Do ALL girls wear the costume dresses?? We are going in June and I cant imagine the 3 girls (6, 4, 2) wearing hot costumes. We bought them pretty purple matching dresses with spaghetti straps.

Now I wonder though, will THEY be out of place NOT in a costume??????????? :confused3

I know they can change out of them but who feels like lugging 3 costumes around after the luncheon???????????

Any thoughts?????

No, I think only about 1/2 wore costumes that I saw when we went last October. My DD (2 at the time) wore a Disney Store shirt with all the characters on it that day. It was cute because I remember Belle saying - "Look, all my friends are on your shirt!"

We did the Princess Storybook brkfst in Norway and i'd say about 1/2 wore them there too.

If you DO want to do a costume though, I suggest getting the "Dress up" clothes from the toy section of any store instead of a full-fledge costume. They are really light weight and can go over regular clothes. My DD has a Snow White one that is a skirt and top that velcros in the back. It came in a box with shoes and jewelry - About $15 at Walmart.

Search for "Disney Princess Costume Play Dress UP Set" in Google/Froogle and and you'll see what I'm talking about :) There are actually quite a few on eBay.

My girls wore their ordinary clothes and beautiful crowns which I had bought before we went to disney.( Not Disney Crowns) No other children were wearing crowns and only a few were wearing princess dresses. Because the princess made such a fuss over my two girls headwear they wanted to wear them all day...which they did. We had lots of "G`day princess" and curtsying fron CM`s and members of the public all day...Great Fun

I have attended twice at CRT, less then 20% had the costumes on. We are going in October with 5, 6 and 8 year old and are going to secretly pack crowns for them to wear at breakfast. I have read about parents bringing regular parkwear clothes and having the girls change from their costumes later in the day. We can't wait to see their faces when the open "the royal invitation to breakfast" that Cinderella is sending each of them before we leave for WDW. The months of planning the event is SO much fun for us adults.......

Well, I feel better now!!! lol To be honest, all the girls HAVE princess costumes but the thought of the wearing them in June is too much. And, I think truly, I am leary about carting them around the park in a bag the rest of the day!!! :flower: I did see really pretty little tiaras in WalMart that I was thinking about getting instead. Maybe I will do that!! Thanks for the tips!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wizard:

We just did CRT in May and I'd say only a handful of girls had dresses on this time - before when we have done it about 1/2 were wearing princesses dresses so I was surprised to see only a few this time. My DD didn't want to wear one and she still had fun! Enjoy!!

Maybe it was an unusual day when we went to CRT, but I only remember one table of little girls in costumes. They were adorable, and I'm sure they received some extra attention for the effort, but I have no desire to have my daughters do this.

I'd suggest a princess tee-shirt or sundress. It's much more practical.

Just did the princess lunch in Norway in only a few girls were wearing princess dresses. My daughter wore hers only for the lunch. She absolutely loved wearing it but it was a total pain to carry around all day (even in our stroller basket) because I had to carry it on all rides/attractions so it wouldn't get stolen. I will definitely skip the princess dress next time!

My dd's love to dress up for the princess meals. But it did become a pain to pack the dressess around the parks... until a fellow diser advised me that you could actually roll the dresses up into a gallon size ziploc bag. It works! I now use it to pack all dd's royal wardrobe for our trips. The dresses fluff up nicely. I think I have been able to roll 3 dresses in each bag for my older dd (8) and 4 dresses in each bag for younger dd (4). We also pack our share of princess t-shirts, too.

Just thought I'd add... US TOO!! lol, dd tho did lovingly look at the Princess dresses, and she has saved her money to buy one to wear to her next Princess bkfst - BUT... I agree, the crown was wonderful to wear!!! (and I bought her the dress off the internet, do a google search for Prestige Costumes, I bought a Deluxe Aurora for $35 - as opposed to $55+ and I know she'll wear her dress and we'll carry it, but it will be ok - its just one DD, one breakfast, one MNSSHP, one.... well , anyway!! Definately do the crown, and when your dd doesnt want to wear it, you wear it!! So much fun - trust me!!

Why not put the dress in a locker after the breakfast? Okay it's a bit of a trek back to the front of the park but one member of the psrty could do that while the rest go on a ride then you don't have to carry it round with you all day!

We often use the lockers as we go in November and leave warmer clothes there for the evening in case it turns cool!

I was there 5/20 and was also surprised how few girls were in their princess dresses. My girls didn't wear theirs and I was worried they would be upset that the other girls had them on. I counted a total of 4 girls in dresses. I was glad we didn't have the girls dress up...They didn't even mention it!

We were there May 16th and I honestly don't remember seeing any girls dressed up. I'm sure there were probably a few of them though. My dd had planned on dressing up, but decided against it.

When we did CRT in Dec 2004, less than half the girls were in princess dresses. I, too, was worried about her being the only one, but it wasn't an issue at all. DD wore a dress with Cinderella embroidered on the bodice, and all the princesses mentioned it. So I think any kind of princess-themed clothing or accessory would be fine.

Michaels has foam crowns for all of $1 or something. Add a few foam or crystal jewels with "ye olde glue gun" and you have something easy to pack, easy to carry that there is little guilt in tossing at at end of breakfast if you princess no longer wants it.

My daughter & her cousin wore T-shirts with a bunch of princesses on it. This was great because ALL the princesses spent time with them finding their picture and talking about it.

No, I don't think they will be out of plave at all. One trip the girls were n night gowns as well~ princess of course ;) and another to PS in EPCOT they wore princess hirts, not the gowns or night gowns.

We are travelling w/4 princesses (not to mention 3 princes) and my sil's and I are already planning the princess breakfast. They will wear their dress-up dresses as much as they want to the character meals. They are all "girly girls" and love to dress up (they have crowns too...not to mention wands :rotfl: !) and there is NO WAY they would pass up the chance!
