The weird part though was almost no one took Amex, so he only could chose from a few shops hahaha!

I could have caused so much damage in the mall, Amex or not! So many shops!

If I remember correctly, Amex was the sponsor for the mall gift cards several years ago. But there was some type of falling out?? Can't find the info in a quick search.. anyway.. Interesting to hear he had problems, not good for business tourism.

Hi Heather. I don't have a roomie and I don't mind if you want to bunk in with me for Thursday night. Let me know if you still need a room..........

Yes I do!! Feel free to PM me! I am nice and not scary :)

This was quite a few years ago, so it probably changed. It was hard since it was his business card and they were covering everything. I have to say I want to see the water park they have! It seems so neat.

It's fun but, to me, it's just another mall. :p
Great for mall walking :thumbsup2

Phase II looks to be a great expansion if they can get all the funding in place. Water park, ice rink, 3 hotels, skywalk to IKEA will be a great asset. (It's across the street..brrrrr)

Keep in mind, enclosed malls got there start in MN. We have many malls in the metro area.

I have a lot of family in MN (Shakopee, St. Louis Park, Minnetonka, etc.) so I have visited at least 8-10 times since MOA opened, and I think it's lots of fun, but at the end of the day, it is just a mall. Granted it's a mall with an amusement park, a mini golf course and an aquarium. But, it sounds like the expansion would add a lot of fun new details!

I haven't been in about 4 years, but one of my favorite restaurants of all time was Cafe Odyssey in the MOA and I also loved the General Mills Cereal Bar and all the yummy snacks that you could buy! It's so sad that they are gone now :guilty:

So far the only water park in the area is at a hotel across the highway.
The water was cold :sad2:, had fun for one day. Not sure I will go back for what they charge for day passes.

There is one planned as part of Phase II, lined up with Great Wolf Lodge.

The Edmonton Mall (Canada) has a beach/water park. Wouldn't mind seeing that.. or errrr I should say my hubby wants to see it :lmao: :rotfl2:
:beach:

Wow I was gone today and just caught up.

Way to go Jen on your marathon. I'm sure you're quite sore right now.

Just wanted to say Hi to you everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. We went to a Super Bowl get together and had a nice evening.

I have a huge test tomorrow, if I do well on it I'll receive a promotion. I won't find out the results until June though.

Alright I need to get some sleep for tomorrow.

Take care, talk to you all tomorrow.

Steph

I've been to the West Edmonton Mall a looooong time ago (I was 16....) It was a lot of fun. There is an entire indoor beach, wave pool, skating rink - tons to do, especially when you're a teenager :thumbsup2

Yes he does!
He teaches 7th and 8th grade science at a K-8 performing arts magnet school in Minneapolis.
We are thankful he has a job, landing a teaching job in MN is difficult due to the amount of competition from more experienced teachers. This is his second year teaching, we lived in California last year..moved back to MN because we missed our family.
Being an "older" (35) inexperienced teacher is a little bit tougher in the job market. But it CAN happen, takes a little more effort to shine and convince administration that you are an excellent choice!

I'm impressed with those who choose middle school teaching, I know I couldn't handle it. :scared:

:goodvibes

I was a substitute teacher for a while--my favorites were 5th, 6th and 7th graders. they were old enough to be able to do something on their own--but still little enough to be scared of the teacher!!! LOL (those high school kids were SCARY :scared1: :scared1: )

Steph--best of luck on the test--I'm sure you'll do GREAT! :thumbsup2

Exactly!

mmmmmmmm I miss Cafe Odyssey. That was fun to bring guests and had good food too!

:sad1:

I spent the day at DL today. It seemed weird to not be able to park hop, but was with someone who was using the second day of a twofer...and had never been to DL.

We arrived earlyish, not rope drop, but hit the parking lot right before 9, then left at 5:45.

The park seemed crowded, but lines were not bad. We used some FPs, but mostly standby. So did Astro Blasters, Space x 2, Indy, Matterhorn, Toad, Alice, steam boat, the train, PoTC, Pooh, BTMR, and the canoes of all things!!!! I'd never did the canoe before, and I don't think I ever noticed them in the water before. Have I been blind?
We also did the Sleeping Beauty walk-thru and Honey I shrunk, oh and Tarzan's tree. (dang DD8)

A good day!!! I've been the last two weekends, and don't think that I will go again until our trip!!! One Sunday I need to stay home and, clean or something!!

I may have seen Michelle as we were leaving, but in a crowd, and I had to go so didn't stop! How rude, I know, but with my debacle thinking someone last week was Stacie, I didn't really want to go there today.

The young woman I took with me had an awesome time!! I think she was taking notes on how to do the FP system.

Have a good week.

I agree. There were two Cafe Odyssey restaurants--MOA and Denver and sadly both closed.

Of all the theme restaurants that I have eaten at (and it seems like I have been too them all :lmao: ) Odyssey definitely had the best food to go along with the exotic locale!

And yet, places like Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe and Rainforest Cafe continue to thrive despite what I consider to be sub par food.

I still like the print I bought out of the series.. I will scan it later. I broke out laughing as he smooched me and CLICK the photographer got it ! .. it's sooooooooo cute!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Oh I am so sad!!! The Cardinals lost!!! :guilty: And they actually had a chance, and then blew it. :confused3 Oh well, at least they were there, unlike all of the other teams except the Steelers!

I do still have a room under my name, if anyone is still looking for a room; it's Thursday-Monday, but that can be changed. Please PM me if you're interested and I can have Lorealle change the name on it.

Yup the walk through is back open! I only vaguely remember the original since it had been forever since I last did it but I was very impressed! I just did it on Thursday. Some people seemed confused by it and raced through but I took my time and WOW! there was so much to see in each display! It was cool!

Funnygarcia- that picture is so cute!

You just made my night...I am so excited! :cheer2:

Just got home a little while ago....
After Stacie and her DD left us, Zoe and I and Dawn (fairykin) and her DH went on Monsters Inc and Muppets. Then we wandered around the shops at DCA for a little while then headed over to DL. Over there we jumped on the train and headed to Pooh corner. We went on Pooh, then wandered around the Pooh store, then got fast passes for BTMR for Zoe and I. Then we walked over to Tony Romas for dinner. After dinner, Dawn and Bob headed on the shuttle back to their hotel. Zoe and I went on BTMR, and I hurt my back! Grrr. I'm in so much pain. Normally I don't have any sort of problem, but I just wrenched wrong and in the way lower of the back got hurt.
I loved Wine Country Trattoria! I had never been there before. I had the caprese sandwich and loved it. I was a bit disappointed by the children's choices, though Zoe really liked her lunch. Just weren't alot of options. And, it's a bit dissapointing not having creme brulee or cheesecake options for dessert, but the orange sorbet that Dawn ordered was really really good.
I was looking for Amy, but never saw her.
Thank you to Dawn, Bob, Stacie and her DD for helping out and being so welcoming to Zoe. She was a bit of a handful today, not naughty, just rambunctious, so challenging. Everyone was just great to her.
We got some great things planned for the pizza dinner, and everything has been delegated, so we should be great!

Robert stole a drink ticket for a NON-ALCOHOLIC drink? What was he thinking? (and yes, it was Chris-Califgirl that you met)

Well since he doesn't really drink, it made sense for him...

hmm, except for GRR. I like it, it doesn't like me. Rather my skin and GRR do not agree. I break out in a horrible itchy rash from the water in GRR.

I got the same horrid rash on my shins during our last trip. Lasted well after the trip ended. Yowch. Next time I think I'm plastic-wrapping my lower legs.

Just wanted to say hello. I hope some of you remember me from years past.

I do remember you! How are you?

Just like the other ladies said...look for a large group of women with matching shirts and lime green mickeys somewhere on their bodies.:rotfl: And the Tink lanyards!:thumbsup2

And at least one with lime green mickey ears...I sooooo want to get those.
