I have been crazy busy over the weekend, and never had a chance to log on. Gonna try to catch up now.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Well, I guess Ruben and I will never be trying that restaurant.
?

You saw, Molly looked up Vegas. It looks like there are many more options since I was there years ago (in Calif). I just remember being shocked - a friend's daughter asked to be taken there, and just for the two of us there was no way to get out of there under $75 for lunch back then. They were totally inflexible about ordering and it wasn't a holiday or anything. Now it's a different economy and I'm sure they're trying to make more options.

I've been so busy I haven't even watched last Thursday's show let alone the finale!!

I'm sure by now you've Googled her, but my favorite movie of hers was Little Black Book. She was so young. What a shame.
)

it is a shame. But the way the family said nothing and then today said she had the flu and was on medication (combined with the fact that there were rumors of recreational use in the past) sounds fishy to me. Not sure but if I had to bet it is possible they will find a combination of prescription drugs.

She was liked, very bubbly, so it is a sad loss.

Hi girls! I just wrapped up a storm here and I'm not even done with my shopping, oh geez.

Has anyone read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series? I started the first book last night and it's good so far.

Kerry, I didn't know you were so close. I work in Camarillo, across the freeway from the outlets. By the way, I went there today after work and I couldn't find a parking, go figure!

Hi Ladies!
I'm back again.
I hope all is well with you.
I'm getting my house, and the food feast ready for company on Christmas Day. Also making room for my married ones to spend the night on Christmas Eve. It's so cute. They live in town, but still want to wake up with us. So we will be quite crowded, but all in all I am blessed. :grouphug: Our traditional breakfast on Christmas morning has to be Monkey bread. For our big feast I'm trying the Barefoot Contessa's spiral ham, and Dave is going to smoke a turkey. I'm also making the stuffing recipe that Step gave us, and gooey apple dumplings. That is a tradition that my Mom started. Yummy! The rest of the family are going to bring the sides.

I think I have all my shopping done. Yee haw!:cool1:

Today my youngest baby Kaitlyn was officially asked out on her first date. :sad2: We happen to know the young man, so it does make it somewhat easier. He is very nice. Anywhos, the next step in her life has begun. How come our children can't just stay little? :confused3 I used to tell her when she was really little that she had to stop growing because I wouldn't be able to pick her up anymore and hold her. Her reply back was always, "But Mama, I'm supposed to get bigger." Now look at where she is. Can you tell, that this is hard for me? When I had her almost 11 years after my last DD Becky, I was so happy to have another baby around the house for a long time. Now that time is rapidly ticking away. :sad1:

Well enough about that.

Have a great day tomorrow.

Love, Mel:flower3:

I'm thrilled to be able to help you and your family and I wish you guys a very Merry Christmas! ( It was all I could do, not to buy your daughter tampons!! LOL)

I wish you would have. That would have been hilarious !!

I had a rather interesting morning. I drove in to work and was sitting at the intersection red light and it had been red awhile and this car on the opposing street just comes FLYING through the intersection. I am thinking what the HECK when the cars on the opposite side starting making the left turn onto my street. It was a double turn lane and they all started swerving around this dude. He slams on his brakes and then realizes he is in a huge mess. So he floors it and then hits an old man. I was like WHAT!! It happened like 10 feet straight in front of me! There was glass and plastic and metal that just eploded everywhere in front of me. I looked at the people in the turn lane next to me and they were just kind of stunned and we were all shaking our heads. I immediately called 911 and then I made a u turn and came back and offered to be a witness for the old man. He was moving on top of it and the kid hit him in the back of his car where all his stuff was. I felt so bad for him. I hope none of his stuff got broke! RIGHT where his truck got hit was his tv! Anyway LUCKILY no one was hurt although the kid was 17 and alone so they took him to the hospital just in case (I guess that is a law) and myself and 2 others gave witness statements. CRAZY!

How Scary! Thank God no one was seriously hurt!

Well, the table was too good to be true. They left off a zero on the price, and I just can't spend $750 on a table right now. She did lower the price to $600, but it wasn't meant to be. Oh well, it gave me something to be excited about for a time this morning.

Bummer! $750 still sounds good compared to the $5000, but it is still a lot to pay! That's too bad.

That is both :flower3: & :scared1:. I'm dreading the day & they just grow up too fast. But Kaitlyn is a good girl so you shouldn't be worried.

Kelly, that is crazy. I'm glad no one was hurt.

Heather, bummer about the table. :sad2:

Molly, thanks for all the info. One day we'll have to go. ::yes:: I mean, it's literally about 5 minutes from my house. Seems a shame not to.

Tina, I will add you and your mom to CO. :thumbsup2

Stacie, good to see you. :)

Mel, first date?? EEK! I am not ready for dating in this household. :scared1:

Deb, hope the salt water works for ya! :wizard:

Hi Sarah, Donna, Courtney, Cheryl and everyone else!! :)

The first of our reservations will be made this Saturday. :cool1: :yay:

PLEASE check and make sure you are signed up for the meals you want. Once reservations are made, I will be closing all meal sign-ups. (Meaning all meals where we need a reservation of course, not the counter service meals. We aren't taking sign ups for those.) So even if you aren't 100% sure you are coming, it might be best to sign up just in case.

This is not to exclude anyone, or to be mean, but it is really not easy to call and constantly be changing the number on each reservation especially with such large groups. Often times with these numbers we have to work directly with the supervisor or manager of the restaurant, not just Disneyland dining, and it's really a hassle.

Thanks for understanding. :)

What's tradition day?

We get up super early, drive over to my grandma's house and make tamales. We have tamales for Christmas dinner every year so we have to make A LOT! My mom and sister also bake cookies. I had two batches of cookie dough ready but the kitchen was so crowded I decided to wait on it.

Beth: For the Cafe Orleans meal Rebecca and I are maybe, please change to attending. Thanks!

Morning and Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Heather I am sorry about the table. That DID sound like a great deal but maybe you will find another deal down the road!!

Looks like it was pretty dead around here last night. Everyone must be enjoying their christmas week! :)

Last night we took the girls to their party and they had a good time. They got to go in their PJ's and then they got to eat pizza and watch a christmas movie and they did an ornament exchange. So I think they had fun. Shane and I just hung out at home and watched a few Brittany Murphy movies. Kind of a tribute I guess. We watched Clueless and Just Married. I feel so bad for her family regardless of what happened. So sad to lose someone this close to the holidays!

Anyway today I have to do a bunch of house cleaning and hopefully am going to run to super cuts and get a hair cut. Nothing else much planned. Tomorrow the dish guy is coming "sometime" in the afternoon so I will be pretty much stuck here till he gets here. Then tomorrow night mom maybe wants to go see the Blind Side.

That's bout it for us.

I hope everyone has some fun stuff planned for the next few days. Take care and talk soon. :)

Morning ladies!

Beth, I will be checking on the meals. Thanks for the reminder.:goodvibes

Vicki, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather.

Kelly, I'm glad you are still coming! Yay!:yay:

Jill and Jen, what nice ladies you are!:grouphug:

Cristabel, Can I have some your tamales? They sound soooooo good.

Cheryl, I love eggs benedict! And yes, Kaitlyn is excited!

So last night was quite eventful. It started to rain cats and dogs. My son and his crew were still out late in the dark with their trucks. If you all remember I live in the country with fields and a dairy across the street from us. So one of the new drivers was trying to back into our driveway without taking out the fence. He was loaded with wood chips and heavy. He got off of the pavement, and got stuck in the mud. When Dave went out to check on him, the truck was beginning to tip over. That is not good at all.:scared1: So Dave gets out the loader and pulls him out of the mud. Mine you, it is still pouring rain and really dark. Finally got the truck parked in the back and all is good. Poor guy. Now he knows never to go off the pavement in the rain. Anywhere!

Then around midnight I was awakened by knocking on our door. I had earplugs in, cuz Dave snores really bad. I look out the window at flashlights pointed into our window, and I see a Sherriff's car parked in the front. What the world? I'm yelling at Dave to wake up, the turd. (How could you sleep through that I told him later.) Anyshos, Dave gets up and puts on some shorts quick a minute cuz he was buck naked. :rolleyes1 Apparently someone from our home phone had called 911. WHAT?? There was no one here except Dave, Kaitlyn and I, and we were all sound asleep. So he told us that sometimes this happens. when the weather is stormy. But he still wanted to come in the house. Ok, says Dave. I think he looked into the kitchen and living room, and then apologized and was on his way. Talk about jarring the senses out of a deep sleep! Geesh!

Today should be nice and quiet. I hope!:rotfl:

I'm looking for a good recipe to make Red Velvet cake. Any of you have one? I know Stacie/rita loves to make them, and I think Beth does too. I have one cut out of my Southern Living magazine already, but I would like to see the reviews on it. MyRecipe.com is from So Living, so I'm going to check out the reviews on it and others. The recipe calls for 2 bottles of red food coloring. Youza..........that is some serious coloring!

Hi to everyone else!

Have a great day. :flower3:

Happy Tuesday Divas!

I am soooo ready for Christmas!:cool1:
Breezy is coming to have lunch with me at my office and then driving DH to his radiation appt. She has two weeks off, the lucky duck!

I am so sorry about your Grandma, Vicki.

Welcome back Mel, we missed you. I'm surprised your beautiful DD has not had a date as of yet. I remember Breezy's first "date". It was the summer after 6th grade and she was twelve. His name was Daniel No (spelled wrong but pronounced No). He was a studious asain boy and his mom didn't speak english. We took them to the mall and they hung out and had lunch. We also took them roller skating and to the movies. He gave her flowers and cheap costume jewelry. After three dates they broke up. They both moved on but we will always remember Daniel No. :lovestruc Just had to share that story. And yes, they do grow up so fast. I still call her baby when we talk on the phone and she will be 23 in a few weeks!

Well, have a good day everyone, TTYL.:)

I want some!!! Care to make a delivery to Vegas?? :rolleyes1

We have a great place here locally that makes amazing and authentic tamales, so maybe I will order some. Thanks for the idea.

Beth: For the Cafe Orleans meal Rebecca and I are maybe, please change to attending. Thanks!
Will do!

Everyone must be enjoying their christmas week! :)
I think so! Although for some reason the closer it gets to Christmas, the less it feels like it for me. How weird is that?? :confused3

Dave gets up and puts on some shorts quick a minute cuz he was buck naked. :rolleyes1
 :happytv: Go Mel!!!

For a cake recipe, check this link: http://allrecipes.com/Search/Recipe...elvet cake&SortBy=Rating&Direction=Descending

I love allrecipes. You can read each review and decide which one you like best. It does take a LOT of red coloring.

Aww, how sweet. I love how the two of you are so close. I hope that for me and my girls. :)

Good morning my Diva babes! :cool1:

Well I'm finally on a two week break from school. I had another reading/language arts lesson plan due yesterday, along with a weekly summary report, but everything is done and turned in. I am going to try to work ahead though during our two weeks off because I have another 6 reading/language arts lesson plans to write, and it's always nice to get ahead when you can. :thumbsup2

I mailed the last of my Christmas cards yesterday too, so for those of you who haven't received a card from me yet.....it's on the way! :goodvibes

My dad is home from the hospital and seems to be doing okay so far. He's on oxygen 24/7, but he's walking a little better and doesn't look all swollen and purple anymore. He will have a physical therapist come in 3 times per week for the next 3 weeks to help him strengthen his legs. He doesn't seem to be too into it though. (sigh) Well, at least he's home for Christmas.

I've been helping my mom as much as I can.....doing dishes for her.....Christmas shopping for the grandkids......delivering gifts to their neighbors for them......ordering flowers for them that they want to send to some friends in Arizona.....doing some of the laundry.....changing the sheets on the bed....etc.

Anyway, today I'm going to try to get ready for Christmas a little more. I will be baking up a storm here in the next couple of days, so I need to go to the store and get all my supplies. My boys are insisting I make a key-lime pie this year (along with apple, pumpkin, pecan, and huckleberry). Sure, why not. Nothing says Christmas like key-lime pie. LOL! :goodvibes

Has anyone heard from January? :confused3

She hasn't signed up for anything, and I'm afraid she's going to miss out on a lot of fun meals and the scavenger hunt if she's coming.

Should we assume she's not coming?
