Hey Dawn!

I made something like this a few weeks ago for my Sunday school class. Everybody ranted and raved about them!! Yummy!

I just caught up with everyone now.

All the snow pictures were so neat! Everyone be careful out there in it. Heather, too bad you can't ice-skate on your pool!

My favorite sides for holiday dinners are make ahead mashed potatoes, and creamed onions. The mashed potatoes have cream cheese and sour cream in them for starters. Yum! I also love anything creamed................geesh who wouldn't? So pick your favorite veggie, make a cream sauce and pour over, or mix in and bake until bubbly like Tracey earlier. :cloud9: I also love baby carrots with a little orange juice, orange rind and brown sugar.

I love everyone's Christmas trees. Mine still isn't done! :sad2:

Callie, Love the recipe, :rotfl2: but i think I will forgo it this year.

OK now I've forgotten some stuff. Oh well..

Morning everyone. Love the tree steph. Very cute!! Well today is the LAST day of school until break! I wish I could say I could sleep in but Monday I have an early doc apt and then I have to work and then Lynn will probably have to work the rest of the week so chances are no sleeping in for me. I will probably have to get up and take her to work everyday. BLEH! At least they are closed on Christmas! Anyway today is our office party so I have to go in and work for the first few hours and then it is fun fun! :)

Then tonight I get to watch my ghost whisperer. I don't know if any of you watch it but I am SO dissapointed about what they have done with the show. They killed off the main characters husband and since she sees ghosts they DID bring him back as a ghost but still a LOT of people are not happy about it and I hope it doesn't kill the show. I am really not happy with what the networks have been doing with the shows. I don't watch a TON of tv. For awhile there there was only a few shows that we even watched. We do like a few of the reality shows. We have watched survivor, amazing race and Big brother since day one and like those shows but those are the only reality shows pretty much that we watch. We JUST started getting into American Idol and last season I think was the first one that we watched from beginning to end. I do like that one and also we have now started watching dancing with the stars. But I don't really watch ANY tv at all during the day and as I said for awhile there there was about 1 or 2 shows that we would watch at night and that was about it. It was friends and charmed and that was all.

But now we have a few more that we have gotten hooked on like CSI and Ghost Whisperer now that Friends and Charmed are off the air and I have to say now that Grissom is going off the show I don't know if I can even watch CSI anymore. But anyway that's pretty much it for me. Dh is probably going to work his side job all weekend again depending on the rain which means I will be taxi service for step daughter to work and that's bout it.

Monday is cookie baking day at mom's with the girls and then it is going to really start revving up toward Christmas.

Anyway I am off to take Lynn to school.

See you gals later this afternoon! :)

I(Beth and January I know from the original trip to Disneyworld and they are a blast!)

Happy Holidays to all of you and I look forward to possibly getting back on here more often in the new year!
Awww, shucks. :flower3: I hope we get to see more of you too! We miss you around here.

I am throwing a fondu party at my house with lots of kids and my friends from high school!
Oooooh, now that sounds fun AND yummy.

Here are some pictures of us decorating our tree last night and of the finished tree.
Very cute Steph! :santa: Is the gate for a dog? Or the kids? lol
In MI we had a cat, and that darn thing would climb my tree every chance it got. I'd find him sitting on the branches half way up the tree!!

i've got your cold. my husband brought me a box of the Vicks kleenex.. and when i opened it ..the scent was so ssssssssssssstronG.. i was like... SiMMaH doWn! Man, it can take your breath away!
Ugh, I'm sorry you are sick. Hope you feel better soon!

The mashed potatoes have cream cheese and sour cream in them for starters. Yum!
That sounds very similar to how I make them. I use those ingredients too and they are so good. Although I'm sure they are so bad for my waistline. LOL

That sounds fun. I love baking during the holidays. I just made more sugar cookies last night for Lindsey's class party today.

Well, I hope you all have a better day then I think mine will be. I woke up with a toothache. Two of them to be exact. Top and bottom, back right side. They've been bothering me off and on for awhile now but I've managed to ignore it because I dread going to the dentist. But I think I've put it off as long as I can. The pain is more steady now so I guess I'd better call and see when I can get in.

Ugh, I hate this so much!! Last time I was at the dentist's office it was only for a cleaning and I almost had a panic attack in the waiting room. I wasn't even in the dentist's chair yet! :sad2:

Not only do I dread the pain, I dread the bill.

Anyway, I guess I don't have a choice. Hopefully I can get in soon and get it over with!! :(

Have a good day everyone. TGIF!!

All by memory, so I know I will forget some stuff. First of all, our darn cable is out, which means the high speed internet is also out. Thank goodness my cell phone can function as a modem and I can still get on. I hope this darn snow melts somehow!

Steph: Darling tree and kiddos too. I have to laugh when I see your gate. I had one of those for years. I used it with my now 12 year old, when we were at my cousins cabin on the river. I was paranoid that he would get to the river and fall in. So I put a blanket down and set him in it. Everyone would put their chairs around it and feed him and play with him, and he was safe and sound, and happy as a lark. I also used it for our Christmas tree for years, and for the puppy. Basically it was one of the most useful baby tools I ever owned.

Beth: I sure do hope that your tooth repair is something simple. Remember, drugs are your friend, and will get you past anything the dentist can do to you. I can't believe you can send in home made goodies to school. We have not been able to for years!

Sarah: Honestly, with a six month old and a 3 year old, I am surprised you are on at all. Those are two very demanding ages. Congratulations on the potty training. That is always such a huge step forward! A Fondu party! That sounds great.

Dawn: Feel better soon! I love the smell of vicks.

For New Years, we often just have friends over and play cards. Last year we played the guys against the gals, and the gals won. I think one friends hubby is still holding a grudge. We are not that great at making it to midnight though.

Well, yet again, another school day cancelled, so our winter break is now 3 weeks long. I sure hope cable comes back soon! I'm glad you'll enjoyed my slideshow and video. I bought myself a new "pocket" camera on black friday ($89 for 10 megapixel canon) and this was my first day of using it. I had so much fun!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Morning ladies..

Beth~ I hear ya about the dentist :scared: I have a panic attack just taking my kids. I hope you feel better. (oh I hate the bill also!! DS12 is getting braces...I really don't want that bill!!)

Sarah~ A fondu party sounds like fun! I have never had fondu but it looks fun.

Tracey~ I loved the video. The snow seems to have passed Moses Lake. It snowed about a 1/2 in. last night. Thats about it.

I hope the pass is open on Sunday. I really want to go to the football game.
Not that the Seahawks will win:rolleyes1 ...But i love me some LOFA!!

Beth and Fairykin: I hope you both fell better FAST! (and Beth, that the dentist's bill is not too outrageous!)

Steph - Cute tree. I love that you guys decorate it together. I usually do all the tree decorating around here.

Happy Friday everyone!!

We will be celebrating December birthdays at work tonight. I am bringing a cake from the local bakery and we will be ordering out BBQ. MMMMMM! Can't wait. Hopefully it will be a slow night so we can enjoy ourselves.

Here are some pictures of us decorating our tree last night and of the finished tree.

Yay it's Friday!!!!!! Hope you all have a great day!

Christmas2008032-1.jpg

Your poor tree! In jail like that! :scared: What'd it do wrong?

Still haven't pulled out any of my glass ornaments in fear that my little one will break them. He's old enough not to pull down the tree anymore, but the ornaments from the lower branches are all piled on the floor.

Merry Christmas!

It's the last day of work before the holiday and I am trying hard to stay (or at least look) busy!

I'm so sorry to hear about your dental problems Beth! I hope that they can solve your issues quickly and relatively painlessly.

We leave in just over 26 hours--not that I'm counting. So, I'll probably check in later tonight, and then will be gone for about a week! I will definitely have at least a mini trip report and some pictures to post. Wish me luck, as it's our last shot at the Dream Suite!

I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat but of course it's only on one side, the same side it was on last time!

UGH not again!

:sad2:

Beth that stinks that you have a bad tooth. I know how much that hurts. I hope it isn't too bad!

It's still freakishly cold over here but I'm nearly done with my house work (only 1 load of laundry left!) because I stayed up until 2am being the little cleaning elf (similar to cobbler elves but way cooler :cool1: ). I could tell my mom felt bad last night because all of our hard work towards cleaning the house and it still ended up in shambles. So I recleaned the kitchen (loaded & started the dishwasher, cleared & cleaned the counters, put away the groceries, etc) then moved onto the dining room, living room, the den, and ended with putting clothes in the dryer. I felt much better! But of course it was way late and I was pooped :lmao: but my mom was very surprised and happy when she woke up this morning :lovestruc

This morning I got up around 10am (oops overslept), cleaned my room, got dressed and folded one load of laundry then made myself breakfast.

And now I have my exercise out of the way!:woohoo:

Ok, off to shower and have a gift-wrapping partayyyy:dance3:

Oh Cristabel, I need a cleaning elf. Come and visit. You can even bring Osita and we won't care if she barks! PS Did anyone else notice that Osita looks like the dog in the Jim Carey version of "The Grinch"?

Cheryl... They are super easy.. i don't know why that recipe has all those words:rotfl: ..they only have 3 ingredients.. and all you do is grate the cheese then mix them all together, roll in little balls then bake. Easy and good. I made some for my mom and dad. I'm going to make some for the next time we go to disneyland then freeze then the night before so they will travel well.. they will be great snackey bits for in the morning.

Beth... ouch... toothaches hurt all over.. your head, your ear, your sinuses and your wallet:sick: ...i'm sorry it happened right at christmas

Miss Melody!... Whatcha doin this weekend? :cutie: You stay so busy! Can You believe it's almost Christmas? Wow... what a nice relaxed season it's been. For sure next year i'm going to buy everything and wrap it all by october again.. it made for this season being peaceful.:santa: Shame it only took me 25 years to figure out to do this.:rotfl2:

WendyLouWho....You are the Best Monkey Princess!!!!!!! :worship: Thank You for All You Do to Help Me. I'm most appreciative to have You for my friend. :cheer2:

Tracey.. Your camera sounds niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.. and You are already putting it to good use with the videos:thumbsup2

If I could I so would! But sadly, Osita is a chicken when it comes to cold weather. It's about 50 degrees and sunny over here and she will only go out to relieve herself. When she's done she comes right back to the kitchen door and whines. She is usually standing right next to the fireplace (we have a guard to block the open flame). My mom didn't believe that dogs get cold...I told her!

So we're going to buy her a nice warm sweater from Petco. She'll be needing it 'cause we don't have central A/C or heater. The A/C is completely shot and the heater only goes to the bedrooms (where she's not allowed). So she rarely leaves the living room, where the fireplace is:laughing:

Right now she is sleeping on her big bed...the one she wouldn't use during summer 'cause it got too hot.

We spend Christmas Eve/ Christmas day at my grandma's house in Lancaster...now that's FREEZING. So she'll be bundled up hahaha

LOL--when I lived in Utah my parents' dog (a chocolate lab) used to LOVE the snow--he would go out and root through it and come in with a white snow covered nose! It was really funny.

My cats on the other hand--not such big fans. They of course always wanted to go outside--my vet said--wait till a big snowstorm and then let them out--that will cure them of that desire! LOL--he was right!

My current cats are pretty smart. I have my water pipes running through the concrete floors. They are pretty savvy and know where the hot water pipes are and that's where they sleep~! Unless I'm in bed with the electric blankie on then they're right there or they are in the window on a pillow with the sun baking in on them. (Yes, they are spoiled kitties.)

Over on the DVC boards there's a new thread starting by SSR Monkey--a trip report of a wonderful monkey who goes to WDW. He/she is pretty funny--the last TR was a hoot! Thought some of you might be interested.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=29237277&posted=1#post29237277

That's cute! I have a stuffed moose (yep, moose, not monkey) that I take with me on trips sometimes and take pictures of him in various places. I know I have pictures of him in New York, various places around Washington D.C. and, of course, Disneyland.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Cheryl- that's too funny about your cats. My dog is pretty smart because she knows where the water is....in the tree holder! YUP, we brought the tree in, filled the holder/planter with water and now she treats that as her VIP water bowl with a hint of pine taste :lmao: So now we have no choice but to let our tree die a natural death (can't put those lasting chemicals they give you at the tree lots)

Has anyone gotten their Christmas card from me?
