Does anyone know anything about the Napa Rose Lounge? I've never spent much time in the GCH so I was checking out allears menus to see what they have to eat there and came across a listing for that.

Actually I was thinking of doing some exploring in the GCH on the way back from the DVC tour. I know some ladies are doing the late night dessert at BB but I'll be eating there once already that day, so I'm going to skip that.

Anyway, I saw a listing for the lounge and was wondering if anyone has been in there?

Hey Beth, I'd love to go to the lounge with you. I was going to get a cocktail or a glass of wine or something after the DVC tour anyway, and the lounge at the GCH sounds perfect! A quiet place for evening dessert and cocktail sounds wonderful.

By the way, I bought my white t-shirt today that I'm going to Tink-up.

I also bought a cute little Tink backpack.

I'm getting organized........and getting EXITED!

Anyway, I'd like to spend some time exploring, and a drink and dessert sounds nice. We'd still have time for the park afterward since it's open till midnight too.

Do you know anything about the lounge? I called to make sure it was open until ten and she said yes, it's attached to the restaurant so it has the same hours. But does that mean you have to be dressed up?
Those Napa Rose desserts all sound so good!

That Napa Pick me up sounds really good!! As does the Pastry Chef's Assortment...but shoooo-eeee! That is a lot of dessert!

Just a side note...
We have had cocktails and dessert at Napa Rose and while they are very good, they are pretty small portions. The presentation will WOW you though. It is very relaxing and elegant in there. Not fancy elegant, but like a "step above"'; if you will. And the service is top notch. And you don't have to dress up, we always wear park attire, but no flip flops, tank tops or hats. You know what I mean. You gals all have class.

You guys are funny with your marriage vs. dating comments. In my 30's I often thought about having an exciting, new relationship or trying to keep ours more exciting. I could never, ever cheat, but honestly I did think about "what if...". Now in my late 40's, my DH is my BFF and I cannot imagine life without him. I love our time together and relish the normal and routine things. If I think about another man, I crinkle my nose and think "yukko - blech!". Maybe it has to do with stages in our lives as most of you are younger than I. Just thinking out loud...

Well it looks like I got the job I was meeting about today! Appetizers for 300 or so people at the end of March. It is a fundraiser for a communtiy service group in the South Bay Area that provides rotating shelters for men, low-cost housing for women and children, and food pantries where people can just pick up whatever they need to get by. They are having former Cirque du Soliel performers do a show, aps from us, and dessert from somebody else. We're actually looking into doing a cany buffet--Thanks Beth!!!!!
Now the fundraisers need to do their job, and the event should be a great success!

Although it can be fun. It stinks having to always be your best. At least when you are married or in a relationship, you can burp, look a mess, and he will still want to be with you.

Or even if he doesn't really want to be with you it's harder to get rid of you! And let's face it, most guys are lazy and won't take the time to get rid of you.

Thanks for the information on the Napa Rose lounge. It sounds really nice. And quite frankly probably the closest I'll get to eating at Napa Rose, just because the actual menu didn't thrill me (I'm too picky/weird) but the desserts sounded so yummy.

I must be older at heart then because I feel the same way. If for some reason I found myself single again (Heaven forbid!) I would not want to date. At all. Who needs all the formality of it. I hate that. Plus I suck at small talk so I'd just happily turn into an old maid.
As it is, I am happy with my honey just the way we are.

Oh, good! The nice thing is we don't need reservations to sit at the lounge. I asked. So who ever wants to join us for dessert and a drink is welcome to! So far it's you, Capri and myself.
Looks like between Napa Rose and Blue Bayou we are all going to be too sugared up to sleep that night!!

Cheryl, I swear I am not exaggerating. Check my closet, it is full of 2X and 3X. Only recently have the 2X's started to fit, and some still don't.

Linda! Before I finished reading your post I happened to glance over and noticed your two new tags. Well, I didn't know if they were new or if I'd missed them before. I was making a mental note to ask you when I read the rest of your post. LOL!
Congrats! How fun. And yes, the tag fairy rocks!!! I hope some of us get some more awesome tags like after the last trip. That was so fun.
