Mel continued prayers for your daughter and daughter in law!! Keep us posted! I hope they are better very soon!

Deb hope your guys are better soon as well. Gotta get better for our big trip right! :)
Good luck on your micro test! BLEH! Doesn't sound fun!

Angie glad you had fun at Wicked. I really want to see that show!! I have done that Seattle undergound as well. Lots of fun! I used to live in Washington state and I really enjoy that area and love exploring Seattle! It's a fun city!

Thanks to all who have wished me well with all my ins/new doc woa's. I went and picked up my meds yesterday and nearly fell over because one of the scrips that cost me 20 bucks on Pacificare now cost me 50!!! My max copay used to be 40 and the ONLY drug I had to pay that for was my Topomax which is one of my migraine meds. I NEVER had to pay the max copay for my Elmiron which is the stuff for my bladder and now this. Now I am wondering what ELSE I am going to have to pay more for. It was ALREADY costing me a mint for just the stuff I was paying for before but now if THIS one is 50 and I KNOW my Topomax is going to be 50 that is 100 just for those 2 plus I take 3 others! UGH! I don't have my cards yet so I don't know what plan we are on and of COURSE it is the weekend and the ins company is closed so I couldn't call to find out. We were supposed to have CHEAPER copays not more expensive and then on my BC pills I had 2 scrips in there. One that had 1 refill left and 1 that had 6 months. Well they filled the one that had 1 refill left! SOOOO after ALL that I only got 1 stupid refill so now when this is up I am going to have to fight the war all over again to get more next month! SHEESH! This stuff just stresses me out to the max. I just wish none of this would have happened. Everything was FINALLY going right. I got rid of the old doc that I hated and had one I REALLY liked. I had my surgery and had all my meds levelled off and now THIS had to happen. SO frustrating. I guess that is life though. Whenever things seem to go status quo for 5 minutes something has to get turned upside down.

Anyway as I said on Facebook the girls go their tails beat yesterday in soccer so that was a little tough. Everyone was acting like they were tired or something so hopefully next week they will be more on their game. We had one of the dads get all upset and yell at the refs so that was ugly. I hate when parents do stuff like that! SO stupid!

But then we just came home and relaxed the rest of the day which was nice! Now today we are FINALLY going back to church. We haven't been in prob 2 months so it will be nice to get back. The girls have been going to Wed night Awana but between my surgery, being sick, and just other stuff we haven't been able to go so it will be nice to finally go again. Then we have to run to the grocery store and we should be done for the day. It is nice to have "normal" weekends for a change where we are not having to run around all the time! :)

Anyway that's bout it for me.

By the way Cheryl I am sorry about what happened with your friend. I think you handled it perfect though. I hope your friend is able to find something but obviously there is nothing you can do but just be a good friend to her. ((hugs))

Steph glad you had fun at Disney on Ice. We used to go every year twice a year but have skipped the last few years cuz it seems we have seen them all now.

Jane sounds like a fun time at Toy Story! Glad Ty was able to sit through at least 1 Show! ;)

Linda that sounds like a FUN night!

Take care all and TTYL!

Linda... that sounds like such a fun time! We haven't been to the movies in so long. Can't wait to see you.

CheryL... miss you much!

Melody... how scary! Kaitlyn and Your family is in our prayers. :littleangel:

DebbieLouWHo...pixie dust for your test! big hugs

Angie.. what a sweet son you have. I'm so glad you enjoyed Wicked. :goodvibes

molly...good to see you around these parts. Have a safe and fun trip.:wizard:

steph... i'm glad you all had such a happy family time. i've always wondered what the disney on ice shows were like. thanks for sharing about your time.

kelly... i wish for you one day without the stress.:wizard:

hey jane... it's great to see your post about the movie double feature..i was thinking of taking my 3 grandchildren.

Happy Sunday to my fellow Divas!!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Kelly I'm sorry to hear about all the issues with your insurance. What a pain! I hope you're able to get it straightened out soon.

Melody...prayers being said for your family I hope everyone is healthy soon.

Nothing new to report around here. I'm hoping Chris gets my Fall stuff down from the attic today. If he waits much longer I'm not going to even bother to decorate for Halloween. I was also wanting to go see Toy Story with Ayden but believe it or not he has NO interest in seeing it. :( He hates movies...he said it's boring you just sit there for so long. The only movies he really sits through is Cars and Polar Express....go figure. He gets it from his momma!

October is a VERY busy month for us birthday-wise. Just in our immediate families we have 9 birthdays. Ayden's birthday is actually on Halloween but we always do his party a week or two before. This year we're having his party at Funderland...a small carnival type place that I went to as a kid. I think the kids will have a blast.

I know I mentioned this awhile ago about Chriss' mom being dx'd with breast cancer. She had another surgery and they are pretty confident they got it all. We are so grateful. She is still going through chemo and so far doing ok with it. If you can spare a few prayers to keep her strong it would be appreciated.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend and a great week!

Hi everyone, all the beautiful divas,

Like Jane, I've been missing in action and very busy. I am popping on today to catch up on the last few pages to see what's happening.

CHERYL: sorry about your stressful lunch. I had one idea - I read that one of the best jobs for 09 was mediator. I have a friend in another state who was considering going into that because he has a law degree. It does require a class but most do it at night for I think 6-8 months? Anyway, one idea for your poor friend.

Last but not the least is that Kaitlyn has not been feeling well today. Kept her home from school and kept an eye on her temperature and stuff. Her temp rose, so I thought I had better call the doctor. He said all of her symptoms sound like the Swine flu. :sad2: So she just took her first dose of Tamiflu. I'd appreciate all of your prayers and thoughts. Thanks.

Melody

I read that it was dx'd as swine, I'm so sorry. Good that she caught it early. What are the symptoms that the doctor said were Swine flu, I'd like to know? (not that I'm sick but I am curious). Here's to her speedy recovery.

:grouphug:

I am so excited for my trip to Pasadena. Is it sad, that I trying to figure out if I can fit a day trip to DL:rolleyes1

Finally.......... please tell me that I am not the only person addicted to Sorority Life on facebook?????

I'd be doing the same thing!

I'm addicted to Sorority Life too!

As for me--I am running off to lunch at Macaroni Grill--normally I would be happy, but it is with a friend who lost her job a few months ago and hasn't been able to find a permanent position since. I know she's going to either hint or come out and ask to work with me but #1 I really don't have the work to support her, and #2 am not sure she would be right for my practice in either event. So this is going to be stressful lunch rather than a pleasant experience I am afraid.

How stressful for you Cheryl. I hope you were able to enjoy yourself despite the circumstances. :goodvibes

Hi girls

This has been a crazy week. Jordan has been home all week with the flu.
Kaeleb was home two days with a cough & now he has a fever.
I hope they start feeling better soon.

I hope your boys are feeling better!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hahaha...that's funny! No, microbiology. Fun stuff!

:scared: Stop using big words that I don't understand.

Thanks for your well wishes ladies.

When I had talked to our doctor last night, I mentioned that Becky my oldest DD who is pregnant was exposed to Kaitlyn the night before she became ill. So this morning Becky calls me and says, "Guess who called me this morning at 8:00?" Dr Foxe called me she says. He was concerned about me, and called a prescription for Tamiflu me too." So now she is taking it once a day, until it is gone. I tell you, he is the best doctor around. So then I am now concerned for my Mom who saw Kaitlyn that night before also. So I call back the doctor, and they are not concerned about her. Apparently the elderly and on down to about the birth year of 1957, have more immunities and should not be affected. Go figure that? It's the young who are at risk, especially the pregnant ladies. Very scary stuff for them. 1 in 3 die from the swine flu. Becky is around kids all day long teaching. Not good! :sad2:

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that Mel. I hope Kaitlyn gets better soon. Good call on calling the doctor about Becky and your mom.

I have no idea how you can get so much done in such a short period of time. :worship:

We got back about an hour ago from out trip. We took the kids to see Disney Princesses on Ice. The show was amazing. It was 2 hours including a 15 minute intermission. They had Jasmine, Belle, Mulan, Aurora, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, and Cinderella. They each had some characters from their movies too. Josh was happy to see Grumpy (w/ the other dwarfs). Also Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Tinkerbell made appearances. Selena asked if we were going to get to meet them. I felt bad when I had to tell her no :sad2:. All of the kids stayed awake for the whole show. I was worried since it started at 730pm they're normally asleep by 830pm at the latest. The girls loved all of the show and Rhys loved the music with the lighting. He really likes the music from Little Einsteins so the way they orchestrated the music for the show was perfect for him. He kept saying "I hear (fill in the blank). The smiles on their faces were priceless.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!:goodvibes

steph

Sounds like you all had a great time! I love the Disney on Ice shows, they're so much fun.

We went to the $2 movie theater tonight and saw "The Hangover". OMG, we laughed so hard! And don't think we didn't have a hot dog, popcorn and diet coke for dinner. And we got frozen yogurt on the way home at 9 pm! Having a glass of wine now and not surprised my tummy is reeking havoc on me right now.:rolleyes1

I loved that movie! Good call on dinner. :thumbsup2

Dawn, I had a dream last night that we were back at Caesar's Palace...only difference was that we had a ocean view. :rotfl2:

Big hugs to everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Happy Sunday Everyone:)

Hugs and pixie dust to all those who need it.

Kelly, Janelle, Mel...

Hi WendyLouWho, nice to see you. Are you still going to Vegas next month?

Hi WendyLouWho, nice to see you. Are you still going to Vegas next month?

Are you? I really want to, but I still don't know. I want to see what kind of prices Southwest releases for my dates, so far I've only seen up to Novemeber 13 or so.

Hi ladies! I hope you are all having a good Sunday. Just popping in for a quick hello.

We just got free tickets to a show at Planet Hollywood. It's a family show called Amazed. Not sure how good it is, but for free, it doesn't matter. After that we'll probably grab lunch at either Earl's of Sandwich or Pink's hot dogs, then hit the park to take advantage of this wonderful cool, breezy weather, and then maybe the Disney outlet.

Talk to y'all later!! :hippie:

Disney Live on Stage was cheesy but Ty enjoyed it, so that it was really matters. The basic plot was that Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy were getting ready to put on a talent show. The first half of the show had them out on a road trip looking for others to help with the show. Along the way they met Anastasia and Drizella, Cinderella, Woody, Jessie, Buzz and Tigger. Everyone except the stepsisters is then invited to participate in the show. After a short intermission a few people from the audience helped put on the "opening act" before we watched the talent show itself. Lots of singing, dancing and encouraging the kids to go crazy. We had great seats (3 rows off the floor dead center). Honestly they appeared to be better than the floor seats as we watched many people from the floor move back into empties in the stands at intermission because their kids couldn't see over the adults on the single level floor seats.

My only complaint about the show was just how overpriced the Disney food and merchandise was. I know people complain all the time about how spendy things are at the parks, but this made the parks look very reasonable by comparison. Popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade and snowcones were all $10 each and the toys started at around $12 and went up from there!!! Luckily I had packed a couple toys for Ty to play with before the show started and I had smuggled a juice box in, so we didn't buy anything.

However, I couldn't help but notice just how much cash all the parents around us were dropping during this 90 minute show. Seriously, just on food and a souvenir, the family of 3 in front of us must have spent at least $60-75, which is crazy considering that is almost as much as the tickets cost. But, as I said before, the kids all seemed to love it and that was the most important part to me.

Enjoy the last few hours of your weekend everyone--tomorrow it's back to the daily grind of the work/school week!

Yes, I am!:goodvibes
I already booked my flight. I really hope you come.:)

Jane, that sounds like a fun time for your son. Glad you felt it was worth it even with the overpriced snacks and souvies.

Dawn, my friend, big hugs to you just cause you are so special.:bride:

Hope you and your family had fun, Beth.

Night all, hope everyone has a great week.:)

Ok, I'll admit! I'm sick.
I was SO hoping it was just allergies but I feel way too crappy for this to just be allergies. I took two Nyquil and I'm off to dreamland. I'm supposed to go to Disneyland on Wednesday for my cousin's 10th birthday (got her 10 disney dollars) and I don't want to be sick!

Good night!

Morning Divas and Happy Monday!

Cristabel I am sorry you are sick and hope you feel better for your Disney day on Wed!!

Jane your day with Ty sounded like fun. I remember doing those with the girls when they were little. The Disney, Seasame Street live, Dragon Tales, Dora and on and on. They were a lot of fun but we are beyond that now LOL. I TOTALLY agree about the prices. It is nuts. That is how it is at Disney on Ice. We usually get lucky cuz they have the very first night with 10 tickets!! So that is usually when we go and the sets aren't that bad. We usually go out to dinner first and we MAYBE get some drinks but that's about it. The girls know better than to ask for all that expensive stuff cuz it is SO not worth it. Glad you had fun! :)

Beth sounds like you guys had a good time! What a great day!

Boy these weekends sure do go by WAY too fast don't they? Even though we kicked back for most of it, it just went too fast! Not much going on this week for me but the same ole same old. I just have another follow up with my surgeon on Wed and I am HOPING this will be the last one. I am getting tired of having to drive all the way downtown. I am going to try and convince mom to go and have lunch with me first though cuz it is always fun to get away and do that at least! :)

Otherwise not much on the ol plate. Just work and the usual. I plan to work out today and hopefully everyday I can this week and then Saturday we have another soccer game and then prob church again on Sunday and that's bout it. So a nice easy relax week! Looking forward to that. I am going to have to buy Shane and the girls park hoppers soon though. I have to make my visa payment with my paycheck THIS Friday but then I will prob buy them NEXT week so that is the last thing I need to do before the trip! :)

Getting really excited!

Anyway hope everyone has a GREAT day and week!! TTYL!

Good morning everyone!

Crystabel - Sorry to hear you're sick that totally stinks! I am hoping that the kids don't get sick but the odds of that are not on our side. They have several reported cases of that darn pig flu at both of their schools. I hope you feel better soon!!!

Kelly - I agree - weekends go way to quickly even though I didn't do much with Mr. CA gone and the kids at their mom's house but I did go to lunch with a special friend on Sat. and then yesterday decorated for Halloween and baked a little. It was quiet but it was a nice quiet 'me' weekend but I really think we need to petition for 3 day weekends!;)
Even though your 'normal' life is still crazy busy I am glad to hear that it seems to be back to normal and that it is not any crazier than normal!!!

If everything goes well today Mr. CA will be home tomorrow afternoon. Keeping fingers crossed that the wind tunnel doesn't break down!! Then I leave Friday at the crack of dawn...ugh...a 7:30am flight, for a week in Denver. I am so looking forward to seeing my sister and family and spending time in Denver. My parents will be in Denver for a couple of days too before they fly off to Switzerland (I'm still jealous!). Mr. CA is going to join me in CO for the weekend of Oct. 16 and we are either going to Vail or Estes Park and then we'll fly back home together on Sunday. :cloud9:

AND then it'll only be a couple of days until the Oct meet and I am so excited to see you all and your families and we are staying at GCH! I've only stayed there once for one night so this will be great weekend...Divas and GCH...couldn't get any better! :dance3:

I hope everyone has a great week!

Hello back at ya, Tina! :wave2:

Jane, I'm glad Ty enjoyed the show. Those prices are crazy! I know people will pay them though, and I guess Disney knows that too.

Linda, I hope I'm able to go next month!

Cristabel, sorry you're sick. Good call on getting extra rest. I'm glad your phone and car were still there waiting for you. :goodvibes Get better soon!

Kelly, enjoy your relaxing week! Yay for Disneyland tickets!

Vicki, I'm crossing my fingers that Mr. CA comes home tomorrow! :wizard:

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Happy Monday, Divas! I'm still sick here and now Jesse is home sick too - boo! This flu is hanging around way too long (since I got home from Vegas).

Are we getting anywhere yet with t-shirt suggestions? I know we had posted a couple of choices, but no one really commented on any of them.

I had a thought about the tie dye shirts for the divas who don't like tie dye. I know some of you were going to buy tie dye material and sew a Mickey head onto a plain t-shirt. I found this:

gratefuldadmickeyheadblank2.jpg

This would be easy to do - just print on a transfer and iron on, same as the Tinks from this year. I think I'm going to make one up for October :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear that you are sick--get better soon!!!

That transfer is absolutely adorable--I may print a few just for fun as well. I have gotten pretty darn good at the whole transfer process as most of Ty's shirts for school are from the disigns boards.

Meanwhile, that reminds me that I need to look for a shirt to send to Cassie to tie dye for me. I want something a little more girlie than just your basic white tee, so I need to get on that one sometime soon.

Hello ladies!! The weather here is finally getting nice! Right now it's 68 with an expected high of 73. Perfect!

Jane~ Those prices are nuts. Worse than the parks! And when we saw the circus at the Orleans it was even worse. $13 or so for cotton candy. It was insane. But people were paying it. Not me!! I sneak snacks in. lol

Cristabel~ Feel better soon. :wizard:

Wendy~ I hope you make it next month too. Especially since we are missing out on October. Or are you going to that meet now? I can't keep up, lol.

Vicki~ I hope Mr. CA makes it home safe and sound. Your upcoming vacation together in CO sounds really nice.

Theresa~ Sorry you are still sick. What cute Mickey head tie dye!! As for the tees, Melody's son is working on a design for us right now. :yay:

Everyone else, I hope you are doing well. My kids are home from school today and we've had a nice kick back day so far. :goodvibes
