5 DAYS DIVAS!!!!

I tell you, I really am looking forward to this trip.....Its been a rough couple months with the loss of my stepmom & my dad....but news yesterday about getting Michayla in....like NOW.....to have her open heart surgery has me a bit rattled. I'll go on the trip & a week later, we'll be going to Portland for the surgery. It just seems so unfair to put a 4 yr old thru something like that.....heavy sigh. Anyways, I went last night for therapy.....I mean Karaoke!! :rotfl: The guy that runs it took a couple videos of me singing (for any of you interested).....I've shared one of the videos on my Facebook page....he hasn't uploaded the 2nd one yet. The video is a song from the movie~~Chicago. Queen Latifah sang it in the movie "When You're Good to Mama".....I love doing this song & getting the men all embarrassed......lol

Now on to packing!! Have a great weekend ladies!!!

Keeping Michayla in my family's thoughts and prayers. *hugs*

Okay...I am trying to book Super Shuttle. The flight out of SNA Orange County is at 8:15 am. Super shuttle wants to pick us up at 5 am. Do we really need that much time?

Theresa- can I meet you in Blaine? You could bring that amazing cream for everyone & cupcakes from Cupcakes? (I'll mail everyone their cream for their aches & pains, but I'm not sharing the cupcakes lol)

If my plane leaves at 5 PM what time should I adjust for the shuttle?

I hope I am well by the time Wednesday rolls around. I've been feeling run down and Ruben said he feels like he's getting sick. :sad2: I've been taking Airborne and Zinc. That's about all I can do!

Yuck, sounds exactly like what I had. The good news is that you should be well over it by Wednesday, but the bad news is that it sucks in the meantime. Hope you feel better soon!

You have been through so much lately! Hang in there and keeping Michayla and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Yikes, 3 1/4 hours in advance?!! Well.......you won't miss your flight, that's for sure. ;) :rolleyes1

Are you leaving Sunday or Monday? Jodi and I are sharing a cab on Sunday. (Her flight is at 4:15 and mine is at 4:30.) You would get there a bit early for your flight, but you probably would anyway taking a shuttle. You're more than welcome to share a cab with us.

I imagine we'll want to catch a cab to SNA around 2:45.

Don't put the flight number in, just play around with the time so that it says they're picking you up about 1 1/2 hours ahead of time, that's really all the time you need. That's what I always do.

This is a good trick to know! Thanks Stacie! :thumbsup2

Question for all - my daughter and I are going to Disneyland the first week of June and I'm trying to decide where to stay. I would love to splurge and stay at the Disneyland Hotel but I just don't know. How about the Fairfield Inn across the street...has anyone stayed there? What are your favorite hotels?

I have stayed at Carousel, Desert Inn, DH (many, many years ago when they had a fountain light show at night), HOJOs, Super 8, and Quality Inn on S. Manchester. I like QI for the free waffles and low rates, but dislike the walk after a long day. Hojos was great, but again, the walk can be tiresome. Both Carousel and Desert are nice and close, clean, and affordable, but can parking fees. If you can splurge, splurge on the DL hotel. We would love to stay there again someday.

The DH took the DSs to the movies so the house is nice and quiet while I rest and pack. I'm having some lady issues today and just need to not move very much :sad2:

Laurie~ hugs to you

Carol~ I sent you a message on FB :)

I didn't see Holly's name down for Cafe Orleans or Surfs Up - she is attatched to my hip for meals :rotfl: I see that the SU has a ressie for 10 and only 9 people, so that looks ok. Will we be ok for CO?

Yes - both ressies have an open spot so no problems!

Only have to go into work two days next week then four days at the Happiest Place on Earth :dance3:

Everytime I get something done on my to do list the list seems to get longer. Lucky my son is 15 and can take care of himself (or tell his grandma) if i forget to get anything he might need while I am gone.

If that's not perfect timing I don't know what is. So glad I could squeeze it in while I'm already there. But at least my boss would have supported me if I needed to take unexpected time off short notice, but now I don't have to worry about it.

:grouphug: Thanks everyone! And you'll all be the first to know how it goes, lol.

I have been following along here and on facebook. So excited for you. It will be so fun to work at Disneyland. My cousin tells me instead of retiring I should go work for disney.

Disneystore.com is having a 25% off everything sale with code HAPPY25. :upsidedow

I have been tempted

Those can be bought in can :rotfl:

With two free checked pieces of luggage with Southwest - should I pack decorations in one suitcase or ship it?

And Monica (or someone else?), maybe after CoD or another time - would someone be willing to take me to the store to buy Disneyland tickets for my students?

What store do you need to go to. We can go after we finish with our shopping trip.

Well I can't wait to meet everyone in 5 days.:cheer2:

I am a James Garner or Tom Selleck kinda gal myself:lovestruc

Daisy, 5 am is way too early but Monday mornings the traffic is awful, so I would give yourselves 2 hours. 6:15 or 6:30 am would give you plenty of time.

70's is perfect for me. I just really hope for no rain. I don't like getting wet or being cold. I am a wimp, I know. :upsidedow

For anyone staying at the Grand who wants their M&G treats taken over to the Carousel, there will be a box at Bell Services starting Thurs at noon and I will be driving it over to Wendy at 3:45 pm. It's posted on our FB thread but wanted to put it here in case anyone missed it.

I can't wait to see and meet everyone too Moncia!
FIVE DAYS!:dance3:

Here is the current forecast from the National Weather Service:

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 75.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 50.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 71.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 50.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 68.

Accuweather says highs of 77 Thurs, 79 Friday and 72 Saturday. 72 would be nice, but I hope NWS is closer for Thursday and Friday!

Who am I kidding, I'm still 5 most days.
:thumbsup2

Our sandwich fundraiser made almost $195,000.00 in 3 days!! I am exhausted, but life goes on. :faint:

Wow! That's awesome! :yay:

I would love to splurge and stay at the Disneyland Hotel but I just don't know. How about the Fairfield Inn across the street...has anyone stayed there? What are your favorite hotels?

I have stayed at several...

We stayed at Fairfield Inn once, it was fine and close to the walkway is a nice perk. The room felt a bit small as we had 5 people and I recall being concerned with my youngest kiddo because there is a BIG gap at the bottom in the outdoor walkways. The door was hard to open, wind kinda rushes around and howls - we put towels down to block it out at night.

Hojo's is my preferred Disneyland home. Awesome rates, not too terrible of a walk and awesome service. Very comfy.

Marriot and Hilton by convention center, too long of a walk with kids. Comfy but I recall the Hilton looking "aged" and the elevators took forever. We loved the view and loved the multiple hot tubs on their roof top pool deck.

I have been to various locations for the Best Western, all okay - some nicer than others, some very long walks. Park Place Inn is right at the crosswalk, I find the rooms to be very dark and the pool is right next to parking lot. I read on trip advisor they are updating the free breakfast with pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs.

Holiday Inn on Walnut (very first trip), too long to walk. Was not happy with staff and had safety concerns as they were in midst of construction (heavy glass door was propped but not engaged on top, it almost fell on my kid. Told staff and they just shrugged it off like no big deal).

Stayed at an Ayres Hotel, it's very far out (near the stadium) - must use bus or car. But it was beautiful, comfy bed, spacious room and a deluxe hot free breakfast every morning (eggs, toast, pancakes, sausage/bacon, fruit, cereals, oatmeal, juice/coffee/tea - very attentive staff clearing tables, cooking more food, serving). Not much to do around the hotel, no stores - maybe one restaurant.

Sheraton - the one that's not far from Mickey and Friends parking (? Sheraton at the park??). Has their own shuttle, enormous rooms, plush comfy beds. Very pretty.

One stay at Disneyland Hotel, nice splurge and we loved it! Love reading about the renovations and eager to see the grounds now that it is done. :goodvibes
