True, but don't you just lovethat you can DIS from anywhere? I do! :rotfl:

Once I have a steady job I'm going to add unlimited internet access to my plan so I can DIS on my iphone clone :thumbsup2

Oh course I wish I could have punched his lights out. But when I am with my DD I am not like that. Calling 911 was more for her safety than anything else. I just couldn't believe that it all started from him almost hitting my car, and me honking to let him know I was there.

Oh yeah I totally understand. For some reason this makes me thing we should all carry around tazer guns :rolleyes1

Stacie~ Here's a link to a review of Thunder Ranch including photos. The cupcakes look good to me.

Sorry to hear about your road rage incident. Sounds scary especially since you had your DD in the car:scared1:.

Kate, your baby is so adorable! :goodvibes:cutie:

ATTENTION!

You know who you are.
It's Friday. That means check in.

Don't make Vin Disney angry. It will not be pretty.

Sorry Vin... I pretty much feel like Wendy lately.

Dear Dawn! I wish I had energy. Mostly I just have momentum to carry me through each day...

Stacerita! That is terrifying when things happen like that with your child in the car. I can't tell you how many times I have called 911 from my cell phone when someone is endangering my kid's lives. I'm thinkin a shot of something might be called for!

Welcome to all the new ladies.

Hellooooo from the parade route at Disneyand!!! I am about to see the Celebrate parade. Had dinner at the Thunder Ranch BBQ. It was pricey but good. I will tell more later. Only so much I can send from my blackberry

Later fellow Divas.

Nice, Mary Jo :thumbsup2 I get to spend the evening home alone (wow - second night in a row!!!). DS has a party and DH has a meeting, so DMe gets to watch whatever movie I feel like :rotfl2: Ooh, the exciting life I lead - aren't you jealous?????

Ooh, tall and sleepy voice - nice :thumbsup2 Scary dog next door, not so nice :scared1:

Jane - did the Vinylmation pin I sent get there yet????

Tracey - got the VIP refund - woo hoo!!! Thanks!

I wanted to thank EVERYONE for the great welcome to your little group. This thread moves Fast!! I'm lost again. :upsidedow

I have one tiny question tho. How does one escape from an 8 year old avid Disney fan to attend the Dis Diva Adventure? Any and all suggestions are great appreciated. :flower3:

:hug:Welcome aboard and as for the kid, I am not sure what to do with them. WDW has a pirate cruise and kid activities but I am not sure what you can do with the kid. If she was 16 I would suggest a fake ID.:woohoo:

Ok, so my sister-in-law and the family are coming over sunday to start planning our trip for september. I used to plan these things for a living but am just over whelmed right now. My DS just about killed himself last night. He's 3. My MIL and I were in the kitchen talking and my dd was asleep. My son was in my bedroom watching a movie and all of a sudden we heard him cry out. We ran into the room and he had found a yoyo and had somehow tied it around his neck and the bedpost. I was able to get my fingers between the string and his neck while my mil ran for the scissors. It was so scary. I have always been afraid of him putting things around his neck and here is my worst fear realized.

So, I am trying to decide what to do about the september trip. I was going to do the Grand since I now have an ap but the money is tight so now I am thinking of doing something else. I would consider hojo but my BIL wants a sit down breakfast included and a suite....my family just needs a place close by so we can get back easily for naps. We have done CCI in the past and liked that...it even has a cont. b-fast but my in laws have a family of 5 and those rooms may be a bit crowded for that.....I know I am rambling, but ideas?

Sarah
Sarah, that sounds so scary! Thank goodness your mom was there to help you!!!!
As for your hotel prediciment, I don't know what to say. The only place I can think of with a full sit down breakfast would be Embassy Suites. But there are some pretty good breakfast options in the park. Tell your BIL to eat a snack in the morning, hit the park hard for 90 minutes, and then have breakfast in the park. JMO.:)

Rub it in, why don't ya! Have fun. i can't wait for your report!

I am off to Yamabuki and to meet my friends Lara and her husband and Mary Jo. Maybe Mary Jo can get some shots of the place for us to remember it after it closes. So many things at DLR are gone like the flying saucers, History of Fashion, and the conestoga wagons. I wish I had pictures of them gone places.

Country Bears was a place to wind down and relax for a while. They could have done so much with that show like varied music and costuming. I miss a lot of things from the past like keelboats, motorboats and America the Beautiful

I am glad the kid is ok, sahbushka. That is really scary. I have read about kids and strings strangling like on venitian blinds. Watch him with any buckets at they can be a hazard for little ones. Big Hugs.

I cannot do monthly shopping as my Visa payment is not through yet. I want my rewards, lol. I already have 18 the first month. I will pay the water bill with the Visa also.

Lara and her husband are joining me and Mary Jo at Yamabuki and everyone is still invited. I have eaten once there that I can remember years ago.

That's exactly how I felt about Country Bears. A little down time to relax before heading back out to the crowds. When we took my Mom when my kids were little it was "Grandmas place to sit for a while" and of course the show was great.

THANK YOU ALL for the very warm welcomes! You are all very sweet and I can tell this will be a great place to share everyday life! I used to hang out on the DIS singles threads and made some great friends but I don't have as much in common with them any longer. Thankful for that...the dating scene was fun for a while but after a while the fun wears off!

Welcome! What a cool way to meet a man. :thumbsup2 We're a crazy group of friends, but most of us are harmless.

Hi Vicki! That's a great way to meet someone :thumbsup2 I work at home too, so I know what you mean about getting out and meeting people.

It was a very cool way to meet him and I would not change a thing! Sometime when you're all bored I'll share the entire story I think you'll get a kick out of it!

Stacerita - What a scary experience and with your DD in the car!! I would still be shaking...I am glad that you are safe at home! I was once involved in a road rage situation too. They guy I was dating at the time was driving my car and he had cut off a guy in a huge pickup truck so they went back and forth passing each other and cutting each other off (exactly one of the reasons I am no longer with that guy!). The truck finally gets in front of us and drives off or else we thought, but we pull up behind him at that next stop light and he saw us and started backing up so that we would hit him. We tried to avoid hitting him and instead the guy driving my car hit the guard rail...ugh! :scared1: I was not happy!

I don't have any exciting plans for the weekend. DBF has to work tomorrow and the kids will be with their mom so I'm free...what to do?? Probably not DL because we will be there next weekend maybe the beach if it's warm enough? I can't get enough of the beach since I grew up in a landlocked state my entire life!

Hope everyone has a great evening!

I swear I am too old this crapola! But I guess it will get better at some point???

Oh yes...tall & sleepy voice!! I guess the dog isn't that scary, it just barks a lot!

I was just the victim of road rage. DD got out of school early today so even though I am home sick, I was picking her up from school and told her I would drive through and getting her lunch. Picked her up with no issues, went to her fave (Jack in the Box) and was heading home. I was in the far right lane and had just crossed the intersection when this car came into my lane. If I didn't slam on my breaks he would have totally hit me. As he was coming over into my lane I did honk the horn because I thought he may have not seen me. Well he just kept going.

So I change lanes so I am not behind him and when the next light came up, I was at least one car ahead of him, but in the next lane over. The light changes and I drive on. The car in the next lane is pretty slow and I will be needing to make a right at the next light, so I signal and change lanes. Remember, the car that cut me off is behind the slow car that I changed lanes in front of.

Now the craziness starts. I can see in my rearview mirror that he is speeding up, and cuts off a few people by zig zagging back and forth so he is right behind me. I now know this isn't gonna be good. I slow up and turn my blinker on since I need to make a turn at the light. He is right on my backside. After I make the turn he comes right up on the side of me and tries to push me into the parked cars. I shall mention that this is a one lane street right infront of the elementry school. I am very concernced since he is in the turn lane and is right by the crossing gaurd lady.

He pulls right in front of me then slams on the breaks. I stop in time though. He starts to drive on and I am hoping this is over since I need to turn into my track. He passes my street so I turn in, well he flips his car around and comes down the street and passes me. There is a fork in the road and he waits. I go to turn and he proceeds to turn and then cuts me off, puts his car so it is "T" in front of me then gets out of the car.

He comes over to the window and starts yelling at me. When he pulled in front of me I had already grabbed my phone to call 911. He is cursing and saying crazy things. I yell, I am calling the cops. As soon as he gets back in the car he starts off, then flips his car around and then heads straight for me, but turns at the last minute.

When 911 got on the phone he was still standing in the street. I told them what was going on and gave them his license plate number. And was able to describe him. But then they transfered me to the local police. And I had to give them the whole story again. I was pretty shaken since I could almost see my house from where this was all taking place. I explained everything again and the officer was very understanding.

One problem is jurisdiction. I live in an area where 3 cities meet at one intersection. The first cut off was in Cypress, the elementry school incident is Anaheim, but once I turned down the street is was Buena Park. I know its an issue, always is. I could hear it in the officers voice when he asked where this all took place. But I want to say he was understanding and I felt better once I talked to him.

I don't think there is much that will come of it. I told them what I could about the car, the number and his description. I am home safe. I was told that they would do some extra patrol around here though. So thats a good thing.

It was just so scary. Made my sick day at home to not be so relaxing.

Oh my gosh Stacie!! How scary! I can't believe they transferred you...why wouldn't that be a 911 issue? I mean people are crazy and he could have pulled a gun or something. I'm so glad you are ok.

I am very jealous. I'm the one home sick and DD picked the last movie. Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Not the best.

Don't say anything till you come back. Just let the kid know you are going away on a ladies trip. Don't say where. And then get them something great as a gift when you get home.

Debra - Tall is good.

I know. I told them he was coming at me. That I felt threatened, and scared for our lives. But that's not a 911 issue I guess. I did think for a minute that he may pull a gun. Thats the one reason I called 911 and told them his license plate number. Heck, if something ever happens to me, I want them to get the guy who did it. But yeah, don't transfer me.

What really stinks about the transfer is that the Cypress PD is one street over from me, but the Buena Park PD where they transfered me to is way on the other end of town. Much much farther. Even the Anaheim sub station is 3 blocks away. Just because the actual city I was in was BP, they transfer me there. UGH!

I have been fighting a bad cold for a week now and things are piling up around the house.
Hi Becci. I'm sorry you are sick! I hope you are able to get some rest and feel better soon.

I am sitting here anxiously waiting for my friends mom to call. She had or rather is in surgery. They have to remove a protion of her scalp to do a graft on her brain.
OMG, that sounds so scary. I hope it all goes smoothly for her and her recovery is quick.

Beth~ Please add me to next years trip ! I'm still upset that I missed this years trip, but it was too close to my WDW trip and the baby was still too young to leave with anyone (see still won't eat out of a bottle :headache:).
Katie! Wow, this is weird. Were your ears burning??? I met with Michelle, Amy and Jane for lunch today and Michelle and I were wondering what had happened to you! We were hoping all was ok and that you'd be able to join us next time. And now look at this post! :lmao:
Glad you'll be able to make it! We missed you this time around.

I was just the victim of road rage.
Oh Stacie! I am so sorry that happened to you. How terrifying. What is wrong with people these days??

Hi Sarah.
Yikes! Don't they realize how many gray hairs they give us when they do these things!! I'm glad you got there and he's fine.

Good luck with your trip planning.

I don't know what time but we are also going to see Fast and Furious.
HI Sarah, let me know what you think of the movie. Adam wants to see it but I want to make sure it's appropriate for a 14 year old.

Had dinner at the Thunder Ranch BBQ. It was pricey but good.
Lucky duck! Can't wait to hear more about it.

Lisa
HI Lisa, it does move fast. lol
As for how to escape.........lie. :rotfl: Seriously, some ladies simply didn't tell the kiddos where they were headed. Others found bribery worked well. ;)

For my kids, once they found out I was going with a bunch of other ladies, they weren't interested. I told them all we'd be doing was shopping. haha

But whatever you end up doing, at some point you will no doubt feel a twinge of guilt, but just remind yourself as a mom, we all need a break now and then. And besides, the type of trip you have with a group of adult friends is so different then the ones you take with family, that you really can't even compare them. It will be a lot of fun and you'll go home refreshed and ready to be a good mom again. :thumbsup2

This is a great place to plan trips and make friendships. :)

Have fun if you head to the beach. I love the beach. Actually, I love the coastline along central and northern CA. I miss that so much!!
