Well, I finally have a spare moment to check in. Life has been very busy and although I check in on the thread every so often, I rarely have time to post.

Between work, kids activities and doctors appointments. I barely have time to relax. On top of that, we are moving in 3 weeks, so I've been trying to purge items we don't need anymore.

The one good thing about moving is that it forces you to get rid of stuff you don't really need.

I hope everyone is doing great and I'll talk to you all later .

My son has had it a few times since he loves fried chicken. I've tried and thought it was just okay. Nothing great, but not horrible. The mashed potatoes did remind me of cafeteria mashed potatoes though :confused3 .

I agree about the chicken and mashed potaoes. Plaza Inn isn't really one of my faves, but if someone else wants it I'll go with them, still rather not go though.

Good morning ladies! :goodvibes

Don't know why, but I'm fretting about the dates I've chosen for our next DLR trip. Don't we all do that?

I need some affirmation that the parks won't be absolutely hideous (like the last 2 times I've been to the parks now). I really would love to have some breathing space and not feel like I'm just constantly bumping into other people just strolling down Main Street. . . KWIM?

So anyway, my dates are December 17, 18 and 19 -- it's a Wed-Fri. I'm pretty sure MOST school districts won't release for Christmas break until Friday the 19th, so I'm hoping I picked a relatively good time.

The reason I wanted to go at this time is because I am 99% sure they will start running the DEP on the 19th, and it's my son's all time favorite parade and he hasn't seen it in a long time.

So -- what do you all think? I need some honesty here and don't be afraid to tell me it's a really bad time and I should go in early November instead.

Any feedback good or bad is sooo much appreciated! Thanks gals! :grouphug:

Hey, I went those exact days last year. Well, almost. We did citipass, so I think we did Mon, Tue, Friday at Disneyland. I am positive it was the Friday before Xmas and it was the first night of Electric Parade, which I had never seen before. It was our last day, and we had planned it around shows and parades, and of course made the most of fast passes. It was certainly crowded, and I remember we commented to ourselves that if this was what Xmas crowds were, then we would not be coming during that season!
I actually crossed to watch fireworks(which were cancelled, but they still did snow and lights and it was beautiful!)and then fantasmic by myself while my hubby took the kids back to the hotel. We have never been able to make it up late enough and I was determined to see them.

So, I think you will be okay. Weds. and Thursday should be great and Friday will be bearable with proper planning and worth it to see the parade.

Hope your trip is magical!

(I am trying to get a winter trip with my Mom in this year as well as our Feb. & then Ladies in March.)

Hi Katie!! So good to see you. I've been wondering how you were doing. Sounds like you've been really busy!! Good luck with the moving. I know how hard that can be. But you're right, it forces you to do a good cleaning and get rid of a lot of unnecessary items. Are you staying in the same area or moving some where new altogether?

Thanks for the input on the Plaza Inn too.

I've eaten there before, but it was years ago. At least 7 years, and I cannot even remember what we had.

I remember eating outside, and it was just Ruben and myself since my mom had the kids. Those white lights were on the trees, it was drizzling ever so slightly and the Mulan parade was going by. (that's how long ago it was!!)

It was a nice atmosphere, but I'm thinking maybe I should just stick with that as my last memory of that place and go somewhere else instead. ;)

Thanks for the input.

That's when we used to take our kids, when it wasn't a big deal if they missed a few days of school. It wasn't too busy, but that was over 10 years ago! Wow, how time flies!! From what I've read, it is busier now than it used to be. But, like everyone said, Wednesday & Thursday shouldn't be as bad. How long before we can call it the MSEP again?!?

Totally off topic, do you know you can put your 2 tickers on the same line instead of 1 below the other? That's how mine are. Instead of having a "return/enter" after the first one, just put a space. It will look like it's a return in the "coded" part, but will come out perfect!

That's the hard part! I have done sooo many December trips. It used to be "THE" time to go because the parks were empty! But word caught on (thanks to the internet), and now the crowds are packed all month long. I have tried the first week (and braved the CP and CM parties), and even the second week. Both times got too crowded. So then we tried January. We went on the last Sunday of Christmas entertainment and the following two days. It was "ok" but I think I like going before Christmas better. So last year we did the week after Thanksgiving and just before December. The calendar worked out so there was several week days at the end of November. It was perfect! Low crowds, rainy drizzly weather which helped keep the locals away. We walked on just about everything. Unfortunately, the calendar won't provide for that this year. We go straight from Thanksgiving to CM parties the following Mon/Tues. So I'm forced into mid-December again. Unless I want to consider November prior to Thanksgiving?? UGH!!! Ok, I'm just going to leave it alone for now. . .

Thanks, Stacie! Siggie look better?

We took the kids on our surprise trip around that time this past year (Dec 20 & 21). On the 20th the park was empty in the morning. I mean we did Peter Pan and Dumbo with almost walk on lines. As the day went on it did become more crowded. It was chilly and ended up raining off and on that day (more like sprinkles). The 21st was a bit more crowded but we got a lot done. I will say we didn't go to CA, my kids aren't really into that park (I'm hoping when they get older they'll enjoy it), so I don't know how the crowds were in that park. We also made it to the park about 45 minutes before the gates opened. On that 2nd day we went straight for Nemo and still waited in line for about 30 minutes.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. I almost forgot our school's holiday break starts on the 19th and we have a 1/2 day on the 18th.

HI everyone!

Been kind of busy, like alot of you.

Right now I'm bummed about the AP7 rates. We always go on the second or third weekend of December, and this year they are not honoring the weekends as most of you probably know. It's the one time, that we like to go to the GC, but I'm not too sure about that now. :sad1:

I'm busy getting ready to go camping at the beach. We're leaving this Saturday for a week. Can't wait to feel the cool ocean breeze, and read to my heart's content. :cloud9:

Oh and I need to buy my Mickey's Halloween Treat tickets. I'm putting it off because I have to buy 10 of them. I guess, I had better do it tomorrow before we leave. :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is wonderful!:flower3:

Hi Melody! Good to see you here.
I'm sorry about your rates at GCH. That's too bad. :guilty:

Camping at the beach sounds like a lot of fun!!! Have a great time.

Oh, and I don't blame you for putting off buying 10 tickets! And I thought I had it bad with 6. :rotfl:

Well it used to the 6 of us, and then the darn kids started getting married and having kids. And this Mom still loves Disney, and I still love treating them to it. So what can I say? It's me own fault. :rolleyes1

Aw, that's so great. They are lucky to have a mom like you. :)

I'm not so sure my own kids are going to be as lucky. They might be on their own once they are married.... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Thanks, Stacie! Siggie look better?

Yup! Now just center it. I know, I'm a format FREAK!

I'm just wondering how hot it will be at the end of August! I don't know yet how long I'll be there, depends on what Christine's roommate's mom wants to do. I told Christine to let her know I would really like to stay until Monday morning, preferably Tuesday morning even! Hopefully Cheryl can meet us there as well! But we still haven't gotten it all figured out!

Hey, I know you're getting ready to do school already, but let me know if you want to get together before things get TOO hectic!

Hi Girls. I'm off to DLR in about 8 hours, so I need to get to bed and try to get a bit of sleep before the drive. My plan for this trip is to spend the night in the Dream Suite, so I'll let you know how that goes when I get home!:rotfl:

Ohh, I just realized this is my 500th post! OK, now I really need to go to bed.

sigh . . . ain't he dreamy?? :lovestruc :cloud9: :lovestruc

You gotta love him. For a split second, that photo made me forget how irritated I am that I once again have insomnia. And we're getting in the car in a couple of hours to head down south. I don't know what I'm complaining about. Two hours of sleep is plenty preparation for a 6 hour car ride and a long, hot, crowded day at Disneyland:rolleyes1

Awwwww, Tina, I'm sorry you couldn't sleep. I always do that the night before a trip as well. Darn nerves and insomnia!!

Hope Marty does a majority of the driving so you can get some sleep in the car!

I can't believe I haven't posted here in a while. Life has kept me busy. And it will only get more busy once the semester starts up. I register this week and I am already feeling overwhelmed. I did make the decision though to not over load myself, but in doing so, I tacked on another semester. Not what I wanted to do, but better than a breakdown you know. At least I have this trip to look forward to.

I've been trying to keep up with the postings as much as I can though. Hope everyone is doing well. Hope to post again soon!
