Girls Only Trip ~ OLD Thread, see link in first post for new one

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

My hubby spoiled me again this year! My big gift was a Ipod touch and a gift card to Disney.

For my hubby I got him a trip to Vegas with 10 other friends in April. I individually wrapped a Vegas calendar with the dates marked, a matchbox plane, a deck of cards, the dvd hangover, and burnt a copy of waking up in vegas song. He did finally figure it out and wasn't mad that I had payed for the trip and booked it without his ok. Beth I may need to twist your arm in taking us girls for a night of girl fun!

I am soooo excited for the trip in February but have alot going on until then. I now have to start planning Katie's sweet sixteen party. It is going to be big and I blame that on her dad since we own a DJ business and he promised her one. But of course mom will do all the planning and shopping. Oh well she only turns sixteen once.

Good news: Christmas dinner tasted great.

Bad news: I'm having to wash sheets and blankets. Apparently you can get the chills with food poisoning too because I'm freezing.

Good news: Maybe I'll lose a few pounds . . . . .

Cheryl, I'm so sorry you got sick from Christmas dinner! I hope you recover quickly and are able to enjoy the rest of the weekend!

I haven't had time to read everything else. I've been really busy with trying to solve a travel dilemma for our family. Spending way too much time online and not enough time on the Dis!

Hey, how did you manage to get 5:10 for the table of six?? I was told they only have 4:20 or 6:00 p.m. for a table of six - so I took 4:20........

1. set alarm for 6:45
2. wake up at 6:40 because you're anxious
3. Have disney dining number by the phone from night before
4. Call at 6:58.
5. Get message about high call volume but don't freak
6. when they answer, immediately say the date, time and number of people at the restaurant.

What time did you call?

Okay so I just got finished with Disney Dining... And I'm sad to report that all I could get for a table of 5 was 330. Everything close that 5 in either direction was booked.

I will call back weekly to see if I can move the time. I couldn't believe that they were booked that quickly. I'm thinking the rest of you Divas got to the phone before me. I wonder how many people can be seated at CC at any given time?

I think 6 is the max, which is why Beth assigned us 6 (although some had smaller).

If we didn't get enough reservations we might have to think of a plan B. Maybe just a counter service or something.

After we got up so early the day after Christmas? Let's hope not....

Hello my Diva babes!

I am exhausted today! Seriously pooped out. I've had a sore throat and bad cough for the last few days though, so that's probably why I'm feeling extra tired this year.

We had a wonderful Christmas. Our boys were thrilled Christmas morning when they saw what Santa brought them. Luke was so cute......he said, "See, I guess we were good after all."

Thank you so much everyone! Santa's visit to our boys wouldn't have been possible without all of you.

You should see our house this morning. It looks like a nerf dart factory exploded!

Our Christmas dinner was delicious too. We had it at my parents' house (because my dad has to stay home.....all of his necessary medical equipment is there). We had ham and turkey, and wow, both were sooooooo good. They were juicy and yummy! We also had potato salad, baked beans, oyster dressing with turkey gravy, fresh baked rolls, and I made my huge special italian tossed salad. My friend Cathy brought some delicious wine to have with dinner, and I've got to say, it was REALLY good wine! Then for dessert, we had pie (of course!). I made apple, pecan, pumpkin, huckleberry, and key lime (which I called Grinch Pie because I added lots of green food coloring to it, and then topped it with whipped cream and green sparkly candy sprinkles).

Cheryl - OH NO! That sounds awful! I hope you're feeling better very soon.

Amy - I hope your puppy doesn't get a tummy ache.

Laurie - I'm so sorry you won't be able to make the trip. I was looking forward to meeting you. You'll be very much missed.

Thank you to everyone who got up early today and made our CC ressies! You Diva's are the best.

We are having a wonderful time. Just got back from the mall. I had hoped to get the Hallmark Mother to be ornament for this year since I have one for all of my other babies. They were sold out already though, so I'll have to watch ebay.

Mom purchased some new clothes for me. Maternity clothes are made so cheap, and the ones I bought for Nathan at threadbare now. I can't wear my normal pants at all now...not even the big ones I bought for MA a couple of weekends ago.

Cheryl, I hope you feel better today.

I dialed right at 7:00 a.m. and then had to wait a bit before I got through. Obviously you and Beth have faster dialing fingers than me I'm going to have to work on that skill I was surprised that they had the "high volume" message already, but then when I saw you and Beth got the 5:10 - I knew it was those sneaky Divas

Steph - I had the same recording playing over and over again but I finally got through after waiting 25 minutes. I called in around 10:15am. I did get our PS ressie though for 4 people @ 5pm!

I can't believe some of you have already taken your trees down. We don't take ours until some time in January.

Anais made pancakes with the Mickey mouse metal mold I gave her for Christmas. I think I want to go to some of the stores today to see if I find anything I like that's on clearance. I definitely need to go buy more diapers for Jingles at Wal-mart.

the kids fell asleep on the way home and ds stayed asleep. I was in bed by 830 and asleep by 9...

That would be amazing on Christmas night, my family has a history of not getting the turkey in early enough. Mom bought a 30lb turkey and it took until 10pm to cook, even then Dad said it wasn't fully done but cut 1 small piece of breast meat for everyone. We're so used to it now we eat a lot during the day The mashed potatoes and stuffing were great though!

As much as it kills me to say this.......I will NOT be able to go in February

It sucks that you won't be able to make it, I was looking forward to meeting you.

Our Christmas morning was wonderful and the kids loved all their toys and clothes. My DH got me a Ipod dock and the usual bra and undies, and boxing day sales started Christmas eve so he bought a 46 inch TV for us
My daughter woke up on the 24rd and threw up so I figured she had eaten to much of the baked goodies we have. Then Christmas afternoon, my son started throwing up at Mom's house and this morning my other Ds is sick and so is my brother. Guess it was more than just pigging out. I hope I don't get it, I have to work tomorrow.

I can't wait for this trip. My friend I'm bringing with me was over on Christmas eve and she's very excited. She just turned 18 and has been to Disneyland Paris with her Mom for 1 day but they didn't really go on any rides.

I am thinking about making a little something for everyone. Do we have a solid count yet? When I look at signups it looks to be around 45ish. If I do that many I may have to mail them to someone driving from Cali or to the hotel. I am still only in the planning stages. I am sure I will have alot of hot pink, black and zebra print left over from the sweet sixteen or maybe I will just save it to decorate Becci and my room with..... just kidding.

Isn't that amazing that Jesse was born on your anniversary? How cool is that?

For future reference, I think the secret is not to dial at 7. I dialed at 6:58 and it made all the difference. Next time I would try calling at 6:50 and see what happens.

Ooooh, then your room will be the party room with those colors.

I think about 45ish is close. I doubt at this point we'll get many more. Maybe one or two who are already planning to be there with family and like to join in last minute to meet up for a meal or something.

The Key Lime pie was delicious (I squeezed the limes by hand. My hand is sore, but fresh lime juice is a MUST for the best pie). I wish I could send you some.

I have a party pillow case, but I can't figure out how to decorate it with extra bling. I'm think wearing layers will be best
