And gals, thanks so much for being great ladies that make sure I don't feel responsible for the miserable result that we had. I do sort of wonder if there wasn't something else that I could have said, that would have resulted in a different experience, but overall, I just blame Disney.

:grouphug: Tracey, I have NO DOUBT that you told them exactly what we wanted. I think they just gave us what they had and didn't go the extra 'Disney'mile for us. We were probably the low men on their totum poles. You know we love you!

Tracey,

You *Are* Responsible for the WONDERFUL time we had on the Lillybelle.

It was the Highlight of my mother's trip. As her Father and my Dad's Father both worked for the Railroad and she has lots of railroad collectibles.

So Thank You for making that happen!

NO worries at all. I just need your mailing address so I can send you back some money! Just email it over to me when you have a sec.

Tracey: I know--from all of the work you did pre-trip--that YOU did everything you could. Too bad Disney didn't. I wasn't expecting much and actually was pleasantly surprised that we cut it short! And the Lily Belle was the best time I have had on it (that was my third time). Glad I could share it with you and the other gals!

Big Hugs for Miss CheryL who is *so* not oLd.

A raspa is snow cone in spanish and Hater Aid is like KooL aid, but for when you are hatin' on something.

My grandma made me a raspado and it was GROSS. It had fruit in it. Uhm, I prefer pure sugar in liquid form please!

Ok, so slightly off-topic, but after all of the excitement of the past few weeks I am finally trying to get organized for my WDW trip NEXT WEEK!! :scared1:

I am still organizing what clothes to take, but have to finish tonite and tomorrow because I am shipping a box on Thursday. (or maybe Friday) to get there in time for me next week. :laundy: I am staying the first night at Port Orleans French Quarter (no DVC availability) and then moving the next morning to Saratoga Springs. I was originally booked into one of the Epcot resorts (which I cancelled because I was taking Mom) but I decided today to forget trying to move because we couldn't get it confirmed by Thursday and I don't want my clothes going to one resort and me at another! So I was finally able to arrange for Magical Express today, and rented the scooter (to be delivered to SSR on 3/27). I'm actually glad it worked out this way--since I will be getting to SSR early on Friday morning I will hopefully be able to get my room location request (or get them to change it!).

Thursday night I plan to go to DTD and just chill, and then move to the new resort and drop off my carry-on the next a.m. Not sure what I will do all that first day. One priority this time is to check out resorts (I've only seen SSR) so just may do that.

I am hoping to have a small carry-on only to take on the plane with me. This is not a direct flight, and I'm somewhat stressing over that--but at least I won't have to go to LAX. (Although my flight leaves at 6:46 a.m. so I will have to get to the airport early.)

This is making it VERY hard to work!!!!!!

Omg Cheryl, it's next week?!
Have lots of fun and take tons of pictures for us. I'm SO jealous!

I know, it's come much too fast. For all of my advance planning I feel wholly unprepared!

Ok--do I or do I not get a birthday button while I'm there? Will I feel too weird walking around by myself celebrating my birthday? Will I feel like the world's biggest loser? (well, other than those people on the reality show?) :rotfl2: Then again, maybe I'll get free dessert at one of the table-service meals . . . . .

Oh, and if anyone asks....your family is in the bathroom/on TOT/napping at the hotel/on a tour. ;)

You are not responsible at all. Its not your fault we were given a dud.
You voiced our concerns and well Disney came up empty handed.
But thanks for all you did!

Wear your button with pride. And top it off with a tiara.

Cheryl, how exciting!!! Get the button...if it bugs you you can just take it off (that's what I did halfway through the day at DL when I wore my b'day button), but it's better to have it than not!

I have a ticket for a whole week of admission to Universal Studios Orlando but I must be present with the ticket. Wow great thing to have if ever I win the lottery.:lmao: Disney sent me the cutest card welcoming to anual passdom, lol.

One thing Lorealle told me, and I remember posting it but it was like three threads ago, LOL, was that each person/room needed to have their own Ent card and be prepared to show it. She said they were really cracking down on that. And in fact, this was the first time I was actually asked to show my card.

I still don't know if I will receive a credit or not, and I did show my card. They said to just check my statement. So we'll see. :confused3

I hope it works out for everyone, and I do think that since the rates became available while we were there, and they saw that some of us had the Ent rate for Sunday, upon check out they could have said do you want the Ent rate for the other nights and asked to see the card again.
Not that they had to do that, because that would have meant less money for them, but to keep repeat customers it just would have been a nice thing to do.
It would have been a nice thing to do!

Well.... I got a call back from Joanne, who told me that if I emailed or faxed her my Entertainment card, they would refund me.

And ladies she told me that because we all were calling them, (bugging them):rolleyes1 that her super decided to give it back to us. So call!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hyper:

Well, like I said, I am not going to ask again for it, it I don't get it, it's ok. But I did have to make the phone call to try!

Ok, lunch is over, back to work for me. Boo Hoo.
Oh, but wait, I need $$ to go to DL more often, so I guess working is a good thing.:goodvibes
Call them Linda!!:thumbsup2

Nope, I am running over there to check it out now...

Love that smiley.

I emailed Lorealle on behalf of the group--will let you know when I hear back. I DID show my Ent. Card when I checked in.
So did I.:headache:

OK Divas! I just booked the Kids Suite at the HoJo for October 21-25. She said that they are starting to sell them in July. They are all HWY facing, and price is based on time of year. The kids room is completely seperate from the parents room, and there is a door that can be closed. TWO BATHROOMS! :thumbsup2 They will have the new bedding and a fridge and microwave. The kid's room is pirate themed. I am paying$113.90 a night with our Disboard discount of 15%. The room will sleep 6, so if you can stand HWY side, I bet it would be a great room for those who really want to pack them in. NO roll away in the kids room allowed, but a crib is. There is an AP discount of 20% as usual. I'm excited to check them out!
Sounds really cool! :cool1: I might have to look into that deal!

Wow... it's all so tempting.
And i'm like a kid in the candy shop when it comes to Disney.

But i need to be still and remember that i could pay off my sons condo with that, or save it for my grandchildrens college.

So sadly, this monkey butler won't be able to get the DVC. Although i want it i want it i want it with alllllllllllllllllllllllll my VeRuCa SaLt hearT!:rotfl:
Veruca Salt!! Perfect!!:rotfl2:

He's a man, and men can't be trusted.

I need to to decide if we are going to make a family trip Disneyland for Christmas. We all enjoyed it so much.

I guess I should start saving for that. I already have 1 free airplane ticket.. just 5 more to go:rotfl:
We'd like to go in Demember too. DL is absolutely the best then!! :cloud9:

YOu lucky ducky!! So the one and only time, I've been to WDW was at the FQ. It was really nice and not so big to get around.

I'd wear it with pride! :thumbsup2

Heather, I think it's the room that was right in front of us when we got off the elevator and faced away from the window (it's on the 4th floor, right?) so it's not really the highway side of the building, if you ask me. You did ask me, didn't you?

That depends on how you travel now or plan to travel in the near future...

For us, to break even would take longer, b/c we haven't yet spent huge amounts of money at Disney hotels. We plan to, however! ha ha, well, not really...we don't really have much overwhelming need to stay at a place like the Grand Floridian...we would probably be happy at Moderates. So our average FUTURE cost for vacations there would be lower than some, and it would take more of our future average vacations, or the cost of them, to equal the cost of DVC.

These are numbers from just yesterday. The minimum to get into DVC directly is 160 points. Right now the points are $112 each. Right now, and I'll just state it for Bay Lake Towers and Animal Kingdom's villas, b/c that's actually what we're looking at and it's what is for sale TODAY, not at the end of this month, there are incentives listed here. (easier than listing them out)

According to the guide, the required downpayment is $1720. If you did that and then financed it all through them, in a 10 year loan at 14+& interest (aka worst case scenario, BUT know that you can prepay at any time without penalty...it's simple, not compound interest), the monthly payment for that loan is $258.26.

There are also maintenance fees, and he estimated those to be 50.93 per month, though I'm not sure what resort he used for those. And those change every year.

If you think about 50 years of Disney vacations and estimate how much you'd be spending on those...and compare it even to that worst case scenario, you can see that the worst case financing TOTAL over the 10 years is far less than you'd be spending on 50 years of Disney vacations.

Since we have family out there (living in small places where we wouldn't want to stay and so would be at WDW anyway) and we adore Disney, it really makes sense, even in that worst case full financing (other than the down payment) scenario.

I would love to have a DVC, and I have money sitting in an account I could use, but not sure I could talk DH into it. He's all about cheap! And I think the hardest thing would be the 50-year deed. We own another timeshare and it's a lifetime deed that can be willed/transferred to someone else when we die, so it's basically a forever deed. Having one that is only 50 years would be against everything he stands for (remember, he's CHEAP!!!)

I know a couple of Divas around here ChaCha, and I just took my test to try it out. I'm worried I didn't do very well. :sad2: I read everything, but they asked some HARD questions. I hope I did well enough to try it out.

I'm feeling a little better today. Everyday has something new that's bothering me. I'm really really tired today. (My littlest had me up until 2:30am and then woke up at 7:30am!) I do not hurt as much though, so that is good!

DH now tells me that he promised to meet his BFF (men can have those right?!?) in New Orleans in the fall for the Saints/Cowboys game. So, now I'm on pins and needles waiting for April to find out the NFL schedule. Knowing my luck, out of the 17 weeks available, they will be playing one of the two weekends I want to come meet with you all! I hope it all works out.

Did you use any of us as your referral? I know Beth and January do it, as well as me. Callie did, and Cristabel did, but they don't anymore. I don't blame them sometimes. It's changed quite a bit since I started last July.

I'm glad you're feeling better, my DS is doing great; I think the antibiotics he had for strep helped him out a lot!

When did you say you were going to be up here, March 31? I can't remember. Hopefully we'll have time to get together; I wonder what Callie is doing on that day??

I'm so jealous!! I think you need a personal assistant to go with you (pick me!) and I won't even charge you for my services! I can do your laundry :laundy: make you drinks :drinking1 help you get your tiara on princess: See, I'm an all-purpose personal assistant!

Hey! That room by the elevator is the queen suite. Callie told me that she stayed there once, and really liked it! The suite I booked is the new kids suite. They are all in building 1 but all are HWY facing.

Did you call the HoJo about a refund by chance? I forgot to ask when I was on the phone with then today. :headache: I was too excited about the new pirate themed kids suites!

I didn't use a referrral. I didn't know that I could! Is there a way to do it now or is it too late? Let me know what you find out. I'd love to help you out.

We are coming on the 31st. OUr appointment is from 1-3:30pm though. I worry about getting to you at a decent enough time. DH would have to work on Wed. Is there somewhere easy to get to that we could meet at for an early dinner? Callie, what are you doing that day?

OK, that's all for now!

I don't know how far you are from Arizona Mills, but it's easy for me to find and on our way home. Would you want to meet somewhere around there?

I'm just glad you have a timeshare you like!

My mom and stepdad owned RCI and it was useless! They had their honeymoon at some JUNKY "resort" in the Bahamas and ate salads all week, and bad salads at that, b/c that was the ONLY vegetarian food there. They tried to get me into the ONE in Ireland for a lower cost "yay you're a chiropractor" trip and it had absolutely no availability (I wasn't even going at any sort of peak season) so they had to get me a B&B package with the airline. And so on. They dumped it and bought some condo timeshare in the Adirondacks that they ended up liking but RARELY rented to others... And hubby's parents had an RV timeshare type thing...only problem? MIL absolutely HATED going RV'ing! And if she didn't go then there was no one to cook, so they hadn't used it in years. When he died their dues were so high that MIL couldn't cover it before we could find a buyer, and we had to just deed it back to the timeshare place. :( :( :(

After seeing all that hassle in our families, if we were to do any, it would be DVC.

Of course we'd probably have to lie to them all and just say "oh we rented points", b/c I'm sure they would think we had absolutely lost our minds.

CheryL... when is your birthday? How fun that You are getting to go on a grand adventure. Disney World is so Big!

What is the first thing You will do at the parks?

I have a question about annual passes.... does your annual pass at Disneyland work at Disneyworld?:confused3

Heather... you need some good chicken and dumplings and banannanananananananana Pudding with the soft vanilla wafers at the bottom.:goodvibes

That does sound good! I might have to send DH to the store after work for some banana pudding and nilla wafers. Good idea!

Oh, and I love dumplins! I don't feel like cooking right now though...
