Sunday afternoon - We went said goodbye to Linda and Cheryl and then drove back to the motel to take a nap. We slept (kind of -- many doors slamming kept me mostly awake) for about 2 hours an then grabbed some Taco Bell and headed back to the parks at about 5:30.

We went to DCA to start using our Dream FPs in that park. I think we used all of them except for GRR. We watched the DEP from Golden Dreams and then headed to DL to try to get through the crowds to Space before the fireworks started. They were already announcing that winds may cause them to be canceled, but when we got off Space they were going off. We headed to BTMRR via Fantasyland (and tons of smoke - cough cough) and then Kendall said she wanted to see Fantasmic at 10:30. By this time, it was a little after 10. I told her we would check to see if our regular F! spot was available, and if it was we could watch. Well, our spot was open (as usual). Just some teens and a single middle-aged guy standing there. I ended up chatting with the single guy and it ends up I know him from MousePlanet and that he was the person who told me about the secret F! spot many years ago. It was awesome to visit with him and he was so nice to Kendall and allowed her to have the whole space in front of him. Quite a gentleman. Stacie's girls went and rode Splash and Stacie found a spot to sit on the wall behind us. After F!, we hit Indy with our remaining Dream FP and headed out of the parks for the night.

It was such a full day with all the special meetings and events, it felt like at least 2 of my normal Disneyland days. And we still hadn't done what we actually came for . . . Our AP preview for TSMM would have to wait until the following day. We hoped we would have energy left for it!

To be continued. . .

Good job! You are such a good reporter, I probably wouldn't remember everything...

Well I'm excited.
Decided to take a last minute trip to DL this Friday and Saturday. Going to watch Shawna's,(AZMickeyfans) DD dance at DL on Saturday, and then off to the beach with some friends. Now I wish I had entered the AP lottery for Midway. Phooey. :headache:

Good Morning ladies! I'm enjoying reading all mini-reports from the weekend :thumbsup2 .

I know it's been awhile but I finally scanned the Goofy's Kitchen photo for all of those waiting. It's also in the Shutterfly account.

Have a nice day!

I see that you are all on the edge of your seats waiting for more . . .:rolleyes1 so I won't delay and give you the first installment of Day 2:

Monday: We slept in, which goes against every fiber of my being when I am at DLR. But we had tweens and teens with us, and they needed sleep or else you know what they turn into. . . :furious: :crazy2:

So we finally left for the Mickey & Friends parking garage at about 9:30 am. It took us 30 minutes to even get into the garage. :headache: It was a very good sign of what the day would bring for us. :crowded: :crowded:

We went into DL first and it was packed and it was HOT. We decided right then and there we wouldn't be doing rides like we did the day before. Kendall had never been on TSI - Pirates Lair so we went to check the line for the rafts. They were inbetween docks, so we decided to cool our heels in the HM. Man, they keep that ride nice and chilly. It really helps get your core temperature down for a bit. After HM we headed over to TSI and went through the caves. We looked for Jack, but he wasn't out -- which was fine with me. I'm really not that into him. :rolleyes1

After we got back to NOS I told Stacie that I MUST get out of DL. The crowds were just disgusting at that point -- you could hardly move through them. So I suggested lunch at WWS. On our way out of the park, we ran into Beth and family at the Golden Horseshoe. We were already hot and cranky so probably didn't stay and visit as long as we should. Sorry Beth.

On the way to WWS I picked up a free stroller for Kendall -- Yep, my 11 year old needed a stroller -- she's tiny and doesn't have great stamina. Lunch at WWS was just what we needed, a quiet cool place to chill out and take our extra strength excedrin and wait for the headaches to pass. We decided that we would go ahead and try to get on TSMM next. We weren't sure if they were going to let Kendall on since she didn't have an AP. But after some resting in the GCH lobby by the fireplace we were ready to give it our best shot. To be continued. . .

Wow! Someone besides Stacie is reading . . . guess I have a reason to keep posting. :lmao:

Monday afternoon - We left the GCH through DTD and walked toward the check-in point for the TSMM AP preview winners. We walked right up and they said "congratulations" and asked for each of our AP's. I told them that my dd didn't have an AP, but the rest of us did, and the CM told me I would have to upgrade my dd's parkhopper to a Deluxe AP if I wanted her to be able to ride. I told her there was no way I was going to pay an extra $125+ for one ride. I then asked her if I would be able to give my voucher to my dd so she could ride instead of me. She said they wouldn't allow her on and they would be checking AP's at the ride. She said they were being very strict this time as this was an "AP" preview -- so only for APs. As we all just kind of looked at each other wondering what we would do, a younger CM spoke up and said "You know, you could always just ask down there at the ride and see if the CM's will let her on." What a refreshing prospect after listening to Ms. Doom and Gloom tell us that my dd would definitely not be getting on TSMM. So, we left with 4 vouchers in hand and 5 of us wanting to ride.

As we approached the ride, I could see that there really was no line. We walked up to the first CM with our vouchers. He said "Ok, we have four vouchers and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 guests. Happy Birthday, Kendall!" We didn't even get a chance to plead our case. He just waved us through. :hyper: :cool1: Then we stopped and watched Mr. Potato Head perform. He was telling jokes and interacting with the people watching. He told a joke about exchanging one of his ears for a pair of Mickey ears, and as he tried to put his ear back in his head, it fell on the ground. So he kind of looked like this: :listen: (sorry, I've just never had a chance to use that smiley before). Mr. Potato Head just kind of went dead and finally a CM came over and picked up the ear and stashed it in a drawer. I guess MPH was down and covered for the next day and a half.

So, as we continued through the que, we ran into another CM. He asked us for our AP's. Oh no! :headache: We all pulled ours out and then I said, Kendall, the birthday girl, doesn't have one. He said "Happy Birthday Kendall!" and let us continue. :dance3: Now we're really happy! We get on the ride and I swear, this is the point where the whole mood of the day just completely turned around. This ride is the most awesome new ride DLR has put out in a long, LONG time. I was screaming, hooting & hollering through the whole thing. It was so much fun and best of all, I got the top score of our group! 139,000!

Once we got off the ride, we went into the little store and I bought my ds a LGM stuffed toy and a TSMM pin. We were all just going on and on about how cool the new ride is. But did we ask to go again? NO!!! Why not? I HAVE NO IDEA!!! I'm still kicking myself after reading about all the other winners who went multiple times. There was absolutely no line at that point and I am sure we would have been able to ride again. :sad2: Ah well, we left in a state of ignorant bliss and grabbed a Screamin FP on our way to watch the best DCA attraction of all times: Golden Dreams. :rolleyes1 Well, none of us had ever seen it, and it was hot outside and we needed to cool off and rest our feet. So, we did -- except for Stacie who decided her tummy was really bugging her and needed some quiet time in the ladies' room. She did get to see PUSH on her way, so I think she ended up with the better attraction. ;)

After Golden Dreams we waited around in the shade for our Screamin FPs to be good, then when we rode it we realized the stand-by que was super short so we went on it again. Next was the Sourdough Bakery tour and we were going to get Kendall's birthday stack of tortillas, but they were making corn. :crazy2: Um, no thanks.

Next we went into EnginEars to load a box with MPH pieces for my kids. I had never done that before, and it was quite a feat to fit as many pieces as I could in that box. The CM at the register was impressed with my box stuffing abilities! ;)

As we were leaving the store, I realized my cell phone was gone! I must have lost it somewhere between Screamin and EnginEars. We walked right out to Guest Services desk and I asked about getting a number for Lost & Found. They said I would just have to check in with them at the end of the night to see if it was recovered. Ugh. :headache: This was going to make things hard because Stacie had to take Christine to the airport and then she was planning on meeting up with us later that evening. How would that work when I didn't have a cell phone? :confused3

to be continued. . .

Callie: you should have been a Hollywood scriptwriter or something . . . you leave us hanging in suspense!!!!!!

I rode TSMM yesterday--twice. I would have ridden it more but the friends I was with were done after two times . .. . . :( grrrrrrr. I guess I will go on it again someday . . . . but not if there's a two-hour wait! You did better than me even on your one trip--my highest score was 111,700.

Mr. Potato Head was still having "issues" on Wednesday--he wasn't working when we walked up (didn't even see him because he was covered by a curtain) and while we were in line he started up again (and had two ears--LOL).

And I LIKE Golden Dreams . . . but maybe because the first time I saw it I was with some other board members of this group that provides scholarships to single Moms who have gone back to college . . . and we had just come from the breakfast in Club 33 with them . . . . and we thought Golden Dreams was incredibly inspiring and that they should all see it too. I'm actually going to be sad when it goes. (I guess to each his own . . . . .)

Ok, waiting for the next installment . . . . fingers tapping . . . . come on . . . we're waiting . . . .

Of course others are reading!! If I wrote it, it would probably only be a couple of paragraphs, some smileys and pictures, and I'd be done!

Oh, and do you have PROOF of that score??? I don't think so!!! And we're supposed to believe you :confused3

Now I, on the other hand, do have proof of my HIGHEST score EVER on Buzz ...

StacieCherylonBuzz-1.jpg

No, really, that is Cheryl and I! HONEST!!! I PROMISE!!! Right, Cheryl? You'll back me up, right? Even Cheryl had a good score, because we told her where the secret targets are!

Both days we were there, the majority of the Buzz pictures were like this, or they had the correct picture but no score, which is how my DD picture came out. I knew this was our picture because it was right next to her picture.

Ok, Callie, continue... I'm ready with the pictures pixiedust:

Yep, that looks just like you and Cheryl. . . ::yes:: :rolleyes1

:duck:

 I'll vouch for you if you vouch for me.

Golden Dreams was ok, but definitely not a repeat attraction for me. Once was enough, and I now I can honestly say I saw it.

Ok, but it'll have to wait until after my kids' swim meet this evening. I gotta get them ready and out the door now.

Later taters!

Callie,

I'm reading, and thoroughly enjoying your TR. I bet you just about cried when you didn't think your DD could go on Midway. Thank goodness for CMs who care, and a sprinkling of pixie dust. pixiedust:

Next..........popcorn::

You are a great writer!!!!

One problem/mystery solved and you leave us hanging with another!!! Hmmm should we take a poll to see who thinks the phone was recovered and who doesn't? Ya know, since we're waiting anyway...(drumming fingers on desk...)

I hope the kiddos swim like fish so you get back soon! :rotfl:

Will you write my next trip report for me???? :rotfl2:

I'm reading too, and can't wait to hear what happens. I know how you were feeling with the heat and crowds. It can really make you feel a little crazy!
But it's nice to take a break at the Grand for a snack and drink :drinking: It really does wonders to get out of the heat and away from the people:crowded:

Oh, and I like Golden Dreams, too! I still get choked up when I hear the ending song. Yes, I'm a dork...........

I'm reading your mini report. I can't wait to go back. It sounds like you all had a wonderful time there, of course I don't think anyone can have a truely bad day at DL. :rotfl2:
