Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Jill(4fosterkids) and Chris(Califgirl) both are pin traders. If there is a CM with a lanyard they are there. They always find good ones too.
LOL....yes we both love pin trading! I always have a bunch with me :)

Uhhh, oh, it takes forever. I mean at least two hours. Maybe more? :confused3 Sorry, no time for ToT. :rolleyes1
LOL

I sort of just slipped in think pink and Capri was the winner!

Thanks!
Yay for pink!! Congrats and best wishes :)

I think there were several Divas planning on riding Monsters. I know Linda was for sure....and 5 or 6 others at least.

But Bethy.....she's no ride wimp. She's been on the TOT before. She's just trying to slip under the radar....being sneaky. :tiptoe:
I'm a monster rider.....no TOT for me :) I love hearing what Roz has to say to us at the end!

This is great news Heather!:thumbsup2
I'm trying to get Jack assessed by our Regional Center for in-home ABA/IBI (intensive behavioral intervention). The special day class he is in is an autism specific ABA based classroom, but he needs more. I have no doubt he will qualify once I can get them out here to assess him - but the state takes FOREVER to do anything. :sad2: He is behaviors are getting more severe and out of control and he is getting stronger.

Love Monster's Inc. - HATE Tower of Terror. And yes, I've been on ToT many, many times before my kids were old enough to ride alone. I hate free-fall drops!!! :scared1:

Aunt Flo came last week for me! Thank God!! :thumbsup2

Is Captain EO even open yet??
Yay for Regional Center! I'm glad they are helping!

I'm sorry, I thought I sent you a message on FB, but I guess it slipped my mind :upsidedow. Yes, I'll be there until Saturday night. My sister is going to take me & pick me up since I couldn't find a good price on a rental car.
Glad you got something worked out Katie! Yay for your sister...thank her for us!!

Carol - lots of prayers and pixie dust coming your way! :wizard:

Katie - YAY, you'll get to spend more time with us! Oh, and do the Scavenger hunt! :cheer2:

Well, I hope it doesn't rain. MSN weather has a 20% chance of rain for Friday and a 70% chance of rain for Saturday.....scavenger hunt day! YIKES! I don't have a rain coat or rain boots and neither are part of my trip budget, if ya know what I mean. :rolleyes1

Oh well, I guess getting wet won't kill me. It'll make me, well, wet and cold, but it won't kill me.

Here's my rant for the day:

I would really like to start a new Facebook group.....the "University of Phoenix's Learning Teams Suck" group. I mean really, who's bright idea was it to have learning teams be a part of every single class?!!! And not just one assignment for every single class. OHHHHHH NOOOOOO! You will be doing multiple assignments with your learning teams in every single class. And guess what? You get the extra bonus of your grade relying on their work. Too bad if you're a straight "A" student. If 4 out of 5 team members do "B" quality work, you're getting a "B" on that assignment, even if you did "A" quality work And you have no recourse on this. Doesn't that sound like fun? Doesn't it make you want to go to school there? It's like a party! It's so great letting slackers get a payoff from your quality work. Oh, and you get a payoff too....a crummy grade for their crappy work. Whoooo hoooooo - FUN!!! :woohoo:

Hey, I have an idea!

I think every head at the University of Phoenix should have to take 45 credits of classes, doing 3-4 learning team assignments for every class, and then see how THEY like it. I mean, since it's their bright idea to have learning teams for every class with multiple assignments, then they should have to experience it for themselves. :snooty:

Okay, rant over.

:rolleyes1
Oh I didn't realize you were a UofP'er. Beau's looking into that as a possibility. Give me your honest opinion of it all.

Completely Off Topic but I am having such a hard time deciding between Polynesian, Caribbean Beach and Fort Wilderness cabins for my trip in November of 2011...there will be 6 of us...me, dh, ds, dd, my mom and my 13 year old nephew. We will be there for 4 nights and my mom wants something with a cool pool, a good location to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, good convinient transportion and a decent price. I have priced them out and Polynesian has a good pool, great transportation, good location to the parks we want but is really pricey...like double the price of the other options. The Caribbean Beach has a good pool, low price but is not in a great location nor does it have great transportation. The Fort Wilderness cabins are about the same price as the Caribbean beach, has good transportation, a good location but the pool is really basic. I just don't know which to pick...I am betting my mom is not going to want to do Polynesian at that big a price difference.

Opinions?

SarahMay
Poly, Poly, Poly! I love the Poly.
I've stayed at CBR for 1 night, so don't have a good opinion. It seemed really big and spread out, and far away for some reason. Never stayed at FW cabins, but took a Segway tour thru them and they looked fun.

Somehow I missed the multi quote...but thru 2/25 Princess Fantasyfare's hours are M - Th 10:20 - 5:30 and F - Sun 9-6. I'm thinking they will be the same for the next week's block.

Yay...its Friday! Hope everybody is having a good one!

Okay, the reservation for the Mickey and Friends breakfast is made. It's for Monday at 9:10, closest time they had to 9:30.

So far I have 6 people, but there are two more spots if anyone wants them:
1. Beth
2. Shirley
3. Theresa
4. Sarah
5. Cheryl
6. Jane
7.
8.

My inlaws are on their way over now. TTYL!!

I would  LOVE  to go - but I leave on Sunday afternoon to head back to reality! :sad1:
But I'm not thinking about that right now - ONE WEEK from today I'll be enjoying DL!!!:banana::banana:

I am going to get the 5 day pass for $169 for this trip. We are thinking of possibly upgrading it to an annual pass...it looks like for $299. Is this $299 the same at the gate? Would it save money to do it this way? We are trying to decide about doing a family trip in July/August. The biggest problem is getting some cheaper airline tickets....I am sending hubby on a hunt for them. Does this plan seem feasible at all?

Daisy

You shower?? No one said anything about us having to shower on this trip. :confused3

It's not you. It's Mickey, and endless food. LOL I cannot pass up those things. :rotfl:

Doesn't it SUCK?????????? I hate the dentist. I have dental work to look forward to when this trip is over. Waaaaaahhhhh!!
Let me know how the wisdom tooth removal goes. That's on my list too.
I hope your out of pocket expense isn't anywhere near mine. $$$$$

I like Mickey and endless food but the price makes me go :scared1:

So, the ortho went fine, long but fine. It's going to cost a bit more than regular braces because I have an overbite. The doctor went over three options with us and one of them was jaw surgery :scared1: NO THANK YOU! He said he wouldn't recommend it for me because my overbite is not affecting my profile aka my face doesn't look like :lmao:So my mom leaves to pick up my sister from school and I stay so they can take x-rays and pictures. They put the before and after pictures in a folder for future clients. It's very cool! They go ahead and put spacers between some of my teeth and it's pretty painful. They put string between the teeth (like floss), shove a small pair of pliers to open a gap and shove in a rubber spacer. We did about 8 spacers and then had to take them all out again when they learned I couldn't come back next week! :headache: So my mouth is very sore.

We decided that I won't be getting my wisdom teeth taken out because it's not necessary. My ortho says it's independent and will have no affect on my braces and I feel like my new dentist is just trying to get as much cash out of us as possible. So Beth, ALWAYS make sure you ask if it is definitely, 100% required before getting any work done.

Wait, you all shower AND wear deodorant??? Next you'll be telling me you change your underwear daily and actually wear bras. :confused3

Hey, speaking as your former roomie, I would really appreciate it if you actually WORE underwear daily this year. ;)

Oh I didn't realize you were a UofP'er. Beau's looking into that as a possibility. Give me your honest opinion of it all.

I will be happy to tell you all about it next week in more detail, but here's the main scoop about the U of P:

Good school with good programs

Here's the trade off:
There are really no tests to study for and take per se because, obviously being an online school, there's no way to monitor if the students are cheating or not. (Although, they do have campuses in certain locations, but I'm not sure if the curriculum differs on their campuses compared to their online school.)

However, in lieu of tests to assess student learning, students are given lots and lots of intensive assignments, projects, and work, ensuring that students must learn the subject matter in order to complete the assignments.

If I ever go to WDW (and I do hope SOMEDAY I will). I want to stay at the Poly. But I will have to strike it rich or hit the lotto (which I never play) in order to afford that. Right now WDW is a big dream that seems unreachable. Seems silly that we can afford 10 days in Maui, but not a trip to WDW. :(

Thanks for all of the pink wishes!!!

Cheryl- =) about Dawnie! I so needed to talk to her the other day.
Beth- please add me to Surfs up if there is still room!!! Thanks.

I got a tye dye shirt at Target today.
I decided to pack for warm weather, if the weather turns bad I will take a cab to Target!

I just PM'd you Beth about the breakfast.:)

Sorry about the sore mouth, Cristabel. Ouch. I never had braces, but wore a retainer for two years and every time it was tightened, my whole mouth hurt. All the teeth. I remember that pain. It's not fun. :headache:

Sarah - another vote for the Poly. We absolutely loved it there. Of course, tropical and hawaiian themed places are my family's favorite.;)

Daisy - I think you should upgrade to an AP and plan a family vacation for the summer - never too much DL according to this girl!:thumbsup2

Why am I so tired tonight? It has been a long week. I am so lazy that I microwaved Marie Calendars Lasagne and some garlic toast for dinner. DH was like "uhhhh....okaaaaay". He never complains, but I know he was expecting more.

Maybe it's because I don't really like Chip and Dale.

they like you.

I agree, I think we should hightail it over there at opening, and then head over to FL! That's my plan at least. :goodvibes

That sounds like the Heather I know.
Day 1 - first thing, fantasy land, Peter Pan, Mr. Toad's, Snow White, Storybook boats.
Day 2 - "So let's do it all again!"

You mean before Princess Fantasy Faire??? Or after It's a Small World? The wait times at PFF get pretty long pretty fast - and I know from last year, if you are late, too bad so sad (right, Donna and Tracey??? - Freakin Peter Pan!)

No, she means Fantasy Land rides.
And yup - it wasn't Peter Pan's fault - it was that couple of mommies who took way too long to board the ship in front of us. It stopped up the whole line for 20 min because of an automatic reset. I learned that's why they try to get you promptly on the rides.

I was thinking first thing in the morning, but last thing at night might work too...

Great idea!!

Just saw on MousePlanet that Captain Eo is opening next Tuesday!!!!!

Yea!!!!

The reason is because it's all the way across the country. We never made it until last year and that's only because we were going to be in Florida anyway. But it really is wonderful. I wish we had more than 3 days there.

Thanks for all of the pink wishes!!!

Cheryl- =) about Dawnie! I so needed to talk to her the other day.
I decided to pack for warm weather, if the weather turns bad I will take a cab to Target!

Deb - I needed to talk to Dawn today myself. Esp with the trip so close.

About the packing...;) you're joking, right?

And you don't want to take a cab, Vicki and I can tell you. Easier to pack whatever will make you comfortable, even if the weather doesn't end up being as warm as you wished.

Linda -:wizard:

ummmm, no! I can drive you I'm sure (or somebody else with a car most likely!) :thumbsup2

Deb, I'm thinking PINK thoughts for you too! Congrats! :goodvibes

Heather, Good news! :cool1:

Kaitlyn needs her wisdom teeth out too this year. :headache::sad2::headache:

Daisy, not sure about the price difference for an AP. I'm sure it's the same. Why don't you wait and upgrade while you are here. :thumbsup2 Then you can decide what's best for the rest of your family. Will this be their first time to DL?

6 days!!! :dance3:

Beth, can you put me down for the Jazz Kitchen dinner on Sat @ 7:30? I get off work usually about 6:30, so should be able to make that.

I guess I need to make myself available for target runs after I made fun of everyone watching the weather so closely!!

But really pack a couple short sleeves, 1 long, a poncho, one zip, two shoes, and a couple extra socks....it'll work out!! No one will care if you wear the same outfit two days...for reals!!

I am going to be super loaded since I am bringing things like my ironing board and iron...some of you still need your iron on...yes?

I am bringing a case of water and a couple of gallons, should I be bringing anything else roomies?
Oh, and I am bringing tons of Girl Scout Cookies......for all that ordered!!!!!!!

Aren't there irons in the rooms? Hopefully Heather and I are doing our shirts when she gets here next Wednesday, then off to see Mary Poppins!! And eat at the Cheesecake Factory!! Can't wait!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

So if that holds true, then we'll need to be there pretty early on Friday. A little before 9 anyway.

Fine. Take away all my fun why don't you.

Seems silly that we can afford 10 days in Maui, but not a trip to WDW. :(
That does seem a bit ridiculous doesn't it? :sad2:

Beth- please add me to Surfs up if there is still room!!! Thanks.
Will do. :thumbsup2
It's full up now. Also added Linda and Chris.

Why am I so tired tonight? It has been a long week. I am so lazy that I microwaved Marie Calendars Lasagne and some garlic toast for dinner. DH was like "uhhhh....okaaaaay". He never complains, but I know he was expecting more.
You okay? Just a rough week in general? Or something going on?

Beth, can you put me down for the Jazz Kitchen dinner on Sat @ 7:30? I get off work usually about 6:30, so should be able to make that.
Got it. :thumbsup2

I am going to be super loaded since I am bringing things like my ironing board and iron...some of you still need your iron on...yes?
Please tell me this is some sort of sick joke???

I don't even iron at home..... :rolleyes1

Hopefully Heather and I are doing our shirts when she gets here next Wednesday, then off to see Mary Poppins!! And eat at the Cheesecake Factory!! Can't wait!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

Fun, fun, fun!! :dance3:

You know, there are irons and boards in the rooms...but I find they never get as hot as a nice (read good and $ iron does)..and the iron ons are supposed to be done on a really hard surface...like a cutting board. I can't bring one of mine as they all smell of onions when heated..and my ironing board is one from my grandma from, I think 1940...so it will work better than the in room one as it is heavy and harder than modern ones....so I really haven't lost my mind, really. Really. (even if I set off my smoke alarm doing my door sign!!).

Got it. :thumbsup2

Fun, fun, fun!! :dance3:

Hey now, I promised Stacie and Cristabel I would do their Iron ons for them....it was a nice thing, not a crazy one!!
