Well I got ALL my cards mailed out to the gals today AND my photopass cards came in the mail and I got them ALL addressed so I am DONE!!! WOO HOO! Now I just have to mail THOSE on Monday and I am DONE with my Christmas cards for the year! WHEW! ONE thing down. And I got Heather's and Cheryl's cards! Thanks! Loved em! Cheryl LOVED the castle card. Made me smile! That is what I chose for our cards as well. We took our pic in front of the castle with the icicle lights and they had a photopass background of the castle with the lights as well so it was nifty! I like to do a photo card every year so the relatives can see how big the kiddos are getting and it is extra fun when going to Disney cuz they have cards you can order with your photopass.

I also took the time to put all my personal pics in the album I bought on the trip making sure of course to leave spaces for the photpass pics that I am going to make with my cd! So I am ALMOST organized. Only got a couple of loads of laundry left and I got all my suitcases put away! WHEW! Now if dh ever gets home we MIGHT just get the ole tree up tonight. Course that may just be wishful thinking but who knows. I usually have it up Thanksgiving weekend so I am a bit stressed that it's not up yet. Luckily we have a fake one so we can put it up whenever but still. And I bought invites for Katy I am just putting off calling the bowling place cuz I know I will probably have to give them a deposit and I have been spending money right and left it seems LOL. Ah but it must be done. I will probably do it first of next week. Must get it done!

Anyway I am slowly but surely getting organized, can you tell I am a tad OCD, can't stand being unorganized! :)

Oh and all that talk of baking sounds YUM! I just can't do it though cuz I still need to lose major weight and I stopped cooking and baking awhile back cuz it is WAY too tempting to EAT it all! I splurged and bought some fudge in DW though. They had a thing if you bought 6 pieces you got 33% off and you know I just CAN'T pass up a deal! ;) My FAV is maple fudge from Canada. I had that at the Food and Wine festival last time and it is SO yum. So is the peanut butter! And I would KILL for good chocolate chip cookies. I was amazed that I only put on 3 pounds over this trip because I DEF was not watching what I ate. I had desert with lunch AND dinner pretty much every meal. It is just TOO good NOT to there! Not to mention the meals themselves. We ate at table service every night practically and FANCY places too like Le Cellier, Boma, Artists Point and on and on. EVERY flippin night. I am amazed I didn't gain 10 lbs! LOL. It was worth it though and as soon as Jan hits it is back to the grind stone although I fear that you guys are going to kill me in March. Good thing it is only a few days! :)

Well I better get back to my work.

Have a good evening everyone!

Hi ladies. I'm working a dog agility show with my dd this weekend. This is her first competition show and she took the first place ribbon in her very first run this morning! I'm so proud of her! :goodvibes

These dog shows make full days though (8-5) so I'm exhausted. Oh, and Cheryl, our hotel stay together must have put us on the same cycle, cause my Auntie came for a visit this morning as well. Ugh. Hope you enjoy time with Molly tomorrow.

No baking for me this weekend! Maybe next -- maybe not.

Talk to y'all later!

Ugh, me too. Aunty Flo that is. Do you think our hormones are all getting in sync via the internet??? Worst part for me is that the last year I am very irregular, so dear old aunty was just hear 10 days ago. My husband is way over it...

I'm probably gonna do some choco chip ones, maybe some white chocolate cranberry ones, unless I do princess cookies which is white chocolate/candy cherries, cranberry bog bars YUM, Magic Bars, Butterscotch blondies, and many more. It's 25 days of holy cow goodies lol.
Oh my. Those all sound so good and fancy. LOL When I bake, I am boring. I stick to my favorites like chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin. Stuff from my childhood I guess. :confused3
Too bad we don't all live closer. We could do one of those cookie exchanges! I've never done one but they seem fun.

DBF is housesitting for the next week for some friends so I'm hoping to get a lot done in his absence--and Mom is coming today and we are going to DL for a few hours in the morning to meet up with Molly(bumbershoot) and her family.
How fun! Enjoy your time at DL with Molly and your mom. :wizard:

Very funny (it's a small world after all :rolleyes1 )
That is funny, and yes, it is a small world after all. Now of course I will be humming that all night long.

YAY!!! Check one thing off your list.
I cannot believe you only gained 3 lbs! I hate you!!! ;) LOL Seriously, I gained 9 pounds when we were in DL for only a week and we shared everything. But I've always been like that. If I even look at food I gain weight.

That's great! How exciting for her, and you have every right to be proud. :goodvibes

Darn that Aunt Flo! She'll probably wait and visit me on Christmas Day. Yay.
Your poor husband! I bet he's not a happy camper right now. :rotfl2:

I'm exhausted. I baked all day long. Ruben and Adam had some errands to run, and Noelle had a friend over, so I was in the kitchen all day. It was fun though, and I had Christmas movies playing on the tv. :santa:

I made chocolate walnut fudge, frosted brownies, oatmeal raisin cookies, sugar cookies, monkey bread, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, and Mexican wedding cookies.
Tomorrow I need to make some bread pudding because I already have the stuff and need to use it up. And I'll probably let the girls and Noelle's friend decorate the sugar cookies.

I gave most of it away already to neighbors, and what's left I packaged up for Ruben to take to work on Monday. I LOVE to bake, but goodness knows I do not need to eat it! I had way too many "samples" already. :rolleyes1

Anyway, I hope you all had a good day. :goodvibes

I just rummage through cookbooks, and the net if it sounds good I try it. Sometimes it ends up a keeper. The mall was BAD. People were rude, ran into you, and drove like it was there first time. Ugh it wore me out yet I bearly got anything done.:sad2:

Well, ladies--I had the WORST headache yesterday . . . . just excruciating. Could not understand it . . . . . haven't had one like that in a looooonnnggggg time.

And then this morning it all made sense--when I realized that Aunt Flo had come to visit after a year's absence . . . . sigh . . . . I was hoping I was all done with that "kid stuff"!

Srsly?! My aunt decided to visit Thursday. That in addition to being sick has made me take 12 hour sleeps, eat lots of bad things, and sit on my butt & play Wii all day. I did have work tonight and I didn't feel like going but I'm glad I got some money!:woohoo: I might work tomorrow but I won't know until then since it's an on-call shift.

Does anyone know if you can mail baked goods? I thought that'd be a nice Christmas gift to some of my friends.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

WoW! You all are so busy! Making such delicious things for the season. I want to try a white chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookie..maybe when we come back.

We had such a happy day yesterday..grilling fajitas, with warm tortillas..i made a big bowl of guacamole and a crockpot of chili con queso with some tostadas.. it was simple and good.. Ooohh and this sauce i poured over the fajitas after they were sliced..

i put one entire bunch of cilantro in the food processor with four fresh buds of garlic ..juice of a big lime..some sea salt ..a little soy sauce..then olive oil while it pureed..to the point of being a sauce... ohmygosh... it turned out so yummy! then i poured it over the sliced fajitas.. very good...the family decided we would have it from now on.

The grandbabies stayed the night and helped decorate the tree ..all the ornaments are at their height level..:rotfl: welllllllllll.. i need to go make breakfast they will be up soon and hungry!

Be Sweet to Each Other!

Oh gosh, I am having a difficult time keeping everyone straight. Maybe to help those of us that are memory challenged, we could all get one of those darling badges with our names on it. I don't know where you get them, but it would surely help me out when we are all gathered.

Yes, the mall this time of year is a pain in the butt! Especially if you have a long list of things to accomplish. My best times at the mall or out shopping are when I don't have anything to do but I could just wander around and people watch.

My mom used to mail baked good all the time. I know she had to pack them carefully and only send certain items. Try Googling baked goods that ship well and see what you get. Here's one site that popped up: http://www.baking911.com/howto/mail.htm

Mmmmmmm, that sounds so good! Too cute about the ornaments being at kid level. :goodvibes

Well, I'll answer to just about anything. :rolleyes1 So don't worry about me. LOL But those lanyards we're going to have will have our DIS name and real name on it, so you'll be fine.

Last year on the trip, when I first met up with everyone, MamaKate/Katie was one of the first I met. She had posted her pic before the trip and in it her hair was up, and so I (and most everyone else) thought she had short hair. But then I saw this lady with hair to the middle of her back and I was like who the heck is that!?!?!?! (She already knows this story, love ya Katie!!)

The first thing we did was the Crush show and I was trying to sneak a peek at her lanyard the whole time to try and figure out who she was!! :lmao: :lmao: So even posting pics doesn't always help, but the lanyards will. :thumbsup2

sunday.gif

Good morning ladies!! I can't believe it's Sunday already. This weekend is flying by.

I'm thinking of taking Noelle to see Twilight today. She's reading the book and now wants to see the movie, so maybe we'll make a mother/daughter day of it and do a movie/lunch/shopping day.

I hope you all have a good day today. :)

(Hmmm, I wonder how many times I can use "day" in one post.....)

Well girls--I am just not up to DL today. (Boooooooo)

I have to call Molly and give her the bad news--my auntie's visit has just taken too much out of me--I wish she'd just either visit on a regular schedule or stay away!

Oh, and to top it off, there is MAJOR drama going on with the DBF (who today is definitely the ex-DBF). so my Mom is here (she was going to DL with me) and we are just going to go out to breakfast instead and I am going to try to get rid of the headache--ALL of them! Mom doesn't know about the DBF drama so that's making it doubly hard.

((hugs)) Cheryl I feel your pain. I get severe migraines due to AF hormones and so I am on permanent hormones to keep AF away because if not I get debilitating headaches during that week that completely knock me out. I honestly wish they would have just given me a hysto when I had my last c-section but whatever. On top of it I have a condition called interstitial cystitis that makes me feel like I have a permanet bladder infection so I am dealing with THAT on top of everything else and am due to have surgery after the first of the year and now I have thist stupid rib problem. I swear I am falling apart and I am only 41! Sheesh. If it is not one thing it is another.

It seems like I get one thing fixed and then something ELSE goes wrong. Sometimes I think if I am this messed up at 40 what is it going to be like at 60 or 80. GEEZ! I hope you start to feeling better soon! I of all people know what a nasty headache can do so I def feel your pain. Hope things start to look up for ya! :)

Oh no cherie... I would say if Aunt was not draining your energy I would for sure tell Dbf what he can stick in his pipe, and smoke untill he can get it together, and I would take off running to the happiest place on earth. I had to have a hysterectomy in 05 due to endometriosis, and abnometriosis, so I got a double hit, and I just made 30. I'm not sure on twilight the papers caught the little girl holding a marijuna pipe clear as day lighting it while sitting on her front steps in broad daylight. Guess it just leaves a bad taste since so many tweens are into the movie, and actors.

I'm having a great weekend with my DH. I ended up getting yesterday off from work, so I took my boys to a birthday party. They had never been to one before, and Nathan was a little shy at first. We ended up having lots of fun.

I then went to Babies 'R' Us and Toys 'R' Us last night. My parents sent the boys gift cards, so I went and bought toys from them, and now I have more wrapping to do. :faint:

Today, I've been lazy. :rolleyes1 I am starting to go through their toys and get rid of 'baby' toys. We have too much. I need research and see if there is a good charity that will take used toys. If not, I knoew some peopel at work would be very greatful to get them. The next thing I'm going to tackle are the baby and maternity clothes. :scared1: I might be gone for days once I get in the middle of them.

That's about it for around here. I have to work tomorrow and Tuesday, and then have another day with DH off Wed. I can't wait!

I'm off now to read Kelmac's TR.

I don't know what kind of cookies I'm going to make, I want to start traditions, but haven't decided what to make 'traditional'. I say we all post our favorite cookie recipe. It would be the closest we could come to a cookie swap. I know I'm always interested to hear what others are unable to live without. I don't want to miss out! popcorn::

Hello . . . . recipes . . . . hellloooooooooo

Well girls--I am just not up to DL today. (Boooooooo)
Aw, I'm sorry Cheryl.

Sometimes I think if I am this messed up at 40 what is it going to be like at 60 or 80. GEEZ!
I feel that way too! I'm 36, but it seemed like as soon as I hit 35 all these things started going wrong with me. It sucks!

Really? Well, that sucks. The actress that plays Bella has a good thing going with these movies. Hopefully she doesn't blow it by doing something stupid.

I finally finished my trip report.

Hopefully this link works. Otherwise it is in the DW section.

Mine aren't nearly as fancy and entertaining as Beth and Wendy's and sorry no pics. I don't have the energy. But anyway there it is for what it is worth if you are bored. :)
Thanks Kelly! I'm going to check that out later tonight. :surfweb:

My recipes are boring. I'm a creature of habit and growing up my favorites were chocolate chip cookies. Just plain old Nestle chocolate chip cookies. Simple, basic, can't really mess them up, and always good. :goodvibes
I've tried other fancier cookies, and while I like them, I always end up back with chocolate chip. But I'd like to see some others recipes. :)
