Good morning everyone! I had a really nice time with Lisa my friend who works for Priceline last night in Hollywood. Both of us being from Denver we felt like ‘country bumpkins’ but we had a great time talking and catching up and of course talking ‘hotel talk’.

So I was just filmed for a CBP recruiting video! Crazy!

Thanks!! I have been wanting to come to DLR for a looong time. (I hope no one takes offense to this) but Disney is like a way of living to me (create magic- pay it forward- follow your dreams).. and being able to go to DLR is like going to the Holy Land! And you guys would all have to bring tissues for me bc I would just be crying my eyes out the whole trip! haha! But in a good way!

Welcome Tinker! This will be my first Girls Only trip with the Divas but I’ve met quite a few of the girls at other mini meets and I can tell you that you will never meet a nicer, sweeter, more gracious group of women! I love them all! Can’t wait to meet you too!

AND we are in the beginning stages of planning a trip to WDW!!!
This would be for November 2010! Still - as some of you know - it takes alot more planning to do a trip to WDW!

Yay! I love WDW planning! We are thinking about taking the kids next summer. I love WDW. I probably will get to sneak a trip in to WDW when my parents make their yearly trip in Feb. to their time share. Last year I crashed their trip for the entire two weeks! Worked from their condo for one week and then spent the second week at WDW. And then Bob had to go work in their Orlando office for a week in March so I tagged along and we snuck off to WDW a couple of times. I just can’t help myself if someone in my family says they are going to Orlando…they know they will have a stow-away!

We really do need to catch up and talk about our little part of Southern Colorado that we have both lived in! Can’t wait to meet you!

Hey ladies, I need some hugs, pixie dust and just some moral support.

My Mom is in tears trying to find papers, bill statements, anything that shows her the last time she paid them. She remember she went in June to pay and the lady told her she can just pay half and that would be fine. The lady told my Mom today she sent us certified letters/bills. Did she have any copies of them? Nope. My Mom went to the post office and they don't have any letters/bills for us.

It's just material stuff. It can be fixed. I'll buy my parents all the washers and dryers in the world. I guess we're lucky all our personal stuff is here in the garage (my pageant dresses, all my grandmother's stuff, old pictures, etc.) and wasn't in that storage unit.

I'm just so MAD that the lady (or anyone working there) didn't make more of an effort to get a hold of us. Like washers and dryers and couches come from trees.

Awe Courtney I am soooo sorry to hear this happened to your family! When I was reading your heartbreaking story and (you are right it is only material stuff but it was your families stuff and it still holds value to you all, not fair of them at all) I was thinking…oh Cheryl any advice for them and then I read her comments. I hope you can get some recourse! I also just want to get in my car and drive to Camarillo and take you to lunch but then my office phone rang and I thought ‘oh yes, I have to work to pay my bills’! If I had some extra hours at lunch I would be there in a flash.

Hello everyone . I know I've missed tons lately, but I'm starting to get a little more control of my life and was able to skim back a little.

I was without a car for 4 days (which seemed like forever). My car got totaled while parked at my sisters house (someone side swiped it at full speed). Since I don't have a job I couldn't get financed for a new car (banks won't touch you with no job). I had to find a car I could pay cash for. So I went from having a car that was less than 2 years old to a used Toyota Camry with with over 150,000. The good thing is I had GAP insurance on the other car so I don't owe anything & I no longer have a car payment. The bad thing is, I'm so afraid the car will break at any minute. It runs fine, but I'm still nervous. But Toyota's are usually reliable.

Besides that I've had a lot of family stress so I'm just trying to stay sane .

Oh, the baby got her first tooth last week. She has one tooth on the top front so I call her snaggle-tooth .

Katie – I am sorry you are having to go through all of this and it really stinks about your car! I hope your ‘new’ car will hold together for you! Yes, we must see pictures of Miss Snaggle Tooth!

Does anyone want to add a trip to the Animation Bldg after drinks at the Cove Bar? A few of us went last year and had a great time.

Maybe after a couple of cocktails I would be able to draw better…something has to help!

PS I didn't mean to imply my DD is anything but an angel. I love her to pieces, but anyone that knows us really does know she is spoiled to death. Derservingly so.

I have one of those too! She is spoiled but there is a big difference between being spoiled and Appreciative and being a brat who expects everything to be given to them. It’s so hard not to spoil an only child…they are your ONLY one and your ONLY chance to be a parent. All of your attention is theirs and the money you would have to spend on siblings is there for them alone.

Hi friends! I am just now home from my sedond 14 hour workday in a row and I have two more to get through before the week is over. But, catching up on the thread, I have been reminded to count my blessings as so many of you are going through much bigger trials and tribulations than I am as I survive the first week of having my students back on campus. I think working on a college campus would be fun…all of that young energy floating around!

Good morning girls. Again, thank you for all the kind words and hugs. My Mom called the storage place this morning at 6:30 and left message and is going to call again at 9:00. She’s requesting they fax over a copy of the contract she signed, a payment history printout, and a copy of the letters they sent us (thanks Cheryl!). She’s also going back to the post office (she went yesterday) and is going to see again if any certified letters were left for us. When she went yesterday she talked to the man and he said if the certified letters were sent correctly, the PO would have a record of when they were sent and if they were delivered. My Dad had called the storage place yesterday and requested the tracking numbers for the certified letters they allegedly sent us and my Mom tracked them online and there is no record of those numbers. I’ll keep you girls posted today after my Mom calls the storage at 9.

I’m glad you’re parents are getting right on this even though they don’t feel like dealing with it…the longer they wait the easier it’ll be for the storage company to cover their tracks or make tracks.

As the time gets closer, we may have two options for most meals. It's really difficult to try and schedule over 30 ladies at one meal, but 10-12 is easy-peasy.

I thought the Storyteller breakfast last year was a huge success, but we did have 4 tables of 8 or something like that, didn't we?

Good Morning all! The kids are back to school so my house is so peaceful right now .

I will try to post a picture of the baby's tooth a little later. None of the pictures have really turned out, but since I have some peace in the house, I'm going to take some pictures of her today.

I also love the idea of doing Animation Academy after the Cove Bar. Count me in on this .

Thanks everyone for your thoughtfulness of my situation. All I can say is I'm SOOOO HAPPY I purchased the GAP insurance when I got the car. Otherwise I would have owed almost $9,000 still on the car (the difference between what insurance paid & what I still owed). Since I don't have a car payment anymore, I can at least save what I was paying before.


Courtney- I don't know how I missed this yesterday, but that is just awful. How can people be so MEAN & inconsiderate . Your parents should definitely pursue the issue since they never received any warnings.

My Doc told me the wear and tear on my cartilage is already pretty bad and I need to lose 40 lbs. Encouraging, don't you think??

What?? Holy crap, if they are telling you to lose 40 lbs I can only imagine what they'd tell me to lose! My poor knees must be really suffering. Take care, and don't over do it.

I will, same as I did last year and the year before. There will be sign ups for meals and tours on the front page listed like they were before.

Wonderful idea, Dawn. Thank you for thinking of a sign up sheet. I am a bit confused and a little intimidated by all the goings on and not sure how to join in...wouldn't want to be wandering around DL alone.

Don't worry, you won't be alone! Don't be intimidated. It's all there on the front page. Any changes are always updated in the schedule so even if you miss a few days of the thread, you can always check the first page for updates, info and links.

I will have a sign up list for each and every meal as well as the tours, but not just yet. We still have almost 6 months to go, and I've found from previous experience if you start the sign ups too soon, it just gets too confusing. People make changes, and things get moved around, etc.

For now, just be looking at the schedule, and keeping in mind the things you want to do, then once the sign ups start you can post which meals, tours, and events you'd like to be added to.

My DH stored his 66 corvette (don't be picturing some beauty....this one needs WORK!) for a bit and was told by the manager...one day late, the car is MINE!!! She wasn't kidding. He was never late.

Thanks for reminding me about dear Art the greeter. Such a sweetheart. Theresa, if you go, Art stands in the lobby during the day and greets people in his spiffy white uniform. Bring a tiny tiny gift card you can use as a tip there as technically they are not supposed to accept money and have a nice photo taken with him. He's a treasure, been there a long time.

If a balcony is important, not all rooms have a full balcony and if view is important (it is to us), some std rooms have a view of a graveled rooftop - glaringly awful. A request for a volley ball court view will take care of that - it is a std view, a very close walk to International Gateway...great room location. Best location we had at BC. Of course, if you book a water view , then it will be lovely (still could have a step out balcony though). A full balcony can also be a request.

Yes, you reminded me of the whole view concern I had with BC before I arrived. I thought I could get a balcony view of the fireworks, but not really. We had a tiny step out balcony, no sitting room, but with a water view (we booked it), so there was a wonderful view of the lagoon and the boardwalk. But it was easier to walk downstairs to see the fireworks. We also had a room that was in a hallway where there were no rooms across from us - that made it nice and quiet (our request).

I think Jesse will love the pool there.

Kelly, I hope you are feeling better today. The one and only time we went to WDW, my future SIL had Ecoli. He left with us feeling pretty bad, but thought it was just stomach flu. The first morning there, his temp rose to 105! He spent his first few days at the hospital in Celebration. Poor thing..............he was miserable.

Oohh i am looking forward to doing Animation studio for the first time on this trip... there is so much i haven't ever done. I guess that's why i'm never in a rush to do everything..i like having new things to discover.

Heather and I did the animation studio for the first time. In addition to the drawing part, and that is lovely, the studio has nice seats and a wonderful stage, he also showed us a sneak peak at the new animated feature The Princess and the Frog - it looked fantastic! I'm sure this trailer will be shown at D23 as well.

I am actually in charge of 31 (soon to be 33 as we add new chapters this spring) fraternities and sororities on a college campus. So, I teach, but not in a classroom. I work year round, but my summer hours are VERY different than the academic year. During the school year I have to attend evening meetings every Monday and Wednesday night that keep me on campus late, but usually I leave around 4 on Tuesdays and 4:30 on Thursdays. But, because it is the first week of school we have big welcome to campus type events every night this week. Most of the time it doesn't bother me to work late, but this week I'm running on fumes and it's only early afternoon on Wed!

However, Vicki is totally right, there is a ton of energy and enthusiasm and my work environment tends to be pretty fun! For instance, we just held the draft for our office fantasy football league over lunch today and most days include Starbucks runs (thanks again to all who contributed to my birthday gift card--there is pure caffeine running through my veins these days) and other fun types of breaks.

I've mentioned before that my parents have been having some financial troubles lately mainly because both of their incomes got cut at their jobs. Well last year we moved from a 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment. The mortgage was getting too much (this was before my parent's pay cut) and the house was too big (always has been, we've been there since I was 2) for just the 3 of us. Since we were downgrading, my parents rented a storage unit. Well, my Mom goes to the storage to pay her bill and what does the lady tell her? "Sorry, we auctioned off all your stuff last week." Did we get a phone call? A letter that our payment was late? Anything? NOPE. A brand new HE washer and dryer. Gone. My grandparent's couches. Gone. My parent's dressers. Gone.

I read this last night but was unable to comment via my phone. I'm SO sorry this happened. It sounds UBER fishy and you should definitely DEMAND the copies of the "official papers" they sent your parents. If they don't have any, I would definitely take them to court. It's likely they have done this to many other people

I'm sorry about your car trouble! My roomie, a freshman, went to visit her friend close to school this past weekend. Some lady was making a left turn into the apartment complex and drove into my roomie's car at 35mph! Luckily she wasn't in the car and someone went to up to get her from her friend's apt. The lady had a bottle of brandy in the car

I saw that too earlier even before I saw Cheryl's post. lol I looked at them, but some of them are for dinner dine in only and they require you to spend a certain amount, as much as $50 not including tax, tip or alcohol. I'm not sure if I used them for just me and Ruben that we could eat that much. lol But it is a great deal, thanks Cheryl for posting it here.

And anyone who doesn't receive the Travelzoo emails, really should. I love them!! Getting the weekly Top 20 specials is like Christmas, you never know what's in there.

Okay, looked it up...so it's that book! We had them when I was After School Director back in Cambridge - teachers could buy one for $15.00, but I never bought one because we'd never use the coupons.

This one is $35.00!! OMGosh! Beth suggested waiting in case I find a roomie who has one already - sounds like a really good idea now.

For Storyteller I went through the manager there (I think his name was Jeff) and he was able to set it up to give us our own area.

I must do the ANimation building, for reals.

My knee still sucks...but worked today. See the doctor Friday, need to be able to bend it 90 degrees (which I can) and straighten it by then (not even close).

Ayden started kindergarten today. FINALLY a first day of school that didn't involve TEARS and him having to be peeled away from me. He was so excited. As he lined up he just turned to me and waved bye. Oh here came the tears. I was so proud of him. He had such a good day!
