Hey Deb--8 years ago I had gastric bypass--lost 140 pounds and now have gained back about 50 or so. Never got "skinny" and although can't eat what I used to still eat the wrong things. :headache:

It is a constant struggle and one that I will have all my life. I went through a shopping addiction too--now I have a Disney addiction!!! Not sure which is cheaper!

I am sorry you've had so much in the way of illness--my BFF also had stomach cancer and had intestines and such removed--she is still overweight.

Oh, and in my gastric bypass I had internal bleeding and almost died. Other than that it was totally worth it--LOL.

Oh wow...that is scary. There was a lady here who her surgery was a wk before mine and she had a bleeding complication and died. After that I cancelled my surgery. Later rescheduled for July 4 months later. I was scared. I had an open RNY. So I have a lovely 15 inch scar across my tummy. Its beautiful...:rotfl:
It was the best $35,000 I have spent, well between my insurance & I.
Would I do it again? Yes. In a heart beat.
Tonight I will see if I can find before and after pictures. I still have my size 6 jeans, 8, 10, 12, 14...I love that I can still buy Silver brand jeans in a 16/18.

I still have a mild shopping addiction. But not nearly as bad. I still have teeny tiny clothes with tags on them, how sad is that?

There are tons of things I can't eat. Dairy nearly kills me. I didn't eat ice cream for 5 years & when I did I thought I was going to die...
Bread it was 4 years and then I swear I couldn't get enough.
But my friends love it. Because if I don't share food with someone, they get my left overs if they are still hungry.
My BFF one time we were at Olive Garden & I went to the bathroom came back she asked if she could have a bite of my Chicken Marsala and I said yes, then the waiter came by and asked if we needed boxes? She said yes. I was confused as her food was gone & I had barely eaten anything. She boxed up my food!!! :lmao: :headache:
She loves eating with me...
But it was probably the best thing I have ever done for my self....

Yup, Deb is under Melody's arm (hope it wasn't too stinky!!).

So #25 is Sarah, and there are 35 people in the pictures. In all of the Photopass pictures, Sarah is wearing a hat.

Not stinky at all. So I am laughing because it looks like she is trying to grab someones...well ya know....:rolleyes1

Big hugs to Deb & Cheryl. I had no idea.
Life always throws something at us, huh? For the record, I probably drink too much, too.

Love the pics Beth, you are SO PRETTY!

Stacey, let us know what is causing your itch.

Thanks. Yes, sometimes life throws you curve balls. I am a survivor. I am a single mommy, I have to be...:rotfl:

Just for the record, I know I drink too much....
PS I love the Raspberry Vodka you brought!! It is my fave!! :thumbsup2

Beth~ Love the pics!! See you are a HOT MOMMA!! You could be a cocktail girl!!

Well the good news/bad news of gastric bypass surgery (at least for me) is that alchohol hits you about three times faster--so one glass for me equals three glasses for all of you!! LOL I am the epitome of the "cheap date"!!!!

I hope no one is coming in at the last minute and seeing "let us know what is causing your itch" without knowing the background :rotfl2:

and Beth--I saw the comment on your tub picture before I scrolled down and saw you were "fully dressed"--:lmao: At first I thought--"wow--I can't believe Beth, who is camera shy anyway, would let Ruben take a pic while she was taking a bath (hopefully with bubbles for modesty's sake!)"

ok girls -- need advice.

I had bought plane tickets out of OC to Orlando for Mom and me for later this month. She cannot go now, so I am going alone (which if you will recall was the original plan). Our tickets are on US Airways, so I am trying to decide whether to (i) just fly on my ticket and then use hers and fly US Airways again later this year for the cruise (would have $150 change fee for her, I would need to buy another ticket), (ii) buy another ticket and save both tickets for later (in that case we would have two $150 change fees, but I can get a cheaper flight for me now)

I don't know why I'm having so much trouble with this. Ideas?

I am the same...."cheap date" hence why I got into so much trouble with date/non date guy...:rolleyes1
But after all I am an ANGEL princess:  so I couldn't have been that bad..:rolleyes1 :cool2:

I have a better solution..just take me...:lmao:

hmm...maybe just save the two tickets, but then later down the road is it going to be $300 to change both tickets or just $150?

I haven't seen any new tags yet. I'm keepin' my eyes on the tags though.:goodvibes

So after this weekend did anyone get any new tags? ;)

No... which is good considering some of the dumb things I said.

Maybe no one has whispered into the tag fairy's ears yet. So no one is safe yet.

Not stinky at all. So I am laughing because it looks like she is trying to grab someones...well ya know....:rolleyes1

It does look like that. Looks like she was getting fresh with Cheryl.

I had open RNY too. Molly and I had a long talk Sat. night and I told her all about it--it was a really scary situation. Mostly because it was at night and I had no one there to advocate for me. If it were not for the iCU nurse I would probably be dead today because my doc (despite being world-renowned) was IMO a doofus. It's so funny to me that so many of us share similar histories and experiences, in one way or another. Maybe that's why we all get along . . . . (to mis-quote Rodney King)

My issue is that there ISN'T anything I can't eat. I wish I was one of those who gets sick eating chocolate and such--but no. :headache: The only time I got sick is two or three months after the surgery I went to breakfast with a friend, had 1/4 waffle with some maple syrup and the maple syrup did me in. Haven't touched it other than sugar-free since. (but I bet I could eat it now). I also never started drinking soda again. Just didn't miss it. (Couldn't wait to get coffee again, however!)

Ex-DBF gained about 40 pounds during the three years we were together because he would eat his meal and then all of my leftovers. (Made me mad a lot of times because I wanted it the next day for lunch!)

I would just fly on your ticket, and then use her ticket for the cruise. That way you only have to pay one $150 change fee.

It would have to be one heck of a cheap flight for me to book now and save both tickets to use later, therefore racking up $300 in change fees.....$150 per ticket.

I have a better solution..just take me...:lmao:

hmm...maybe just save the two tickets, but then later down the road is it going to be $300 to change both tickets or just $150?

Michelle has already made that offer . . . . several times!!!! Actually, and this may sound selfish, I was originally looking forward to a "solo" trip, then felt guilty and decided to take Mom and now am somewhat happy that it is a solo trip again (except for the matter of this plane ticket thing.) It would be $300 later--but I'm also thinking that it's going to cost me more than $150 later to get another U.S. Airways ticket and if I can get a cheaper ticket now on another airline (prices are down since I originally booked) it would make sense to do that and switch both tickets later.

OK, I'm a little behind, but let me try to remember what I was gonna say...

Beth, I love that hotel room! It's so pretty. I wish I had someone to take me there! Camera shy my bottom!

Debra, no guy is worth the trouble so be done with him! Of course, you don't have to listen to me, but that's just my annoying two cents. ;)

Stacie F., sorry about your unknown skin condition! Maybe it's hives like I have. Hopefully it will go away soon. :goodvibes

mechurchlady (I'm so sorry I don't remember how to spell your name correctly! Is it Laurie?), I hope things get better for you soon! Sorry you missed the group picture in front of Disneyland. We did it right after Storyteller's, and if I remember correctly you weren't there for that breakfast. Don't take the nitpicking on the other thread to personally.

Jane, I love, love, love the CD! I think the Cheers Theme is perfect for our group...even if we do have trouble remembering each other's names. ;)

I love the slide show and pictures on the front page. I'm totally ready to start planning the next trip.

I'm so excited that we are doing Lilo and Stitch before Mouse Adventure! I've never been there and I'm such a sucker for character breakfasts!

I hope everyone is having a great day! :goodvibes

Take me then! I'll leave you alone! :rotfl2: ;)

I know that they use contaminated tortillas:sick: so I missed out the fun again because of the nachos. I loved the parks this week because I got to research and find ways to help others have fun. I found out where the Disney magic is kept, in the hearts of CMs.

What kind of tags are you talking about? I have skin tags, handicapped hang tag thingy, luggage tags, Christmas tags and probably other tags.:rolleyes1

Have a llama ding dong day.:dance3:

Stacie B., thank you so much for putting together the Segway tour! Also, thanks for waking me up so I didn't miss it! :rotfl2:

I think they put special Disney drugs in that coffee, or maybe the muffin, in the VIP lounge. One cup of that stuff and I was ready to go! ...or maybe it was after that lady fell I realized I would need to wake up or suffer the same fate. :rotfl:

I love the slide show. Thanks for posting it. Also, I just want to let you guys know that I added my pics to the shutterfly account.

Ugh, I hate airline change fees! They're such a ripoff! It should just be a simple, small charge (like $15-$20) to reschedule a flight......but boy do they stick it to you! (Well, except for Southwest......the rest of the airlines are a PITA.)

I didn't have the coffee, and I don't think it was those muffins either. I think we were all afraid of falling and making a fool out of ourselves. No one wanted to die either.
