Morning everyone.

First off Cristabel hope your mom is feeling better. I know that is a rough surgery so I hope she is doing well!!

And thanks to EVERYONE who wished Katy a happy birthday. She is SOOO excited! My little Chef in training. She wants an easy bake oven and of course that is what she is getting but she doesn't know it yet ;)

Tonight we are having a family party at my mom's place but today I have to run in to work since I am not working on Friday so I have to do that today and then tonight we go to mom's for dinner and of course Katy got to pick the menu and she is going to help grandma cook it of course ;)

And then we will just have a small cake and we will open the gifts from us. Then tomorrow we will spend the day at mom and dad's watching the bowl games and probably have a prime rib. We were supposed to go to Truckee and play in the snow but as I said Shane has to work on Friday so that isn't going to happen now. Then as I said Friday Shane has to work as does Lynn so I will probably just hang out with the girls. We may go see another movie or rent some and then Saturday is the big birthday party at Strikes (a big bowling place here in town). So that should be fun. Then Sunday Shane has to work and vacation is over for another year. WHEW!

Everyone sounds like they are going to have some fun and the menus sound YUM!

Thought I would do a then and now of Katy for the fun of it.

This was her first pic.

And of course I HAD to post her first disney trip since this is the DIS boards after all ;)

So cute! :cutie:

Tinkermell.... i miss Wendy too!:guilty:
the tinkerbell image is on the 1st page.

Tracey... :rotfl: ...it always makes me smile to see you!

Jordansmomma... DH has a great staff and they've been with him for many many years..so it's easy to do things for them, cuz they are so nice.
Are you missing your son? When does he come home?

Yep I miss him lots!! He comes home in a wk from today.
yesterday they went to Chicago to see some comedian.
He text me and said he had THE BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD!!
My aunt lives in Lousiville and is only an hour away so she might be
going to see him on Friday.

Hey gals. I decided to mix things up a bit for the New Year and color my hair darker (not permanent, just for fun). Here's the new and different me:

Photo 157.jpg

I like it! I always dye my hair..some color.
On Saturday my friend the hairdresser cut a crap load of hair off...:scared1:
I had to close my eyes...I was the last of our friends with long hair.

Ladies I just did something I don't think I have ever done.

I wrote an email to Disney, and complained of the firework schedule.

If you have the chance, give them a buzz too.

If they don't show them more often, I think this could backfire, and DL could lose even more money.

Morning!

I've been busy this morning setting my budget in place for 2009. We'll see how long it lasts! :lmao: It almost took an act of congress to get it balanced. I have set really high savings goals for us.

I sent DH to the post office. I sold a few things on ebay. I've set a goal to pay for this trip by selling and saving. I want to try and do it without cutting into our normal budget. It's just fun for me. My budget has increased since I decided to join you because I decided to do the VIP tour and Club 33. I need to win the lottery.

Kelly, those pics are precious. What wonderful memoires. I can't wait to have first trip to Disney pics! :goodvibes Give your DTR a great big birthday hug from all of us.

Callie, your hair loks very nice! I'm coloring mine today also. I haven't done it in a few years, but am tired of spending so much money on my hair. You look beautiful as always. princess:

There is so much that I want to do today. I doubt I get it all done. It's my only day with DH this week. We will probably do something fun. We just got Wild Hogs and Sex and the City: the movie in. I'm sure he'll pick Wild Hogs. It's old, but so are we. We never stay on top of movies. :rolleyes1

OK, talk with you all later!

So cute! Thanks for sharing those. They grow so fast.

What's going on with the fireworks? I'm so clueless lately. I haven't been following any of the schedule changes.

I need to win the lottery.
Me too!! ;)

I just wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year. I have no clue what we are going to do today. I do know we won't be on the Strip with the thousands of other people!! :scared1: Talk to y'all later! :)

:lmao: I love the smoking smiley! I know Callie will really aprreciate it. ;)

As far as the fireworks, there aren't any. Or at least that's what 'they' are saying. It's one of the reasons why F! is going to be nightly for a while. I'm not sure when they will be back on again. I'm hoping to see some during our trip.

Good Morning everyone!

I'm typing really slow today because I was bit by my dog yesterday and a couple of my fingers on my right hand are all swollen. I can't really use my right hand ring finger at all. I might have to go to the doc if it gets worse. UGH, I really don't want to get a tetanus shot......or stiches!

I don't remember the last time I got a tetanus shot. Is it common to get a booster tetanus when you go to the hospital to have a baby? I know I was stuck with a lot of needles, but what they were all for, I have no idea. I was a little preoccupied at the time.:goodvibes

(Our dog is not quite two years old and has been going through a heat cycle. She's NEVER tried to bite anyone before. EVER. Apparently being in heat makes her very touchy, especially back there on her hind end, if you know what I mean. I think it's time to get her fixed!)

Beth - yep, DH would go on the ladies trip if he wasn't the only guy there. He LOVES DLR almost as much as me. But then if other guys went.....well, it wouldn't be a ladies trip, now would it?.;)

Callie - I think the darker color looks terrific! I colored mine before our trip to WDW......had to cover up some greys.:headache:

Yep, thanks for the smokin smiley, Beth. :lmao:

The reason they aren't having fireworks for the first 2.5 months of the year is because they are repaving Main Street and working on the tracks for the trolleys. They can't have people trying to crowd in to watch fireworks when they have construction barriers up on Main Street. From what I understand, the fireworks will return for Spring Break peak season and the new Celebrate parade will be unveiled.

I can highly suggest getting the annual pass!! I ordered mine from Costco and got the $50 gift card, but there is a delivery fee ($15??). Alternatively, if you order before midnight tomorrow, you can get the $20 off from Disney. Hmm...decisions, decisions.

I can't find the annual pass deal on Costco's website. Could you lead me in the right direction?:flower3:

Also, what is the $20 off from Disney you mention? Is this when you order an annual pass through Costco, or is this a special only on the Disneyland website?

What i'm going to do with the tinkerbelle t shirt... is put the image on a disc..then also print it out..and take it as well as the shirts to our local silk screen printer and get them to do it...it should work..right?:confused3

They may not be able to do it because of copyright issues. You can't get them printed at other printers on-line for sure because of that.

If you don't want to make it yourself, Zazzle does have the exact Tink picture :thumbsup2

She is nearly two? I'm surprised you guys could handle her first heat cycle. We got Osita done before anything could happen. Also in California you have to have it done by a certain age. unfortunately we didn't and we got fined :headache:

but my dog is still crazy. I don't know what kind of dog you have but i know most terriers, as they get older get sensitive in the rear area eithe because of arthritis or they aren't used to it. So everyday and multiple times throughout the day I make sure i touch her backside & correct her if she gets nippy.

aaaaaawwwwwww kelley... what a sweet story about your baby:goodvibes
how funny about the wild turkeys.. it makes me think of a southpark episode.:rotfl:

LOL--do you like South park too? (I LOVE south park--when I can remember to watch it!)

I'm always down for a cruise. Usually you can find really great deals for cruises. But I always end up with my bar tab costing more than my cruise. That's not good.

Sounds yummy. I originally started with just DBF and I staying home with the kids. Then my brother and his kids, his friend, his neighbor, a few more of our friends, a co worker or two, and some cousins. Now instead of a quite night in, its gonna be a party. Everyone is pitching in though. They are bringing what they want to drink and some appitizers to share. I will be making bacon wrapped dates, stuffed mini portobellos, guacamole and chips, finger sandwiches, and brie pockets. I might make more, but I haven't decided yet, I will see what inspires me at the store tomorrow.

Well, now I'm up to 10 people--my other friends and their two-year old twins :scared1: You can bet the cats will be under the bed for most of their visit.

Capri, I'm so sorry you got bit. I don't believe they give you a tetanus booster during labor & delivery. I hope you won't have to go to the doctor for it.

So sorry about your hand! Unfortunately, you only receive a tetanus booster with childhood immunizations (as part of the Dpt) and if you are injured somehow that puts you at risk (step on a nail, dogbite etc).

They used to say to have it updated every 10 years but we will usually update for an injury if you haven't had one in the past 5. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Of course, if it is your dog, you would likely know if they had tetanus. But you may want to get it checked to be safe. Either way, make sure you keep it clean and watch for signs of infection. Bites can get badly infected. Sometimes they will start antibiotics to make sure, just in case.

Sorry for the lecture...can't help it, I'm an ER nurse after all!! Hope it gets better,

Did it bleed nicely? Was it open enough so that you could wash it out with water and/or hydrogen peroxide? Tetanus is an ANaerobic organism, meaning it thrives in closed, no-air situations. If it bled, there was oxygen and it wouldn't live. "Tetanus needs an anaerobic environment to thrive; a bleeding wound is not that environment. "

Plus, there's just about no way to get the tetanus toxoid only, you would end up getting the DTaP (or whatever the heck the current one is called), and people have reactions to those often. My mom got a spider bite, was convinced to get a booster, the doc swore up and down a million times she was getting the tetanus toxoid ONLY, and then 2 months later after begin sicker than ever before immediately after the shot, she dragged herself back to the doc, demanded her records, and they had given her the one with diphtheria and pertussis. They lied, and she was beyond sick after.

So if it bled, don't even think about getting that booster.

I'm now going to go cry and throw up b/c while looking up info on that I found a Dr Mendelsohn article that states there's a growing concern of a link between dtap and leukemia, and my mom got leukemia about a year after the spider bite and shot, and died due to a medical mess-up and missed diagnosis after going into remission...augggggghhhhh

$30 off...Deluxe for 239. Good through today. disneyland.com/deluxeoffer Print at home.

Capri, I also wanted to mention (the Mendelsohn thing blew my mind and made me forget) that if your hand gets infected looking, you definitely might need antibiotics, but I know I'd right now be dunking it in peroxide and letting it do it's magic. (our last malamute had something wrong with him and liked to bite me and draw blood so I got used to doing this sort of thing).

:) I have fun in my mind picturing the ladies altogether, with a bevy of males sneakily following them while taking care of children. Daddy daycare sort of thing, but since we're all nearby, they'd try to be covert while keeping close just in case. :)

Oh Yikes, Costco doesn't have it anymore! Sorry. Better hurry for the $30 (Thanks Molly)off at Disney.
