Girls Only Disneyland Trip - Old Thread

Is anyone coming down early on Thursday - in time for lunch? I'll be there and I would love to go to Ariel's for lunch. I would never get to go otherwise. My usual DL buddy is my DS - who is 13 and therefore way too cool to go to a princess lunch!!

Let me know.......


PS - I've asked to be put on an "nonathletic team" as well. No way am I running around......

I think I might becoming early on Thursday or Wednesday night. I might spend the day bumming around San Diego or LA. But if not I would go there for lunch.

How awesome! Maybe you can make steak with baked potato, and a salad. It has been awhile since I have dated. I make DH dinner but I don't think too much about it. Just throw some food on a plate and call it good.

Now I am trying to decide if I should fly or drive! Flying from Northern CA seems like a hassle. But I will probably have to rent a car if I drive since I will need to leave our mini-van with my sister for her to shuttle my kids around everywhere! What airport is the easiest/cheapest when coming from the Bay Area?

Well I might need a roommate. I have not heard from mine in months. She was supposed to make the room ressies.

You should fly - there are great deals. I saw $169 return LAS to LAX. I am the biggest wuss about flying (ask my DS and DH!!) and I am flying all by myself (for the first time in my life, I might add ). You can do it!!! And then you could come to Ariel's for lunch - you know you wanna



Are the other people from Las Vegas flying or driving?? Maybe car pool????

Ugh, been there, did the flying alone thing. I just hate to fly. And since I'm not that far away, it's almost quicker to drive it once you factor in the hassle of checking in early at the airport and waiting for your bags, etc.
There are two other ladies (Jane and Amy) coming from Vegas, but I'm not sure what they are doing. I think they are flying......but I can't recall.

I checked as well, and there shouldn't be any black out days for the deluxe. I think AmySue has a SoCal pass which I know has more black out dates.

Beth, why don't you drive your hubby's Jeep to Disneyland since he'll be using the minivan while you're gone?

I have a crocs question. How do I know what size I should get? I wear a 9. I ahd the Crocs Capri flip flops that I loved but I left them in my car and they shrunk. I want to try the regular ones but they have 2 sizes on one. Also aren't there ones with just one size?

Sarah: yes the "basic" croc comes in a two-size --I normally wear an 8 1/2 and the 8-9 fits me fine. I like the 9 in the "one-size" crocs--they're supposed to be a bit loose. I have found it best to try them on.

Welcome to the new additions. I'm happy to see that our group is growing.

In regards to the scavenger hunt: I am not going to promote running at Disneyland, walking is hard enough. As far as the teams go, I believe Dawn, Melody and I will be choosing the teams, I might be wrong on that though, but don't worry we will take into account who isn't Disney crazy and who is.

Cheryl and Stacie: I'm gonna try to head out of town at, hopefully, 2PM. So that will put me there at around 8 or 9. If I can sneak out of work earlier, I will.

I had a dream/nightmare that I was on the tower of terror last week. (Remember that I'm a ride weenie!) Stacie was sitting beside me putting on lipstick in my dream. I passed out after the 2nd drop, and woke up in goofy's lap. I can't believe I forgot to tell you all this. Once Stacie had her 'face' fixed, she drug me over to a bench and told me to sit until Callie was done smoking. Anyone care to analyze that one????

I have so gosh darn busy! You'd think for being laid off I would have tons of time to just loaf around the house- I wish!!

I just realized that the week my mom made plans to come and visit me from Las Vegas plops right in during the ladies weekend. So we might gain an extra lady with us lol.

I'm trying to work out the logistics of it since the wife and I are both signed up for the VIP tour and alas she isn't! But it should be fine who knows, she might want to take it easy that day after all the other running around we'll do earlier that week (she's never been to LA or San Diego, so she wants to do both, luckily I live halfway between the two I guess!) I'll be ready to drop by the time the week is over LOL.

Well, you have a month and a half to learn how to drive it.

Seriously, it's really easy once you get the hang of it. It only took me about a week or so to feel very comfortable driving a stick. And since you guys own one (and just for safety sake during those "what if ______ happens"), you really should know how to drive one.

Either that or have DH cram 3 kids in the back of the Jeep, one kid rides shotgun......and you take the minivan. Kids are very pliable.....they'll fit in the Jeep one way or another for a few days.

Cathy emailed me earlier and said she'd call me later today. That seems kinda funny, huh?.......she emailed me earlier to tell me she'll call me later.

They have a size print-out on the crocs website. Might help. Otherwise go to a store to try them on.

Having husbands or parents teach us things like that is never a good idea.

Hire someone to show you. Or is your oldest driving yet? The oldest is a boy, right? Have him teach you.

Or go to San Diego and my brother will teach you. My dad and then stepdad tried to teach me and it did not go well at all. My mom knew not to try b/c she knew it would be bad...she'd paid out of pocket for driving lessons for me, because I had a late birthday and wouldn't be getting school lessons untli after I could already get my permit by age.

Then my brother took me out, and in about 2 hours time I was an expert. He should hire himself out. If you picture the main character from Burn Notice, and how unemotional he is and how that could help in teaching stick shift, you've just pictured my brother.
