Amy Sue I am sorry they are jacking you around at work. I hope things get better and not worse in the near future!!

Jane I am sorry your hubby was sick. Esp the flu. That is miserable! Hope he is feeling better soon and that you have an awesome visit with your sis!!

Deb I SO know what you mean about your phone. I had just a plane old crappy phone that did nothing fancy. Just a regular old push button flip phone that I have had for the last few years. We have been wanting iphones for days but they are SO expensive and we have had sprint for YEARS and our contract wasn't up till next month. SOOOO we just blew it off. Well when Shane and I had our issues a few weeks back he went out on a whim and bought himself and Lynn the verizon version of the iphone called the droid. He actually got himself the good one and got her a lower version for free (one of those buy one get one free deals). But anyway then when we worked things out he bought me one too. I think there are a few things the iphone does that this doesn't do but in general it is pretty much the same and I LOVE it. Being able to get on the web, check my e-mails etc is awesome! Plus I have never had a camera on my phone before which is nice! Course now that he is laid off I am wishing he would have waited but so be it. I can't change what he did while we were having problems and I certainly wouldn't have done it but I won't say I don't regret having the better phone!

Anyway I am off to work today. Shane is off obviously so he is going to watch the girls and this is prob the only day I am going to go in this week. Get it over with Wrap up the year and then it is TAX time. BLEH! But I need to get it done cuz I NEED my refund!!! Need to pay bills and if I have enough I can use some of it for the trip unless Shane is STILL without work then we may need it but hopefully by THEN he will have found something else!!!

We got out our home movies yesterday too since I was feeling all nostalgic since Katy is turning 10 and I just LOVE seeing the girls when they were babies. I admit I do miss them at that age sometimes but other times I am glad those days are over. I just don't want my babies getting any bigger

The kids then watched a few movies on tv and I hit the sack early. Nothing else really planned for the rest of today or tomorrow and then Thurs of course is NYE and Katy's b-day so most likely we will be going to moms.

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day today and has some fun plans coming up for the next few days!!

So I wanted to share that next year (hopefully in the summer!) I will be going back to school FULL TIME! I've spent enough time working full time and it sucks. I want to go back to school and I will! The only thing is I need to find a part time job that has medical benefits. I'm still at the age where I can go on my parents (Dad's), but it's too expensive to add me on. So back to school I go! WOO!!

Jane, the stomach flu sucks (like Beth said!). Glad you are all feeling better!

Amy Sue, keep up the positive attitude. It's helping me!

Becci, we saw the Blind Side the other day and I thought it was really good too. Plus, I love football movies!

Today is Laila's 1st birthday . I'm meeting my younger sister & niece and she's taking us to Ariels for lunch. My older kids aren't going because their passes are blocked.

Devin will be at a wrestling tournement from 9am-9pm & Adara is going to a friends house.

Hope all the people who are feeling a little sick get better & hope everyone else has a nice day !

OMG, I have two stories to match yours.

The very first trip, I ran into Katie. Now at the time she'd had a pic in her sig of her and her two kids and she looked like she had short hair. Really short. When I met this pretty lady in person, she had hair down her back and I was like, who the heck is this??? I had to sneak a peak at her lanyard.

I remember that & the look of "who the heck are you" on your face . But you weren't the only one that was totally confused by my hair. I heard that from a hand full of people when they finally met me.

Even though Dave and I are both off we sent Ty to school yesterday and will through Thursday. I figure that I am paying for it whether he is there or not and we are all better off with Ty getting to go socialize and do arts & crafts and generally be a crazy 2 year old while I am cleaning up!

I have an iPhone, it is like the touch. I love it! I never knew cell phone love until I met my iPhone I must have just been crushin on my Blackberry. Because I liked it, but LOVE is what I feel for my iPhone.

I totally agree! I had the Blackberry Curve and thought it was the greatest, until I got my iPhone. Wow, what a differance! I still have a little trouble texting on the touch screen though.

That's why I like my droid. It has the keyboard that comes down. I hate typing on the touchscreen too. We didn't ever have texting before but it comes with this phone so I have started to "learn". I am getting into the new millenium

This was the first post I read this morning before work. It made me LOL. Thanks, AmySue for a funny start to a work day!

Speaking of my mother - she came over and watched the kids this evening so dh and I could go catch a movie. We have wanted to see Blind Side. It was really good! I highly recommend it!

Becci, we saw the Blind Side the other day and I thought it was really good too. Plus, I love football movies!

Glad to hear it is a good movie. We are hoping to see it this weekend.

I have a G1 phone and LOVE it. I never really thought I'd use half the stuff on it, but as I learn new apps and things, I love it even more.

I'm off today from both jobs...YAY! My niece wants to have Kallie & Parker over for a sleepover....double YAY! I was hoping to have a nice dinner/movie date w/ DH...but his dad got admitted to the hospital late yesterday after his chemo treatment for severe weight loss, nausea and vomiting. He was having these problems prior to chemo starting but its gotten much worse. I'm hoping they can figure out whats going on and get him on some kind of plan. We will probably end up going up to the hospital this evening, which is totally fine.

We are on day 6 of a broken furnace....brrrrr! Its a darn good thing we don't live anywhere where it gets really cold! lol We had a guy out last night and he is going to give us some quotes today to fix or replace. We've lived here 19+ years and have never done a thing with it. I'm not even sure how old it is. So we'll see how that works out.

Anybody score any after Christmas deals? I have not even been out to a store since before Christmas.

Jill, we still have the furnance that was in our house when we bought it many years ago so these things can last. Sometimes it is just the starter piece, we've had that replaced.

Deb, I had to smile at your iPhone love. I totally understand this. It's like having a mini computer with you, everywhere you go. It rivals my car for the most usual electronic gadget in my life.

My MIL's last day here and we're trying to figure out what to do - DH doesn't want to drive really far and she is limited with walking, (but did fine at the zoo). So we may suggest to her the natural history museum or the Getty (which she has seen before).

I can do better than that! I don't even have a text plan on my iphone! I can count on one hand the number of texts I have sent!
However - I send emails from my iPhone all the time! I figured that since anybody that I would be texting has email on their phone I didn't need to pay extra per month just to text - I would just send it as an email.
I will probably have to add texting when my dd gets a phone. But that isn't going to happen until she is at least 13.

Hi everyone & Happy Tuesday!

Hope those of you who've been feeling under the weather are starting to feel better now.

Glad the ultra-sound came out well, & am looking forward to seeing pics (I remember seeing my children for the first time, and the new technology is so much better now!)

Also, please pass my best to Heather on her new adventure in having her own little one. That is a huge decision.

And, happy birthday to Laila.

Hope your holidays have been nice. Mine have been. I really miss my mom (passed in 1995) and dad (passed in 2005). I have one brother who's made some really bad decisions in his life, and I've been helping him, but told him that January will be the last month I pay his rent, so there is this underlying sadness to this season for me. However, I went to my ex-sis-in-law's house (my ex's sister) in San Diego for Christmas dinner, and spent a really nice time with her and her family, and then celebrated our Christmas on the 27th when my kids came home. It was really nice. I received thoughtful gifts from them, and that means so much to me.

Nick (my son) turned 22 yesterday, and the night before we had dinner at a Brazilian Churrasquería (the boy likes meat). Again, a very nice evening.

I have this week off of work, so I have plans to clean out my room completely, and see movies. Kelly & I saw the Princess & the Frog for the first time yesterday. We really enjoyed it. It was also fun to hear the kids laughing out loud, and there were quite a few sniffles during a particular scene in the movie.

On our list for this week (or later) are "It's Complicated," "Avatar," and "Sherlock Holmes." I was able to get discounted AMC tix through my work, so that's what we'll be using.
