Hi Girls: I just wanted to share with you (hope the Dis doesn't mind) a blurb I wrote that was just sent out to all the Reindeer Games participants for this weekend's event. My understanding is that they are going to set up a wishing well or something to take donations for Dawn's charity:
How nice.

Kelly, my dh will be providing that. He will upload a pdf with trim lines that will be downloadable for everyone in the next couple days.
Thanks Callie.

Got back from the doctor's, I am cleared to work so that's good. But now I am on two meds for hypertension, and have to go back next week for a re check. Plus, I have to take my blood pressure three times every day.
Take care of yourself. I think you need more trips to Vegas and massages to relax you!!

Our dog some how forgot there was glass in front of him (he was in the front passenger seat) and decided to try to jump through the window to get the crow. The window stopped him but in the process created about a 10-11 in. diameter spider crack in the windshield.:sad2: So now I've got to figure out when we can get it replaced before it gets worse. Sorry for venting.
Oh no! Hope it's not too difficult or expensive to fix.

I have so far avoided signing up for anything since I am still up in the air about going or no...so Here is what I want to sign up for assuming I am coming.
You are. ::yes::

:hug:Stacie - make sure to take to time for yourself and rest.

MA teams and everyone else meeting up this weekend I hope you all a great time.

Courtney - Vash (our dog) is alright. Josh said that right after he did it he ran right to the back of the car. When I got home he stayed low and looked pretty sad. I think he knew that what he did was wrong.

Beth - We have to replace the windshield because of the size of the crack. Let's just say the price makes me feel like :headache:. I hate unexpected bills, our budget is pretty strict, and at the holidays is just makes things that much tighter. But we'll get it done.:)

I hope you all have a nice evening.

Ugh, bummer. I feel your pain. We are on a tight budget here too and unexpected bills can wreck havoc! :sad2:

Last night Ruben was hit by a drunk driver. Thank God he was fine. Long story short, the other driver was in a truck and smashed into the side sliding door on our mini van, then decided to flee the scene.

Luckily Ruben got the license plate number of his truck and called the police so hopefully they can find him. Although the guy was pretty out of it. I doubt he'll remember doing it or admit it. Not sure how we are going to get the smashed in side door fixed. Or what this will mean for our insurance. :confused3

Oh well. I'm just thankful Ruben was fine. But between that, a crappy Monday morning, and a busy night tonight, I'm seriously ready for this week to be over already.

In fact, I think I'm going to call it a night and head to bed. Talk to y'all tomorrow!! :)

I'm so sorry. So glad to hear that he is alright. I hope they're able to find the person.

Oh Wow!! Drunk Drivers are freaking nuts!! Hopefully they catch him. That totally stinks about your car. Glad to hear hes okay, hope your insurance doesn't go up. Why do we have to drive would should have some kind of safe public transportation or just all be able to teleport somewhere, it would make life so much easier. :goodvibes

HAPPY TUESDAY EVERYONE!! I was an hour late to work today and had to deal with some really rude people who want everything at Macy's for free. Uhh. Hope tomorrows One Day Sale is better!! :sad2:

Thinking about going to Disneyland on Thursday since I finally paid them for the month of October. Lol.

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday!! :thumbsup2

Hey how do you get different pictures under your screen name and how do they all move? oH and how do you post pictures?? :confused3

OK, so whoever can make it this weekend, lets plan to meet Sunday morning at Riverbelle Terrace at 9:00 or whenever you can get there. :thumbsup2 I have never had breakfast there and can't wait!

I will be at MA with my 2 sons, Bryan 17 and Rob 29. We are "Duck Squad" and will be wearing our brand-new PAC10 Championship U of O shirts! DH will be attending a conference (starting tomorrow, just took him to the airport) on Saturday, but should make it for breakfast Sunday. We are arriving Thursday night with DD and her hubby and BABY :cloud9: who will be visiting relatives but will be joining us at DL on Friday. We are all coming back home Monday night.

Definitely need to take in a holiday Billy show at some point!

The T-shirt plan sounds great. I have a black hoodie from Old Navy just waiting for a design and now I need to find a new tie-dye shirt since the one I got a couple of months ago is too big. I never thought I would wear a Medium. Goodbye, 42 double Ds! :goodvibes Sorry, TMI.......

I have planned a few killer trips to WDW!! Definitely not for the faint of heart. I would LOVE to find a way to get paid for doing that.

I need to go open my stocking from Mary Jo!

Carol - I can't wait to meet you on Sunday! And I totally understand about losing the DD's. I had breast reduction surgery 4 years ago and was a perfect 36DD and have gained weight and well, let's just say I am bigger.:rolleyes1 I wish I was smaller again!

Ugh, bummer. I feel your pain. We are on a tight budget here too and unexpected bills can wreck havoc! :sad2:

How scary Beth! Like you said, thank God he is ok. I hope you catch the SOB and make him pay.

DH is spending the night at City of HOPE for observation. He is having some weird seizure type episodes. But he is ok.:) So I am off to bed alone. night all.

I'm thinking the girls and I may try to be at Riverbelle Terrace at 9am so we can head over to CA at about 9:30 to do TSMM when it opens, and Screamin' and ToT. Then head back to DL to wrap up our weekend.

Also, for those interested, we got a DVC, Saratoga Springs! Now I need to add that to my siggie!!
Congrats!! That is very exciting :)

Hmmmmm. Maybe we need to plan a Diva trip to WDW.

I'm good with two t-shirts too--three is too much for this girl to try to plan.
I love the sound of a WDW trip (all my WDW gals are there right now and I'm not :( waaaahhhhhh!

Oh no, been there, done that. I'll pass on planning a ladies trip for WDW. lol

I like it there, but it's too much of a "real" vacation for me to get away with going solo. kwim?
The kids are fine with me leaving to DL for a few days by myself, but going to Florida and WDW, they'd be a bit sad to miss that and I'd miss them and feel guilty. So, that one someone else will have to step up and plan. ;)

Besides, weren't y'all supposed to be saving your pennies for Disneyland Paris? :rolleyes1 :p

Oooh, a matched set sounds nice. pirate: pirate:

Just looking at the schedule real quick, it appears Sunday would be the least busy and most likely day to plan a hot cocoa and parade or firework viewing, so we'll keep it in mind for that day. :thumbsup2
DLP....sigh.......someday!!!!

Hi Girls: I just wanted to share with you (hope the Dis doesn't mind) a blurb I wrote that was just sent out to all the Reindeer Games participants for this weekend's event. My understanding is that they are going to set up a wishing well or something to take donations for Dawn's charity:

Water Wells for Africa

Some of you may remember "Little Churro" from the Spring 2009 MouseAdventure as the runner-up in the Mascot competition. Its creator was Dawn Field--a MousePlanet member who went by the screenname "Fairykin." Dawn was unfortunately a victim of the H1N1 flu and passed away from pneumonia on November 22nd. She was scheduled to participate in Reindeer Games next weekend.

Her family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to Water Wells for Africa, P.O. Box 635, Manhattan Beach, CA 90267 (www.waterwellsforafrica.org) as Dawn was hoping to fund a well in her and her husband's name next year--63% of the Malawian people do not have access to safe water within a mile of their homes and this charity is hoping to establish 1,000 or more wells to provide safe water. This idea was typical of Dawn who was a loving and giving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend.

Dawn's signature sign-off was "Love and Light." Love and Light to Dawn, her loving family and friends.
That is so special!! How wonderful :)

Ugh, bummer. I feel your pain. We are on a tight budget here too and unexpected bills can wreck havoc! :sad2:

Sending good thoughts & prayers to your hubby! I hope the episodes go away!

I was BORN to plan WDW vacations. There is nothing that thrills me more. I hope we get to go in the next few years. I can't wait to see that looks on my boys' faces there. :goodvibes

I'm looking forward to trying HMH and Small World during the holidays this weekend. I'm a newbie to both!

I've been craving pancakes for days, so I can't wait for RBT!

Is it wrong that I am already planning our WDW trip for 2011??? My parents, sister as well as the 4 of us in my family are taking a HUGE trip for 2 weeks to WDW. Since I am the official Disney "geek" as my parents have so kindly named me, I am in charge of the planning.. Any advice you would like to throw my way, I would gladly accept.:goodvibes

Cheryl - Thank you for the link to the charity. Once the holidays are over I'll be able to make a donation in Dawn's name.

Nite all

Beth - I'm glad to hear your DH is okay! How scary!

I'm feeling crappy due to womanly woes and want to do nothing but sit and eat the chocolate chip cookies I baked last night.

I'm meeting up with my group in Accounting class tomorrow so we can work on the last part of our project (due Friday) and we're supposed to each try and work on it alone and then bring our results so we can make sure we're on the same page. I'm completely lost!
Have you ever thought you completely understood something but then go home and are completely lost on the homework? That's my life!

Then I have a memo due on Friday, an essay for music history and my econ exam.
mgfaint.gif

I just want this week to be over!
Next week is finals but I'm okay with exams just not projects and papers!

Oh gosh, I am so behind on the thread. First of all, Beth, yes, I am thrilled for your idea to make life easier for Melody. Two t shirts is plenty!
And great idea using the other designs for the following year.

Kelly, really glad to hear you're going to work it out this way.

)

I am so glad to hear that Rubin is fine. I cannot see how you would have to pay anything if you were hit by a drunk driver. If he cannot be found, insurance is going to have to cover it and it cannot raise your rates for this. If you do find him, you might want to get a lawyer on contingency (where you pay nothing) to sue him - then use the money to get a new van.

DH is spending the night at City of HOPE for observation. He is having some weird seizure type episodes. But he is ok.:) So I am off to bed alone. night all.

I'm glad he's okay but sorry to hear about the seizures. Maybe a side effect of the chemo?

Got back from the doctor's, I am cleared to work so that's good. But now I am on two meds for hypertension, and have to go back next week for a re check. Plus, I have to take my blood pressure three times every day.

You mean these two meds you have to take three times a day? It sorta sounds like you were already on meds? I'm really sorry to hear this (my mom had this). Take care.

I need some suggestions for some good books to take with me on vacation. I've read all the Twilight books already. I don't like romance books. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Yeah, lots. If you want to stay with YA, The Hunger Games by Collins is good - I'm a few chapters into it now. Stephen King said it was one of the best of the year. Near future world where everyone is poor and hungry and teens are sent to fight to the death once a year. It's really well-written. Am starting Wings by Pyke, you might like that one. Teen moves to new school and discovers she is very very different. ;)

I

I did not include her for the Friday & Monday am activities/meals because she is going to be working full time (somewhere) at her new job, right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it.::yes:: ?

Of course she will be - how can she not? :cutie:

Steph, I winced when I read about your dog... poor thing.

I can't remember what else... hope everyone is doing okay. We found out with this rain that our drains are not draining! And today the shower wasn't draining. So we are getting an estimate tomorrow from roto rooter. It is obviously the main line. That's an expense we were not anticipating... talk about a scaled down holiday...:headache:

But it was a beautiful crisp day with snow on the mountain tops!
BTW, if anyone hear read Lovely Bones, can you PM me? I saw the film and have some questions.

Good morning and Happy Hump day!!

Stacerita I am glad you got in to your doc and I hope that these meds help and that sucks about having to take your bp so much but as they say it is prob best so take care of yourself. I am on BP meds as well but I take it for my migraines. I take Propanolol you? It is weird because I already had pretty low bp to start with and now this makes it SUPER low so I am cold a lot and tired. Just fyi some possible side effects you might have. Anyway be well!! :)

Linda I am so sorry about your dh. I will be praying for him and you and Bree. Again I am so glad you felt able to share this and you all will be in my continued thoughts and prayers!

Beth that is terrible! I truly hope you guys can track this jerk down and that your ins goes after him AND the cops for hit and run!

You guys going to MA are going to have a blast! So jealous! Take lots of pics k?

Cristabel sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Steph that sucks about your car window! I SO know what you mean about crap happening at bad times. It really stinks! ((Hugs))

Donna that's too bad about your drains. My parents have an older property and their's gets tree roots in it all the time so they have had to do the rooter a few times so I know how expensive that can get. Hang in there!!

Well hopefully I didn't miss anyone but if not ((hugs)) and good vibes to all!

Yesterday went fairly well. It was SO good to see my girls again and their conferences went well. They only have a few areas that they need to work on so in general they are right where they should be. Then they begged me to let them get an ice cream for getting a good report card so I went ahead and let them have one. For anyone who like candy canes and chocolate DQ has a new blizzard right now that is SUPER yummy. Even if you aren't a real fan of candy canes this is REALLY good!

Then we just came home and last night we went to dinner at Elephant Bar. We got a gift card LAST year from our soccer team for Shane as coach and I have just never got around to using it. (not my fav place to eat). I was thinking it might be 20 or 30 bucks but it was 60!!! So it paid for all but 7 bucks of our meal! I was really happy about THAT! And Shane decided to buy himself a new phone and wanted me to get one too so we are on the same network and it isn't costing us a ton to call eachother so we switched to verizon. So I have a new number if we are doing the phone lists again this year. Plus if anyone tries to call my old one that is why it is disconnected. :)

Anyway we had a good talk with the girls and I think at least for now things are going fairly well. Shane and I had a LONG talk about how things are going to be around here and HOPEFULLY we can stick to that!

Today I have to go in to work for about an hour and the girls are still on min days for the rest of the week and then tonight the girls have church. Then tomorrow I was finally able to get my doc to do the 2nd swine flu shot so now I don't have to go to the stupid clinic! I also have a stupid bump on my leg with a bruise and my whole calf on the other side and going down my leg is numb so I worry about blood clots since I take the pill and that is a side effect. So when I take the girls in tomorrow I am going to get it looked at.

Then Fri we are doing the holiday lights tour with the scouts and Sat Katy has another soccer game. We were SUPPOSED to do a fun gingerbread house making thing at church on Sunday but we didn't go last week so I never got us signed up. But based on everything that happened it is prob good we just stay home and get things arranged and relax!

Anywho that's bout it for me. Hope everyone has a better day today! TTYL

I haven't been on in awhile, but I just wanted stop in real quick to say hello .

Things have been really bad for me.

It looks like a few others have had some bumps in the road too .

Kelly- I just read what happened & I hope your new situation works out. But still be careful :flower3:.

Beth- I'm glad your husband didn't get seriously hurt. It sucks about the van tho. I hate drunk drivers with a passion, by cousin was killed by a drunk driver.

Linda- Your husband remains in my prayers. I hope he's from with you soon .

Steph- just because you need one.

I hope all you ladies going to Disneyland this weekend have a blast. I wish I could meet up for breakfast at RBT.

To everyone else :grouphug:.

Just a quick recap of the last 5 days:

-Had to take the baby to the emergency room. She hit her head REALLY hard on our ottoman (made out of solid wood) & got a concussion. It was scary because she couldn't even walk anymore & when she tried, her balance was so off she would just fall over. They had to monitor her for 24 hours. But thank God she is fine now.

-While at the hospital, I found out our insurance was no longer valid :scared1:. My lovely DH forgot to tell me that his former job cut the benefits in October & he didn't want to pay for it :headache:. So my whole family doesn't have insurance. The hospital is just going to bill me, but I already know it's going to be at least $2,000 since she was in their overnight .

-My husband went to court on Monday & he will be in jail for 4 months. So he will be missing the baby's 1st birthday. They did say he will probably get released early since the county jail is so over crowded & he's offensive isn't a serious one.

-Someone ran into my car while I was shopping & didn't leave their information. So the back of my cars is broke. The bumper is broke & there is a huge dent. I got and estimate of $546 to fix and since my insurance deductible is $500, it's not worth going through insurance. I don't have the money to fix it, so I have to drive around with a messed up car.

-And last, my dryer broke. This isn't major but just the icing on my crap cake. I've been having to do laundry at the laundry mat which has it's pros and cons. Pros being, I can do all my laundry at the same time :thumbsup2. Cons, everything else. I don't have the funds to buy a new dryer right now so I'm going to try to see if it's cheaper to repair. I have a repair man coming on Friday, so I pray it's not too much $$$$.

Sorry to babble about my problems, but I'm seriously in trouble financially. As of January 8th, I'll have no income :scared1:. I'm praying that a job will come through or that unemployment decides to do another emergency extension. Otherwise I'm in deep doo-doo.

I'm having to forego Christmas and Laila's 1st birthday. I've already talked to the kids and they seem fine with it. I'm still going to do stockings for them & I let them each pick something special they'd like to eat to cook (Devin picked fried chicken & Adara picked perogies). So we are going to do a movie day instead. It should be fun.

Uh oh, I was babbling again :upsidedow. Thanks for letting me vent. It feels good to get everything off my chest.

Good morning ladies.

I’m sick, again. I really don’t know what’s going on. Right now I just have a head cold, I feel fine. Hopefully it doesn’t get any worse and I’m praying I don’t get a cough and congested in my lungs!

Cheryl, thank you for the link for Dawn’s memorial. I will make a donation after the holidays as well.

Beth, so scary!! Thankfully Ruben is okay. I hope they find that guy soon! Would your insurance go up even though it was the drunk driver’s fault?

Linda, you and your family are in my prayers. I hope your hubby’s episodes go away soon. And I hope Breezy finds a wonderful full time job soon! She will!

Katie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. That just sucks, all of it! Pixie dust to you that 2010 will be a 100% better year for you. And thank goodness your little one is okay! Poor thing.

HI ladies!

I am around, just really busy.

I hope all is fine with everyone.

Love to you!

Mel:hug:

I'm so sorry to read all your issues!! Why oh why do things have to hit all together??? Sheesh!! Sending hugs and prayers to you guys during these tough times. I hope something happens soon to turn it all around.
What are your kids ages? (sorry...my brain faded!)

I'm sorry to hear of all your problems Katie! If the insurance was COBRA eligible, it will be retroactive if you get it now. It's expensive though, and that might not be an option for you.

It seems like so many of us are in need of prayers this holiday season.

Beth, I'm so glad DH is ok. How scary and maddening!

Today is the Christmas party at the boy's preschool. I'm excited to see what they do. They kids are so cute and sweet. We have our final eval after school for speech...thank you Jesus!! I feel like I've been torn in 5 different directions lately.

OK, I'm off to feed myself. I hope everyone has a great day.

Heather

Good morning ladies!!! Or is it?? Yes, I suppose any morning where we are awake, and well and able to greet the day is a good one. :)

Vanessa ~ I got your PM and added you and Melissa to those lists. Good luck at work. Before I was a stay at home mom, I worked many years in retail management, and I loved it. Working with the public was fun. BUT there are those customers who make you want to scream.
If you make it to DL after all, have fun!! :wizard:

Donna ~ Thanks for the advice. Lawyers and law suits and all that sounds miserable. lol Plus although the damage is bad, it's not bad enough to warrant enough money for a new van. Not even close. I also got your PM and updated the lists for you.
Sorry about the drain problems. That's why we rent. I cannot afford to have those sort of housing problems creep up. We have no savings so we'd be screwed!!

Linda ~ I hope your DH is okay and they are able to stop those seizures.

Jill ~ Sorry you aren't in WDW with your friends right now. Bummer. :(

Wendy ~ I don't think anyone here would think it's weird you planning a Disney trip for 2011 already. LOL ;)

Cristabel ~ Back away from those cookies!! Seriously, you will feel worse afterward if you eat them. Trust me, I know.

Kelly ~ I wish you the best for you and your family. I hope the new plans work out for all involved. :grouphug:

Melody ~ Busy as always I see. As you saw I mentioned about the tees and I do believe everyone is fine with it. So we'll stick with the two we have, tie dye and pirate. And the other two we'll save for the next trip, and we'll be that much more ahead of the game next time. :thumbsup2

Katie ~ Oh honey. I am so, so sorry things are just so rough for you now. Hang in there my friend. They have to get better. Have faith. And I'm so glad to hear the baby was okay. (((hugs)))

Everyone else, have a good day. I'm rushing off to take the twins to school.
Later!!!
