Hello!

So my dad and Tyrae were working upstairs, using the air compressor, and my dog is now terrified. It let out air later on today when I was home and she practically jumped in my arms, shaking out of fear :sad2: My dad told me shortly after using (I was at a party), they went to look for Osita and they thought she somehow got outside. She was hiding under the sofa pretty much traumatized. So now she is sticking super close to mommy (moi:lovestruc) or my mom.

It was so sad, my little sister (9 years old) forgot her bunny at my aunt's house. She has had this stuffed bunny since birth and she was seriously crying for about 10 minutes (even though we live 15 minutes from my aunt) So Osita and I decided to go upstairs to comfort her. I placed Osita on Anais' bed and it's crazy, she knew exactly what to do. So she just layed, curled up next to Anais, and just stayed there. My puppy is so smart paw: This is why I'm really hoping to take her to NLOL (new leash on life) and take classes so she can be a certified therapy/assistance dog. I would to take her to elderly homes and children's hospitals. She definitely has the temperment. When my mom was home from surgery, and she would be in a lot of pain, Osita would look at her and whine kinda like "What's wrong?!" and then go lay by her.

Therapy dogs are amazing. At the Children's Hospital where I work we have a great therapy dog program. Not only do they come and visit the kids, they also occasionaly will stop by different departments to visit the employees. It really makes a difference for everyone.

That is so sweet!! My dogs are so worthless, they are rather self serving. My kitties are the comfort givers!!!

But more importantly, did you sister get her Bunny back?

Oh, and to add to the air compresser thing. My corgi now runs and barks if you even touch the can of compressed air!!! Cleaning the keyboard the other day, major hysteria!!!!

Both of mine are deathly afriad of the vacum cleaner. I think they like to be dirty is why. And one of them can't stay on the bed when I blow dry my hair. She freaks and has to be on the floor. Not out of the room, just on the floor.

You'd think she would be more freaked if you DIDN"t blow dry your hair.:rotfl::scared1::lmao:

Boy, getting late and I 'm getting crusty.

oNe of my cats, Leonard is reclining over my wrist as I type. I think it is endearing. He's probably trying to cause carpal tunnel!!!

Yeah, but the way my hair looks after napping for 5 hours and being in bed for the last 4 days, she will be happy for me to comb it.

Yeah, but always keep in mind. You're hot!!

AmySue

This week I wouldn't be so sure. My family keeps telling me how bad I look. Even my doc took one look at me and said "you dont' look good". Luckily my dogs love me no matter what. Well, either that or they love the napping blanket.

Hello Ladies,
Happy news for me, as I am always scheming for another reason to visit the parks you know. Just found out that my work's leadership conference will be in San Diego Oct. 19-21. I will be finished fairly early on the 21, and am thinking of heading up to Anaheim and going into the parks, and then going in on the 22 before flying home that night. So, it would be Wed and Thurs for me in the parks. Will they be closed early?

Tracy,

I live in San Diego. Unfortunately I always work Wednesdays...could probably drive you up Thursday. Okay, so that wouldn't work.

Great to get another chance to go, though!!

Okay, how about, you're lukewarm??? Doesn't have quite the same ring, does it.

I really love your doctor!!

I love my doctor too. Its like seeing a friend. Got a rash on my back...."Ewwww, that's not good". Have a problem with my toe "Ack, you need to see someone else" Have a virus "you don't look good". He's great.

I will settle for lukewarm at this point.

G'night Stacie!!

Hope you feel better tomorrow!!

Oh, I sent you a super secret PM...(suddenly felt like super Squirrel from Rocky and Bullwinkle!!!).

I'm sure we will chat another day. I think we put everyone else to bed!!!

Hey all. Happy Saturday, even though it's already late in the day!

I skimmed through some of the pages. You know you put on 10 pages in about two days!!! :scared1: Holy Cow! (why is holy cow part of our vocabulary, anyway?) anyways, I wanted to comment on some of the stuff I read. I like Donna's way of calling our posts, so I'm gonna copy her.

Mickey heads on toes I think that should be on the agenda for next year, definitely!! It will be so fun watching all of you do that.

Jane Good luck with the tubes for Ty's ears. I bet he'll improve so much once they're in. Keep us posted on him.

Linda Okay, you had me cracking up about CR, and esp. about her dog.

Wendy Still thinking of your dad getting you those Mickey nuggets. I had a great relationship w/my dad before he passed away, and so your post was a little poignant for me. I had to smile.

As for painting my toes -- seriously I'll spare you all, and STILL be cool for not doing it. :snooty: (<-- I just wanted to use this smiley - always makes me laugh)

AmySue I want to see those glittery lashes, gal.

Debbie Good luck with your homework. I'm going back to school, but took off this semester. I shouldn't have, but that's another story. I think it's great you're going to school, as tough as it is right now.

And dang girl, you have a busy weekend!!

I hope your friend came through surgery well, and heals thoroughly & quickly.

Heather Glad you guys are getting your checks. You so totally deserve to be refunded. Hope you're feeling better.

Dawn I hope your asthma is minimal, if not gone, by now. I'm sorry you're suffering from that. I haven't seen the pic of Valerie Bertinelli. She's a beautiful woman - bit of a scamp - but beautiful.

Beth It'd be so much fun to meet up with you on your birthday. Maybe we can plan a fun meal. I'm sure my birthday card will be well spent by that date, though. They have so many cute things out right now. I got a brown & green Tink t-shirt that I'm waiting to wear for WDW or the cruise.

Glad you all had such a nice lunch in Vegas. Love that there is a place like the DIS to meet people with like interests and turn that into friendships. I love the pictures of you, Michelle, Tracy, & Amy -- they're fun to see & just make me smile.

Hmmm, note to self: Google Paul Revere and the Raiders. I have no clue who they are.
I feel so old ... :upsidedow

Stacie I just read the road rage incident. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I think I would have been shaking so much. It's sad that because of the beaurocracy (I'm too tired to spell check) of things that the police weren't out there immediately. Those precincts need to fix their systems so they can respond first, then work out the paperwork later. This could have turned out so much worse.

I'm glad you're okay.

Kelly What a horrible thing to do to your car! These people are seriously disturbed. It's a shame that you can't enjoy the good things in your life with the negative stuff being pulled. Hope you all have a great trip despite everything that's happening.

Jen You're so good to keep everyone motivated! :yay:
Good news on the DVC. I know you're going to enjoy it.

CoMickey In case I missed you - welcome to the group! I wish you & Mr. CA the best. What a great story. It's nice you've come to the Diva thread. Everyone is really nice, and I'm sure you'll make a lot of friends.

Becci Hope you're feeling better. Colds can really wear you down.

KatieNice to see you. Your kids have grown! And your little one is absolutely precious. I'm glad you can make it to the next outing.

Glad you had such a nice time in WDW.

Cristabel I'd like to see what a buttload of CSUF stuff looks like ;) I think you'll like it there. The CSU campuses are pretty good.

You're poor little Osita! But what a neat thing you have planned for her. You gotta keep us up to date how it works out. I think that the therapy dog program is so worthwhile.

Sarah I'm glad that your 3-yr old turned out to be okay. If you want a place with hot breakfast try the Residence Inn Maingate. If you want someplace closer, try Camelot Inn. They have a simple continental breakfast and have 1-bedroom suites. Or, you can try Best Western Park Place Inn- that is right across the street, and they have mini suites with two queens and a sofa bed. They have a deluxe continental breakfsat that is better than the ones at Camelot or Tropicana Inn.

Sarah (Moto) How did you like Salt Creek Grill? Let me tell you my story of Salt Creek Grill... A friend of mine, my daughter, and I had scored a weekend at one of the Crystal Cove Cottages (beach cottage south of Newport Beach). Welll, one day, after a day out on the beach we decided to get a bite to eat at a different location. So we hiked up to our car (parked across PCH) and drove out of the lot (closes at 10pm). It was around 6pm. Every restaurant in Laguna Beach was booked, long lines, no place to park. So we come up to SCG, and I say, "let's eat here!" My friend, Brenda tells me, "Well, it looks a little expensive, Mary Jo" and I respond, I don't care, we have money." So we drive up -- it's valet only.

Okay, remember when I said we were out on the beach all day? Well, we never did get prettied up. We were wearing rolled up jeans, sweatshirts, flip flops & tennies, no make-up, hair barely presentable.... So we pile out of the car & the valet dude asks us, "Do you have reservations?" Clueless me responds, "No, how long is the wait?" He tells us, "Oh, it's verrrry long. At least 2 hours." Extremely clueless me says, "Oh, that's too long, they lock us up at 10."

Now, I'm sure these valet guys must have got a call, "Do NOT let those ladies in under any circumstances."

So, I ask him where a restaurant is open, and he tells me something like, 'Well, ma'am I recommend that you go to a fast food place. All the ones here in Laguna Beach are pretty full. You should drive down to Dana Point."

My friend, Brenda, was mortified. Once I got in the car & it registered what had just happened, I couldn't stop laughing. My daughter, Kelly, just said, "Geez, mom. Couldn't you see he was trying to get rid of us? :rotfl:

We ended up at Charo Chicken. It was yummy, and we got our car back in plenty of time before they locked the gates.

Capri How was Monsters vs. Aliens? I probably won't see it until it comes out on cable or Netflix. Good luck on your homework.

baby1disney Not sure if I welcomed you yet. Welcome!
Tours run around $40-$75 or so, depending which one you take. I recommend the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour and the Segway Tour (if you're feeling ambitious). The higher end restaurants will be about $20-$30 a meal, or more, depending on your entree, but for lunch you can expect $10-$20. As the trip gets close, and people start signing up for meals and tours you can get a better idea of the cost, and what you want to participate in.

Laurie I'm all caught up with you, lol.

Cheryl Welcome home!! I bet your trip went by too fast. I'm glad you had a good time at Saratoga Springs. I've been to the Magic Kingdom twice, and the 2nd time we made sure to go see Country Bear Jamboree. It was nice seeing the original show. I miss Carousel of Progress, too. That is part of my fundamental Disneyland memories when I was just a little girl. Looking forward to reading more about your trip.

Steph So sorry you still feel poorly. I hope you feel better soon. This is the first I've heard of malls shortening their hours, but if it keeps stores from closing until we get through this, then good.

I'm glad your date night worked out, even if you didn't do anything spectacular. I hope it works out for a long time for you guys.

AmySue So you say you're going to stink at MouseAdventure? <perk> ;) J/K
My daughter's cat Diamond is just like Leonard, especially when she can't get into Kelly's room. She'll lay right on top of my arm when I'm trying to type. But do I push her off? nooooo (well, most of the time)

So, I've spent most of my time reading through all those pages & responding, and didn't even talk about Disneyland. Lol. I'll put it in another post. Had a nice time yesterday, and ended the day w/a nice dinner at Yamabuki's with Laurie, and two of her friends, Lara & Chris. I might do a mini report since I have a little review of the Celebration lunch and the Celebration parade.

Night everyone!

Wow, you must have really needed the rest to sleep that long. I'm glad you were able to do that.

Speaking of dogs, did you see Marley and Me? I remember we were talking about it when it was in the theater around Christmas. We finally rented it.
I'm so glad I didn't take the twins to see it! Too many references about sex for them to see. And plus the ending was just too sad. They would have been bawling. It was a cute movie though. Seeing a dog like that though, reinforces why I'm a cat person. :rotfl2:

Welcome home Cheryl! We missed you around here.

Hmmm, note to self: Google Paul Revere and the Raiders. :rolleyes1
I have no clue who they are. :confused3 :rotfl:
Mom loved the book about Marley.

Paul Revere and the Raiders currently do charity rides and are an old time band. OMG you never heard of them back when Beatles and the British invasion was big.:scared1: I saw them in the Summer concert series at DCA down by the bay.

Mary Jo what do you mean you are caught up with me? That sounds scary like a mom cleaning up after a kid..:lmao:

Lara is Purpura on stupidguesttricks.com and her husband, Chris also on SGT. He is the nice dude who came over twice to fix my computer. He is the one that broke my bed.:rolleyes1 Lara works in foods mainly at the Plaza and sometimes Rancho Zocalo as a greeter or server. They are both neurovariants like me a very nice people who are fun to be around. He is the ADD type she loves Buildabear and plushies.

I went back to Yamabuki and had the California Roll, salad, green beans OMG I ate green beans, steamed white rice (low calorie so I was good), and the most flavorful new york steak that was brown on the edges and just medium in the middle sheer bliss, iced tea and one very bad thing that made me sick, coconut sorbet. I reacted to that so badly.

I loved going out with my friends but I have atrocious manners, eating habits, and lack social skills at times. The blessings of being a neurovariant who was raised by a neurovariant. I used chopsticks for everything but the sorbet. I wanted a meal alone where there was not social stress on me and I was alone. I need to be with people online and off but at times I love being alone. I loved my solo dinner but at the same time think I had a better time with Mary Jo, Lara, and Chris.

Things like paperwork and such to get action really irritate me. I'm thinking of trying to get something done with that. Make a stink of some sort. I have a few officer friends who I am gonna talk with and see what I can do. Or I may just make a stink and cause some problems. Lucky for me things turned out ok. May not be so for the next person. I understand the need for a paper trail and all. But come on....some things need action first, then the report. Once I am better, they better watch out. I am not about being the squeekie wheel.

That has got to be one of the funniest stories I think I have ever heard. They were profiling you and you didn't even know it. I hate when places are so snooty like that. Hilarious though.

Oh, and I do hope you do a trip report. I would love to see your take on the parade and the BBQ.

Hmmm, note to self: Google Paul Revere and the Raiders. :rolleyes1

Hehe! I really only remembered the one song and I looked it up and it was released in 1971 or so...:rolleyes1...I think I was in the fourth grade.

Thanks Mary Jo! You are sweet. There is more to the story and I'll share sometime with the boards are quiet and we need a good story. I'll just start for now with I was there meeting someone from the DIS singles threads (we had met once and decided to go to WDW together) and his flight was delayed by several hours. To be continued....;)

Funny story but also frustrating...I wonder if he's ever turned away any 'famous' people who didn't have all of the makeup, clothes and perfect hair?? Now that would be funny!

Thanks for doing all of the research on Paul Revere and the Raiders! 'Paul was so funny...he kept calling the youngest band member the 'Baby Raider' and he was probably in his 40's!

Where is Yamabuki - Sorry You may have mentioned the location but I missed it. It sounds really yummy!
