Well ladies I had to make a tough decison about the ladies only trip to California. Though I really wanted to go. The air fare was more than twice that it was last year. Now with the awesome deals with the WDW package. I had to decide what was best. As I was paying for my son to go. So unfortunatley I will be backing out this year.

But I will be still coming to visit you at this thread. Maybe next year the prices will be back to normal

What a tough decision, but I completely understand. I really wish we were able to take advantage of the WDW deal this spring. Enjoy yourself! Are you going to be there for the Flower and Garden festival? It's sooo beautiful! I know you will have a great time, but am sorry that I won't get to meet you.

Hey ladies!

On Saturday morning, after the delicious Chip n Dale breakfast and before the awesome "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour, we are going to meet up at 10:30 am and do a scavenger hunt!

This scavenger hunt will be for everyone, meaning that we wont ask questions that involve tons of brainpower or Disneyland knowledge! It will be a lot of fun and you'll learn something new and see the park in a different light.

The scavenger hunt will be Disneyland specific, so you wont be running around both parks and through Downtown Disney. It will be time friendly so you can fit in all the fun activities you want to do that day.

What you can expect to collect through your hunt will include collecting specific objects, taking pictures of different things and looking for details that you might not know exist (like the existence of a certain monkey bride ). We will provide each team with what they will need for the hunt.

The best part about the hunt: Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!!! The prizes will be awesome and if I could play, I would just to get a prize, but I can't, so you all need to play for me!

Ok, so I still have not done my statistics homework. I'm working tonight and tomorrow morning. Class isn't till 5 so I have some time. How I wish that my dogs didnt beg me to lounge in bed with them watching tv all morning. Then maybe I would have gotten some work done. Oh well.

Beth can you remove my name from Walking in Walt's Steps Tour. I'm looking over the whole schedule and want some more 'free time' than the scheduled stuff.

Now with the awesome deals with the WDW package. I had to decide what was best. As I was paying for my son to go. So unfortunatley I will be backing out this year. With are dollar worth 1.29 US it was not making sense to be paying hotel and tickets in US funds because then you have the conversion rate so it ends up costing me around 1.35 Canadian for every US dollar I would spend.

The airfair down was around 680.00 X 2 plus hotel plus tickets and food was just not making any sense to pay that much. And we would only have 5 days there really.

My son has not been to disney since he was a little kid. So I really wanted to give him a good time. And finances dictated really what was the better thing to do.

But I will be still coming to visit you at this thread. Maybe next year the prices will be back to normal

Sorry to hear that, but I can't blame you for going to to WDW with your son.

The fact that I can't do it all is exactly why I took my name off the wait list to begin with. It's a tough decision because I really want to check BB out. I am going to have some incredible dining experiences on this trip though, so I won't mourn the loss of BB too badly if I get to go on the tour.

I am going to wait and see if I'm going on the VIP tour though before I take my name off the BB list.

For those of you who are in charge of the tours, I'm assuming when you reserve/request the tour you will be paying for it with your CC or debit card and we will be paying you back when we arrive, correct?

Well, I was wondering if any of you would be willing to accept Disney dollars in addition to cash? I might be receiving some for Christmas. If not, it's totally cool I was just wondering.

So now I have to get into accountant mode and calculate, more or less, how much I need to save for this trip.

Luckily I will be upgrading my pass to Deluxe when I go in December. I have the exact amount of DD (Disney Dollars) to upgrade from my So. Cal AP w/ parking to a Deluxe w/o parking. I will add the parking later on, when I have more cash.

It's really helpful that TDS (the Disney Store) pays me every week.

If I end up putting the charge on my card, I might be able to work that, as I am sure I will be leaving $75 at DLR that weekend.

We need to know if anyone is interested in the scavenger hunt?

Actually the gals working were so darn relieved that I wasn't mad and not yelling at them, that I felt like I spread a little pixie dust. Can you imagine yelling about a thing like that!

I worked at Amazon.com during the time period that 2, maybe 3, Harry Potter books were released.

I can believe ANYTHING that customers do towards employees...anything.



Hubby doesn't work normal Customer Service, but he still gets to talk to people selling on amazon, and today he was called a Bible thumping born again Christian (b/c he asked the woman to stop swearing at him) Nazi. Repeatedly. Oh, and moronic. All while actually trying to help the woman who had a bonafide problem!


So is your copy of WallE good and working? Many people with the 3 disc set are reporting that it's not working.... Which definitely can happen sometimes in DVD production, but it's not the worst that can happen!

When I was first there, in late '99, we got a rash of calls from people who had bought a kid's DVD, and instead of the kid's movie, instead, a Hustler video was on it...no warning...it was very very obvious that the manufacturing plant had an extremely disgruntled employee on their hands who was able to switch the content of the DVD...it was SO fun talking to the person who had plunked her kids down to watch a known and safe movie while she went to wash dishes or whatever only to come back in the room to find THAT! (she was more reasonable than those whose copies of HarryPotter were 5 minutes late, by the way)

And I am home and survived my last day of work for 2 weeks! YAY! The girls got their homework packets and we even have most of it done. The crazy teachers expected them to take these gigantic books with them! FORGET it! They are only missing 1 day tomorrow and 2 half days in December. STUPID! You know they won't miss that much tomorrow because they are having a school talent show and then in my 3rd graders class they are having a thanksgiving feat deal. And they don't have any homework because Friday is a teacher work day so they wouldn't have had any homework so they were only missing whatever classwork they would have had and Thursdays are always short days anyways.

Then the week we get back is all minimum days because it is parent teacher conference week. So how much could they have missed getting out at 11:30? SHEESH. But NOOOO they still gave them like 10 pages each and 2 text books and they each have to read and fill out journals and on and on. Puhleeze!!!! But ANYWAYYYYYY we got most of it done nonetheless so we only have to drag a few things on the plane thank goodness!

Oh but as much as I have bad mouthed delta they sent me a cool e-mail today and I got to check us ALL the way through Atlanta to Orlando!! So I have my boarding passes and have checked my luggage and everything!! So even when I get to Atlanta I am good to go!!!

Plus I even know what the movie is and what gate I am at in Sac!! Mamma Mia by the way (for the movie )

So I think I have most of it covered! As I said I will probably check in one last time to say bye tomorrow but that's bout it! Take care and nighty nighty!

Well... everyone have a happy weekend.. i'm off..to pack and go to san antonio. My Father in law called my husband monday, He needs help marking things for their estate sale as they are selling their city home and moving to their lake house, because my mother in laws alzheheimemiers { i have got to learn to spell that!} is getting worse by the day.

So i'm going this weekend to price everything and help him pack away what to keep ..what to give to different kids and what to donate to the church.. what to sell.

i will be back monday.

then wednesday we will drive my parents to my grandmothers {a 2 day car trip there for a 2 day visit then a 2 day car trip back, can't fly because of my fathers bad heart} and drive back on monday.

then i have to pack to go on our family trip to disneyland on the 11th.

Do i sound a little tired.. i am.. my asthma is being troublesome.

i just wanted to get the ball rolling on the scavenger hunt and it looks like Wendy did a super great job! Melody has really great things for you to find as well as somethings you are going to be HaPpY to win!

Good Morning ladies! I have a "lovely" day ahead of me. First, I get to clean the house to show condition because I fired my realtor yesterday. She has done absolutely NOTHING to get this house sold and yesterday was the second time someone has used the lock box to enter our house when I was not properly notified. I was so angry I was spitting nails yesterday. So, we are interviewing a new realtor today which means the house has to look its best.

If that isn't enough fun, I also get to go to the endodontist (root canal specialist) for an evaluation. I'm not sure which I am dreading most, the root canal or the dental bill.

Anyone just wanna shoot me and put me out of my misery?

Wishing I was tagging along with Tina at DLR right about now. . .

Good morning all! Well this will probably be my last entry for almost 2 weeks. Gosh how will I ever get caught up when I get back! Beth you need to keep your word and give me those cliff notes!! Now don't have TOO much fun or decide to do anything crazy! You know if you guys decide to do anything fun I am probably in so don't make any big decisions and close the polls or anything while I'm away!

Also I know the Christmas card list goes out next week but mine will probably be late. I am usually the early one as I always send mine out thanksgiving weekend but mine are going to be WAY late this year. For my family ones I am doing a photo card from the world from photopass and I won't even probably GET them till close to Christmas by the time I get back, select it and then get it in the mail. But I promise once I get back and get the list from Beth I will get you guy's mailed! I am not going to wait on your's I will just buy cards for you guys cuz I don't want to wait on those!!

Well you guys have fun and I will be sure and do a little report and post some pics when I get back! I suppose since it is DW I will have to post on that "other board" eh? Well anyway have fun and I'll miss you guys!

Oh gosh, such a challenging time to be selling a home. I know you won't believe me, but you really don't have to have clean your house to show condition for the Realtor. Hey, given your experience maybe ask your agent to put your lock box on a chain and padlock that you can attach and detach to your home when you have been appropriately notified. Another strategy would be to have a lock that can't be opened with a key. Chain, or slide lock that you can have on, and you only remove them when you are notified of a showing. Of course then you have to be able to respond in a timely way, but it doesn't sound like that would be a problem.

Anyhow, not sure what you deserve the most sympathy for. Selling or the possible root canal! Good Luck

Ugh, for me it would be the bill without a doubt! They can give you drugs for the root canal. Nothing can dull the pain of the bill.
