Just another wimp friend here who votes for the epidural!:thumbsup2 When I gave birth in 1987 they were touting the "birthing room" where you do it all in one room, preferably without drugs. Uh, no thanks, I truly thought I was GOING TO DIE until they gave me the drugs. Again, confessed wimp who cannot handle pain!

Take the epidural. I was young and naive when I had DD and I did it natural. Made my family and my OB/GYN promise not to let me have drugs. No matter what. And then didn't. I changed my mind half way through, and they just kept reminding me that I made them promise. So I did the whole thing natural. UGH! I was so ready for drugs that I told them that if they didn't give me something that I was gonna go to the alley behind the hospital and find a crack or meth dealer. Luckily, it was a short labor. Brutal, but short. So in conclusion, if offered drugs, take em.

When I had my son I went in with the intentions of no drugs and plus I was leery about anyone sticking a needle in my spine :scared: . So I went through 22 hours of labor with NOTHING. When I had my daughter, I went in with the intentions of no drugs, but once it started getting really painful and I started having flashbacks to the pain I was in during DS's birth, I asked for an epidural or drugs, but they told me it was too late :scared1: . Thankfully the labor with DD was only 6 hours.

When I found out I was pregnant again, I pretty much decided I'd get an epidural so Beth you're not a bad influence (well at least not in this matter ;) ).

I can't wait to go back. I think the next time will probably be Christmas time.
Christmas would be nice. I love the castle all lit up. :cloud9:

I would have hopped off my hospital bed and slapped the crap out of my whole family and my doc at that point.

I very moonily told the anesthesiologist that He should not think I was fickle, since I was obviously bearing another man's child, but that at that moment I really loved him!!!

I couldn't see the point of tons of pain. But, as in all things, results can vary. We all do what is right for ourselves!!

If I could have, I would have had my stunt double do the whole labor thing for me.

AMY
:lmao:
I don't like to be in any more pain then I have to be either. My MIL won't even take a Tylenol or an aspirin when she's got a headache. She'll just suffer through it. I think that's silly. Now, I realize that's not the same as labor pains, but for me, I just think if there's a way to make it more pleasant and comfortable, why not? :rotfl:
That and I freely admit I cannot handle the pain!!!

I was in one of those all in one birthing rooms with my first one. I ended up staying in there for 2 days while they tried to make the inducement work. I bet I pissed off a lot of other moms who wanted that room (there was only one at the time) because I was in there so long. :rotfl:

Darn, I'll just have to keep trying. LOL

Well, I had an epidural, but it didn't work.....the really tough part was that I was having a C-section!! :scared1:  They had to pump my iv full of all sorts of drugs that made me sick just to get me numb enough to do the c-section. With DS2 and DD I had a spinal instead of an epidural. But, before we knew that I had to have a c-section with DS1, I was of the opinion "throw as many drugs at me as possible"! I'm a big wuss, too!!!

So another totally unrelated topic....is anyone at the mini-meet dressing up? As in Halloween costumes?? Other than the leis?

Oh, follow up question....when is everyone arriving on Friday for the mini-meet? I'm still in flux a bit, but was wondering if people were making a day of it, arriving for the evening or what?

Remember to vote in the poll for breakfast on Saturday March 7. The link can be found on the first page of this thread.
So far we've only had about 20 votes. But as of now, Chip and Dale's is winning.

:scared1: OMG, that's crazy!! I had a C-section with the twins and I was so scared. I had heard horror stories of women who'd start to regain feeling in the middle of it and I was terrified. It all went fine, but the days leading up to it were a nightmare.
OK, I have to just say, I guess I'm glad my baby making days are over. :rotfl: I'll leave that to those less wimpy then me. LOL

I was only planning to wear the leis. Can you wear a costume into DL?

Well, my situation is different. I'll be there all day with my family and plan to be at Cafe Orleans around 5:15 to check in and meet everyone.

After that, I already told my DH and kids that I want to hang out with you guys for awhile, so I'll have a few hours afterwards if anyone wants to hit some rides. :cool1:

Not sure when the others are getting there though. We should all exchange cell numbers again. Or am I the only one who doesn't already have everyone's cell from before?

Hey Beth, I'm up for rides, definitely!! I still have the PM you sent last time with cell phone numbers, I'll forward it to you and anyone else who wants it. We probably want to make sure everyone's number is current; mine is.

Got it, thanks! The number you have on the list is my home phone. I sent you my cell.

So if anyone needs a cell phone list shall we have them PM you? Is that ok? Or I can forward that list to all those on the mini meet list. Let me know. :)

Do you girls remember last year, how some of us would call other ladies in our group and they couldn't hear us or they were on a ride and didn't know their phone was ringing or that they had a voice message?

I think it'd be good for everyone to learn how to text on their phones, it's such a great way to get through to people. ESPECIALLY at Disneyland where it's LOUD. Also you can put your phone on vibrate, carry it in your pocket, and you can feel when you have a text or a phone call.

I'll be texting, that's for sure!

While my phone has text capability, I DON'T have text as part of my cel phone plan, so texting isn't something I'll be looking to do, and I generally don't answer unless I have to. But, that's just me.

I have Amy, Katie, Cheryl and Stacie's cel phones.
I was thinking about going earlier in the day, but I'm just not sure. Since Katie is planning to have her kids there, I was thinking of bringing the boys, they would be in seventh heaven to be able to hang out without the parental units.
Have I missed it? Do we have a list of who's going to the mini-meet? Oh, never mind, I found it on the front page.

Like Michelle, I don't have texting as an option on my cell plan, so it costs me extra to receive or send texts. Please do NOT text me. I use vibrate/high in the parks, and answer if and when I can. I'm personally looking forward to some "alone" time during the weekend. You have to understand that I NEVER get to be alone. I have my kids 24/7 with homeschooling and my husband works from home. So time alone for me is special and sacred.

I'm excited to see everyone on Friday night for dinner and spending time with y'all that evening, and even hooking up for some shows/rides throughout the weekend, but if I'm not answering my phone or returning calls it's because I'm enjoying some down time.

Hope y'all understand. (my smileys aren't working -- insert group hug here).

PS/ And I may just be feeling this way currently because I am TOTALLY PMSing and want to RUN FOR THE HILLS to get away from my family. Hoping by next weekend I'll be feeling less anti-social. ;)

I am hoping to arrive about noon or 1 p.m.

That's great to know, Cheryl. I want to try to time my arrival near yours so I can drop off my bag in the room and grab a room key before you hit the parks. Would you be willing to call me on my cell before you leave for the hotel so I can try to meet you there? I'll be driving from Claremont -- I think it's about 30 min away.

My plan is to be to the hotel by 3; we have to stop and pick up Christine on the way. She won't be staying with us Friday night, since her pass is blacked out on Saturday. I will call both of you when I am at Biola. As long as my name is on the reservation, I shouldn't have a problem checking in, right?

I voted, and as of now, I am in the minority. Chip and Dale's is the only breakfast I have done, and I was not overly impressed with the buffet. The food was sort of wierd. But hey, I am sure I will find something lovely on the menu and that is a great option and the environment is just beautiful, so you won't hear any complaining from me!

OMG, if I tried to text anything it would take me 10 minutes to get one word out. :lmao: :lmao:

OMG, Callie doesn't love us anymore!!!!

;) Of course we understand!! Heck, I don't know how you do it. I love my kids but honestly there are days when I savor their school time so I can catch my breath!! You don't even get to do that. :worship: Seriously, do you ever just hop in the car and go for a drive with the radio blasting? I could not have people (even family) around me 24/7. I'd go nuts.

Aww, I'm sorry. But hey, the company will make it a much better experience for you. ;) :rotfl:

Yes, I'd be happy to. Also, please PM me your last name so I can add you to the reservation (I know I had it, but think I deleted the PM from last April!)

No, you shouldn't have trouble--especially since I should be checked in by then and will be using my cc. If it is an issue I will come back to the hotel so you can get your stuff in the room and get your keys.
