Girls Only Trip ~ OLD Thread, see link in first post for new one

I can't believe our trip is only 50 days away. For some reason I can't wrap my head around what needs to be packed, purchased or printed. I better get myself organized now before I go back to school so I have less things on my mind and I can focus 100% on academics.
I'm starting out small with the candy buffet list for the meet and greet. So far I've only received PMs from three ladies: Callie, Jill and Patty. I won't respond to your PMs but once I receive a PM from the majority of the ladies I'll post a list of who I've heard from. Thankfully I have already started buying things for my pillowcase and have the material, too.

It's hard right now because I have a household to run and a child to take care of for the next 17 days. I know most of you are moms and this is everyday stuff but I've just been thrown into the position  I have to get this house in order so I can think straight without going cross-eyed looking at the mess!

Beth, thank you for the link to the avenue site. Those tie dye choices are more along the lines of something I would wear not only to the trip but out and about.

Steakhouse 55 - They have not returned my call and it's been five days since I called them. I will be calling them again later today to see if we can get the matter settled. I asked for a reservation for 16 people and they transferred me to the group reservation line where I had to leave a message. If they are unable to accommodate the large party I'm going to have to make two separate reservations. Stacielee has already been so kind to agree to make the second reservation if its needed.

I'm off to bed. I took Benadryl at my aunt's house because now that they have cats my asthma triggered by my allergy acts up and I start to wheeze. Later I had a venti iced latte and was A W A K E :dance3:So I cleaned the den, now I'm off to sleep.

BYE!

Good morning and Happy Hump day everyone!!

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday and has an even better one today.

Cristabel I have talked to mom on the phone about the candy buffet but I only "see" her twice a week at work and we are going to call barb next time we get together and talk to her about some stuff for the trip and hopefully we will be making some decisions then and I will let you know as soon as we do that. :) Hopefully by the end of the week or the weekend.

Mom and I STILL need to find some black shirts!! I have a tye die one but I have got to get moving on the black ones and our pillow cases!!

Anywho Shane was able to work ONE day for another shop on Monday and then 2 hours yesterday but then came right back home :( . We STILL have not seen or heard anything about unemployment so I am getting kind of stressed. We haven't gotten any money in in 3 weeks and I have put out about 2000 on bills and Katy's birthday and now THIS week Shane's truck payment is due and we DESPERATELY need to go to the store. I sure hope something comes through soon! He went back to the union hall today to see if he can go to another shop so I am crossing my fingers that he finds work today! But EVEN if he does it will be a week or two before we get paid. Man this sucks! Oh well nuff of that.

Tonight the girls have awana so I know they are excited to get back to church and see their friends. Even THAT is sad cuz I don't know if they will even be able to finish out the year. We were told on Christmas eve that they have to be completely out of the church by April and usually Awana doesn't end till June. Hopefully we will have a new location and just transition but I am not sure WHAT is going to happen. The church is asking the parishioners to give 400,000 to help build/rent a new church and I know a LOT of people are in our same shoes, out of work or on limited incomes and just can't give much right now so it is kind of scary. Don't know what is going to become of our little church. :( I hope we don't lose it all together and have to start at a new one. We love our pastor and our friends there.

Anyway I plan to do my workout today and then hopefully start tackling the corp taxes then we supposedly have the stupid comcast guy coming tonight to "disconnect" I don't know what.

Then as I said this sat is shelby's skill clinic for basketball and our friends are on the team so I am excited we will still be seeing them for awhile. They were on our soccer team as well so it will be nice to keep in touch with them. We usually only get to see them during soccer season or for the kids birthdays. And swim is RIGHT around the corner.

Stacerita I am glad you like your new job and good luck!

Linda and Tina good to see you on the boards, and Wendy I am so sad about you not going. I agree with the others I think you need to come since you said it! ;)

Have a great day everyone and ttyl!

Happy Wednesday girlies.

So at my work, we have 16 people. So far 10 of them have come down with the stomach flu (not all at the same time, this has been since last week). I am one of the remaining 6 not sick, and I am terrified. I am washing my hands, Lysol-ing everything, praying and crossing my fingers. No way am I getting this. And the one who started it? My boss. Ick.

Stacie - Glad your new job is going well. Keep up the awesome work. :thumbsup2

Oh and the money tree? Mine never made it to my house. Someone named Bree plucked it bare before I could get my hands on it. OHHHH, am I mean? No, my baby girl is my shining beacon in a sometimes bleak world. :littleangel: I would gladly give her my last dime.

You are a wonderful Momma. :goodvibes

I am also feeling a little overwhelmed! Could it possibly be I am making lists but mostly on stickys and I keep finding them everywhere. Didn't get home until after 10pm last night after basketball (left the house at 5:30am). My 3 lb toy fox terrier came running so excited to see me and on his little body was one of my post its. I have decided today to use a notebook.

I've been thinking about you and your new job. It's so hard at first, but I know you will be your usual Rockstar self and it will be a breeze.:goodvibes I'm glad you seem to like it so far.

I second that Stacie! They are going to love you, and your personality!:goodvibes

Tina, you work too much girl. Glad Marty is feeling better.

Me too!

Gee Linda, That is the best way to describe how I feel. Fo the last 5 years, we have had plans to do a major remodel, and have not been able to cuz all of our extra money has gone toward helping our children get going in life. From college, to buying equipment for starting up businesses, doesn't leave much. But it is all worth while to us. The bonus too, is that I can look out my back window, and see my boys and Dave working together. They get along famously, and that does my heart wonders. :cloud9:

No fair, you can't do that to me! Now I pretty much have to go.
OK!!!!! :goodvibes

Oh, if anyone is having a hard time finding a tie dye shirt, Avenue has some cute ones that aren't too "out there" if you know what I mean. :rotfl: The only thing is they are a plus size store, so it won't work for most of you, but just thought I'd post it anyway. They start at size 14 I think.

http://www.avenue.com/Plus-Size-Tops-and-Tees.aspx?DeptId=19934

They come with 3/4 length sleeves too which is nice for the unpredictable weather. Maybe that will help someone who was still searching. :)
Beth, Those are very cute.

Kaitlyn gave me a tie dye shirt, that she was going to put into the get rid of pile. It is a true tie dye shirt. :rotfl: I have no idea if it fits or what, but it's free, so I will give it a chance. If not, then I'm finding something like you found. That really is more my style.

Ummmm, who's been lying to Beth about her image again???? :lmao: :lmao:
LOL! :rotfl2::rotfl::laughing::lmao:

Why don't you try the Esty site? I forgot the girls name, but I mailed her a shirt for her to tie dye, that way I knew it would fit. She had a clearance sale and Sarah got a Mickey one for only $5.00
NOw that was a good buy! :thumbsup2

Yikes! Me too!

Courtney, I hate the stomach flu too! Uggh!! But if you do happen to get it, look on the bright side..............at least you can't catch it in 50 days! :rolleyes1

I ussually do too. I have the binders just haven't had the time. I don't even have a binder set up for Katie's party yet just a folder. Plan on doing it after I finish packing 10 more crates of Christmas decorations.

Thank you for the kind words, Courtney.:) I hope you evade that bug trying to get you! I feel so fortunate that I rarely get sick.

Wow, what a long day Patty. That story made me LOL - how cute!

Mel - some of our financial woes are self induced. I mean, who among us can't say we could have saved more $$ over the last decade? (other than the youngsters in the group who were children ten years ago). We thought we had saved enough for Bree's college and guess what? All that money was gone after her freshman year.:sad2: Then we both had pay cuts and new jobs and let's just say it never got better. But like you, I am so grateful for my family and that we could provide DD an education and we really have very little debt (other than our upside-down house which is another whole story) and no credit card debt. I really think 2010 will start to turn around for all of us. The main goals for us are: Chris beating his cancer, Bree graduating and getting a decent job and us finally starting to save more $$. And doing more Disney doesn't hurt, either.;) It keeps me sane!

5 bucks?? Wow. That's great. I did take a peek, and they are cute, but I found an aqua/blue one at Avenue that I liked and had a coupon so I just grabbed it. Thanks though!

Beth, thank you for the link to the avenue site. Those tie dye choices are more along the lines of something I would wear not only to the trip but out and about.
You're welcome. I like them. I would totally wear them out and about.
This black one has kind of a rock vibe to it:

This one is really pretty:

And this is from Fashion Bug, which also has some very nice ones. I love the detailing and embroidery on this one, especially around the neckline:

Tie dye seems to be fairly popular right now. :confused3 Lots of stores are carrying them in very tasteful versions. :hippie: :thumbsup2

Oh, and thanks for the Steakhouse update. I am calling back on the Cafe Orleans reservation today. This is nuts that they haven't gotten back to me.

I'll PM you my candy choice in a sec. Hopefully no one else has beat me to it!!

Avenue would be too big for you. But Fashion Bug had nice tie dye ones and they carry small sizes.
Good luck. I'm actually really excited to see everyone's tie dye selections. :hippie:

Hi ladies, any word on Cafe Orleans yet? I can taste those Pommes Frites now!

I am doing well today. Hope you all are too!

My team is getting closer on a scavvy hunt name but not quite there yet!

Sarah

This is the shirt I ordered. Cassi had it on an after Christmas Clearance Sale for $5.00! :woohoo:

Hopefully it fits. I plan on blinging it up a bit and maybe adding a bow to make it a Minnie.

We must have been thinking the same thoughts. LOL
I just posted that I will be calling them back today. ;)
For the record, this will be the THIRD time I've called regarding this, so don't think I'm not trying. :sad2: Dumb Disney Dining.

Super cute!!!!!! :thumbsup2 You have the cute little figure for that too. I need..........well, something that's still fun, but more subtle. That way I don't scare other park goers. ;)
I cannot wait to take everyone's pic in their tees!

Lol! I didn't even look back and 3 people posted when I did! Crazyness! Glad to hear things are coming along with preparations. I need to start my lists too! I will do that today as I am training someone to cashier who used to work at a bank so needless to say she caught on really quickly and there isn't much for me to teach her!

Hello my lovely Divas!

I feel like I haven't posted in a long time. My new work schedule is making it difficult. And I am blocked at work so I can't even post on breaks. No fair.

I really like my new job. So far its easy and everyone is nice. The way they do things is old school, and everything needs updating. My staff is great. I did a couple of really small things to make changes, and they thought is was the greatest. Just wait till I get my roll on. Will take some time though. I love my new office. Its roomy and has two walls made of glass so its nice. I still have to bring my own stuff to make it my own. The previous director was a pack rat so it took me long time yesterday to clean it up. I am happy with it now though.

I have to read back to catch up still.

I'm glad you are making an impact so quickly. I always find I am nervous the first week or so of a new job and spend most of that time listening & reading up on existing. Then kick myself into high gear after that. I can just imagine the change you will cause after even just a little more time there.

I'm starting out small with the candy buffet list for the meet and greet. So far I've only received PMs from three ladies: Callie, Jill and Patty. I won't respond to your PMs but once I receive a PM from the majority of the ladies I'll post a list of who I've heard from. I'll send you my candy plan soon. Need to go to Costco this weekend and do some recon on candy sizes. I'm sure you'll find a rythym that works for you soon. It's hard to shift back from being on vacation and then add on to that and it's almost exponential craziness!

Let me know if you need help with Steakhouse 55 & I can call for a PS too if needed.

Happy Wednesday girlies.

Ugh! It's always worse when people come to work sick. Seems like it sticks around longer for the original person and just across the office in general. Stay well!

I am also feeling a little overwhelmed! Could it possibly be I am making lists but mostly on stickys and I keep finding them everywhere. Gee ladies, I have a regular binder now a days. :rolleyes1

That's funny. Is it bad that I have multiple notepads and can never find them? Though they never get stuck to my dog :) I need a notepad list with a legend of all my notepads & their contents!

Good morning Divas. :cool1:

It looks like our scavy team's official name is going to be......

Captain Jack's Rum Runners  :cheer2:

Okay I just called again for the third time. Spoke with a CM named Rita. She was very nice. I explained to her what was going on, how I'd called multiple times and had yet to hear anything.

She checked with Gary, the lead CM who's been submitting the requests to the managers at Cafe Orleans and he submitted another request while she had me on hold. He also left word with the night supervisor at Disney dining to follow up on it.

She apologized repeatedly and said she didn't know why it was taking so long. She did say there had been some talk of refurbishment at the restaurant during that time so that might have something to do with it. Guess we'll wait and see. :confused3
