Great Toy Story pics!:thumbsup2 I am still miffed that I didn't get picked thought. I was pretty jealous watching all those people getting on...well, I will have my chance soon enough!:yay:

Phew, that was a lot to catch up on!
How's everyone today?
Sorry I've been MIA these past few days. I have had Camp counselor training all week which was 8a-5p most of time.

I've read Callie's mini-TR and I'm sad to say that I did not go ride TSMM on Tuesday, even though I had won. It just wasn't worth waiting 2..5 hours in traffic. I'm also severely in debt so the gas thing is really an issue for me. I'll be there in October so I don't really mind.

Also, I haven't been on because my dad had major surgery yesterday. They were going to take out his parathyroid but when they opened him up they discovered that the problem was in the actual thyroid gland. It had nodules on it that were calcified and had cancer. So they took that out and thank God:worship: there is no cancer anywhere else. I was seriously worried on Wednesday night because it could have been the last night with my dad. I visited him in the hospital yesterday and he was doing pretty well for having surgery that day. He can talk, which is amazing.
So I smelled lawsuit and I was really pissed off.:headache: You see they stuck a tube in part of the incision (on the base of his throat/neck) and put the sutures to hold it in place (as well as sew him up) well the surgeon let his assistant put the sutures in and he put them in too lose. So the blood that was draining from his incision into this little pouch, was now on his dressing and gown.:mad:WTH?! You are a SURGEON, you can't make mistakes like that!!!!

So the operating surgeon was called and he fixed it. I haven't seen him today but I'll be going to see him later after picking up my little sister from school and cleaning the house (he might be back home tomorrow).

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks. Sorry for being :offtopic:

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Hope your dad and a speedy recover.

Cristabel, so sorry to hear about your dad's surgery and I will keep him in my thoughts and pray for a quick recovery for him. Bummer that you missed the TSMM preview, but I can completely understand why. You'll have plenty of time to catch it when you are in a better financial position for a trip to DLR.

So when are you going to camp to be a counselor?

HEY LADIES!!! How's it going??

I'm checking in from our hotel in Pismo Beach. It's great!! I'm loving it.

I have lots to post on my trip report including lots of pics!! :3dglasses (Pre-trip report link in my sig)

And guess what??????????????????? We got to ride the new Toy Story ride!!!!!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: And we didn't even win passes. :rolleyes1 (I'll tell you all about it in my TR when I get back in a few days.)

I rode it once, Ruben rode it twice and the kids rode three times!! OMG, it was so awesome!! I really wasn't expecting much but that was so cool. :thumbsup2

Well, I haven't really had time to read back. I hope everyone is doing well. Talk to you soon. :)

Hi Beth! Looking forward to reading your TR when you get back. Enjoy the cool beach! It's blazin hot here in the desert! :furious:

So we were standing in the que for Storybook, we were two rows back and had about 5 minutes before the fireworks started, it wasn't looking good. Just then the CM at the front of the line announced to everyone that they would be loading the boats that were just coming in, but for those in the front of the line, they needed to know that they would be forced to watch the fireworks on the boat in the canal and that would keep them on the ride for 20 minutes. She said if anyone doesn't want to be on the ride that long, you should exit now. I was shocked that people actually started leaving the que!! After about 30 seconds we found ourselves at the front of the line and on the first boat going into the canal for the fireworks trip! :yay: :yay: Our skipper told us that we would stop once the fireworks music started. We went through almost the whole ride and were almost to Pinocchio's Village at the end and the fireworks still hadn't started. :confused3 I looked at my watch and cell phone and sure enough, the fireworks were LATE!! I was so worried the skipper would just continue and we would be back at the dock before they went off. But instead, she paused right there in the canal in front of the village and waited. After an eternal 2 minutes, we finally heard the music start. Ahhhhh, we were set! We got to experience RDCT while on a Storybook boat sitting in front of Pinocchio's Village. :cloud9: We did have to keep looking from left to right to see the different shots set off from IASW and the Castle/Matterhorn areas but we were really close to see Tink fly. We got some good pics . . . (this is where Stacie will contribute to my TR) that prove we were there. Just one more thing I can cross off my list as having experienced at DLR.

After we got off Storybook, we hit BTMRR with FPs we had collected earlier. That ride is so much more fun at night, and especially in the last car (which we always waited for). Then we asked the girls if they wanted to ride indy as their last ride of the night. They used my last two expired DFP's and Stacie and I shopped in Adventureland and then found the most awesome relaxing place on a little deck between Indy and the Jungle Cruise. We actually laid down on the deck and stared up at the canopy of trees above us. It was a perfect Disney moment and I wished I could freeze it and relive it over and over again. I would have taken a pic, but my camera was in Kendall's stroller (yep, the 11 year old still had her stroller). :sad2:

The girls got off the ride, and we slowly made our way up Main Street toward the Train Station. We paused at the story windows to take pictures and then said thanks to Walt at his apartment window. I took one last long look and inhaled the smells for the last time. I could feel that I wouldn't be back for a while so I really wanted to take it all in. Even though I honestly didn't want to even go on this trip in the first place, I was so glad I had gone. Walt's magic is in the parks on each and every trip I take and no matter how many times I go, I always get to experience something new each trip. This trip was especially magical. pixiedust:

Thanks Stacie, Christine and Allison for sharing your room and car space with us, and thanks again to Cheryl for a perfect MM experience. :goodvibes

Aw! That was an awesome finale!
I would have loved to sit on the boat and watched the fireworks! How neat! I can't believe people got out of line. LOL

Thanks for sharing!

I just finished training this week. I start this upcoming Monday. I will be working for 8 weeks. Then I have to find another job, hopefully something to carry on until next year.

Hey Callie! I loved your TR.
Thanks for the info on Storybookland. I'm going to have to try to see the fireworks from there next time.

BillyFan: I'm curious--will Kurt be appearing as himself at Saddleback or as "Billy"?

Hmmm, gotta get this thread back on the top. For those of you who remember, I posted that on every trip I go to DL, I get a bruise. Well, last week was no exception, although I didn't notice it right away. This was on the bottom (triceps) side of my upper arm:

:rotfl2: That's the only shape that would make the bruise worth it

Has it turned yellow yet? (yuck) :rotfl:

Hi ladies!

I found a spot at my MIL's where we can get internet access so I thought I'd say hello. We went to Hollywood today and ate at the Disney Soda Fountain. YUM!!!

Callie, loved the TR!! Very good. :thumbsup2 I'm glad you all got to go together and have such a great time.

Cristabel, I'm sorry about your dad. How's he doing? I will be keeping you and him in my thoughts.

Well, I hope everyone is doing ok. We'll be home on Monday evening. I don't want this trip to end! LOL
Talk to ya soon.

BillyFan: I'm curious--will Kurt be appearing as himself at Saddleback or as "Billy"?

The group will be the Billy who perform on Sundays and Mondays. They do a bunch of Billy stuff, plus they do new stuff and some individual things. Last year Kirk did a whole Elvis set, which was a lot of fun. He also performs on Wednesday nights at the Continental Room in Fullerton, and that is a whole Elvis show. We saw that in February, and it was a riot! The seediest of bars, with a tiny stage in the corner. The curtain comes up, and there he is!:worship:
