Just thought I'd share this photo of a friend of mine (some of you also know her on Facebook) who went to a redneck party and was crowned "Queen Redneck". I love her look! lol
She of course gave me permission to post this. LOL

That's a better rate than the military discount! Okay, next question, does anyone want to split a room? Not sure if I can swing the whole thing by myself, especially the month before our WDW trip. I'm not necessarily a fan of splitting a room with people that I don't know all that well, but I'm willing to risk it for the Divas. Unless this is all a ruse to steal my kidneys and leave me in the hotel bathtub filled with ice. Then we may have a problem.

I'm super tidy (room inspections in the Army are at fault for that) and sleep like a rock, especially after a cocktail or two. I am often an early riser on park days, but again, because of the Army I've learned to be quiet and not wake my roomies when we are on different schedules or have different sleeping habits.

I'm gonna go ahead and book it tomorrow and hope that I can find someone to share with me. This locks it in just a bit more for me. I have to go if I have the room booked, right?!

I have to go if I have the room booked, right?!

Yep, true story. ::yes::

I am sure you will find someone to share a room with you. Especially with all the newer ladies we have who will also be looking for a roommate. :)

A note to all the newbies: It might seem strange to room with someone you don't know, but we all did it at some point.
Actually, on this last trip, I ended up rooming with two ladies I didn't know. Even though I've been around since day one, it was their first trip. They were perfect roomies and I was fortunate to stay with them!! :goodvibes

OKay, the front page is now updated with the Meet and Greet information for 2013.
I have also started the Hotel/Roommate list since a couple of you have already started booking rooms. If you have booked a room, please check and make sure I have your name on there, along with any roommates. If you have booked a room and are wanting a roommate, I can note that on there as well.

So far, all rooms booked have been at Hojo Anaheim, so let me know if you are booked elsewhere.

Thanks!!

Well, you still look great and act like a kid, so who cares! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Thanx Beth!!!......I do act like a kid.....hard to believe I'll be 50 in September!! :scared1::rotfl:

*raises hand* :rolleyes1

:sad2: Man do I feel old........ :headache:

Laurie I saw on your FB about your HS. Don't worry I feel old too. I am turning 45 this week. EEK! Only 5 years to 50. SCARED!!!

Not to scare you or anything, but I felt great when I was 45, but the last 4 yrs everything is going to pot......it's like your body goes.....OMG there's gravity!!! :rotfl2: That and everything hurts, your stomach can't tolerate foods like it used to and I can barely make it to 10pm now!!! Oh, to be young again........

You do need either an Entertainment Card or an Annual Pass for the retro rate :thumbsup2

Really?? I had no clue.....I thought they came up with the Retro Rate so anyone could get it........sorry about that Andrea. :guilty:

Today started out ok, but as most of you know.....I lost my step-dad I guess, right after midnight. I just didn't get notified until mid-morning today. We knew it was coming as hospice had been providing his care for the last 2-3 weeks but it's never easy. This makes 3 parents in 7 months......I think that's more than enough........I'd really like to see the rest of this year be on a happier note. :sad1:

Anywhos.......glad the theme of the Meet-n-Greet seems to be liked......we should have a great time y'all!! :thumbsup2

Can i just say that I so approve of the M&G theme!!!!!!!

I booked at Hojo's for mom and me today. We're in, baby!

Lisa or Camomama (what's your first name?) I am planning on going and having a roommate or two is the best for me. So I am a good, fun, clean and friendly roommate. I do have a cpap machine and it's a little noisy but much better than hearing me snore.:lmao: So if either of you want me, or if anyone else does please let me know.
Beth are you taking the bus again? I may join you on it if you do, or we can split a rental and drive. You let me know.
I am going to Disney on June 22nd with my whole family before our visit to my sister's baby shower on the 23rd.
I have my purple and pink shirts all ready and can't wait to see what this years will look like.
The theme sounds like a lot of fun.
Oh Beth can you add my picture to the thread. I am going this year. Already saving up and will not be getting pregnant nor shall I let myself have a pulmonary embolism the month prior.lol :thumbsup2 I can send you the picture or if you want to take it from my fb it's in my profile pics. I want the one with Minnie ears on.

So I have to say....I just love, love, love the theme. It makes it that much harder to admit that I don't think I'll be able to make it this year. The trip is the weekend before I have a major yearly project due at work. Darn work. Also, we are planning a trip to Europe that is pretty much going to kill the budget for the year. I wish I was independently wealthy. I will truly miss seeing you all. I can't wait to follow along on all the planning. I'm hooked already.

Laurie, sorry to hear about another loss in your family. You're in my prayers.

Capri, congrats on the new boat. What fun you'll have this summer.

Katie, so glad to hear you're dating someone you get along well with. You deserve to be treated well.....w/o drama!

Jill, boy your vacation sounds so fun. Take lots of pictures and have a great time.

Lisa, I'd be your roomie if I was planning on going on the trip. It would have been so much fun. Good luck with that busy schedule of yours. Don't forget to take a break here and there.

And welcome to the new Divas. This is a great group. Virtually impossible to have a bad time with them. They'll have you laughing the whole weekend.

So even though no trip for me, I will be following along on every planning detail. It will be like almost being there......OK, pretty much not but I have to take what I can get.

45? That happened to me when I turned 35!!

I wanted to say I am so sorry about your step-dad. I know this was not unexpected, but it's never easy. My thoughts are with you and your family, Laurie.

You're funny. Glad you're going to make it though!
If I get a chance tonight after the kids go to bed, I'll add your photo tonight. If not, then tomorrow for sure.
Oh, and as for the bus....I don't know yet. Probably. But, we can talk more about that later.

Aww, Jodi, I am bummed you won't be there! :sad2: But, I suppose if you have to miss it for something, a trip to Europe is as good a reason as any!

I can't decide what to do. I was originally planning on using my points to stay at GCH in a studio for the trip but the rates at the Hojo's are very tempting. I think it would be a lot more fun to stay where the main group is at too, but I love the Grand. Why so I have to be so indecisive? :confused3 Is anyone else planning to stay at Grand and is it a very long walk to the parks from the Hojo's?

Laurie - I'm so sorry for your loss. So sad and very hard. I know. (((HUGS)))

Jodi - Thank you! We're so excited about our new boat! But I am major bummed you won't be able to come on this trip. Like seriously bummed. But I"m so excited for you. What an amazing experience it will be to go to Europe! Jealous! :woohoo:

Tina - I am so excited you and your mom can make it this year...for the whole trip! YAY! :cheer2:

Kandace - The walk from the HOJO to the parks isn't bad. About 8-10 minutes. And it is a LOT of fun to stay where the group is staying. (That's not to say that if a good deal was going on at the Grand for our dates that I wouldn't be tempted. On the other hand....when was the last time there was a good deal at the Grand? )

Tracey - Yes, it would be ouchie to cook bacon while naked. But exciting? Justin says "Yes!" :thumbsup2

Theresa - Can't wait to see our stylin' Redneck Barbie! You'll rock it! :woohoo:

Yay Tina is going! And I'm glad your mamma is coming too :thumbsup2!

Laurie~ I'm so sorry for your loss. That's a lot of sadness in 7 months :sad1:.

So I have to say....I just love, love, love the theme. It makes it that much harder to admit that I don't think I'll be able to make it this year.

Awww, that's too bad. I'm going to miss drunk Jodi (and sober Jodi too);).

We were fortunate to have you!

Hi Kandy! Haven't heard from you for awhile, how are you? How's the new business going? Or did you go back to insurance? I think the walk from Hojo's is pretty brutal at the end of the night (but I am a lazy-bones-jones middle aged out of shape woman, ugh:sad2:), but it is a very clean hotel with a wonderful staff and free parking. It's fun when a group of us stays there, I have shared a few bottles of wine and great conversation with many lovely ladies in their rooms ;). I would stay at the Grand if the points weren't so high, so I am saving them for later in the year. I would probably stay at the Grand if it's your only trip there this year, but you will have fun at Hojo's too!

Laurie, so sorry for your loss. It's been a tough year for you, right?

Jodi, we will miss your smiling face and happy self. Enjoy your trip next week with your DD. :thumbsup2

Heather, I just wanted to say I have been following your TR. It's great! I used to go solo quite a bit when DD worked at DL and went to school FT and DH refused to go. Now I just make DD go with me all the time - HA:laughing: Solo trips can be very fulfilling, I may do a few this year to get my moneys worth from my PAP.

I would be very interested in a non-Disney day. I could also drive to wherever we decide to go. But I am kind of liking the train to SD idea (yeah Chris:)). If there are enough of us maybe we could have a hired van pick us up and take us to our destination. I am actually thinking of staying at the Hotel Del Coronado this year. I love it there.

Remember the Beth Barbie? She was hysterical sitting on the bathroom sink, aka jacuzzi.

Tina and Donna are in like Flynn, yippee!!

And the final note on my very long blog is that....CAPRI, YOU ROCK!!!:dance3:

Perhaps we need a Diva Billy impersonator for the entertainment portion of the evening? ::yes::

Can i just say that I so approve of the M&G theme!!!!!!!

I booked at Hojo's for mom and me today. We're in, baby!

So Tina, you need to use your charm and get Billy to come entertain us!! Am so glad you and your mom are coming! We didn't see much of you on the last trip!!

Love the theme! I'll have to pull out some overalls and my combat boots. Maybe I'll have grown my hair out a bit by then and I can do pigtails. Fun!

Pigtails... adding to my ideas list...

Thanx Beth!!!......I do act like a kid.....hard to believe I'll be 50 in September!! :scared1::rotfl:

I SO know what you mean about turning 50, mine is in January and it really SUCKS!!! In my mind, I'm not that old though, luckily!! I do stay up until about midnight, but that's only because I don't get up until around 9am :rolleyes1

So sorry to hear about your step-dad. That's very similar to what happened to my sister-in-law, first her step-dad, then her mom, then her father-in-law (my dad), all in the same year. Her step-dad was expected, but not her mom AT ALL!! And not really my dad either.

Good morning and happy hump day, ladies!!

Michele, I added your photo to the front page. If anyone else wants their photo added as well, let me know.

I don't know if anyone else is staying there. I think because the points were higher a lot of people decided to stay elsewhere. But, then again, we have a big group and only a few who've made a decision thus far.
I don't think the walk to Hojo's is that bad, except like Linda said at the end of the night when you are tired. At that point though, any walk is bad. lol

And it is a LOT of fun to stay where the group is staying.
I second this!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Oh, good! Another who's in for a non-Disney day. I was worried that by even suggesting such blasphemy I might get voted off the island. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I remember Barbie Beth! That was so funny, and sweet. Made me smile.
I still have her wild photos!

I remember as a teenager thinking how OLD 50 was.....I look in the mirror and go.......I can't be 50!! I sure don't act like I'll be 50 this year. Sleeping until 9am sounds heavenly!! Our household is up anytime from 5:45 to 7am. We celebrate the 7am's!!!

Thank You Stacie!! I know I'm not the only one that's had this happen. Hard to wrap my mind around it.......I told my mom not to even think about it!!! :sad2:
