Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Why are people leaving me & Steakhouse 55 :sad2:
Come on people, I shower!

It's not you, it's me!! Really!!

Yay, Captain EO will be open for our trip. I hope it doesn't bring in more people.

Hope everyone is having a great day! :goodvibes

Of course it will! Maybe we should try and plan it for Friday morning, since there's no MM/EE that day.

How do I rent DVC points?

SarahMay

I did it through DVCrequest . com (take out the spaces). It's weird that it gets starred out since he comes up on the top of the page ads sometimes... It was a very easy process. Or check the Dis DVC boards. I just liked going through someone who I felt was more reliable since he does it so often.

I agree, I think we should hightail it over there at opening, and then head over to FL! That's my plan at least. :goodvibes

Completely Off Topic but I am having such a hard time deciding between Polynesian, Caribbean Beach and Fort Wilderness cabins for my trip in November of 2011...there will be 6 of us...me, dh, ds, dd, my mom and my 13 year old nephew.
Never been to any of them of course, but I have friends who adore the Poly. They will only stay there. I think with young kids, the cabins would be a blast. But that's sort of roughing it I guess. lol

Okay, since Beth opened up a can of worms (j/k), I'm going to take my name off Steakhouse 55. Not adding it to anything else.
I did, didn't I? I HATE last minute changes and here I go instigating some!! LOL
I'll add that info for ya.

You shower?? No one said anything about us having to shower on this trip. :confused3

It's not you. It's Mickey, and endless food. LOL I cannot pass up those things. :rotfl:

Yay, Captain EO will be open for our trip. I hope it doesn't bring in more people.
Of course it will. The park will be shoulder to shoulder with us, cheerleaders, and Captain EO diehards. And we'll all either be sweating to death or drowning in rain. Fun times.

Beth, I know you know all about dental woes. I got my cleaning, did not hurt at all :thumbsup2 but now my new dentist has a permagrin on her face because a) we're new clients b) I'm scheduled to get my wisdom teeth removed in 3 weeks and c) I'm scheduled to see a root canal specialist because they think I will need one on my front big tooth.
Doesn't it SUCK?????????? I hate the dentist. I have dental work to look forward to when this trip is over. Waaaaaahhhhh!!
Let me know how the wisdom tooth removal goes. That's on my list too.
I hope your out of pocket expense isn't anywhere near mine. $$$$$

My first and only and never again time on TOT. Why is my family the only ones scared? LOL
We're the front row except for the blond guy. Sarah wasn't at this trip.

You mean before Princess Fantasy Faire??? Or after It's a Small World? The wait times at PFF get pretty long pretty fast - and I know from last year, if you are late, too bad so sad (right, Donna and Tracey??? - Freakin Peter Pan!)

Is Captain EO an all day thing? I mean shows run right up until park closing right?
I might sneak that in one night late after the crowds thin out. Like really late, just before closing. :confused3

I was thinking first thing in the morning, but last thing at night might work too...

It's so hard to know what to do......

Like Theresa said, PFF can get horrendous waits. Up to two hours right off the bat. I loved our group pic there for last year, so I don't want to lose that chance, kwim??

I don't know. :confused3

I just remember one year the family and I were there on a crowded day, and got more done in the last two hours of park opening (10-midnight) than we had all day long. It was great. :teeth:
And I still want to do Storybook one night too.

I don't think I could see it during the night, the evil witch queen lady scared the heck out of me when I was little, and I'm sure she still will. :scared1:

I forgot about PFF since I wasn't planning on doing it. I really want ot meet up for Small World though. Maybe someone (Theresa! LOL) can call me when you get to the princesses so that I know to head over to meet you all.

I really want to ride the FL rides first thing Friday morning, so I think EO later on sounds great. I'm honestly going to be ok though if I don't get to see it.

First of all, what do you mean you aren't doing PFF?? :confused3 It's tiara time lady!!! Get in the picture. princess:

So Friday the park closes at midnight. What about meeting up for a late night showing then, say 11? :confused3

Just saw on MousePlanet that Captain Eo is opening next Tuesday!!!!!

Are the cheerleaders going to be BAD when we go? :cheer2:

Oh and I have a consultation with the orthodontist today

Cristabel, are you going to get braces like ME? OH YAY! :woohoo: Okay, so maybe you may not be THAT excited.

I got my wisdom teeth out a couple years ago, but they put me to sleep so it was easy peezy. I don't know about being awake though. :scared1:

I know!! I saw it on Facebook and Wendy just posted here that it will be open. We are trying to decide when and where in our overly cramped schedule to find time to see it. :rotfl: :3dglasses

We will be there for 4 nights and my mom wants something with a cool pool, a good location to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, good convinient transportion and a decent price. I have priced them out and Polynesian has a good pool, great transportation, good location to the parks we want but is really pricey...like double the price of the other options. The Caribbean Beach has a good pool, low price but is not in a great location nor does it have great transportation. The Fort Wilderness cabins are about the same price as the Caribbean beach, has good transportation, a good location but the pool is really basic. I just don't know which to pick...I am betting my mom is not going to want to do Polynesian at that big a price difference.

Opinions?

SarahMay

I have stayed at both the Poly and the CBR. I wasn't too pleased with CBR when we stayed there. It is a HUGE resort - the bus can take 20 minutes just to get out of the resort with all the bus stops within the CBR!
We just stayed at the Poly last month. Beautiful resort and the transportation was great! We never used the pool - too cold!
We are going this Nov and staying at the Beach Club. I think we are really going to like being near Epcot!
You still have plenty of time to choose. They aren't booking for 2011 yet, are they? I would spend time over on the WDW boards. I have learned alot over there, believe it or not!

I promised my 10 yr old son I'd see this so I MUST fit it in somewhere! :rolleyes1

Sounds good...I am in!

SarahMay

Oh, and have I mentioned how happy I am that it is Friday! :scared1: After the gym tonight I am having nachos, packing and updating my Diva trip schedule with all the changes! Oh, and doing laundry so my clothes are clean for the trip...I don't have different clothes to pack for different weather....I only have a few shirts that currently fit due to the weight I have lost so basically I am just packing everything that fits...1 pair of pants, 1 pair of walking shorts and about 6 t-shirts...luckily most of them are the right color and have mickey on them!

Okay, the reservation for the Mickey and Friends breakfast is made. It's for Monday at 9:10, closest time they had to 9:30.

So far I have 6 people, but there are two more spots if anyone wants them:
1. Beth
2. Shirley
3. Theresa
4. Sarah
5. Cheryl
6. Jane
7.
8.

My inlaws are on their way over now. TTYL!!

Hi Sarah,

How exciting to plan a trip to WDW! :yay:

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "a good location to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom". You can't get any further apart than those two parks.....the MK is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy over on one side of WDW, and the AK is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy over on the other side. :goodvibes

The best location to both of these parks would be right in the middle. Probably an Epcot area resort would be best.....more centrally located. However, if you'll be spending most of your time at the MK, then a MK resort would be best.

Unless you receive some kind of discount code, or unless WDW is running a great deal when you go (like free dining), in order to get what you want, it would probably be the most economical to rent DVC points and stay in a two bedroom. I think the cheapest DVC 2 bedroom you could get point-wise (and yet the one with the biggest rooms) would be Old Key West. However, it seems WDW is running all sorts of specials these days and most likely will continue to need to do so during these tough times.

I rented points when DH and I stayed at SSR from a member here on the DisBoards, but she had been a member for years, so I trusted her. If you do the same, try to rent points from a veteran DisBoard member so you don't get burned.

For a cool pool - Fort Wilderness is definitely out.

Pretty much all the other resorts have cool pools and slides (except for the value resorts), so it's up to you based on the theme you like the best, the comfort/size of the rooms, location you want, and budget.

Have fun deciding. :rotfl:
