Anyone else remember Tiger Beat Magazine?????

Lisa - I had a light blue satin jacket with Shawn Cassidy's picture on the back. I think I was about 9 or 10 when I got it. It was the best Christmas present ever. I thought I was the coolest.

So today was productive for me -

....but most importantly, and surprising, I found a tealish, greenish, blueish color shirt that I actual like and actual fits. It was the best find of the day.

I'm still having doubts about the lime green day. I tried my t-shirt on and it just makes me look ill. I think it might make other people ill too. The lime green and pasty white skin is just not a good mix. I'm just going to have to see.

For those of you that are not doing the dinner on Friday night, do you have any plans? I'm hoping to tag along with someone.

Yea to a short week! 2 days for me too. I can't wait to get out of there. I'm actually going to stay at a hotel down by the airport on Wednesday night so I'm getting an extra long vacation.

Theresa- can I meet you in Blaine? You could bring that amazing cream for everyone & cupcakes from Cupcakes? (I'll mail everyone their cream for their aches & pains, but I'm not sharing the cupcakes lol)

Sure thang - and we live about 10 minutes away from Cupcakes :thumbsup2 You can do goodie bags for the M&G with the Voltaren cream ;) Voltaren and Aleve are good friends here right now with the move (crap, are we getting old or what????)

I don't know how I forgot this, but my kids have a four day weekend! Monday is, of course, President's Day, and Tuesday it's a staff development day. I'm glad I get to spend extra time with them, since I'll be leaving on Wednesday.

Four day weekend :scared1: Yikes. Just two day weekend here (other parts of Canada have a three day weekend - Monday is Family Day in other provinces. I guess BC isn't family oriented or maybe just too cheap for another stat holiday????) I hope you feel better before you leave - but I say go for the spray tan. If it doesn't work out, take pics so I can have a good day too, yes??? :rolleyes1 C'mon, I'm working too hard and I need a good laugh (and Betty as an Oompa Loompa would be fairly funny to see....... for me at least :confused3)

Holy Hannah, my son is a stark raving terror now that he has his learner's permit. He wants to drive all the time, but heaven forbid anyone tell him any pointers. He's 16 and he knows, OK??? Um, no, not so okay. I won't be driving with him for a while. The bummer is he has to drive my car because he can't fit behind the wheel of Frank's car :rotfl: I have a huge old Ford Taurus and Frankie has a Suzuki, so Jesse's 6'5" body is so not squeezing in there........ I think this should not be allowed - a 16 year old with a learner's permit and being a new grandparent all at the same time. Sheeoot, I'm feeling older by the second.

Trudi he was my first crush as a little girl. Little Joe Cartwright from Bonanza

Hardy boys!!! Loved them!
I used to read Tiger Beat, 16 magazine and Datebook.

Anyone still looking for lime green tees? I saw them today at Walmart in the craft section and also at Joanns.

I'll get my suitcase out tomorrrow and start packing a few things. I can't wait to see eveyone again!!!

Quickie post from me.

I've got one sick husband, one sick kid, but no bus ticket. It was just such a busy day! I spent it cleaning, sanitizing, running errands, playing nurse and just trying to keep myself well. I am exhausted. Hopefully I do not catch their cold, but I was already feeling run down, so... :confused3

Night night!

I did a lot of that same checklist today! LOL

I am not thrilled about the lime green either. I may skip it. I did last year. I have a cute shirt that is the right color, but it truly makes me look like death. NAS. TY. (it is NOT a shirt I bought - it was given to me to wear for a trade show that I ended up not attending)

Lisa - I had a light blue satin jacket with Shawn Cassidy's picture on the back. I think I was about 9 or 10 when I got it. It was the best Christmas present ever. I thought I was the coolest.

I had a pink satin jacket, but no picture on it. LOL

I have learned that I am too old/out of shape to chase and capture a demon Yorkshire Terrier. OMG. I can barely walk. My legs were a little sore when I got up this morning, but now it's MAJOR PAIN. That Voltaren stuff sounds positively DIVINE right now, but I'll have to settle for "Blue Goo" and aleve.

And every time I hear a friend going thru the saga of the learner's permit, I am again thankful that my children had fur..... LOL

I have all my "day shirts" selected. Picking which actual-color teal I was going to wear was more of a challenge than I though (just be happy I'm not wearing my Sharks jersey). I did decide that instead of going with straight lime green I'm wearing one of the shirts I got during the Tinkerbell Half. It's got a tiny dash of the color in there somewhere. That's th ebest you'll get out of me.

I'm just now getting ready for what could be one of my very last shift doing this particular job. Every Sunday minus very few occasions where I had vacation (never once called in sick) for the last 5+ years have been spent in this department and u until recently had been my only overnight shift each week. It's kind of weird!

Lisa you and I must be close in age because they were def my idols as well LOL. I liked Parker more than Shaun though. But I LOVED watching the Hardy boys and yes I too had a satin jacket LOL. I got it the christmas of 6th grade which for me was in 1979. Mine was Red and blue and oh man did I think I was cool LOL. I also got a pair of peach colored satin pants and wore them to a school dance in 7th grade. EEK! Do you guys remember those sailor pants that had the bib thing with the buttons one either side. Or the ones that tied in the front and the back. YIKES! But hey that was way cool then!! ;)

I "officially" give up! I have walked around in stores for weeks looking for a villain related gift and I'm at a loss. SO...yesterday while out thrifting, DD & I come up with a brilliant non-villain gift idea. We started scouring the shops for Vintage Disney items and surprisingly found a few neat things. So whoever gets my gift had better like the 1960's!:rotfl2::thumbsup2 I figure somebody will either really think it's cool :thumbsup2 or wonder why some crazy lady bought used stuff for the exchange.

I guess I'm just shopping at the wrong places, because none of the stores I go to seem to have villain merchandise...where do you all go??...Villains R Us?:lmao:

Going to grab the suitcase out today and start packing.:yay:

Thanks for that trip back down memory lane. I was a big Leif Garrett fan (WOW, can't believe I just put that down in print!). Anywho, I had a Burgundy satin jacket and I was COOL!:rotfl2: I remember me & my bff were looking at the label in our "satin" jackets one day and discovered they were actually made out of Acetate (whatever that is). So we made up a little song..."ain't I great, got a jacket made out of acetate". I actually have photos of me wearing that burgundy satin jacket and a pair of peach colored corduroy goucho's. UGGH!

Anyone else remember Tiger Beat Magazine?????

Loved Tiger Beat! My most prized possession in my teens was the centerfold from Tiger Beat magazine that had Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy & Donny Osmond! I kissed the poster before going to bed each night!! :scared1:

As yes, had a satin jacket also! And Hot Pants!! And Espadrille Shoes!! And I had a mini dress that was so short that I could not bend down to get water at the water fountain at school!

I was at a Bobby Sherman concert in Disneyland. It was such a madhouse that he sang one song and they stopped the concert because of safety reasons. We ended up getting free tix to Disneyland because it was a special event ticket we went on and he was the main reason we had gone.

I am going to start pulling stuff to pack and making my checklist today. It is getting down to the wire"

I woke up Thursday with my lower back in screeching pain that has gotten worse. I am taking some muscle relaxers and naproxen. It does seem better today, so I am hopeful that I will be better for the trip. What fun!

I can't wait to see everyone again and to meet new people since I was not there last year.

:worship: Wow, you actually saw him in person? I had to settle for wall-to-wall pictures from all the magazines. I recently got the first season of "Here Come the Brides" from the library and had SO MUCH FUN watching it! I remembered that I took turns having crushes on all of the brothers. Then later there was a time when I was actually trying to figure out how I could marry Parker Stevenson, and by that time I was already married! I used to wonder at what age these crushes would stop, and clearly none of has has reached that age yet whatever it is.
