ATTITUDE
by: Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

A little saying that I read years ago always keep me positive.

"Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so"

. The accident actually happened in a parking lot, and the police said there's nothing much they can do because it's "private property". .

That's insane !! If a murder happened on private property would they say the same thing ??? !!!!

Exactly. It was a hit and run.....which is a CRIME! Who cares where the heck it happened?!! Sounds like the cops just don't want to do their due diligence to me. I'd be making a phone call!

I'm only hoping we can finish the hunt! We got the free hotel room, who knows maybe we'll win the shirt competition! What more could we ask for??

I know Carol has a team going as well, so the competition is ON! :santa:

That's nice too. IT would make a nice tag for you. :)

(sigh) Who knows. They weren't even going to come out until Ruben told them he was out on the street still and described the car and direction he was headed to them. He tried to follow the guy for a bit, but he was driving to erratic and lost him.

We'll see what happens. The door has to be fixed. I just hope we don't have to jump through too many hoops to do it. Our poor mini van. It's 13 years old, has over 200,000 miles on it, and looks like it's been to hell and back. But it keeps on going, like the Energizer bunny, so we keep driving it. Better than trying to take on a new car payment that's for sure.

Why can't there be a new car fairy? :rolleyes1 ;)

Ooooooooh. popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Cheryl has a team, too.;)

I am really hoping it doesn't rain.

I hope all your pipes are free and clean running real soon, Donna!:thumbsup2
(That didn't really make sense, but you know what I mean)

Hi Divas! I hope everyone is having a marvelous week so far! I know I posted telling you about my submarine so I wanted to show you how it turned out...

SubmarineforDisBoards.jpg

It is for my final in my children speech arts class. I am doing the story of Finding Nemo. There will be a lot more props but the submarine was what I was in charge of. I think it turned it pretty neat...what do you think?

Bree LOVE the sub! So cute!

Love everyone's positive attitudes!

I have quotes as one of the aps on my phone and I saw a REALLY good one earlier but can't find it again but came across this one and thought it was funny!

"This is not the life I ordered!" LOL

Is anyones? But hey my favorite motto is Life is what happens when you make other plans. It's a roller coaster ride that's for sure and some days we feel like we almost can't bear one more thing (speaking from recent experience here!) BUT as Beth and some of the others said there is ALWAYS something positive to find!

It is always darkest before the dawn!

I hope it doesn't rain either. And actually, the MousePlanet people offered to refund our team's fee because none of us felt like playing without Dawn--so we donated it to the African Wells thing to kick-off the contributions. So we are not playing.

Bree, your submarine looks SWEET! Sounds like a fun class and a fun project. What are you getting your degree in?

Hi everyone.

I am days behind on posts but I need some help and hopefully someone here can help me out.

Does anyone have any experience with being Vitamin D deficient? My levels were low in June, so I was put on a supplement. I've been taking that for 5 months. I just had my levels tested again this week and they are LOWER than they were in June. I'm really worried about this.

Now my Dr wants to put me on 50,000IU once a week for the next 8 weeks.

Everything I'm reading about says this is not a good idea. It can spike my levels too much.

Just hoping someone can give me some advice on this.

My poor dad fell in the shower yesterday evening. His skin is so thin that it just takes a little bump and it rips right off, so you can imagine how much skin ripped off when he fell. My mom couldn't get him up, so she had to call my brother to come over to lift him up off the shower floor. My brother said dad was all cold and shivering, blood just pouring out of him, and that he is TORE OPEN.....almost his entire arm and the front side of one leg.....and looks really bad.....sigh.:sad2: :sad1:

And my mom's car is messed up (shop changed the battery in it, which somehow messed up the programming of the security system and the car's computer system), so my mom has no car while her car is getting fixed. My parents' other car is down in Lake Havasu.....they had to leave it down there because they needed to get my dad home (to Spokane) right away to see his cardiologist, so they didn't have time to drive up.

My brother is in town for some court stuff (he's getting a divorce), so he's using Justin's car to get to/from all his appointments. Justin is using my Escape to get to/from work. So that leaves me with no car either.

Hmmmmmm......where's that bottle of peppermint schnapps? :rolleyes1

I'll check the dosage tonight--but I'm pretty sure I take 50,000 IU every Sunday of vitamin D. Plus 1,000 IU a day. And have had no problems.

I'm sorry Janelle. I don't know anything about that. Maybe you can get a second opinion from a different doc. :confused3

Hmmmmmm......where's that bottle of peppermint schnapps? :rolleyes1
 Your poor dad. I hope he's okay. :(

Okay - oops, apparently I said a bad thing and was edited - my bad!! Sorry 'bout that :rolleyes1

Big hugs to everyone who is needing one right now. There seems to be so many things happening right now.

I am starting to feel better, thank goodness and everyone else here did not get sick (so I'd like to know where I got it from..... me, who doesn't ever leave the house???? hmmmmm......)

Anywhoo, HAPPY HUMP DAY Divas :thumbsup2 Now I would normally say now get to humping, but I don't want to offend anyone else, so I won't say that :thumbsup2

Theresa- Happy to hear you are on the mend :thumbsup2! Missed seeing all your witty comments on the thread!

Your poor dad! Your poor mom too, she must have felt so scared. I hope he gets patched up quickly & feels better .

Oh, I think I may have drank your schnapps last night. Sorry :rolleyes1.

Thank you for the compliment! I am getting my degree in Communication Studies. I took the class because it reminded me of adult recess lol. It's the same one I made the Perfect Pair books for. I am so excited to be done in May. I know my mom and dad are too...they tell me I am expensive...sorry Mom! :rolleyes1
