Oh! So it looks like my son's dad is in jail, AGAIN!

OMG something must be in the water. My ex is currently in jail (what a winner). But I feel you on the whole I wish he was just out of my life thing. The older kids are glad he's gone, but poor Laila :guilty:. The other day she told me "mommy, I almost forgot my daddies name." I almost broke down and then I got the urge to strangle him!!! How can he be such a screw up when he has such beautiful kids :sad1:.

I hope your son realizes what a great mom you are and that he is better off with out his biological dad, but he might be a teenager before that happens. Just give him hugs and let him know how much you love him. That's all I can do because you can't change a looser.

sorry I've been AWOL lately, have been dealing with my Mom's health issues. I am looking forward to the trip just to be away from it for a while!

:hug::hug::hug:

I can relate. I hope your mom is okay.

:hug::hug::hug:

Well, this upcoming week is going to be crazy busy! :dance3: It is Farm Show steak sandwich week. :faint: Oh why does it have to happen now? About a week of my life will be dedicated to it. :sad2: It starts on Saturday getting the booth ready. Sunday and Monday we cut up over 10,000 pounds of ribeye meat and season it. Monday we also sell a few sandwiches to the some of the vendors to get our feet wet. Then Tuesday to Thursday all heck breaks out!!! This is the fundraiser that we bring in over $150,000.00 in 3 days. It makes me tired just telling you about it. Needless to say, this Friday is my goal to have all the tees done. :thumbsup2

Mel~ You are Super Woman and you amaze me! If I lived closer, I'd totally help you out with the tees and the fundraiser.

OK everyone, I have a HUGE favor to ask. Can you all please keep your finger, toes, eyes, legs and anything else that can be crossed, crossed? I made a little boo boo on my tax return and I have to wait until tomorrow to call and find out if my refund went to someone else or not. If I don't get my refund, that means I wont be able to go to on the trip. :sad2: I swear, I should not be trusted with numbers.

WHAT!!!! You B:Pinkbounc:PinkbouncTY is going even if your tax refund is screwed up!! I'm sending you a message on FB.

I hope it all turns out for the best....but your going...end of story!

Please take my name off the attendee list.

Ended up with a rather short notice trip to Florida in early March, long story. Between that and someone quitting at work I had to cut our DL trip short.

Wishing everyone a great trip. Hopefully I can participate another year.

Nothing much to say to that... :( Just wanted to give you a hug of support.

Sorry to hear it's not going to work for you to join us. Maybe next time! :wizard:

Hi, Sarah! :yay:

Another drive-by-hi!

Hugs to all that need 'em!

Did you know that doing good for others actually has health and emotionally benefits? Stephen Post, Ph.D., head of the Institute for Research on Unlimited Love, told WebMD: “This is the care-and-connection part of the brain. States of joy and delight come from giving to others."

So I was thinking that we could do something for ourselves by helping out the favorite charity of the DIS - GIVE KIDS THE WORLD (GKTW). Not to be a broken record, but they're a great organization doing great things for kids who need it the most. Let's help make some dreams come true for kids in need!!

Here's my idea. I'm looking at getting some special treats made for our trip - yummy M&Ms!! If I can get enough interest, I'll be selling mini-packs (1 oz.) of DIS DIVA M&Ms for $5/pack. After costs of M&M's, about $2.50 per mini-pack of M&Ms will go to GKTW. I need to order at least 100 packs, so I have to make sure there's enough interest to go forward.

They'd include personalized packaging as well as personalized M&Ms and would look something like this...

Who'd be interested in getting a few bags of these fun treats while helping make dreams come true?? PM me right away with how many bags you'd like. If I get enough interest, I'll proceed. If not, I'll have to think of another idea....

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT EVERYONE!!!

 Stand next to me! You will look positively svelte.

I'm thinking a whip exchange for next years trip.
Some of the new ladies must be thinking....what the hell is wrong with this person. :rotfl2:

 Oh Beth, no more of the fat talk, like I say to my hubby "size isn't everything"... interpret that comment anyway you like. :upsidedow

I like whips... I'm sure Alison will be getting a whip and a spear again this trip ::yes::
Team 2 is no longer nameless! We are now

Finn McMissile Racin' Investigation

woohooo!

Even for married couples filing a joint return, the account must be in both spouses' names before they do the direct deposit.
No, my hubby and I don't have a joint account. I have had our refund direct deposit some years in mine, some years in his. We don't even have the same last name.

Good morning, ladies!! Happy hump day!   Two weeks from today, I will be getting ready to hop on a bus and head to Disneyland. :cool1: Maybe. If I don't chicken out. I haven't even bought my bus ticket yet.

What?? No food or candy?? WTH? That's the best part of any classroom holiday party, all the treats and goodies everyone brings in.

:sad2: You are going - don't make me break out my own whip (and a spear from Alison). :snooty:

That was a new rule for Minneapolis schools, where my DH taught, no more food treats allowed.
We already have laws in MN that require all food to be store bought only (can't make cupcakes, rice krispie treats, etc at home) due to allergy concerns and food safety.
Staff can't even use any part of the kitchen (including the tray line area) for after school events or open house type events. It can only be used by the food service employees. Made it very difficult to have a school carnival with food to be served. They had to buy pizza to be delivered even though it would be cheaper to buy a bunch of frozen pizzas. They had to ask for coolers to keep the drinks cold, etc... too many rules!

This is a great idea and really cute, Jen! You should do lime green instead of blue though (or purple - I luvs purple!!!)

If you haven't gone to Jcpenney's since the price restructuring.... go! Stopped in today to browse, impressed with the new prices and no more confusing signage. What is marked on the tag is the price.

They had LOTS and LOTS of winter coats in all sizes, all of them (no matter what the brand or original price) were blue tagged for $20. It was fun to watch all the ladies stop to look and gasp $20??? and trying on coats among the racks. I had bought a new one at Macy's just a week ago, but I couldn't resist and now I have yet one more winter coat. Liz Claiborne woman brand full retail $250 .. for $20!! :yay::yay::yay:

Hubby found a leather (pleather? I'm sure it's not real leather.. looks like it but doesn't say on the tag) zip up coat for $15.

I was a bit bummed, I couldn't find short/petite length in my size in women's (only a very few in larger sizes). Looked in petite section to see if a regular 18 would fit, the sale lady told me they don't carry it in store. I could order online, but I think what's the point if I'm really not sure if it will even fit?? :confused3

Grrrr, short curvy women want jeans too! :headache: Macy's has some nice tummy control jeans in women's department, petite length! But all they had was boot cut, not my favorite. I settled on a cheapie Just my Size brand (the brand of clothes that often double as circus tents-- My my that's a very colorful errrr, ummm is that a shirt? ) at Walmart, also boot cut . :sad2:

We ate at Macaroni Grill, mmmmmmmmm. And now I am stuffed and tired out, it was a good day.:thumbsup2

LMAO! Your poor hubby! You are too funny though. :rotfl2:

The kids went to a school where only store bought treats were allowed. That's fine. I can understand that. Don't want the home cooking mixed in with someone's home meth lab or something. :rolleyes1 I was fine with buying store bakery cupcakes or what not, but to say no treats at all? Just seems wrong. Let kids be kids.

It's the way some school have banned Halloween parties. Instead they have Fall harvest celebrations. It's not an Easter party, but a Spring celebration. Give me a break. Everything is so over-thought and PC, it's out of control.
Geesh, let kids have fun and be kids.

HA - but what kind of whips and spears???? (Dole whips and pineapple spears????) :thumbsup2
Mmmm, pineapple. It's been awhile since I've had a Dole Whip or float. I wonder if I still like them? I should get one, you know, for research purposes.

I went the day before it was to officially take effect, but the tags were already marked with the set prices. I wasn't impressed with the store though. I'd been before Christmas and it was still very nice, for a JCPenney. But in just a month or so, it suddenly was very empty, messy and looking more like a TJMax or a Ross. I don't think I'll go back. :sad2:

I did score some good deals though. I found those Hoodie Buddies (the jackets with the earphones built in) for 5 bucks!! I got one for each of the twins and am saving it for their Easter basket. :thumbsup2

I luvs me some pineapple, so I think you should definitely partake on my behalf and at the very least post a nice pic (in a not rubbing it in - ha ha I'm here and you're not kind of way). Dole whip though??? NOOOOO, run the other way. Nasty, nasty, nasty. Blech. Not sure what the appeal of those is :confused3

I like the Dole soft serve. Mmmmm.... pineapple...... mmmmm.... ice cream.... yummy!

Thanks - glad to know I am not alone  How do we end up procreating with these men? :rotfl: It's funny, Trev was so handsome, did modeling, and wanted to be a nutritionist. Funny how life changes. Drugs destroyed his good looks.

I was going to suggest going too! Last night I was in there and found lots of lime green tops. There were not any great sales, but I did find a few cute thing for work.

Victoria's secret also had some cute tops and hoodies that were lime green.

Everytime I go I get one and always wish it were half as big. It is too big for how sweet it is. Everytime half of it goes in a garbage. This past weekend the son asked for one, took two bites and didn't like it. What a waste of $10 since combined we ate 3/4 of one.

I am hoping these next two weeks go fast! As far as I can figure, I have everything I need and everything that needs to be pre paid has been. Who on my flight is having a morning drink with me?

Except that those prices are now higher. I saw a top I liked when I was in there recently. It was a top that previously would probably have been marked $40 but would have been on perpetual sale for between $20 and $24. It's now marked $28. Plus the fact that Mervyns, Penney and Kohl's have conditioned me not to buy anything that isn't on sale for at LEAST 40% off.

I finally talked to someone at the IRS today. They assured me that my refund did not go to someone else, thank goodness, and that they are in the process of sending a check. He said best case scenario, I'll get it in two weeks. Which is cutting it VERY close. So I'm just going to sit on this for awhile and stalk my mailman daily. :tiptoe::ssst:

:thumbsup2 Exactly!

That's the one thing I'm afraid of with this new pricing strategy. Not sure how well it work, I know there are shoppers who just shop for specific items they want/need, they may welcome a set price. But with all the sales, promo offers, coupons, bonus buy/bounce back programs offered in the past at JCP and still going strong in other stores... the new strategy will not lure the deal hunters into the store.

I read they will gradually re-do each area of the store, shop within a shop style. Hoping they provide something a little more interesting. I know my sis and I (power deal hunters, we shop for hours at a time and will walk out buying nothing if the price isn't right) haven't bothered to even look in JCP for months because it was the same old stuff they always have (and not much marked down). Yawn.

And yep they just put out lime green shirts if St John's Bay fits you... not a good fit for me. I swear the designers must think all plus women have wide shoulders and a giant chest. Not that I'm lacking anything in the chest. :rolleyes1 Which reminds me, time for a new bra fitting- ugh!
