Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Ok, so for whoever is keeping track...if I get to go I would deffinitely want a roomie! At HoJO I would want my own bed but don't mind sleeping on a roll a way (so three in the room would be fine). If we stay on property I would only be interested in the Grand as I have never stayed there before and I wouldn't mind sharing a bed in that situation to help with the cost. I really hope I get to go on this trip!...Darn Olympics.

On a different note....I'd like some feedback from people about the Scavenger Hunt....
Personally, I'd like to keep it to one park. Either DCA or DL, but not both. A ride would be fun as long as the lines aren't crazy long.
I thought the length was good. Maybe up it to 3 hours. Anything too short and it's too hectic and not fun. Too long and it gets boring or tedious.
Those are just my thoughts.

I know what you mean! Yikes, they grow up so fast. Andrew, age 12 asked me to take him to a Chinese Rest. for lunch with friends. Well turned out to be a double date set up! His first date at age 12! He split the bill with the other kid and then asked me to pay him back because it was expensive ($23) and he didn't think he could afford it. I declined, but took the time to point out that with his earning power, he probably couldn't afford to both date and play video games.:rotfl:
Oh wow. At 12?? That's Noelle's age. I can't imagine her on a double date. I think it's funny about the money though. lol It's different when they have to start spending their own $$$. ;)

I hope so too.

The roomie thing is out of control right now. :rotfl2: When you start cramming 5 and 6 ladies into a room, my head starts to spin. :upsidedow

But if people know who they are rooming with, and want to post that then I will add it to the front. So far I've seen lots of talk, but no real commitments.

Capri and Beth (and any other potential roomies)

Are we staying at Hojo's again?
I am thinking maybe we should stay closer if possible. When I had my chimi-itis it was one looooong butt cheek shuffle (Capri ) back to the room. I won't go #2 in public. Sorry if that was WAaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much info.

If that happens again next trip, Lord help me.

January, I forgot to say that I'm so sorry Maddie is still sick. I hope she feels better soon. :wizard:

And Vicki, I think many, many pages back it was you that asked if I lived near Red Rock. I am about 5 minutes away from the Red Rock casino and can actually see part of the Red Rock canyon from my house. This is my view from my upper window:

So if you were in that area, you were very close! If it wasn't you who asked, then ignore this completely. :rotfl: ;)

OKay, so far we have....

Room 1
Capri
January
Beth

Room 2
cheshiregirl
bigskyernurse

Next?

Oh, and January I think we decided to stick with HoJo. The conference room worked out well last time so that's a big bonus. But this time I think we all agree on wanting Building One. Nicer, bigger rooms. Or some were talking about the suites.

Then there are some who want to stay onsite.

In any case, no more chimis for you! :rotfl2:

In that case, I might have to steal Cheryl's scooter.:lmao:

When someone says "drawers" I think undies. So that is hillarious.

I knew you were going to go there  (I did too, but don't tell anyone, 'K??)

On a different note....I'd like some feedback from people about the Scavenger Hunt....This isn't anything "official" from the team, just wanting to get a feel for some stuff myself as we're gonna brainstorm this weekend.....
First of all, a number of people mentioned having rides on the scavenger hunt...what ones would people like to see?
Should we keep it just to DL or would you like to see not just DL, but DCA and/or DtD, too?
Should it be about the same length (it was about 2.5 hours), shorter or longer?

Thanks for the feedback!

I think keeping it to one park is good. There is a variety of competitiveness and trivia knowledge among us, so keeping it short (2-3 hours) would be good. Too long and it's too much for some people (and a snap for others!)

I know when we took the girls to Canada while Shane was in Iraq I didn't know you need a letter from the other spouse to take your kids out of the country. I didn't even know THAT.

I always take a notarized letter when I travel with Jesse. I have never been asked to see it, but I have it. Same thing with a letter from his doctor. Never been asked to see it (even though we clearly have syringes and bottles of med), but we have for if and when they do :thumbsup2

So, you're coming then :hyper: And I agree - darn Olympics!! I for one will be very glad to skip town while they are here (DH will be watching TV - and not in Beth's way, either! - for the whole time)

Thanks! and thanks to Capri who posted a really cute graphic. Maddie loved it.

The view from your home is really pretty.

So what is she? Part Beagle, part Dalmation? Now that would be asking for trouble!
And hey, if you ever decide to make the move to Western Washington, we will find you an area you can afford. There are absolutly some of those places still around.

No beagle in her......possibly Dalmation though, and Lab, and/or maybe a bird dog breed.

What's in her drawers? Maybe something YUMMY! :rotfl:

When someone says "drawers" I think undies. So that is hillarious.

Yeah, that was my thought too. You don't want to know what's in my "drawers"

Ok Stacie you and I have the same dirty mind cuz I thought the same thing :rotfl: I started crackin up when she said that!

OMG, I totally didn't think about what I said there before I said it! That is WAY funny! You all are soooooooo in the gutter. :lmao:

If you get to ride rides at DL, it couldn't get boring or tedious. Bring on the rides!

I just want to slow down the pace just a bit. We were running around the park huffing and puffing, and by the time the scavenger hunt was done, I honestly felt spent for the day. It was exhausting. So if I get to sit my big bum down on some rides during the scavenger hunt to not only look for some answers for the hunt, but to get a little breather as well, then I'll be happy. :thumbsup2

But I would probably try to stick with the faster loading rides or rides that usually have shorter lines like Pirates, Haunted Mansion, IASW, Jungle Cruise (sometimes has short lines), Pooh, DL Train, Casey Jr., Snow White, Pinnochio, Mr. Toad, Buzz (usually).

Morning Ladies!

That's a she moose in the pictures. :goodvibes If it was a he, then he would have the big moose antlers. Hmmmmm, I wouldn't say moose are mean spirited unless a momma moose feels her baby is in danger. If that happens, watch out! The momma moose would attack and attempt to kill you by beating your down with her front hoofs. But other than that, they won't pay much attention to you, and if they see a person, usually they'll just go in the opposite direction.

.

Capri, LOVE the wildlife photos! I rode on a long bus ride in Denali in Alaska just to see one of those up close. (that was the best thing we saw, everything else was so far away)

We have coyote where I live, and deer.

When someone says "drawers" I think undies. So that is hillarious.

So did I.

He wants to buy Mario Kart for the Wii so badly. I have been holding out because I don't think I need to run out and buy a $50 game at every whim, but maybe it would be okay, if I pretended it was for him, but it was really so I could play with you girls:thumbsup2
around.

Tracey, great idea. I'm trying to figure out if bowling and tennis can be played online with others... anyone know?
(love the double date) :lmao:

I agree with that. It uses up too much time to get out of one park and cross over and get inside the other. And Beth's time period is good. My suggestion is if you want rides included, they should be limited and easy rides that anyone could do. (she says, the ride wimp) :scared1:

I'm hunting down my lost driver's lic. I think it was accidently kept by a volunteer at a charity sale. At least I hope so.

(Beth, your view is fabulous - what clean air!)

I agree. I was spent after the Scavenger hunt....mostly because I am way out of shape. But getting a break on the rides would be a fun twist to the game.

What?! There is a secret bathroom? Where have I been?

What?! There is a secret bathroom? Where have I been?

Yep, it's a single bathroom with a locking door so you are TOTALLY alone in there. Nice for chimi-itis and other DL tummy issues. ;) :rolleyes1

It's near Rancho de Zocalo and Carnation Gardens stage area. Most the Divas know where it is, so just ask next time. :goodvibes

The butt cheek shuffle! :rotfl2:

I don't know where my hubby comes up with stuff like that....his crazy brain! Yep, same thing happened to me at WDW, and my hubby laughed his head off watching me from the resort bus do the butt cheek shuffle across the grass in front of our building on the way to our room at SSR.
