I cancelled the dermatologist appointment I had for Ayden today. I just really don't want to get near the Dr. office at all. Chris and I kinda had a little spat this morning when talking about this whole swine flu outbreak. He's just blowing it off and looking at it like it's any other flu. He keeps bringing up the past flu epedimics and saying how everyone freaked about those and now here we are all worrying again. It worries me becuase here I'm trying to really be aware and pro active about this and he thinks I'm nuts. He thinks people are going overboard with the antibacterial and the handwashing. Worries me that he'd bring something home to Ayden and I whose immune systems are already very low.
I'm sorry to hear it's made it's way to some of you. I have to go back to work tomorrow no matter what. It will be the first time I have left my house since Sunday.

Call me crazy but I am just scared.
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear y'all were arguing over it. That's not good.
I wouldn't be scared about it to the point where it alters your daily life. I mean, no one wants to live in fear of this or anything. kwim? Forget the flu, there's any number of things in our daily lives that could cause us harm or even death if you think about it! (so let's not think about it, lol)
But you do your best, be pro-active as you said, and carry on. But don't let it scare you too much.
As for the hand washing, I'm sorry, but that is just a good habit to have no matter what. In this family, the kids always wash hands before eating, after coming home from school, and after we've been out in public shopping or whatever.
I mean, think of those nasty grocery store carts. Someone can go to the bathroom, NOT wash their hands, use a cart and then you use it next. If you use the cart and then say you grab a cookie or something to eat, you've just transferred those germs to your mouth. Ick.
Will you get sick? Maybe, maybe not. But I say why take that chance. In my family even just a common cold can wreck havoc because it will start with one kid and work it's way through all six of us.
So while I'm not a germaphobe, I do take hand washing seriously. I also won't sit on the comforters in hotel rooms. Other than that, I don't worry too much.
I just got off the phone with Disney booking our stay in Oct. I went ahead and got a room at the Grand for my mom's birthday. That way I can order the cake for the luncheon. Now i'm already thinking of party favors!
Awww, she's going to have such a special day.

Glad to hear your fever is gone.
