You never realize how much you need all that stuff until you are forced to go without it!

Just stopping by to say hello. I've been lurking, but haven't commented cause I would have just been complaining about the weather too! We had some snow today. It's mid-April, we need some sun!

We leave for WDW in just two days. On the inside I feel like bouncing off the walls (like this: ) But I am trying to hold it together, cause if I do that on the outside, Dillon might change his mind about going with me!

Kerri is she doing it for community service? My daughter needs 6 hours each semester and she got part of hers volunteering at my younger daughter's school with their talent show but she still needed a few more so this was perfect. I know she would have rather done something less "messy" lol but I think they will have fun. It is through parks and rec and they have a craft for them at the end and then supposedly a bbq although the last few emails I got didn't mention it so not sure if that is still happening.

While she is off with her dad Shelby and I have a bunch of errands to run and then we are going to be continuing with our Disney marathon. We started watching movies last night and watched Aladin, Up and Nemo. Hoping to watch a bunch more this weekend. Love doing that cuz I haven't watched a lot of them in awhile.

Our weather is supposed to be clearing up so looking forward to that and praying for no rain for the camping trip next week!!

YAY it seems the new servers are making things run much faster. YAY!!! Finally!!!

Katy and her dad had a good time doing the creek week and he had to have some minor surgery last week so he wanted to go home and rest so Shelby and I took her to the after party and she got a T-shirt and they gave us lunch so it was fun.

Then we just hung out and had more of our marathon and enjoyed the nice weather. After all that crazy stuff last week it was nice to just go out and take a walk in the sun!!

One more day tomorrow and then Katy and I leave. We are really excited!

The topic of the week is....
weather!


I can turn all of ya into Minnesoootans, first topic of conversation any time you chat with family or neighbors... the weather. Next is your car, broken or otherwise. Last is "So, what are your kids up to these days?"

Neighbor expressed concern over the storm coming our way and Eloy still hasn't run yet (dialysis treatment at home.. for those who do not understand Bernice speak). We don't have local TV (even our fancy --ie expensive- new TVs could not find a signal) so I had to go sleuthing on weather websites. Tornado watch-- ho hum, nothing new there.. it was humid today, of course we have a watch duhhhh it's typical twin cities metro and an ugly storm warning.. awesome! It's just starting now, I already have windows closed and tucked a towel in the bedroom window as I know it will leak in a heavy downpour. (Gotta get the maintenance dude to caulk the outside.) Eh, it's not even that bad of a storm. I feel cheated.

Bahhhhh- chance of snow 40% on Monday morning (mixed with rain, so just "wetter" rain -- is that possible??) but we warm up to 60.. ooo heat wave!! Take that evil S! HA!

Lisa, how did your plants fare?

The freesia got pelted pretty bad, but they were half spent anyway. one of the tomatoes has a little leaf damage, but the 3 blossoms survived (it's an "early girl" variety). The other tomato looks good. My sage is blooming and the rain helped knock most of the rosemary blossoms off, so the bees will be done there soon and I can prune that bush back. It's WAY out of control! I have a new rose blooming on the bush in the front yard and at least 2 buds on my Princess Di rose in the back yard. The hail did some damage to some of the hosta leaves, but not too bad. Ditto for the cyclamen, but they are a little more sheltered and the hosta protected some of them. That's my garden update. LOL

DBF and I went to Disneyland yesterday. It wasn't too crowded.

Last night was the last night ever of ElecTRONica. It was PACKED! I'm excited to see the new Mad Tea Party themed dance area.

I've been *trying* to plan our trip to Disneyland this fall, but with my mom coming along, it uhhhhhhh, complicates things.

We're going to have to stay on property I think, which is mucho more, but perhaps necessary. I know my mom will need to have easy access back and fourth to her room to take rests while we're at the parks. Another possibility is staying at the Candy Cane Inn because it has it's own private shuttle, and by the sounds of it, their shuttle runs on a very reliable schedule, so she wouldn't be standing or waiting for very long. Maybe that would work.

Anyway, no matter where we stay, I hope she is able to relax and enjoy herself. May have to serve her a mimosa each morning before heading out.

We will be staying at the Cancun Palace, all inclusive, with 750 per person room credit for tours and stuff! It will be a blast...you know you want to! I've been so busy with work and school that I've barely been on here.
This past weekend I took my EWP, also known as the English writing proficiency exam. It's required for graduation but I find it completely ridiculous. If I passed all required english classes I think I can effectively communicate via written word. Whatever.

I agree, there should be an alternative verification of skills. Like, yes, if you passed the required english classes, which as I recall, require a huge amount of writing. That being said, having supervised over 100 real estate agents, I have observed a LOT of deplorable written communication skills, and think setting a standard for that is a great idea!

And I am sure the above message is riddled with grammar issues

To all the Divas who remember me getting a speeding ticket on the way to the ladies trip, I'm going to court today to fight it . It's only a plea hearing so I still won't know anything for a month or two, but me and Laila will be going to Disneyland after court .

Are you going to get get 2 rooms onsite?? That could get pricey . I think Candy Cane is a nice option and even some of the hotels right across the street are about the same or even closer than walking to the Disney resorts.

I was playing around with the idea of getting two rooms onsite, but it's just so expensive. Like "eeeek" inducing expensive.

Then I thought about renting points and getting two studios (changing our dates to the end of September and first week of October) but at this point there probably aren't any studios left.

I think we'll end up either at the HOJO or the Candy Cane Inn....or the Worldmark Anaheim. But if we choose the HOJO or Worldmark, Justin or myself will need to be mom's taxi driver if she needs to go back to her room to rest. But hey, that's okay. Besides, I think she has more energy and spunk left in her than she thinks.

I wish I could talk her into going to WDW. Free dining is very tempting - lol. But she said she doesn't want to fly that far. Darn. Boo.

Disneyland after court is always a good idea.

My life has been super busy working at the tax office but today is tax day!
That means I will probably be working until waaaay late and then first thing tomorrow morning I need to go in to close down my office and transfer all the files to the district office. Then Thursday I will get my review and hopefully find out what my bonus will be for my office hitting our goals.
I have spent it already as I decided yesterday that I am going to Aulani next month!
