Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Stacie, I wanted to ask to leave work early on Friday, I was sooo close, but it was only like an hour before it was time to go home anyways.

Kerry, lettuce wraps sound yummy! And so does lemon bars. I hope your work drama isn't totally drama-rama for you!

I think I'm going to be early tonight.

Hello.

I want to thank everyone for their well wishes about Daisy. So thoughtful. :grouphug:

Steph, Good luck on your test! :teacher:

Jill, So what is this workout you are doing?

Stacie/lee, Sounds like you had a fabulous time. :goodvibes

Shirley, Was wondering where you have been. :confused3Looks like you got snowed in. :upsidedow

Tina, Marty is nuts! Building and camping in an igloo sounds like the last thing I would ever ever want to do. :cold:

Stacie, Katie and AmySue, Please get well soon. :flower3:

Daisy, Your foot sounds horrible. Are you hobbling around? :headache:

Linda, What a nice DD you have! :cloud9:

Patty, We had a Sweet 16 party in November for Kaitlyn. Have fun! If you need a fun cake, try Target's pull apart cupcakes. We had Kaitlyn's shaped like a princess crown done in zebra stripes and hot pink trim. It was really cute and easy to serve. Just pull the cupcake away from the rest........and bingo........no plates or forks needed. :cool1:

Kerry, whatever is going on for the next few days, good luck. :thumbsup2

Courtney, I feel your pain. When I had braces, back in the time,:rolleyes1 every single tooth had a band on them. Not just the back ones. So before they could put the bands on, all my teeth had to be spaced apart to make room for them. They were so tender and it hurt so bad. :sad1: Talk about a mouth full of metal? Youza!

Well ladies, Cheryl is working on the last of the questions. Woo hoo! :stir:

Hey ladies!!!

Add me as one who cannot believe tomorrow is already Monday. WHERE OH WHERE did the time go?? :confused3

Oh well. The good news is tomorrow is Feb. 1st. :cool1:

I did read back but am too darn lazy to multi-quote. So for now I will say hugs, well wishes, and luck to all who need it.
And I will add the Meet and Greet time now. :thumbsup2

Have a good night everyone. TTYL!

Oh, remember when they put the wires on? They were all sticking out of my mouth until they cut them and pushed the ends down.

Just so you all know, I didn't even try to spy at Cheryl's house for any hints! Sorry Sarah and Carol!!

Hi girls! I'm totally behind in this thread too ...

Mel, I am sooo sorry about your dog. It cuts deep to lose a canine member of the family. Big hugs to you!

Jill, congrats on finding a geat workout, I need something to kick MY butt - but don't have Netflix. (and if I did, would I find another excuse? probably!)

Steph, good luck on your test!!

AmySue, congrats to you and Claire on the cookie sales! Save some cookies for me!! ;)

Cheryl, are those questions you're almost done with for the scavenger hunt? Let me know if you would like me (an outsider) to 'test run' your game. I won't be able to be there on Saturday since I teach that day, and that has always been a favorite activity of mine. I promise not to give any hints,, subtle or otherwise to the Divas, but I'll let you know of any trouble spots or missing clues/answers.

I'm another that can't believe the weekend is nearly over! Hope everyone has a wonderful, healthy week ahead!:goodvibes

I had a nice time with family tonight.

I hope everyone else had a great, but surprisingly short, weekend. I don't know when I'll be home again because this weekend and the weekend of our trip I'll definitely be in the OC. I don't like staying away too long and it's not really because I desperately miss my family, because I do miss them but :rolleyes1...it's mostly because I want to see Jingles :lovestruc

I'm going to call the humane society to see if I can get Jingles in for her spay this month. Preferably during President's weekend if they're open. I don't want to even attempt the dog park if she isn't fixed.

Wow, there's a lot of off topic banter.

Bye ladies.

Oh and I'm super excited about tomorrow because I'm joining Weight Watchers

Just so you all know, I didn't even try to spy at Cheryl's house for any hints! Sorry Sarah and Carol!!
What!?! Not very pirate-y of you! What about all that pillaging and rifling and plundering? You did of course memorize everything about the park so you can answer all the questions, right? I do hope you had a great time. I was thinking this morning about how nice it was living in Phoenix and being able to go to Disneyland for a weekend. I suppose being in Peoria takes another half hour off the time since you are already on the west side. I lived on the east side but not too far, and that was a looong time ago.

Cristabel - we love Mario Party! It's always fun when everyone comes over and plays together, the N64 is the only system that we have 4 controllers for so everyone can play. Bryan remembers getting that game for his 7th birthday.

That is all.

Okay, it is because my PM box was almost full for the very first time. I feel like a celebrity, which is different than looking like a celebrity, if you saw on FB, I look like Elizabeth from the Waltons.

I was taking a wee break from ironing...where does the pile come from?...done about 20 items and the pile still looms.

I wanted to say--Good Luck Steph!!

I am really happy Chris you are making a lot of the meet...I met you for about 3 minutes the first year, shared some smart aleck witty repartee and saw you briefly at a MA--so look forward to getting to know you better.

Oh, and Courtney--make up goddess...maybe you can give me some makeup advice at the meet...pajama party fodder? I haven't quite mastered mascara, lipstick/eye shadow, forget about it!!

Shirley---I miss snow!!! I moved to San Diego 13 years ago after living in VA, PA, CT and OH!!!

All right, I'll go now, gonna finish my ironing.

A.S.

WHAT!:scared1: How could you pass up an opportunity like that!

I completely agree Carol! Argghhh.

Oh and the weekend went way too fast because I only had saturday off...I worked overtime today 8-4. At least I am not working a double tomorrow!

Morning Divas. I am finally starting to feel better. Still not good, but better at least. And I have a million errands to run today. UGH! Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Glad you are feeling better!

Hello ladies,

I just wanted to tell you that our beloved dog Daisy of 11 years was killed yesterday by one of our trucks.:sad1: She was getting on in years, and was somewhat deaf, and laying in the sun right in front of one of the trailer wheels. She didn't even hear the truck start up I guess. :sad2:

Our other dog that we just got last month whose name is Bella, is so sad. She was going crazy looking all over for Daisy. She howled last night for her.
They're both beautiful Weimaraners. My oldest son also has one. Her name is Kate. When they were all here together we called them the Three Caballerros, or sometimes the Three Stooges.

Dave and I have been together for over 33 years, and Daisy was our best dog we've ever had. I am sad. :sad1:

Melody - I am so sorry! It is like loosing a family member. Hugs.

Good morning girls!
I just can't get rid of this cough. The good news is that I lost 2 more pounds yestereday, so at least I have that going for me.
Marty left at 5:00 this morning to go with one of his brothers and a friend to build an igloo and camp in it tonight. So not my idea of fun!

I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Whatever we've got just keeps hanging on.

I hope you are feeling better and congrats on the ticker!

I did my taxes last night, I'm so excited. I did this when I saw my refund. :scared1:

I got my braces adjusted on Thursday and I've been in so much pain since. It's miserable. I can't even chew! :sad1:

Yay for the taxes! Sorry about the brace pain...I remember those days all too well. Ugh!

Hey we were in Camarillo today at the Van outlet store. I thought of you since we were close to your part of 'town'!

Good morning and Happy Monday and MORE importantly Happy February 1st!!! Yeah!!! The month of our trip has arrived. In a way it has gone really fast to be honest! I mean it seems like just yesterday we went on the last one! I can't WAIT! SOOO excited!

And yes this is going to be a MUCH better year I know it. Things are DEF going to be better no matte what!

I agree the weekends seem to go WAY too quickly but part of the problem is we always have so much going on. With all the sports and stuff it makes it hard but that is one reason I am so glad we are just doing basketball and not soccerstill because our entire saturday would be booked and I am glad that once the b-ball game is done (which is right across the street from our house and the VERY latest the games can be is noon) we are DONE and back home! Plus the last game is March 6th and although we start swim PRACTICE in April we won't have any meets till May so we will get a break from anything on the weekends for a few months anyway!

Yesterday we went to church and it was nice but they are starting to take stuff down and it is pretty depressing. The pastor's son-in-law did the sermon and although I like him as a person neither shane NOR I enjoy his sermon's. They are random and not focused and he doesn't explain stuff very well and a lot of the older people don't like him much either. I told my uncle who goes to the later traditional service that he was preaching and he said had he known that he wouldn't have come LOL. He is a nice guy and all just kind of "out there" if you know what I mean and our pastor is such a wonderful preacher it is going to be hard to hear anyone else. I told Shane if Wes takes over when we move and Mike retires then that may seal the deal for us and we may move to our friends church. I HATE to leave our friends but it seems already that the girls may be out Awana. They haven't had it since Dec and I haven't heard any word about whether or not it is going to start back up in Feb and it is SUPPOSED to run through June but since they are moving who knows! Katy never even finished her first book. This makes me really sad because it is such a good program for them and I don't know if my friends church has a youth program for the elementary group. Our church also has a ministry for the older kids 7-12th as do most churches but this has been such a blessing and I really hate to have the girls lose this. Oh well there is stil some time we shall see!

Anyway today I am off to work and hopefully mom and I can get some stuff done for the trip! I REALLY enjoyed the sun but alas it is supposed to rain again all week. BOO!

I am actually excited about this month! All you losties, Tomorrow night baby!! Can't wait!!!! And survivor starts again in a week! Plus superbowl is sunday and mom always has a party so I am looking forward to that and then next weekend is my anniversary/valentines day and although things have not been that great lately with Shane and I we have been getting along "ok" and I am just looking forward to getting out of the house and going to dinner and a movie. We are still just trying to get along for the sake of the girls and we haven't fought at all since things hit the fan in Dec. I am still not thrilled about everything but as I said I am doing what I feel I need to do to keep my girls with me and we are getting along well enough so as long as that lasts it is fine. Our relationship is on more of a friendship level at this point and honestly that is FINE with me!

Anyway then the week after valentines the girls have the week off for President's week and I hope to take them to the zoo and possibly a movie so I am looking forward to spending some time with them and then it will just about be time for our trip!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and ttyl!

Good morning girls!

In news about me, I can't shake this cough, and I'm not happy about it.

Now, back to you.

I'm sorry Tina about your cough. I've had a runny nose and cough for about 4 months now. I think it's just part of me at this point. I hope you feel better soon. I don't really feel bad, mine is just allergies.

Today is Nolan's birthday! However, he and Nathan are both sick. Fever, runny noses, and coughs. If they are not better, I'll take them in tomorrow to see the doctor. They never get sick, and have only ever had one ear infection, so I don't think it's anything too serious.

So, it's just going to be a relaxing day around here.

Happy Birthday Nolan!

Heather & Tina - I hope you are both feeling better soon.

Do you guys have Red Box in CA? That's where we get all our movies. All rentals are a dollar, even new releases. I love it. We haven't rented from a Blockbuster or Hollywood Video since we moved here and discovered Red Box.

I love Red Box! This is the only place we rent movies from now. I like how you can reserve it online and when you get to the box just swipe your CC and you get the movie!

Have you ever tried the Soy chorizo? (called Soyrizo) It's just as tasty, but better for you. I buy it from Walmart, but our Walmart has a full grocery store in there so I'm not sure if it's sold at all of them. Ruben's mom first told me about it and I really think it tastes the same.

DBF and I LOVE this! We have make Soyrizo and eggs for people who come over and they don't even know that it's not real chorizo! We get it at Albertson's.

I am glad to hear someone I actually know endorse Soyrizo. I always wanted to try it (I like using veggie/soy products when I can), but wanted to make sure it tasted good. Glad to hear you like it and its tastey. I will have to pick up some.

I second that, it's good! :thumbsup2

My Wal Mart has a full grocery store also, but I haven't seen the Soy chorizo.

Check in the produce section.

We tried the one from Trader Joes but didn't like it as much as the one I got at Albertson's.

This is the one we get:

I wish they'd sell them that way here in Calif. I have my order in and now I have to wait wait wait.:sad1:

They'll be here on the 23rd!

After all the talk of it over the weekend, I had to go buy some and make it on Sunday. LOL The one they sell at Walmart here is called Reynaldo's Soyrizo. I've only ever used that brand so I can't compare it to others, but it is really good. :thumbsup2

Good morning ladies!!! Am I the only one who REALLY didn't want to get out of bed this morning?? :sad2:
I guess my body is already wanting to be on vacation because I am just so lazy and the thought of cleaning and doing laundry is even more unappealing than usual. :rolleyes1

Heather, I hope your kiddos feel better soon. And you too Tina!

Meet and Greet "ice breaker" game:
In order to put this game together, Jane needs some information from all of you. Please PM, Facebook or email her 3 facts about yourself that no one else (or very few) in the group already know. These can range from serious to silly and don't have to be life shattering revelations. Examples could include things like the fact that you have a tattoo, the kind of music you enjoy, a hobby or activity that you have participated in, or a funny story that you would like to share.

Please send the information to her with your screen name, your real name and the three facts in this format by February 1st.

Cheshiregirl/Jane
1. I have a tattoo of the sun with a shamrock on my lower back.
2. I met Guy Fieri while waiting in the single rider line of Toy Story Mania last year.
3. In high school I took the oath of initiation into National Honor Society with the wrong hand raised in front of an auditorium filled with over 800 people including my (very proud) parents.

She will then use some of the information to put together a "get to know you" game that you all will enjoy!
Thanks in advance for your help and your willingness to share!!

Youza!

:scared1: That sounds horrible! You poor thing! I wouldn't even be able to eat or talk to do anything. Ouch!!!

Oh, remember when they put the wires on? They were all sticking out of my mouth until they cut them and pushed the ends down.

:rotfl: Ouchies!

Oh, and Courtney--make up goddess...maybe you can give me some makeup advice at the meet...pajama party fodder? I haven't quite mastered mascara, lipstick/eye shadow, forget about it!!

A.S.

Amy Sue darling, you are a celebrity! :cool2:

And yes! I will be more than happy to help you! Just bring what you have and we'll have a makeup session! :woohoo:

Yay for the taxes! Sorry about the brace pain...I remember those days all too well. Ugh!

Hey we were in Camarillo today at the Van outlet store. I thought of you since we were close to your part of 'town'!

Hiya Vicki! Aww, I'm happy you thought of me! :cloud9: You're coming this Saturday, yes?!

I had a soyrizo burrito from Trader Joe's this morning. It was sooo good! :hippie:

A quick birthday update....Nolan was NOT too sick to eat his smores that we made for his birthday breakfast. I think he'll make it! :thumbsup2
