Good news, I got my sister a 1-day Park Hopper for only $64:cool1: If you want to know how, I'll tell you but I'm pretty sure some of you won't like it. So I'll be sure to bring my flame suit when I reply. :stir:
Gee....I wonder if it's because you work for Disney?:confused3

:rotfl:

Hey.........my family could use some of those!

Thanks for the link! It sounds like lots of fun to me. So, we basically tell the VIP guide exactly what we want to do, and they try to make it happen? What time do you think the tour will start? Are we only doing the 6 hours? How do you work meals into the tour? I'd hate to waste 1.5 hours of paid for tour time eating! Sorry for all the questions. I've just never considered doing it, but can see how this trip might be my one and only chance to do it. I'm now thinking I shouldn't have had Beth take my name off the waitlist. Also, reading that thread, a person mentioned that the front tables to Billy Hill were dream awards. Well, when we go there will be no such thing as a dream award! ;)

ETA-I just read "somewhere else" that there is a special VIP room in DCA with refreshments for those doing the VIP tour. Is this true?
Our group didn't go to it. But then we stayed at DL the whole time.

Morning all. Yep I watched Wall E last night. :) Got my copy from Walmart yesterday for only 14.00 bucks! LOVE Wally world! My dh's cousin came over last night to go over feeding our animals and we all watched it. Then of course I had to watch dancing with the stars of course. Now today is my last day of h e double hockey sticks. I have to go into work eventhough I don't normally work on Wednesdays to get everything done before I leave. It is going to be a crazy day. And of course I couldn't just have a relaxing evening before we go because the girls just so happen to have their church group tonight. So dh and I are going over to mom and dad's because we have decided to have one bag of just shoes LOL.

With the whole weight rule we didn't want to weigh our bags down with shoes and they want to play golf one day and dh is insisting on taking his stupid golf shoes. I am not taking mine but I am taking a pair of tennis shoes AND my crocs which I am actually wearing on the plane. I hate having to take shoes that you have to tie and untie with the whole security thing. Plus we are having one nice grown up dinner out so I had to take a nice pair of dress shoes and then I took my croc flip flops just in case we go to the pool. CRAZY. So betwixt us all we have LOTS of shoes LOL. So we are going over there to drop off our shoes and golf stuff (gloves, balls and tees) and putting it all in this one duffle bag that will be someones checked bag since Shane and I share a suitcase. I just hope our bag doesn't go over the weight limit.

We packed all winter clothes and I have 6 pairs of jeans and he has 4. But I have all really light weight tops and I am wearing my big heavy sweat shirt and so is he and we are carrying our jackets so hopefully it will be ok.

Man I really hate these new rules! First they make you pay for the FIRST bag, then you have to pay if it is over weight THEN you have to pay for a SECOND bag and on and on. They get you coming and going! Normally we are ok but when you are going for almost two weeks AND in cold weather your bag is natuarly going to be heavier. As it is I am going to have to do laundry because I didn't bring enough for the whole time. I am not one to wear the same thing twice. Dh will be I can't do that. BLEH.

Anyway so I just have to get through today and I will probably check in one last time tomorrow morning to say goodbye because we will leave the house bout 9ish. Our plane leaves at 11.

Have a good day. I am off to work! :)

I don't know all those answers Heather. But, I think once we schedule, we will be able to start working on all of that. We can schedule when we are at the 90 day mark, which is not too far off. I am not inclined to eat during the tour either. I think we should arrive full, grab a snack as opportunity presents itself. Hey, I think the guide can wait in lines for you while on a ride or something?? The snack room at California Adventure sounds great to me! I sort of think a schedule like 9-3, or 10-4. I want to be available for Carnation Cafe dinner with the group. Somehow 10-4 is appealing, because that would give us the opportunity to hit some good rides in the morning for those of us that want to, get a good breakfast etc, before starting off on the tour. We may not have that much choice though.

I totally understand. My dog is nearly a year and she eats anything and everything off the floor and barks at me constantly. I really need to learn more patience because she gets me so easily frustrated.

They didn't have it?! That's outrageous! Every Disney store should have received their shipment to put them on the sales floor today. I should know, I work for Disney Store! I picked up mine today.

Bolt looks so cute, I can't wait to see it!

I know. Totally outrageous. :furious: I was thinking that maybe a night in the Dream Suite would ease my pain. Think you could make that happen??

Actually the gals working were so darn relieved that I wasn't mad and not yelling at them, that I felt like I spread a little pixie dust. Can you imagine yelling about a thing like that!

Hi ladies! :) I hope you are all having a good day so far.

From what I understand that's pretty much the way it works. You should have a game plan of what you want to do and see, and they will run and get FPs, get special seating, etc. to make it work for you.

As for meals, that I don't know. When I sent out the PMs, the price I quoted was for the minimum which is the 6 hours. If ya'll decide to do more though that's fine as long as it's a group agreement.

I agree that this trip might be your only chance for the simple fact that if you went with your family, you'd be paying the entire $750 yourself. That probably isn't feasible for most people right now. Lord knows I sure couldn't afford it!!!

If you want your name back on the waitlist, let me know. :thumbsup2

I'm still waiting to hear from momrek06/Kar, Fairycat/Heather, and bsbllmom/Cheryl.

My day started 5 hours ago, and already I feel like I can write my own version of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. It's gotten to the point where I decided I just don't want to go to Disneyland in January. :sad2:

Yeah, put me back on the waiting list. It sounds like fun, and I really want to see the shows, and would enjoy the special seating and such. I didn't really understand what it was when I took my name off the list.

There's no need for such crazy talk around here. :upsidedow

Ok...What is the VIP tour? Did I miss something?

Ok...put me on the wait list please. Thanks

Hi

My day started 5 hours ago, and already I feel like I can write my own version of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. It's gotten to the point where I decided I just don't want to go to Disneyland in January. :sad2:

Why?! What could make you say that?!

The VIP Tour is one of the tours listed on the front page. It's $125 an hour, with a six hour minimum. So it's at least $750. But you can have up to 10 in each tour group, so by taking the tour on this trip, all you'd have to pay is $75. Obviously the way to go. LOL

Here is more info on it:

I think the word tour is sort of misleading. It's more like you own personal guide or concierge to help you get the most out of your day. I'll add you to the wait list.

Question about Friday - with both the VIP tour and the Blue Bayou lunch, are these "compatible" on the same day? Or would the tour then start after lunch? Some of the ladies on the tour have also signed up for the BB lunch, so just checking....

Well, unless they want to eat while on the tour, I think it's going to have to be one or the other.

There has been talk of the tour being from 10-4 and the BB lunch will be early, but not that early. LOL Whatever time it opens for lunch, is when I am planning to make the PS for. As early as possible, but most likely it will still conflict with the tour.

Sorry! And we can't bump back the tour because then it will cut into the Carnation Cafe time, which can't be bumped back because it will cut into the DVC tour.
There simply isn't time to "do it all". LOL I wish there was, but some choices will probably have to be made.

I thought I would make a quick pop in to voice my opinion as I am eating my delicious micromeal lunch and scanning the boards to see what's new.

As someone signed up for the VIP tour, 10-4 sounds great to me, especially if we could catch breakfast beforehand. I do NOT want to spend part of the VIP time at BB for lunch and would prefer to snack along the way if people get hungry.

The fact that I can't do it all is exactly why I took my name off the wait list to begin with. It's a tough decision because I really want to check BB out. I am going to have some incredible dining experiences on this trip though, so I won't mourn the loss of BB too badly if I get to go on the tour. ;)

I am going to wait and see if I'm going on the VIP tour though before I take my name off the BB list.

I completely agree! I need an excuse to get a corn dog and not a 'real meal' anyway! ;) popcorn::

I also like the idea of starting a little late (10-4). That Friday morning will be my first time ever in the park. (Unless we go after the pizza party or before.) I like the idea of having a little time to explore by myself before the tour.

How does special seating for Fantasmic and the fireworks happen if your tour ends at 4pm though?

Your name is on a VIP list, so when you go to the area for special seating the CM will just let you in. :thumbsup2

As for the corn dog......Mmmmmm! I've never eaten at BB, but I've seen the menu and it does not thrill me at all. I'd much rather have a corn dog. :rotfl: I'm only eating there because I want to be able to say I have. Maybe I can sneak in a corn dog inside my purse. :rolleyes1
