Wow, you must have really needed the rest to sleep that long. I'm glad you were able to do that.

Speaking of dogs, did you see Marley and Me? I remember we were talking about it when it was in the theater around Christmas. We finally rented it.
I'm so glad I didn't take the twins to see it! Too many references about sex for them to see. And plus the ending was just too sad. They would have been bawling. It was a cute movie though. Seeing a dog like that though, reinforces why I'm a cat person. :rotfl2:

I loved the movie, but I was there with my 6 year old and my nephew who is 11 and my 12 year old. Everything pretty much went over my 6 year olds head, but my 11 year old nephew was asking for lots of explanations from my 12 year old, who was providing them.(I didn't know he knew so much!) Of course, my son told his cousin that his nipples were called nibbles when they were about age 4 and 3. That name stuck in our household for a long time.
I could not beleive that was rated PG and not PG13. Very misleading, and quite frankly I felt it was not necessary at all to have all that suggestiveness.

Steph: I forgot to mention hurrah on your date night. My DH and I don't go, kind of ever, since I am so frugal, I have trouble having fun knowing I have to pay the babysitter 40-50 dollars when I get home. Hope you have fun and it works out and you can trade off with your friends on a regular basis.

AmySue

I completly agree. The babysitter's want $10 an hour now adays, and I just can't do that. I need a swap person, but all my friends have like 2 or 3 little ones, and I just have a 12 year old and a 6 year old, so always feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick, kwim?

Tracy,

I live in San Diego. Unfortunately I always work Wednesdays...could probably drive you up Thursday. Okay, so that wouldn't work.

Great to get another chance to go, though!!

AMySue

Okay, AmySue, it'll work. You're backup plan number 3, if Deb doesn't come down, and Heather can't squeeze me in, then I am coming over to sleep on your couch covered with your 500 cats, so we can get up bright and early and go to DL. But seriously, you should consider coming up for the day. It would be fun!

Hehe! I really only remembered the one song and I looked it up and it was released in 1971 or so...:rolleyes1...I think I was in the fourth grade.
Ah, that explains it. I was born in '71. lol

Thanks Laurie for all your info on it as well. When I have time I'll have to check out those links.

Well ladies, I am just checking in real quick. I had much more I wanted to quote but no time. Mary Jo, your story was too funny. Steph, feel better and safe travels to FL for you! Uhhh, what else. I can't think right now. lol

Melody, guess you are on your way here to Vegas! Hope you have fun.

Kelly, and you should be on your way to a much deserved Disneyland trip. We will miss you, but I hope DL is able to work it's magic and you are able to forget some of the drama with Lynn for awhile anyway. :wizard:

I am off to run some errands and then going to make and decorate some Easter sugar cookies with the girls later on. Have a good day everyone!! :goodvibes

Good morning! It is beautiful outside today, and we are in full spring cleaning mode. definitely not my favorite way to spend a Sunday, but it will so be worth it when we're done and all this "stuff" is gone! I hope everybody has a great day today.:)

Yamabuki is closin on the 11th of this month and is located to the left of the PAradise Pier Lobby entrance. It is hidden so you cannot see it.

No research as I am a big Paul Revere fan. I loved the music and loved seeing him at DCA. Cherokee Nation hits home for me because of my Hispanic roots but I have read about how my Irish ancestors were treated. Glad you liked it.

I wish I could see them again. That and the Monkees. My hidden love ut in Jr. High School I was to afraid of being called a baby if I said I loved them. Mom just got me up so she can get her newspaper. 2 hours sleep. Back to bed for me.

No Spring cleaning for me. I have my troll, Calvin, who lived for food and his bluegrass music. All I need is $40 and some ribs and the laundry will be rotated, trash taken out and kitchen cleaned. The other divas may have princes but I have a very special troll who loves food.:lmao:

Hey Capri~ What are you going to school for??

I know the third trip is still a long way away, but I really need something to look forward to right now. Hope you're planning on being there again
7.gif
.

I've gone back to school to get my Masters in Elementary Education. It'll take me about 18 months or so.

I'm totally planning on being there again for our third ladies trip! I can't wait to see you there! We really missed you on the last ladies trip.

Your son looks SO TALL now (and pretty gosh darn cute)! I was really surprised to see how much he's grown since the last pictures I saw of him.

And your baby is just the cutest! :cutie:

If you guys don't mind, can some of you ladies tell me what you approx spent on this past trip(hotel, tours, food, souvies, etc)? I know everyone will be different, but it's my mom who wants to know all of this stuff....she just doesn't understand how this DIS works....:confused3:sad2::rolleyes1 LOL!!!!

I spent a total of about $800. That was for my airfare, Disney deluxe annual pass, hotel, food, and extras (cab fare, alcohol, tips, a few gifts for my family).

I'm doing well here. As an update, I did end up getting 100 DVC points at the Grand Californian. My DH finally gave in (an unexpected tax rebate also helped...) Got $8 off per point, plus 2 DL Premium APs as incentives. Fortunately, it's going to take some weeks to get those APs or else I'm sure I'd be finding a way to get down there for DS's spring break or birthday in April
Yay, you're owners of VGC! How exciting! :yay:

Hi everybody! I am home from WDW--yesterday was a long day! I finally got home at 10:45 p.m. California time--which felt like 1:45 a.m. Florida time!

All in all it was a great trip--I totally fell in love with Saratoga Springs resort having somewhat experienced some of the other resorts this time. Of course, I still want to try the others, but I love the openness and tranquility of SSR. I still have not seen Animal Kingdom Lodge (cancelled my Jiko dinner).

I'm hoping to start downloading my photos later and have a small trip report started later too.

Hi Cheryl, it's great to have you back. I can't wait to hear more about your trip and see pictures.:thumbsup2

DH and I loved SSR too, and for the same reasons. It was so open with really pretty landscaping. And it was a quiet place to relax after a being in the parks all day. We loved spending our evenings in the pool and hot tub having a cocktail overlooking DTD. It was soooooooo nice.:cloud9:

(And an added plus......we never had long lines for the SSR bus when leaving the parks in the evenings. When we stayed at CSR in early December, a few times we'd have to wait for a second bus to show up before we could get on. We never had that problem when we stayed at SSR. We noticed that SSR and OKW seemed to always have the shortest bus lines out of all the resorts.)

Hi there and welcome back! Glad you had a great time! I am one of the newbies.

Whoops, I think I missed you in my "welcomes", so I wanted to say.....
.....WELCOME! :welcome:party:

No, we never went to see it. I knew the ending was gonna be sad so I didn't want to see it. And that dog did look to be a bit on the naughty side. Thankfully my dogs are just lazy. Works well for me.
We have a naughty dog. But that's kinda one of the reasons I love her. Mischievious can be endearing for a dog.....sometimes.

She's eaten so many bad things. I can't even tell you!

A few times she's eaten a small box of color crayons, and then has rainbow poo. (I'm not kidding about the rainbow poo.)

She ate a $25 Alaska airlines credit voucher off my desk.

She chewed up the remote for our TV.

The other day, I left the room for like five minutes, came back and realized she ate a huge bag of gummy worms that was left on a lamp table.

She's chewed up socks, towels (that she pulled off the towel bar in our bathroom), bathmats (that she dragged out of our bathroom), underwear (she took out of the laundry room), shoes, empty aluminum pop cans (which is just weird, and somehow she didn't get any cuts in her mouth), oh and the toys toys toys she's destroyed.

I mean, I could go on and on and on about her......:rotfl:

HI everyone!!

I have been sooooooooooo busy the last few days. I wish I had time to catch up, and see what is going. I did see enough on the last page to welcome the newbies, and welcome Cheryl home!! Also enough to wonder what happened to Stacie and Sarah's DD?

I leave tomorrow for Vegas around 6:00am, and I haven't even begun to pack. THe last couple of days have been taken up by track meets and a volleyball tournanment all day today.

Beth, I will give you a call if I get a moment.

Take care all!

Melody

Hi Melody. Hope you have a great time in Las Vegas!:woohoo:

Its so relaxing. I love being above TL and just taking it all in. When it was open at DL, I loved going through the Tron section.

I loved going through the Tron section too. I thought that was the best part.:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!

Hi Steph, I hope you feel better soon.

Okay, AmySue, it'll work. Hey, hey,hey now. I only have 4!!!!! And only 3 are willing to sleep with people. Although sleep is a bit of a misnomer. 6 month old Dobby thinks he's a hamster or some other nocturnal beast!! AND, I think so much of you, you could have the guest bedroom. (you'd only have to share with a cage of 2 parakeets...they have to be shut up at night due to....well... Dobby)

Ah, that explains it. I was born in '71. lol

Ugh, I was 10 in 1971.:sad2::sad2:

That and the Monkees.

I saw the Monkees in a concert with Herman and the Hermits, and Gary Pucket and the Union Gap in about 1989. It was a riot!!!

Beth~ You are the best mommy. You are always baking with your kids
2.gif
. My poor kids are so deprived, maybe I should make some Easter cookies with them .

After we finish purging the toy room today (why do we still have a sit n spin?) my DD and I are making sugar cookies!!! I am sending a container of them to the two families that are taking care of her during spring break. Luckily I only work Mon, Weds, and Sat this week!! So, I am sending the cookies naked along with the can of frosting and sprinkles and food coloring as a "craft". I bet the moms will want to kill me!!!

Happy Sunday!!! Just bathed Gryff my Irish Wolfhound in the shower. Feeling fresh here!!!

AmySue

I used to do things like that when my DD was much younger. In the days before she got so involved with sports and I went back to school. Now there just isn't enough time or energy. And as far as Easter goes.....I suckered her granfather into taking all four of his grandkids camping. I am also making my brother go since 3 of those kids are his.

Ugh, I was 10 in 1971.:sad2::sad2:

snicker snicker snicker.....I wasn't even born yet :rolleyes1

I actually had a crush on Davey Jones. :lovestruc No one told me the Monkees reruns were reruns. When I was a kid they showed them, I thought they were first runs. I totally had a thing for him.

Toy room purge and sugar cookie making???? Damn....I am slacking. I made my kid clean her own room, and I bought her faves to fill the candy dishes.

DD baths our bigger dog in the shower as well. She puts on her bathing suit and they both hop in. Works great.

Hi there and welcome back! Glad you had a great time! I am one of the newbies. We were in Orlando almost the same time, March 24 - 31st. We spent Sunday at EPCOT and had a great relaxing day enjoying a couple of adult beverages...the Grand Marnier slushies at France are the best!! We also saw Paul Revere and the Raiders. Did you happen to seem them? We didn't really plan to see them but thought if we were in the neighborhood during one of their show times we'd stop in. They were a lot of fun, Paul is 71 yo! :rotfl: I didn't remember a lot of their songs except when they played their last song Indian Reservation and I had no idea that they sang that song. Sorry this was a little longer than I had planned but once I start talking WDW I just can't shut up!!!:scared1:

Oh gosh! We were there at the same time--I arrived on the 26th and I was in Epcot on Sunday too! I also got a Grand Marnier slushie! Bummer--it would have been nice to see you. And I just caught the last number of one of Paul Revere's shows--was Mark Lindsay there? The lead singer didn't look like him so I figured Paul had put somebody else in his place. I can't believe Paul is 71!

Hmmm, note to self: Google Paul Revere and the Raiders. :rolleyes1
I have no clue who they are. :confused3 :rotfl:

I feel old too! One of my searing memories is the day my Mom "punished" me by not letting me watch t.v. in the afternoon when Paul Revere ATR were going to be on Hullaballoo or some such thing!

HI everyone!!

Have a great time in Vegas!

Welcome Home Cheryl! I didn't know you were going to WDW (maybe if I checked in more often ). I was just there from 3/14-3/29. When did you arrive??

You are a girl after my own heart. I love the TTA. I especially love when there is no line and they let you go around and around again. I really hope they bring this back to DLand someday.

Gosh--again we overlapped by a few days. Would have loved to see you and the kids (and the baby!) There was no line for the TTA so I went twice in a row. Then Stitch came out to take pics so I went over there.

Chatty chatty chatty.

Cheryl: Welcome back!! next, MouseAdventure!!!

AmySue

Yep--I'm getting excited. My agenda this week is to get stuff together and email it to you gals to give you a "flavor" of what to expect!

Hi everyone! Welcome to the new ladies, you all will have a wonderful time.

It was so nice to walk through stores and the mall without having to say "Don't touch that" and/or "Get back here"...:rotfl2:

steph

LOL--don't know why but just thought that was the funniest line! Would have been even funnier if you said it to your DH!

I love my doctor too. Its like seeing a friend. Got a rash on my back...."Ewwww, that's not good". Have a problem with my toe "Ack, you need to see someone else" Have a virus "you don't look good". He's great.

I will settle for lukewarm at this point.

I love  my doc too. He just prescribed a shot of liquor or a glass of wine to my Mom before dinner to help increase her appetite (it seems to be helping). yep, he's a real Marcus Welby. (You youngin's better google that one too--sigh.)

Beth~ You are the best mommy. You are always baking with your kids

I think I'm making Easter cookies with a friend's kids either tomorrow or Tuesday night!

She's eaten so many bad things. I can't even tell you!

My parents used to have a dog who never chewed up anything of theirs--only mine when they would visit. He destroyed an irrigation controller, a $150 pair of shoes and a gardening can. He would also chew wood off the woodpile with no "negative" results. It was amazing.

I had no bus issues at SSR either. I was really lucky--it was either always waiting for me or came within five minutes (other than I think two waits of about 15 minutes). The busses were never completely full--in fact most times they were half empty. of course, I tended to go "off" hours.

Hey, hey,hey now. I only have 4!!!!! And only 3 are willing to sleep with people. Although sleep is a bit of a misnomer. 6 month old Dobby thinks he's a hamster or some other nocturnal beast!! AmySue

Ooooh---one of my regrets in life is never having seen the Monkees in person. And I missed Davy Jones at Epcot by ONE WEEK. Can you believe it? of course, he's probably 80 or so now. And still shorter than me. Since this is a family site I won't go into details about my adolescent dreams about Davy Jones.

I did, however, see Bobby Sherman twice--once at Disneyland.

so, I've been mostly a bum today--went to the grocery store and that was about it. have given the older cat his first dose of medication, but need to do the fluid thingie.

Other than that--it's a beautiful day today--probably HOT at DLR. Hope everyone's having a lovely day.

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl - glad you had a great time in Florida. I want a Grand Marnier slushy too  That would definitely make this day :thumbsup2

Hey Theresa! Yep--I wouldn't mind one right now either. They are devilish little things. At first I didn't think there was any alcohol in it . . . . then about fifteen minutes later--woo hoo!!!

My father was into CB radios and had used a shopping cart and other stuff to erect a pole to get better reception. Dearest little Mandy was 14.5 inches high and about 14 pound of terrier/poodle. I got her as a rescue at about age 6 months and she never in her life played with any toys.

For a long time when Mandy was over 5 years old she would go potty in the back yard and she would be gone for a long while. We never thought of it until one day I went under the bushes and found that she had dub a giant hole and burrowed part way under the CB antenna. The shopping cart was leaning precariously into the hole. That hole must have been 4 feet across and over a foot deep under the bushes.

AmySue

Hey, I would feel cherished if I too would be protected from Dobby! I think walk in showers are the best thing ever for big dog bathing! Why am I not surprised that you have an Irish Wolfhound...

And before I forget. Welcome back Cheryl! Grand Marnier slushies. Now that sounds durn good! Wish that 711 would catch on to that flavor!

I feel old too! One of my searing memories is the day my Mom "punished" me by not letting me watch t.v. in the afternoon when Paul Revere ATR were going to be on Hullaballoo or some such thing!

A cousin of my mother's was on Hullabaloo. You are the only person outside of the family who I have ever heard mention that show.

I just finished cleaning up all the sprinkles a little while ago. I give them paper towels and paper plates, and still sprinkles end up all over the kitchen floor. :rotfl:

Good evening ladies! I am feeling much better. Am hoping for a quieter week coming up. Last week was crazy. Last Monday we started potty training my 3 yr old son. He is actually doing really well :cool1: but of course we are making numerous trips to the bathroom! Fun, oh fun! :)
Tonight my dh and older kids are watching Wrestle Mania! I just don't get it!:confused3 Why is this so popular? He told me he was going to order it on Pay per View. And then I see the price when he was ordering - $54.95! :scared1: But I kept my mouth shut. I just don't see the fun in watching people throwing each other across the mat, especially when it is all staged to begin with. OK - sorry to vent! Hope I didn't offend any WM fans out there!;)

On another note - I saw some of you were discussing therapy dogs. Have I mentioned by DS with Autism is getting a Certified Autism Service Dog in August? (This is different than a therapy dog, btw. Service dogs go through more training.) We are going through an organization in Ohio called 4 Paws for Ability. Great non-profit! His dog will be a fully certified Assistance Dog who will go to school with him as well as everywhere else! We can't wait!:woohoo: Our biggest reason initially was because the dog will be trained to track our DS. (He likes to explore on his own!) But the dog will also be his best friend! :)

Hehe! I really only remembered the one song and I looked it up and it was released in 1971 or so...:rolleyes1...I think I was in the fourth grade.

I know who Janis Joplin & some people are but I have no idea about these ones.

Ah, that explains it. I was born in '71. lol

Thanks Laurie for all your info on it as well. When I have time I'll have to check out those links.

I agree. It was funny, to me, but not necessary for a movie that was in part advertised for kids. Cute movie though.

How fun! My kids always want to bake something but then get bored with it.
Now they want to dye Easter eggs...Sometimes I wish they were still little.

My kids would love it if I let them watch it, but I am mean & I won't.

Welcome home Cheryl!!

I made my first loaf of banana bread last night. I guess it was my inner June Cleaver!!!:rotfl2:
It was a low fat recipe. It was very good!!

I am not sitting here watching the Country Music Awards.

Beth~ Could you go stalking the strip for Kenny Chesney for me please???
