Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

I know this is probably so stupid, but I'm having a serious panic attack because I have to go to the store and I am scared to death. I can't grip this whole stupid flu thing. I am a wreck. Then I find out today that a kid from Ayden's class is being tested for it, he has been out sick since last week. And I'm supposed to feel ok about sending my kid to class tomorrow?

I know you do not know me, and I am not really sure what to say but I wanted to acknowledge your post. Panick attacks are the worse and I want you to know that someone has read what you are experiencing and is lending a hand. I can understand your concerns and they are valid. However I think you will be safe going to the store, it is not that bad in the U.S yet and as long as you wash your hands right after, don't touch your face, eyes etc (you know all of the things your mom told you as a kid) you should be okay. I would not panick too much. I can see your concern about your son though. Maybe take him out for a few days until that kid is better or at least not there? I do not know, just a suggestion. I really just wanted to acknowledge your post so you can know someone out there understands and is there with you - smile.

Hi Caitlyn--my name is Cheryl.

Beth is the keeper of the list and will be along soon I imagine. We are really in preliminary planning stages--so there's nothing to sign up for just yet. Stay tuned to the thread as things develop and welcome!

And just curious--what part of LA do you live in?

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you so much. I will stay tuned. I am new at this and have never done anything like this before, so my apologies if I sound over eager. I just was not sure how it worked. Thank you for your help and I will wait for further instructions so to speak.

Have a great day!

Hi Caitlyn & welcome!!! I'm new to the group as well, but it only takes a few posts & you feel like one of the girls!!!!!

Hang in there Janelle......that flu is scary & you have every right to wonder what's best to do in these situations.

I still love the tie-dyed Mickey shirts!!!! I want to get some for sure!

Ok, so got a problem & need some advice........ what to do with a kid that lies about everything (even things that aren't a big deal........) He just turned 8 & his bio-mom was a huge liar as well. He really didn't spend a ton of time with her, but I also know that it shouldn't be hereditary....but I'm starting to wonder. I've even got a call from his teacher because he lied right to her face about something.......
I'm frustrated & don't know how to get him to stop. We've told him many, many times that he will be in more trouble for lying then he would have been for telling the truth.....but no changes.
It's always very obvious when he lies too.....he's really bad. Usually any kind of a pause or if he starts the sentence with ummmmmm
I've even been frustrated to the point of telling him that his mom lied all the time & that's why she ended up in jail. Probably something I shouldn't have said, but I got to the end of my rope.......
Any & all advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Oh Caitlyn--I didn't think you were overeager, just trying to reassure you that you weren't missing out on anything at this point--just stay tuned! I joined the first ladies trip just a couple of months before so there is plenty of time and the good thing is by joining now you get to participate in the planning!

Hi Caitlyn! Don't worry about it, everyone was new to the group at some point. I went with the original group to DisneyWorld back in 2006 but missed the first one to Disneyland in 2008. I had a great time meeting all the Disneyland people this year and seeing 2 I had met on the Disneyworld trip! All I can say is it is a fantastic group of people! Beth is our leader and without her we would be lost! She keeps track of everything from who's rooming with who, to who is in charge of what activity! Last trip in March we did a couple of meals, some tours, etc and everyone just picked what they wanted to do and signed up for that. It worked great! I know it can be intimidating but don't worry! My name is Sarah, btw! WELCOME!!!!

Good afternoon everyone! :goodvibes

I hope everyone has been having a great week so far. I see that some of you are dealing with family issues. I hope everything gets resolved for you. :wizard:

Welcome to the group Caitlyn.

I'm so ready for a nap.

I'm ready for a nap too--are any of the MouseAdventure girls feeling totally exhausted like I am?

hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.........i'm just doing some searches.

i have such a bad headache.

Hi Caitlyn! I'm Heather, if you look on the fron page of the thread, you will see all the info (that we have as of now!) for the trip. I hope you can join us!

Yes, she does :yay: She has sizes from toddler to 4X (and I know she has V-necks the same sizes :thumbsup2 - I asked this too)

Thanks Caitlyn, and welcome to the group :)

:cool1: I love this shirt also. I think I am going to order me one also! :thumbsup2

Welcome Caitlyn! This is a great group of fun ladies!:welcome:

Heather - I know how frustrating autism can be. If you need to vent or whatever I am here for you. :thumbsup2 I completely understand what you are going through. You know where to find me!;)

Hi everyone, I'm in a discouraged mood today. Some days are just harder than others.
:grouphug:

So you know that photo of myself in the garden at night that I posted last night... the critique didn't go over so well for that today for some reason. People in this class just don't get it for some reason.
Well, screw them. We all loved it. ;)
Seriously, I'm sorry about that. Don't let it get you down. It was really lovely.

Janelle, if you are that worried, then keep him home for a bit. I'm sure he won't miss much. But as for the store, it will be fine. Buy some of those wipes and use those for the cart and to clean your hands afterward if it makes you feel better.

Hello all!

My name is Caitlyn. I am new to this Disneyland thread and board. I have checked out Micechat from time to time and recently found this place. You girls seem like loads of fun, you all seem so sweet. I live in California and LOVE Disney land. I recently got an annual pass and am stuper stoked about it. I found this thread about Girls only trip to Disneyland in 2010. I was wondering when it is and can I join? How does it work since I am new and do not know any of you.

Nice to meet all of you :flower3:

Take care everyone!
Hello Caitlyn!! Wow, not only new to the thread but brand spanking new to the DIS! That deserves a double welcome. ;)
:welcome:
Welcome.jpg

We just had our second annual trip last month so other than the dates for the 2010 trip, not much planning is taking place yet. There are pics on the front page of all the Divas, new and returning, so if you'd like post a pic and I'll happily add you to the group.
Also you can check out the trip pics and there are some trip reports on the Disneyland trip report board you can check out.

Serious planning probably won't start until it gets a little closer but you can look forward to all sorts of fun including a opening night Meet and Greet party, group meals, tours and lots of fun! Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. :goodvibes

Hmmmm, I don't know Laurie. I never really had to deal with that. I do wish you luck though. That's tough.

Yep, scary stuff indeed. I heard on the news about the first in the U.S. to die of it. A 23 month old. So sad.

Good luck cooking! I'm sure you're making something yummy that I could never make. :rotfl:

:rotfl2:

Uh oh. Take care!

Hey Sarah. I was wondering if this swine flu stuff has you thinking of changing your cruise plans?
I hope not. That would really suck. Hopefully they are taking extra precautions and you can have a blast without worrying about it. :wizard:

STATEMENT REGARDING SWINE INFLUENZA

Miami - April 29th 5:00 PM

We have decided to cancel all calls at Mexican ports for all current sailings and all voyages departing on Thursday, April 30th through Monday, May 4th. In many cases, we will be able to substitute the cancelled call with an alternative port. Additionally, we are working on alternatives for those itineraries impacted by this decision. Please check back periodically for the latest information. In the unlikely event that our new itinerary options are not to your liking, we will also give you the opportunity to reschedule your cruise at a later date. Those details will also be made available tomorrow.

Our primary concern is your safety. We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated if and when changes are made.

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you aboard your "Fun Ship" cruise.

This is what Carnival has said so far. We leave on the 14th (hopefully) so no word on our's yet...we'll see. :confused3

Thanx anyway Beth......this is new to us as well......never seen a kid that does it so freely....I think he believes what he's says at times.....strange!

Wow, I guess they figure better safe than sorry. I hope things still work out for you to go, if not in May, then soon.

Hi Cheryl,

Nice to meet you, thank you so much. I live close to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Where do you live?

Have a great day!

Hmmm, maybe he does. :confused3
Do they have therapists you can ask for help? I mean, when my twins were little, they were in OT and Speech therapy, and I was actually able to talk with the therapists about other issues as well. I don't know. Might be worth a shot. In any case, good luck. Too bad kids don't come with instructions. Or an off button at the very least. ;)
