You ladies were chatty today! I like the door decorating idea and think Lilo & Stitch sounds fun too!

I can't sleep (note the time). Suffering with insomnia b/c dh has decided to buy himself a classic Mini Cooper from Tacoma, WA. I made flight reservations for him to fly up to SEA-TAC on the 14th to pick it up and drive it back.

He never, ever does things like this. He's the most practical, stable, almost boring guy (in a good way), and a classic Mini is not the most practical car for a family of 5 -- did I mention no A/C??? But it's been an obsession for him for the last year or so that he's been researching them. I really want to support him because he works so hard and deserves it. He never buys anything for himself and has supported my Disney obsession for years now.

I'm most nervous about him driving back to AZ in a completely unfamiliar, tiny car with right hand steering on CA freeways.

He contacted the AZ Mini Club president and we drove out to their house last night to look at their peronal classic Mini collection (26 of them!!!) and to get a brief education. They took us for a drive in a couple different ones. OMgoodness, my dh is even more excited now (if that's possible).

Hi Callie, were you able to get some rest? I hate nights like that, but I don't blame you for being nervous.
Your DH sounds a lot like mine. He works hard, puts up with all the Disney stuff, and never asks for anything in return. I'm wondering what he'll come up with one day?!?!?!

I'm sure he'll do fine coming back. Make sure he calls you from stops along the way. And yay for him getting something he's always wanted and you being so supportive.

Hi everyone. Just had to share that I haven't been around these boards much cuz I am in the mad stages of planning my DW trip. I am at the ADR stage and since I am here in lovely CA that means getting up at 4 to call to make that 7 a.m. time. Gotta love it. I am stoked to say though that today was my LAST day of 7 that I had to call to get my last ADR. And YES I have had to call EVERY flippin day because I am going Thanksgiving week and didn't DARE wait till after the fact.

I am happy to say though that it paid off and we got EVERY restaurant that we wanted including CRT! I am still waiting for them to release the Candlelight Procession packages but that is the last thing.

The only thing that sucks though is the last two times we went in 02 and 05, part of the reason we were able to go was getting great deals on cheap airfare. We were always able to find 199 rt. Well NOT so this time. We always bought almost a year in advance but this time when we looked all the reg airlines were MUCH more expensive so someone suggested waiting for Southwest. I was not thrilled about flying a no frills ariline for a 6 hour flight but if it was cheap I would do it. So I have been agonizing waiting and waiting for them to release Nov fares and then June 1 hit and STILL no flippin fares. Then mom called and they said not till June 26. AHAHAHAHHAHA!

So she found a 330 rt on Delta and said we should probably just take it. The fares for the same type of days in Oct have shot way up and she thought even with getting RIGHT when they release on Southwest, with the gas prices and being Thanksgiving week, she thinks their won't be any deals. So we bit the bullet and I almost had a stroke. For just the 4 of us it cost me almost 1500 bucks. Last time it only cost 800. That is almost double and it MAJORLY cut into my food budget.

Needless to say it doesn't leave me much budget for our ladies trip and probably we will not be doing much with you all except a meal here and there and I hope to god I can afford the plane ticket down there in March! LOL

I did already book our rooms at least.

Anyway I just wanted to share though that I at least got all my ADRS and that is a load off and as crazy as the prices are at least the plane tickets are bought and if they get any worse at least I don't have to think about it any more.

Beth I am sorry your little one is sick. I know how much that sucks. I hope she feels better soon.

Now that I am done maybe I will see you all on the boards more. I have been reading your posts I just don't know everyone like you all do so don't always feel like I can contribute.

I look forward to meeting you all though in march!

I hear ya on those ADRs! They can be a pain sometimes, but I'm really glad you got everything you wanted! That's something to celebrate.

I'm sorry about the airfare. I know it's no consolation, but you aren't the only one. I know a few people who are trying to plan trips and just cannot find a good deal for the life of them! It's so frustrating.

I really hope it doesn't cut into you coming with us though. It can be done on a budget and still be fun!! Plus it's a long ways off so lots can happen between now and then. Like maybe winning the lotto!!

Oh, and I hope we do see you more! Just jump right in and post. It's the only way you'll get to know everyone.

My wife and I really want to go this year. We are local, and since we have dogs, we probably won't be staying on site, but will drive in everyday since we have AP's.

Gas prices are killing me. And I'm hearing they could reach $8/gal by August. Ugh.

$8????????????? No way. We finally hit the $4 mark here at some stations. We were able to get it for $3.85 at Sam's Club. Guess it's a good thing we won't be renewing our APs after they expire in Oct. We can't afford to keep driving back and forth.

I don't know anyone on these boards either, but I still talk, even though I should probably just be quiet and hide in the corner

Beth....How's your DD? Still sick? There is a quick bug going around. Everyone at work is getting it. Stomach flu stuff for 24+ then all good. Hopefully she gets over it quick. But like you said, it is what it is.

She slept soundly through the night. And when she woke up this morning she said she felt fine and wanted to go to school. I must have told her 20 times she could stay home but she didn't want to.

She felt hot, but when I took her temp it was normal. So I gave her some yogurt, and toast and sent her off with instructions that if she felt the slightest bit ill to have the nurse call me and I'd be right there.
But no calls, so I'm hoping she's ok and it was just something she ate! (fingers crossed!)

Ummm... not yet. I've been trying to find a hotel for the 4th of July in Lake Havasu. DBF and I went to Havasu for 6 days last week for Memorial Day and he wants to go back for his birthday (July 3rd). We want to stay at the same hotel but I'm trying to find the best rate.

It was packed. We've been during Spring Break and Labor Day. This was our 1st Memorial Day and this July will be our 1st 4th there. It's a blast! The last time we were there was 3 or 4 years ago and this time it was much more toned down. It seemes like every third boat was a police boat or a cop on a jet ski or a coast guard or lake patrol baot etc. There were cops every where! They have big signs up now that say No Nudity.

We have a Sea Doo but we rarely take it out anymore. We used to go camping right on Lake Buena Vista in CA and spend several days just playing out on the water. Not sure why we don't anymore.

LOL, I remember going once when I was younger, probably junior high, with my parents. And they never been there before either. Well we went during the summer and we stayed for about 20 minutes, and my parents were like "Okay! that's enough!!" There were so many drunk half naked college kids.. You should have seen the look on my parent's faces.. lol.

Oh, I know! Me too. But then again she's only in 2nd grade. School is still "fun". Wait till she's in middle school and then I'm sure she'll opt to stay home as often as she can.
