Capri~ Whaa... :scared1: SNOW??? No way!! It was so nice here yesterday.
I hope Ryan starts feeling better.

I know! Totally unbelievable right?! We woke up to about 2-3 inches of snow, and it snowed all morning until it became warm enough for the snow to turn into rain, and then it rained most of the day. According to the news, yesterday we officially broke the seasonal snowfall record. I am soooooo sick of snow. At least there's not much left around though.

It sounds like ML is a good weather pocket to live in in Washington.:thumbsup2

Ryan is feeling better. He just won't eat.:confused3

Thanks for the update on the parade -- what if you have a big group of fun-loving ladies sitting together? Would it make the parade worth waiting for?

I think it something you guys should check out. I think everyone should check everything out at least one time. Its just not something I think DBF and I would wait again to see by ourselves. With the kids, yes. But check it out. Its cute. Not the best though.

Hi everyone!!

Here's my update:

Last night at California Grill was a disaster!! I ended up sitting at an area called the Chef's Table--and was totally ignored by my waiter. Awful! The food wasn't bad--but the bad service ruined it. More details later.

Sorry Cali Grill was a disaster. I thought the Chef's Table was supposed to be one of the better places to sit.

I got back from our three day trip to DL at around 4 today!! The parks were packed, but unlike Cristabel, I had a good time. Friday I was at the park with a good friend and her two daughters and my DD8. We got in early, (not AmySue early, but shortly after opening). Apparently when you caravan with friends who tend to drive the speed limit, you can't go 80!!!!!

My friends have AP's too and get the whole FP and walking with purpose thing. So we rode SM, IASW, HM, Winnie, the monorail, and then headed over to CA for lunch and then stayed over there. They had never done Bug's life or Heimlich, so we dilly-dally around pretty much avoiding the crowds. We finished our day with the three FP's we had gathered, Soarin, SM and IJ. Saw the firworks, they drove back to San DIego, and my Dd and I walked to our hotel. We stayed at Desert Inn.

It was totally fine. However, staying there made me think about our consideration about switching hotels for the meet next year. We really need to think about parking. Desert only had one space per room and even that was dicey. Also, you need to get your car out of the lot by 2PM on the day you check out. Our room this year had 4 carsat the HoJo and it was no problem.
Also, I had devil's own time pulling out of the driveway of the Desert about any time of day due to the traffic, foot and car. People are constantly streaming by in the crosswalk, Hojo's entry into the side street, then the light....much much much easier!!!

Saturday we just played in the pitiful ugly indoor pool, shopped at downtown disney and went to the movies...really fun relaxing day. I even got a lot of my book read, and spelling and book report--finished.

Today we were there at rope drop, did PP!!! Twice!!!! Grabbed fast passes, did most of fantasyland and thens pent an hour or so on Tom Sawyer's Island. We had never done that.

Around 2, we had HAD it, major crowds, and the DD seems to be getting sick, so we smooth sailed it back home.

I didn't see Stacie or Cristabel, but honestly...ZOO!!!!!

THe trip would have totally stunk if I didn't have an AP. Then we would have felt very pressured to DO everything. This way..we took it easy.

As easy as I can,anyway!!

Hey AmySue! I agree.....ZOO! Thank goodness for APs or else I would have been bummed. I wish we would have run into you guys, but I could barely keep my eye out for DD and her friend. I am jealous that you were at rope drop. And PP twice???? No fair at all. We stayed out for FL all day. We were able to grab fast passes for Space, Splash and BTMRR. POTC line was wacked! It was sooooo long. We skipped that one. There were a few things we wanted to do but didn't because of the crowds. Thankfully we have APs so we weren't too upset.

Thanks for the tips about Desert Inn. Its helpful that you were able to check it out and get some perspective on it. I don't like the parking situation. One spot per room? No way would that work for our litter of ladies we like to put into one room. I would like to be closer to the park, but the safety of leaving the place on Harbor should also be considered.

Glad you and your DD had a great weekend.

I've already had my AP for a year and I still don't know how to take it easy.

Now I know that if I want to have a good time at DLR I need to go with Amy and Stacie because they know what's up :thumbsup2

There are still days were I go all commando. But I have also learned to take it easy and enjoy everything. The first time I took DBF to DL he was all about the rides and thats it. Took a few times to get him to realize there is so much more to do. Now we enjoy the entire park. He enjoys the shows, the shops, all the little things like hidden mickeys and other surprises that can be seen. Him and I were just talking about this while waiting for the parade yesterday. He actually thanked me for opening his eyes to everything else that DL has to offer.

It will come in time. You need to stop and smell the roses girl.

Checking in here...

We had such a nice day! We went to SeaWorld and I cannot tell you how laid back and enjoyable this park is. We bought an annual pass ($59 thru AAA) and have three dates planned over the next six months. The landscaping and walkways are unbelieveable. I thought DL was spectacular, SW rivals it - in fact the plants and trees are far more beautiful. We had lunch with Shamu and it was so much fun:). It was nice to enjoy with DH & DD - nice family bonding day for sure. :thumbsup2

Of course my first love is DL, but this was really, really nice. Bad news is I ate way too much bad food, starting with a Carls Jr burrito on the way out of town, then onto a buffet lunch with several desserts I had to try and ending with the deep dish pizza we ordered from home (and devoured every bite I might say). Heavy sigh. Back to Lean Cuisines and cabbage tomorrow.:sad1:

Mary Jo, what a special day with Nick. I love those times with grown children. I relish them in fact.
Cheryl, I can't wait to hear more about your trip - I'm off to bed, talk to you all tomorrow.:)

We took the kids to Seaworld over the summer and really had a great time. Its not something we like to go all the time, but every once in a while we enjoy it. Did you get to feed the animals? That's a treat.

glad you had a great DL trip and enjoyed your stay. good tip on the parking issue.

no tiara--I'm not that brave! BTW--news from home is that kitty is holding his own--with a lot of TLC of course. He's actually eating a bit on his own.

MMMM. Maybe I'll have to get one of those mini tiaras for my actual birthday. . . .

Glad your kitty is doing alright.

ANd you should have worn your tiara. Not many times you can you know.

I am so jealous!! And for everyone, here's the picture Cheryl sent me:

Definitely a cutie!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

What a cutie! That would have been a great meal no matter what!

Sarah has a Sea World Pass and goes all the time. She raves about the place. Maybe one time you'll run into her. I was only there once over 20 years ago.

Yes, you heard me right........ cabbage and beans at the same time - with TWO GUYS in the house :scared1: Lordy, what was I thinking??? :confused3 I believe it's going to be a loud evening here :rolleyes1
LOL
I hope your ears and nose have recovered from last night!

We had yummy, greasy, pizza. Visited with friends.
Mmmmm, yummy, greasy pizza and friends are always a good combo. Can't wait to see the pics. :goodvibes

We did see the parade, cute, but I wouldn't need to wait for it again.
I watched the youtube links to it and was very disappointed. That's not a parade! :sad2:

I think about you guys even during the day when I'm doing "other" things, so please know that even though I may not be posting comments, you ARE in my thoughts.

Does anyone have a link to the zazzle site to order t-shirts with the Tink logo - can we still order them? Even though the trip is over, I really like the design & would like to get it.
Awww, thanks. We know you are busy, just pop in whenever you can. Sorry about the situation at work not going the way you'd hoped. That is frustrating.

Here is the Zazzle link, but I can't remember which font or color we used. I didn't order one, so maybe someone who did can help with that. http://www.zazzle.com/collections/d...2&dsny_ctgy1=196585245274592189&paging_page=2

I sent Stacielee a pic from my phone--and yes, I am wearing my birthday button so Jeremy sang Joyeux Anniversaire to me!
Good for you on wearing your button! :thumbsup2

Glad you had fun!
Thanks for the info on the parking. I can see how that could be a real issue for those sharing a room and each driving a car. One space obviously wouldn't work at all. I seem to recall reading something about that problem on tripadvisor now that you mention it.

For all my talk of staying someplace new, I'll still probably end up at HoJo. I am a creature of habit, and at least I know the hotel, and feel comfortable there. I'll just stick with a premium room from now on though.

We had such a nice day! We went to SeaWorld and I cannot tell you how laid back and enjoyable this park is.
And I cannot tell you how jealous I am!! ;)
I love Sea World and San Diego. Ruben and I used to go there ALL the time when we were dating. That was "our" place. We used to talk about living in San Deigo, and working at Sea World. I wanted to be a seal trainer. One year he bought me a pin that said Sea World Seal Trainer on it. :lovestruc LOL

Sadly, we haven't been back in ages. I miss it so much.
I'm glad you had fun. :goodvibes

Anyway mom is going with me and we are going to have lunch first since it is downtown and there are some nice restaurants down there.
Enjoy your lunch with mom!

It was snowing here yesterday! Our kids have spring break this week for crying out loud! Where's the spring? Maybe we should buy a snowmobile or some new skiing equipment for all of us.......I'm fairly certain that it would then become 70 degrees and sunshine almost instantly. :goodvibes
LOL That would probably work! And then you'd have it for next year. I talked to my Grandma in MI this morning and they got another 4 inches of snow over night. Ick! :scared:

I'm glad to hear Ryan is feeling better.

I am so jealous!! And for everyone, here's the picture Cheryl sent me:

I agree. DL has so much to offer besides just the rides. I love taking time to explore and just soak up the atmosphere.

Hi Trudi, always good to see you here. :goodvibes
Lucky Sarah! You should go back sometime with her. Do a mother/daughter trip to San Diego. That would be fun. :)

I watched the youtube links to it and was very disappointed. That's not a parade! :sad2:

Try waiting for a hour for it. The waiting wasn't so bad. DBF and I both love to people watch, plus we were sitting on the ground, against a rail so we had some back support, and sipping on a yummy frozen lemonade. Plus since during the week we are so busy, we got to talk and catch up on things and make plans for the following week. But yeah, we waited an hour for it. I have pics that I will try to post later. If you don't mind, I may put them onto the shutterfly account. For some reason its easier for me to post pics from there. Let me know though.

I tend to be the same way too. Although I would love to have a shorter walk back to the room at night. And the premium room would be nicer.

And I cannot tell you how jealous I am!! ;)

That is so sweet about it being "your" place. Too cute. Awwww!

I am such a dork. I am just now listening to the CD that Jane made. For some reason, I didn't realize it was totally different than the copy I gave her. (Being blond and all. :rolleyes1 )
There are like 20 songs not on there that were on the copy I gave her. (Mostly song choices that people had PMed to me.) I didn't even realize she had taken those out and put in others until today when I finally put it in to listen! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Shows how observant I am. :rotfl:
It's so fun and makes me want to be back at Disney. :cool1:

Anyway, I hope you are all having a good Monday so far. One more week until my kids are on Spring Break and I cannot wait. I am looking forward to sleeping in as much as they are. ;)

So your kids get the week before Easter? DD gets the week after Easter. I get the week before. Thankfully, my instructor figured that lots of families get the week after, so she is not having class that week to give us an extra break. Yeah! But she is giving us a bigger assignment instead.

And yeah, not very observant. lol

Actually that sounds really nice. Your time spent waiting, I mean. That's why I don't mind waiting for Fantasmic sometimes. It's just time to chill. We always get drinks, some dinner, and just hang out. Although last time on the ladies trip it was a little more chilly then it usually is when we go. lol

Feel free to post away on the Shutterfly account. It doesn't have to be just trip pics. Whatever pics you want to share with the group. :thumbsup2

I'm interested to see it in person, but I know I won't like it as well as the others. A parade is supposed to be slow moving, with great dancers, lots of neat costumes, and elaborate floats, like the fun Christmas parade which I love.
Not these "floats" that almost look thrown together, and stopping points along the way that allow only a few to have some interaction, while others get nothing more then a quick wave as the characters and performers practically run by. (At least that's the impression I'm getting from what I've read and seen posted :confused3 )

Yep, the week before. We don't have any plans since Ruben still has to work, but it will be nice to have a week off from early mornings rushing to get ready, and late nights finishing up homework.

That's nice your instructor isn't having class that week. Although the bigger assignment sounds scary! :scared1: ;)

GOOD MORNING LADIES!:cool1:

My parents are coming home from their winter condo today (they spend the winter in Lake Havasu City, AZ). My mom told me that I'm not going to recognize my dad. I suppose I should prepare myself. But really, how bad could he look after 6 months.:confused3

Anyway, I've got to go to the store and get a few groceries to get them through until tomorrow. (I know they'll be too tired to go to the store today.)

Ryan is doing better. He's still not eating much.....well, hardly at all is more like it. But we'll keeping working on it little by little.

It was snowing here yesterday! Our kids have spring break this week for crying out loud! Where's the spring? Maybe we should buy a snowmobile or some new skiing equipment for all of us.......I'm fairly certain that it would then become 70 degrees and sunshine almost instantly. :goodvibes
Hi Capri!

Sounds like your Mom and Dad are coming home too early if it is still snowing!!

I hope your Dad is OK. I know he has been pretty ill right? You are a good DD to get them some groceries to come home to.

Ryan sure has been a sick little boy. Poor thing. Keep shoving the food at him. Give him ice cream and all kinds of things he likes, just to get some calories in him. Maybe not the best advice in the world, but I'm sure he has lost alot of weight. :guilty: I remember when kids used to have their tonsils out, and they always would get to have ice cream to their hearts content. Now a days, they don't even take tonsils out anymore. Anyways, I know you are doing everything the best you can do. Take care!

What a cutie! That would have been a great meal no matter what!

Yeah--add a French accent to those eyes and ooh la la!

Hi all--

just a quick note before I head off to Hollywood Studios. I had a leisurely breakfast at the resort and then took a scooter "walk" around the entire resort. Gorgeous day here. Then I came back to do a little woek before heading out!

Hope everyone's having a great Monday!

I was thinking that too when I read her post, she is a good daughter. :goodvibes

And Capri, I also hope your Dad is doing okay.

Yep, it's official. You had the best start to Monday morning out of all of us. ;) Sounds lovely, and I wish I was right there with you! Enjoy your day.

I think the parade looks like alot of fun for kids, (and me too for that matter,):rolleyes1 I kind of like those kind of things. I even like the HSM parade. My Grandsons would love it, cuz of all the characters and dancing. But like Stacie said, a one time affair, and thrown together. DL better have plans for humdinger of a one soon come the 55th. That is what the rumors are saying. Hope it is true.

It is really the pits, when the fireworks are getting cut, and then they put on a cheap parade.

Did you guys ever watch WDW's new parade on youtube? That one looks worse. I wonder if they have cut out part of the Wishes Fireworks?

I rather have a real parade than a street show. I do not have this high on my list of things to do. More like down in the sewer.

N ap time for me, lets see fi I can get 3 hours to day.

Will make ressies for Storyteller s for mothers day. She wil like that.

So upset over Bavaria quitting disboards over hate speech against fat people and the disabled. I wish I could find the threa and give them a piece of my mind and some other body parts. I am staying for now but if I here of more anti fat people manure I may just stop posting. Like anyone cares about Bavaria or anyone.

I am in a major funk right now over this. Good night ladies and if you see the tag fairy tell her that my tag is off limits, lol.
I have the disAbilities cloak of protection from evil. I am protected from all the meanies of the world now. What friends they are to give me that magic cloak of protection..

Oh yeah, my kids would love it too. And I like the HSM parade and the other one they used to have.....what was it called? The Block Party one? My kids got pulled out to dance with the characters in that one and had a blast.

But to me, it's not a "parade" like the ones they've had previously, and after seeing it once, I kind of doubt I'd sit for it again, where as the Christmas parade, I will happily wait over an hour for. ;)

It sucks the fireworks are shortened, and at your favorite spot!
I'll have to check out the WDW parade. It must really be bad!!

I loved the Block Party Bash! That was one of my faves. The Pixar one is alright. My all time fave was the "Lion King" parade. I used to watch it almost everytime I went to the parks. Loved it.

Oh yes, that was a really good one. And that one stopped along the way at certain points, and the dancers/acrobats put on a good show, but it was still a real parade.
