Girls Only~ OLD THREAD, new one linked in first post

Oh for those of you ladies who are coffee drinkers and want more variety than the Columbian coffee cups that the Hojo offers, I have a box of the cups in breakfast blend, Newman's Own Organics Special Blend, Hazelnut and Extra Bold Dark Magic. I bought a box in December, they were on sale for $9 at Kohls and I had a $5 off coupon. If they're on sale again, I'll get a different box. The Hojo gift shop sells them for $1 each. So anyone who wants some coffee, I'm your girl!

I like making my coffee in the to-go cups the Hojo has (with lids!) and walking with my coffee to the parks! :thumbsup2

What kind of machines do the HoJo have? (This is my first time staying there.) Are the the Keurigs?

That's so nice of you, Courtney! I'll be hitting you up, for sure. You and your momma are in Building 2, right? If so, hopefully we'll be neighbors!

Building 2 it is! :goodvibes

Good thing it wasn't something worse than a tripped breaker though!

And YES for the group ride on ToT, I wonder how long the line will be, since we have reservations at CC a little later...

Me! Pick Me!!! Tell me when they go on sale and I'll get some, too. I have a gift card that I could use and pick up 2-3 of them! And they have Kohl's cash right now, don't they?

I just looked online and they're $9.99.

And now that I'm thinking more clearly, I guess that would be a little difficult for me to carry on the plane! DUH!

If you want you can ship them to my house! We're driving, so it's no problemo. Oh and yes Kohls is having cash right now!

Yes mam'. They're fancy!

Hmmm, I wonder how long they're on sale... I would be better just ordering them online because if I go in the store, I always buy WAY TOO MUCH!!! But I also need to get to $50 to get the Kohl's Cash... Too much thinking!!

I'm trying to decide if I'm even bringing shampoo and conditioner since Hojo's has them...
I was wondering about the shampoo and conditioner at HoJo - is it a good kind? I am trying to decide whether or not I need to bring any.

Tell me about the coffee at HoJo. Is it the individual cup coffee maker style? I like Columbian but I need about 3 cups before I leave the room. Do they give you extra or do you need to purchase it?

Yay for Building 2! I hope we will all be close together. I have never stayed at HoJo but Bldg. 2 looked like the best for me.

I found a car rental deal from LGB for $62 for 4 days! That is so great because the cheapest transportation to/from there is $45 each way for 2 people. Usually renting a car can be a hassle if you are not going to be driving much but at LGB it seems so easy and if you drive straight down the road east from the airport you run right into Disneyland. It takes a few more minutes than the freeway but might be worth it since I am not used to the freeway system there. I am actually looking forward to it and we can stop at a store if we want to get anything for the room.

I have really been NOT liking my job lately and have kind of been looking for something else. Today I decided that I want to try to be out of there by the end of March and so am going to really try looking harder for a new job. Of course it could take a long time to find something but I need to make a change. I am thankful that I have a job, but I am making the same money I was 10 years ago and need to move on if I can.

Have a great night!

I say all the ride wimps do a group Monsters ride after drawing then, or a group Soarin' ride. Although Tina, your offer to hold your bag is the best one I've received yet! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Okay, just so I got this right: Lunch at Ariels, then drawing, then a group ride on TOT or Monsters, right?

Ummmmmm, do they serve alcoholic beverages at Ariels? That would be, well, mandatory, if I'm going to ride TOT. I wonder if they have to-go cups.

But it turns out it was a breaker, so for $69, he flipped a switch.

Yay, it was just a breaker!

But.....okay, that is a little funny. :rolleyes1

Those trying to avoid luggage fees - if there is something I can get you here and bring it to the M&G, just let me know. Capri, you mentioned facial cleaner and Diet Pepsi (which I already got), anything at all just ask. Why give the airline an extra $50 if we can work it out between us Divas?

You are so sweet and thoughtful!

I always buy too much at Kohl's too. It's terrible. :headache:

Or maybe you can take the little cups out of the box it comes in and put them in a gallon size baggie so it's easier to spread out in your suitcase, kwim?

I always bring my own shampoo and conditioner. The bottles at the Hojo are orange. And that's all I know, :confused3 :rotfl:

The coffee makers they are those single cup ones. You put a little pod of coffee stuff in it and fill it with water and stick your cup in and it fills it up. It takes less than 3 minutes I think. The Hojo provides paper cups with plastic lids and they have sugar (or sweet'n'low), powder creamer and stirrers.

I stayed in Building 2 for the first time in December and it was soooo quiet. I loved it. We stayed in Building 1 the year before and the super cool thing was we had a perfect view of the Matterhorn from our window. But I can sacrifice that for $10 cheaper.

Yay for the car rental! :woohoo:

I'm sorry about your job. I hope your hunt for a new one goes well and you find something soon. Being at a poopy job is terrible. *thumbs down*

Carol - the shampoo and creme rinse (and bar soaps) are called "Mandarin & Mint" by Bliss. I classify them this way:

Good enough that I don't need to bring my own from home, but not so good that I steal them from the maids cart!:rotfl: But they do smell really good

And I hear ya about the job thing. I actually make LESS now than I did ten years ago but moving from OC to the Inland Empire is responsible for a lot of it and plus my job now is less managerial and not very stressful. But I miss the big bucks.:thumbsup2

I never used the coffee pot last year. I didn't want to wake Becci up.
I am brining powder creamer so I may have to buy some coffee from you.

Geesh I think I am all set, coffee from Courtney, Theresa's shower for the girls that fit 50 in a room. :cutie: Oh and I have free drinks on SW from Jen!

oh crud I still need to reserve my way back to the airport.

You got it! And yes, they do sell cocktails at Ariels.

Carol, that's a great rate for the rental car! And the drive is an easy one. You'll be fine.

No buying. Sharing between divvvvasss! :hippie:

I think we're going to bring some liquid flavor-y creamer.

Deb - I always bring those individual sized Vanilla liquid creamers.
If you (or anyone) would like a few, just let me know. Like Courtney, I share.:goodvibes

I'm gonna have to hit one of you girls up for some creamer! I like the yummy flavored ones!

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to catch an Aladdin show since it will be ending in August, it is not on the schedule for Saturday or Sunday so I am planning to jump over to DCA on Thursday after Rancho/POC to catch the 4:15 show and maybe a ride or two before heading to the M&G if anyone wants to join me.

I really need to get to bed now. Woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.

Of course we share!! We're NICE Divas!!

I asked Katie to pick up some creamer for our room, and a case of water bottles. Other than that, I can't think of anything else...

No time to comment on everything that I want to, but I will say that I love Natalie and I love that you are sticking with the "N" names. If we ever have another one if it's a boy we will likely name him Timothy James (for my daddy and best friend respectively) and call him TJ. Last week I dreamed that we had a little girl and named her Thea, although I have NO idea where that came from and since my aunt is visiting I know that it's not my subconscience at work.

Anyhow, lots of yucky stuff happening in the budget shortfalls within the state, but nothing is officially happening yet--it's all just speculation. But, they are talking about potential of salary cuts of 20% across the board, laying off around 1300 people and/or the higher education system declaring bankruptcy. Right now it's just a waiting game, but Dave did get his resume turned in for the job that he is applying for today, so that's a first step in the right direction.:thumbsup2

And so, I'm off to finish packing for the Cultural Leadership Retreat that I am facilitating this weekend. We leave right after lunch tomorrow and will be back on Sunday around 4-5 pm. I am sure that I will end up spending most of the Super Bowl catching up on the thread and Facebook as I will be completely disconnected all weekend long.

Have a great rest of the week and weekend everyone!!!

It is so much fun reading everything now. :goodvibes

Everyone is really starting to kick it in gear, and get it all together. Even down to the shampoo and coffee! :thumbsup2

Capri, I really hope your Dad will be OK for a long long time. I will keep him in my prayers.

I'm glad you guys reminded me that Callie was in Hawaiii.......totally forgot. I hope her Mom is OK.

Heather, Natalie is a beautiful name for a baby girl. Is it pretty sure? :cool1:

Beth, like Donna said. My ears are plugged and I'm saying "la la la la la la la.........."

Carol, hope that job is out there for you! :thumbsup2

Tina, Glad the dryer wasn't serious! I got a chuckle out of your story though. LOL!!

My DD Kaitlyn is going to Fiji in July on a mission trip. My baby....:guilty: My son Derrick did one when he was 20 to the Phillipines. He was gone for 4 months on a MERCY ship that went into the smaller islands to help the islander's medical issues. He even helped do a circumcision one time. Another time they went down a river to a real remote area. They had to have the army with them to protect them. Dear Mom did not know this at the time..........thanks goodness. The ship also had pirate drills, just in case.:sad2: The organization was called YWAM. Some of you might know about this program. All in all, it was a great experience, but I was sure glad to have him home. Kaitlyn is doing her with an organization called Students International, and will only be gone for 2 weeks. Those are going to two REALLY LONG weeks. But this Mom has to have faith that she will be fine. :littleangel:
