Hideeho everyone.

I am getting SO excited about the trip and seeing everyone....fat bums and all!

My hiney is also fat, but just more of me to love. (Although I have lost a teeny-tiny couple of pounds and working on losing more.)

No special plans for Valentines day. Kids will have parties at school which are always fun. I'll probably tell my husband I love him.

Heading over to my parents' house to watch my dad for a bit so mom can go to the store. He can't be left alone, and the woman NEEDS to get our for a while, poor thing.

Jen - Wow, so sorry to hear about your son's dad. So sad.

Have you thought about counseling for your son? Is there anyway his dad would let your dh adopt him? It sounds like you have a great hubby so eventhough I am sure it is hard for him it is wonderful that he has such a great "dad" there and I hope that he can accept him as his dad and realize that his real dad is not so hot. ((Hugs)). !!

We tried counseling, but we had a behavior therapist who basically tries to re-train my son and not discuss the issues he is dealing with. I want to find another one. As for the adoption, his dad might, but I can see him trying to have his control by saying no. I really need to drive up to the jail this week before he possibly gets released or transferred. On another note, I hope today is a great day filled with happy new memories

We do Valentine's Day grams here at the school I teach at and I am planning on bringing in treats for my classes. I enjoy working with my sons to create fun valentines to hand out. Their school is so strict with what students hand out - NO food! Last year Tahoe's teacher threw away the valentines that kids brought to hand out if there was food attatched. Many kids were very upset. I think its a dumb rule since the kids have to wait until they get home to eat them anyways and parents should be checking.

Well, this upcoming week is going to be crazy busy! It is Farm Show steak sandwich week. Oh why does it have to happen now? About a week of my life will be dedicated to it. It starts on Saturday getting the booth ready. Sunday and Monday we cut up over 10,000 pounds of ribeye meat and season it. Monday we also sell a few sandwiches to the some of the vendors to get our feet wet. Then Tuesday to Thursday all heck breaks out!!! This is the fundraiser that we bring in over $150,000.00 in 3 days. It makes me tired just telling you about it. Needless to say, this Friday is my goal to have all the tees done.

I have another monkey wrench just added to this week. It is actually a good thing, it just adds to the craziness. My niece just opened up a consignment store in Folsom, and her Grand Opening is this Friday. Dave and I think it is important to go and support her as this is my sister Renee's DD. She was the sister who died last year around this time. So we are taking off on Friday morning to surprise her, and coming back home early Saturday morning so we can work on the Farm Show stuff. Youza!!
Is it February 23rd yet???

Oh and if any of you Sacramento gals want to come to the event, it is from 6:00- 8:00pm and the name of the store is called "ReLoveIt Consignments" on E. Bidwell Street.

Jen, I am so sorry to hear about your ex! Wish I could give you a big ole' hug right now. Take care, and keep on being the wonderful Mom that you are.

OK everyone, I have a HUGE favor to ask. Can you all please keep your finger, toes, eyes, legs and anything else that can be crossed, crossed? I made a little boo boo on my tax return and I have to wait until tomorrow to call and find out if my refund went to someone else or not. If I don't get my refund, that means I wont be able to go to on the trip. I swear, I should not be trusted with numbers.

The automated system is, but I need to actually talk to someone and their hours are 7 am - 7pm EST time. But I got off the phone recently with both the tax service I used and my bank and they said I didn't even enter a valid account number, so the IRS should be sending me a check in the mail. I'll just feel a lot better when I confirm that with the IRS and see how long it will take to get here. I'm such a doofus.

Nope. People send their returns to other accounts for things like child support and such. Believe me, I googled it and freaked myself out something horrible. I even had to go buy some ice cream to calm my nerves.

Wendy - I'm a CPA and in my experience the IRS will not do a direct deposit unless the name on the account matches the tax return. Even for married couples filing a joint return, the account must be in both spouses' names before they do the direct deposit. Hopefully, your address is correct because they will send you a check.

Since you used a tax service, you can try to have them call the IRS. There is a special practitioners hotline they can call that doesn't keep you on hold forever.

Mel First of all woman you AMAZE me at all the things you do!! Everyone should be SO proud of all the work you do and I am sure I can speak for the divas in saying that I REALLY appreciate all you do on our T-shirts and I am SO excited to see them!! THANK you for all your hard work and esp everything else you do for everyone in your life. You rock!! Hey I wanted to ask will you BE at your neices shop at that time on Fri? And is it THIS Friday or next Fri the 17?? The reason I ask is because mom and I would LOVE to stop by to see you!! Let me know cuz that would be so fun and I would like to see her shop as well!!

Girls had skate night last night and then tomorrow night is Katy's valentines dance. They are supposed to go to their dad's this weekend but he said he might have to work now so not sure what is happening there. And then NEXT weekend my mom was invited to a baby shower in SF and she asked me to go but I am not sure now if Shane will have to work and I will have the girls again. SO stressful when you don't know what is going on and can't make any firm plans. Plus I KNOW I will be wanting to do last minute packing cuz we leave FIRST thing Monday the 20th. Gosh I am like the rest of you is it time to leave yet!!!

We're almost 2 weeks out.......I'm glad I've had things to work on for this trip to keep my spirits up. My dad's service is this Saturday.....I want to either sing or say something, but I haven't come up with anything yet. It's like my brain has shut down & coming up with memories to share or maybe a favorite song my dad & I liked is proving to be quite hard.

I've seen with my in-laws how hard it can be. My FIL has Parkinson's and cannot be left alone either. He falls sometimes, or drops dishes and such. My MIL is always caring for him, it's like having a child again. And she of course has to do all the driving. It's just not easy, but you do what you have to do for the ones you love.

What?? No food or candy?? WTH? That's the best part of any classroom holiday party, all the treats and goodies everyone brings in. And we always made little treat bags, or at the very least attached candy, to the cards my kids took in. I agree, what a dumb rule.

By the way, I hope you do find another therapist. He needs to talk and get his feelings out, not be re-trained.
