And just like that -- we have 10 who want to do the VIP!:dance3: That's with Ellen and Mel's sister included.

Looks like we may need 2 groups! Yipee! :woohoo:

It is true that if you make the 11:30 reservation and are one of the first to check in, you'll get a water table. It's always worked for me :thumbsup2 . However, the tables right up front only seat up to 4 people. I think they have one that sits up to six. The next row of tables sit the bigger groups, but they still have good view.

I only work 20 minutes from DL, but once I park and get into the park, that'll take another 30 minutes. I don't want everyone to schedule their lunch around me, so just make it for 11:30 and I'll work extra hard that day to get there on time :goodvibes .
Well, we want you there so we'll try to make it work out!! :)

For those that are thinking about a tour, the VIP tour might be a good option. It is $300 for 4 hours and up to 10 people can book ($30 per person). Along with the tour, they can arrange special seating for parades and fireworks and fantasmic (if they are showing). A ride on the Lilly Belle can be arranged too.

I would be happy to set this up if there is interest.
What is the VIP tour? LOL I mean I read about it, but do you get behind the scenes kind of stuff? :confused3

Ooooh, now this VIP tour sounds promising! Please, can someone explain to me what exactly happens on a VIP tour?
LOL That's what I was wondering.... :rotfl:

We need Bradk on these boards to post about his VIP experience (I've read it a few times before). It will totally sell you on the tour. I'll post separately to him requesting a report and then once he responds, I'll link it here.

Thanks Callie. :thumbsup2

So when is this tour? :hyper:

I would like to do it too!!! Sign me up if there is still room!!

Link to VIP tour description. If anyone looks at mouseplanet's message boards, there's a whole thered about VIP experiences and there is discussion of the VIP tour there. And one of the people talking about it has done it with something like 17 people; they have to know in advance, and you get more guides, and of course it's more money...BUT would it be more money to have a bigger group, or to have the group split into two separate tours?

I would absolutely love to go on this tour with y'all.
*******

OK so that said...I'm cheating on this trip. I'm cheating...by....going in 2.5 weeks. ALL ALONE. Yes folks, the gal who has NEVER even spent ONE NIGHT away from her boy is going off to Anaheim like a free spirit. We're getting him ready for this. The biggest issue is that he is still a milk fiend (and I don't mean cow's), so to go to sleep, stay asleep, and wake up happy without that is going to be interesting. But not for me, just for DH, bwa ha ha ha.

And it's only one night away.

So if anyone will be there on the 25th after noon and the 26th from opening to around 5pm, find me. I'm going to check out the festivities organized by another message board on the 26th; offered to volunteer but I was only willing to give up an hour or two and that's not really helping. :)

DH is urging me to get away, for the reason stated here:
You'll come home relaxed, refreshed, and ready to be a great mom and wife again.
I've gotten two colds inside of 2 months. That's not normal for me. I'm run down, I've had 3 nights of insomnia where I can't even think about sleep until 4am, which then means my ever-patient and SO good 3 year old just sits beside me in bed, looking at books, looking out the (locked) window, putting R2D2 and Buzz Lightyear underneath me, until finally he says the magic words which are "I'm hungry!" or "I have pee! Help me?" Anyway, I need to get away and DH realized this before I did, and wants me to go before April.

He said "this is instead of April" and I crossed my fingers and said OK, but I think even he knows that I was crossing my fingers...

I showed him some Disney math tonight. "So Robert you know how I was talking about that tour, that would be about 79 dollars with the AP discount? Well, if I still went in April, I wouldn't need to go on the tour THIS time, and I could be part of a VIP tour, and that would be only $30, so that's a lot cheaper, right?" :rotfl: He saw through that too, but he didn't say "no, woman, you agreed blah blah blah", he just smiled.

Since I was always the one most broke among my friends, I've become super-aware that group things like this need to have the GROUP things organized around free or very inexpensive events. So the picture must be in a free area. The big "hi howaya" when the most people will be there should be in a place with less expensive items, say...Hearthstone Lounge (I think?) bar in GCH, or Cove Bar in DCA...a place to mill around and not be locked in to ordering something that's too pricey for your blood, just to be around others. Where you COULD go in there and order one glass of wine, or some water, or something, and not look out of place.

The the satellite activities, there could be more than one going on at any time, though of course at DLR an "activity" could just be "OK now I'm going on Splash 18 times in a row b/c my kids are too short and I never get to go". :)

I love the idea of Pirates and HM (I'm so excited for my little trip, I'll be there the day it opens back up, and I'm excited for a long line, because I want to see all of the queue and don't have to entertain a 3 year old!!) as a group. IASW would have been good for that, too, but of course it's not a possibility.

I thought I had more to say, but hey, maybe I'm getting sleepy and my insomnia is cured!

Oh, and we are going to do a photopass thing, aren't we? :)

"thing" meaning we'll be letting photopass photogs take pictures, and perhaps we will all go onto one account? Or maybe not, I don't know. I just like photopass. :upsidedow

I feel so bad I haven't checked this thread in some time, cause I fell so behind. Ekk!

I still plan on being at DL Thursday and Friday, I still don't have a roommate but I have a back up plan or two if I don't find one. I hope to be there with plenty of time for Jazz Kitchen and UVA since I LOVE both places!!

I love BB so count me in on that one too. I so hope that weekend will have Friday activities for the F&W festival since I am still sad I had to miss it last year.

I so wish I could make the tour, I have wanted to do one for a long time, but no Sunday for me sadly I will be out at the Renaissance faire.

Anyway I am going to try and be better about keeping up with the goings on since I am still looking forward to this and have my brand new shiney Pass in hand woo hoo!

You mean S H A R E? It's ok to say it here, Molly, you're among friends. ;) :rotfl:

Oh yes, let's definitely do that sharing thing! :goodvibes

From Bradk:

well, bottom line, for a group of 10 (or near that) and $300, it should be a no brainer in my opinion. half the cost of walk in walts footsteps.

anyway, you're basically getting a guide who's knowledgeable about the parks and touring and can basically provide you with whatever you're hoping to get. in addition, the people at the VIP tour line set me up for priority viewing for F! (second balcony at the time), DEP, POD, Remember and BPB. could have done aladdin, etc., but didn't want to. none of those were during my VIP tour or possibly even on the same day.

i really just had my guide fill me up with facts i didn't know and she let me copy stuff out of her castmember reference guide. she pointed out things like fess parker's window, walt's second window, the monsonto house of the future foundation.. rode the lilly belle around the park (which back then meant something ), saw the asimo show, got me into a couple of character meet & greets, etc.

I will be there on the 26th, with my 12 YO DD, and possibly my 18 YO DD. I would love to meet someone!!

I organized a Photopass sharing last October, so let me know if we need someone to organize it. The thread we had is gone, unless someone knows how to get to the older stuff. Basically, I set up an email account for the Photopass account. You CANNOT set up your own Photopass account, the cards cannot be shared between accounts. I would give everyone the logon and password for the PP account and we add the cards there. I think we had several hundred pictures, there is not limit. They will send however many CDs it takes. Then I'll copy the CDs and mail them to everyone. Depending on how many people participate will determine how much it costs. I think we had 6-7 people and it was about $25 each, including the cost of the CDs, mailers, and shipping.

It looks like we need 2 tour guides. If we have 20 people, it still works out to $30.00 per person. I am sure we can fill all the spots.

How about Friday afternoon for the tour? We can plan firework seating for one night and Fantasmic seating for the other (if it is showing).

Off to start a list.

I won't be there early enough for the tour on Friday but I think the picture pass thing is a great idea.

Sounds good to me :thumbsup2 :woohoo: .

Could we possibly try to schedule it between 1 and 2pm? There is a tenative Blue Bayou lunch scheduled for 11:30 on that day and I don't want anyone to feel they have to choose between the two activities :scared: .

Just a suggestion, feel free to disregard :rolleyes1  .

Whoops, had to edit. I mean add me to the VIP tour list and add my friend Cathy too.:thumbsup2

Well, we want you there so we'll try to make it work out!! :)

11:30 is fine :thumbsup2. I'm a pro at rushing so I'll make it :car: .

I just hope the VIP tour time doesn't conflict with lunch, because I really want to do the tour (hint, hint to Lesley :flower3: ).

Part of me was thinking that the VIP tour should be done early on Friday and then they could get us fabulous seating for BB later. :)

But that's being a bit chancy with an important meal.

danger, you're so funny. I couldn't figure out what I was trying to say last night...but really what I was meaning was..."am I the only freak who likes having strangers take pictures so I can put cutesie borders around it, or am I going to have to sneak off to have pictures taken while you all laugh at me?"

stacielee, it's good you've been a leader. The cool thing about a share with a group like this is that you don't really have to think much when copying the CDs, because it's likely everyone will want access to every picture, so you could just copy them all for everyone. Hmm. The editing is going to be interesting, with each person possibly editing (which makes a copy, it does not change the original, for those who don't know) the same pictures in slightly different ways. Chaos! :3dglasses
