Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Please excuse me while I rant. Thanks. :teeth:

Really???? Seriously??? Are you kidding me?!?!?!

This was the forecast for next Monday as of last night:
Monday, Mar 1
High: 59 °F RealFeel®: 57 °F
Rain at times

This is the same forecast as of this morning:
Monday, Mar 1
High: 69 °F RealFeel®: 74 °F
Abundant sunshine

Less than 24 hours later and it's a difference of 17 degrees???? (real feel)
Am I happy the rain is gone? Yes.
Am I happy that I have no clue how to pack when the weather fluctuates 17 degrees overnight? NO!

I don't have room to just throw in a bunch of short sleeves and long sleeves, flip flops and rain boots. WTH?? The other days all changed too.

I'm very annoyed.

Okay, rant over. Carry on. :flower3: Oh, and good morning.

We are having crazy fluctuations right now - 20 degrees just recently. Today it is gloomy and rain is predicted for this weekend. So unless you run really hot (Heather), you can probably ditch the short sleeves (ymmv of course). If you're like Vicki, you always have flip flops and you can wear them around Hojos.

It's true we're not going to the jungle and we can buy things, but aside from the expense, there's the time. Our schedule is so packed, where's the time to go out shopping? Whenever I go to DL, once I park my car in a precious space (it can get hard to find spaces at Hojo's at times), and start hitting the cocktails, it's parked until I leave!:lmao:

So I don't blame Beth for looking at the weather. It's better than not being prepared. (dh today said we don't need to turn the sprinklers off, it's not going to rain until Monday - uh, no...)

Have a great day, ladies. Try not to set off anymore smoke alarms!
(are you all taping your signs to the door?)

Carol - lots of prayers and pixie dust coming your way! :wizard:

Katie - YAY, you'll get to spend more time with us! Oh, and do the Scavenger hunt! :cheer2:

Well, I hope it doesn't rain. MSN weather has a 20% chance of rain for Friday and a 70% chance of rain for Saturday.....scavenger hunt day! YIKES! I don't have a rain coat or rain boots and neither are part of my trip budget, if ya know what I mean. :rolleyes1

Oh well, I guess getting wet won't kill me. It'll make me, well, wet and cold, but it won't kill me.

Here's my rant for the day:

I would really like to start a new Facebook group.....the "University of Phoenix's Learning Teams Suck" group. I mean really, who's bright idea was it to have learning teams be a part of every single class?!!! And not just one assignment for every single class. OHHHHHH NOOOOOO! You will be doing multiple assignments with your learning teams in every single class. And guess what? You get the extra bonus of your grade relying on their work. Too bad if you're a straight "A" student. If 4 out of 5 team members do "B" quality work, you're getting a "B" on that assignment, even if you did "A" quality work And you have no recourse on this. Doesn't that sound like fun? Doesn't it make you want to go to school there? It's like a party! It's so great letting slackers get a payoff from your quality work. Oh, and you get a payoff too....a crummy grade for their crappy work. Whoooo hoooooo - FUN!!! :woohoo:

Hey, I have an idea!

I think every head at the University of Phoenix should have to take 45 credits of classes, doing 3-4 learning team assignments for every class, and then see how THEY like it. I mean, since it's their bright idea to have learning teams for every class with multiple assignments, then they should have to experience it for themselves. :snooty:

Okay, rant over.

:rolleyes1

I'm sorry Capri , I've heard many complain about U of Phoenix. I looked into them once to finish out my degrees, but decided against it. How frustrating!

D-I've been fluctuating hot and cold. I'm just going to pack for medium and hope for the best. I won't be running around as much, and it won't be August. How did your teaching DH to pill the cat go? It doesn't sound pleasant! :scared1:

I just got off the phone with my mom...she took my daughter in to the doctor today...we thought she might have an ear infection (she doesn't!) and she has a really bad rash which turns out to be excema. I am so bummed for her. It's hard enough being a kid and growing up let alone if you have a rash to deal with. I guess the doctor gave my mom lots of good tips to help and prescribed a cream for the worst areas. I am just so sad for her. :sad1:

Sarah, don't worry too much. Jesse had terrible eczema when he was little, but we treated it appropriately and he barely has any issues now (unless he forgets to keep moisturized)

:confused3 I am usually pretty craft friendly, but I am having a blonde moment right now.. I am prepping to iron on the transfer for our shirts and the instructions say to use greaseproof paper. :confused3Is Greaseproof paper the same as waxed paper??

No, don't use waxed paper - you will have a huge waxy mess on your hands! It's parchment paper (if you buy the dark fabric transfers, there should be a piece of parchment in the package to use)

Yes, this is most importante and we need to get it on the schedule PRONTO.
Will do!! :thumbsup2

Uhhhh, wait. When?? :rotfl2:

And I got all different colors undies, only 1 white, in my 12 pairs! Love it!! DH and DD didn't want to hear about them last night, said it was TMI!!
Pretty!! ;)

Can you add the Visa picture at 11:30 at DCA? THanks!
What day is this planned for?

I'm sorry about your DD by the way. I think she'll be okay. Like Theresa said, the creams should help. But as a mom, I understand what you are saying.

I have this poster putty stuff that I put on the back. It's supposed to not damage the wall or door. Although one trip I forgot it, and used tape and it was fine too.

Okay, rant over.

:rolleyes1
Feel better? It's good to rant now and then. Keeps ya sane.

I KNOW how frustrating last minute changes are. Trust me, I know. Especially to meal plans. However, having said that, it dawned on me that we aren't doing a character meal this trip. Why that just hit me now, I don't know. Just slow I guess.

Actually I didn't think about it because we usually don't do those meals as a family. Too expensive for a family of six!! :scared1:
In fact, I've only done ONE character meal ever at Disneyland and that was the Lilo and Stitch meal back in '08.

Anyway, I was thinking that since this will be my last time at DLR for at least two years or more :( , and since it's Shirley's first time :) , I'd like to do the Surf's Up Mickey and Friends breakfast.

I wasn't sure if I should because it seems utterly and completely frivolous considering the strict budget I am on, but it's not something I can ever afford to do with my whole family and that's part of what this trip is about; treating ourselves to things we wouldn't normally do. So I decided to go for it, and just cut back at other meals.

Looking at the schedule however there is only one day that I personally can see doing it, and that's on Monday morning in place of going to Steakhouse 55. I was looking forward to that, but I guess it's going to have to wait for another time.

Now, I'm not posting this to pull anyone away from their original plans, either Steakhouse 55 or anything else, but merely to let everyone know what I'd like to do and see if there is anyone else interested. IF not, that's perfectly fine. I understand. If yes, I'd love to have you join me and Shirley.

I'll call and make the reservation today at 4:00, so if anyone else wants to come, let me know before then and I'll add you. Sorry this is so last minute, it was just something I decided this morning.
Thanks. :)

Okay, no waxed paper.. I checked the folder and there wasn't a piece of parchment paper in there. can I use the parchment paper that I use for baking??

Hey, isn't Ariel's considered a character meal?:confused3

Double hey - You've done more than ONE character mean at Disneyland young lady. Uhhhh, did ya forget about Storyteller's last year? I'm pretty sure I remember you marching around with Chip and Dale. :rolleyes1

I was just going to have a granola bar in the room, so I will be happy to join you! What time?

Count me in for the Mickey and Friends breakfast! I was feeling a little sad we wouldn't have a character brekkie, so now I'm happy (and I've never been to Paradise Pier before) :yay:

Monday please!
Done!

I love the princesses. But I'd like one with Mickey.

YES!!! I totally forgot about that. I've done two. :yay: :yay: This will be three. Yay me!! :thumbsup2

I wasn't impressed with the Storytellers one though. I hope the Mickey one is better. The Lilo and Stitch one was awesome. January and Maddie came with us, and Maddie kept hugging Stitch. It was adorable. :goodvibes

OKay. I'll add you too then. I hope it's as nice as it was when it was Lilo and Stitch. Guess we'll find out. :confused3

I agree, I wasn't impressed with the Storytellers breakfast...I am having lunch there this trip so I hope it is better. I have liked Goofy's kitchen in the past and plan to do Minnie and Friends in the park next time I take the family.
