Girls Only Disneyland Trip - Old Thread

Welcome back Stacie!!

So as if it wasn't bad enough that I had to cancel my birthday trip to Disneyland next week, I now get to work an extra 4 hours everyday next week. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it just feels like rubbing salt in my wound. Oh well, I need the extra hours to pay my car insurance bill. I never fail to stop breathing every time I open that sucker up. :faint:

I got my shirts last night. I got a short sleeve and a long sleeve. The short sleeve is a mens, because I hate my arms and the mens shirts cover them pretty well. The long sleeve is a womens and it doesn't fit all that well and is really thin. I guess they thought we were going to be doing a wet t-shirt contest or something. I'm with Sarah, no way will I be wearing it on Splash.

I love Baby Boom! I've seen that movie so many times. I love Diane Keaton.

I hope everyone is having a great morning!

I have a question and hopefully someone can help me out. I think I need to get a pay as you go US cell phone (not just for this trip - but for when I come down with my son and his friend as well, to keep in touch). If I use my Canadian cell phone, the bill is huge as everything is long distance - calling me or me calling anywhere.

Does anyone know how to go about that? Do I need one from Anaheim to get a local number to use?

I can change my own cell phone plan to a North American plan, but anyone calling me would be dinged long distance charges......
Sorry Theresa, I am clueless about all that.
Why not try asking on the Canadian planning board and I'm sure someone there will have the answer: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19
There is already a thread on there about cell phone use in WDW. Maybe some of the info there would be helpful. Good luck!

Hey gals I am here at work but wanted to say I stopped at the po box on my way in and I FINALLY got my shirt and it looks perfect. I orderd the long sleeve fitted in XL and it looks great. Even a little big so that is good!
:cool1: Yay, glad you got it and it looks good!

Come on you guys! How the heck are we supposed to get discounts and freebies from the male CMs if none of you are willing to wear your wet t-shirts??

OK, I'll wear it with my lacey black bra, mini skirt and hooker boots.

OK, that's more like it. And can you please make sure to wear the Hooker Red nail polish as well. I'd like a free corndog, a discount at any of the stores on Main Street, and to ride POTC and HM twice without having to get off and wait in line again.
Show some leg and make it happen would ya? :thumbsup2

I'll see what I can do. :thumbsup2

Oh, and for more sales, Disney Shopping have their tshirts on sale for $4.99 now. Who needs to work while there's online shopping.

Thanks for the tip! I just ordered 5 shirts for the family, although I could have bought way more if I had let myself!

Last year on the way to the first Girls trip I realized I forgot my cell phone so I ended up buying one of those pay as you go phones (they are quite inexpensive). The way they determine your cell phone is based on the zip code you enter when they ask for it. You could use Anaheim's zipcode or if you have another one in mind that should work too. You can get them Wal-Mart for around $20. HTH

Thanks - I think that's what I'll end up doing. They have pay as you go phones from Virgin Mobile for $9.99 and then you pay for minutes, no activation fee, so that sounds like it would work out best for us. My family can call from Canada because our home phone is unlimited North America (wish my cell phone was ) I just have to find out if they will ship a phone to me, or if I can ship it to Blaine, WA and pick it up there, or whether I have to make a trip to a Wal-Mart in Washington..... It'll work out though - yay!!

Ummm - nice boots, BTW.

OMG, those boots are something else. :rotfl: Very practical but I doubt she'll get us any free corndogs wearing those. ;)
Thanks for the tip on the tees. I'll have to check that out!

Ok, this is totally off topic, and I won't say what thread or who I'm talking about, but why, why, why do some people care what others do while on vacation????? Seriously, if I'm with my family and we are having fun, I could not care less what the person next to me is doing unless it's in some way THREATENING my family.
Other then that, to each their own. You do your thing and I'll do mine. I will never, ever understand why anyone cares what someone else does. Let it go. Mind your own business. It's not your family, you can't control their actions, they probably have their own reasons, so move on. Don't even give it a second thought.
It just amazes me that some people get so worked up over what others do. OK, rant over. Back to your normally scheduled thread viewing. :upsidedow

Been lurking in the Theme Parks forum?

Triplicate movies....you are a true collector if you're buying in triplicate. One to play with (watch, for movies), one to keep for posterity and "just in case", and one to think about selling someday. :)

Jerry Maguire...first movie I VIOLENTLY HATED. "had me at hello" I nearly barfed in the theater. omg I hated and hate that movie. What a horrid relationship! He's only sticking around 'cuz the kid's cute. I went to it with a friend and her not-quite-boyfriend (later on bf, then married, and now they are divorced b/c he decided that messing around with his law secretary wasn't boring, cheesy, and stereotypical enough to not do) and they of course LOVED the movie while I was trying not to bolt out of the door. I had wanted to see the Larry Flynt movie, and later on we did see that and it was MUCH much better.

OK rant on that much-beloved by everyone-but-ME movie over.

Blu-ray...fyi, it "up-converts" DVDs, which means it plays them and plays them in better quality, than a normal DVD player. So in the future, if someone gets one as a gift, keep it, even if you don't plan on playing blu ray in it, b/c your DVDs will be lovelier in it. Lesson from Robert. :)

:lmao: But it's so cheesy, ya gotta love it. And I have to be in the right mood for it. Maybe you weren't in the mood. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: I really like the sister in the movie. She makes it funny too.

I heard that about the Blu-ray but we also don't have any nice tvs. So we returned it to Costco, got the amount on a gift card, and we are saving that for someday when we do get a nice tv, we'll go back and get the nice DVD player to go with it. :thumbsup2 And in the meantime the Blu-ray DVDs are starting to come down in price so by then it won't be as bad.

I'm SO ready for it to be March!
Tell me about it!

I'm finally official! My mom has decided that she'd like to go on the girls trip, so I've booked plane tickets and a room at Hojos, all in about 10 minutes!:cool1:

I've been lurking about a bit, not wanting to make any real decisions, since I wasn't 100% sure I was going, so now I've got to play catch up.

I'm hoping to get the two of us into the Storytellers Breakfast and the Carnation Cafe Dinner. Should I PM those in charge of these meal?

We also want to do the DVC tour, so I'll PM Cheryl about that.

We're also in for the Pizza Party and I think the Scavenger Hunt, if there is still room.

I'm so excited to finally be confirmed, and I can't wait to meet you all!!

Yes, we must offer up the cute young ones in the group for us old fat gals. I'll let DD know that she must join Wendy in the crusade to help us out - HA!

Beth, I don't know which threads you mean, but sometimes I start reading one and it's hard to not get caught up in it. I have to stop myself sometimes and say "don't even go there, you will regret it". Was it on the DL board? We're usually pretty laid back and non judgemental over here.:)
