Hi again! 2 days in a row for me - quite impressive

I am currently at work, but obviously don't want to be. Going to head home early today and hang out with my doggie (a beagle). Hopefully that will put me in a better mood.

I am trying to talk 2 of my friends into committing to come in February. One is moving from FL to Vegas this fall, so I may be doing more Vegas trips soon too!!!

Sounds good! I think I will be clocking out a bit early too, thank goodness! I hope your friends will come on the trip! It is so fun! Maybe for the one moving to Vegas she can meet those girls first. Then they would deffinitely want to come because, let's face it, our Vegas girls rock!

Just jumping on to say have a great weekend. We are off to San Diego this weekend. DBF's sister, her BF and her 2 kids arrived this morning from New Mexico. They are staying for 8 days. The kids have never been to CA so we are taking them to Disneyland on Tuesday! DBF has something planned for the rest of the days but Tuesday's the only day I'm able to take off work to go with them.

Sara sounds like you are going to have fun with your BF's family! You are so lucky you live close and can go so often. I'm jealous Have fun!!

Went to work yesterday and our secretary was off so mom had Lynn fill in for her and the girls and I were there doing our normal thing and then we left when we were done and left Lynn there to work. She got a call from A&W that she has an interview next week so crossing our fingers that it works out!! At first she made it for the middle of the day on Tues but I reminded her that she had vacation bible school and not only did she make a committment to the church but she HAS to do this as her community service for her probation. She started to give me a bunch of crap about it and so did my mom but I reminded them both that Lynn loves to put off her responsibilities just like her community service at high school, she never DID finish that. And had she stayed in school she probably would have gotten an F in that. She can't just NOT follow through on this one because she will get in BIG trouble with probation. It is PART of her probation after all to complete this by the end of the 6 months and this is a perfect easy way to get it done! If she doesn't do THIS NOW it will be a LOT harder to find something later AND esp once she has a job! I told her that she just needed to call A&W right back and told them she forgot she had a committment and that time and I was SURE they would be understanding and would reschedule the interview for later in the day which OF COURSE they did. I am not stupid after all I HAVE interviewed before and had many jobs! YES she needs a job but she also needs to follow through with her committments first like her diploma and her probation. Plus it is going to be interesting because she is supposed to be home BY 10 and if they want her to work PAST 10 it is going to be interesting because technically she is not allowed to and I don't think she is going to want to tell them she is on probation. I don't know how she is going to get around THAT one. She may need to call her PO if she gets the job and ask them if it is ok. Shall be interesting that's for sure!

Anyway I hope she DOES get the job though cuz she needs to start contributing. She expects us to pay for her cell phone and all the junk that she wants and it's not happening. We told her we will pay for her food and necessities but that is it. If she wants that extra crap she is going to have to have a job for that.

Anyway Shane left last night with his buddies and the girls and I just hung out and relaxed and enjoyed a nice peaceful evening at home alone. Today I have to run out and run a loop and probably go to the grocery store. He just spent 250 at stupid sam's club and you would THINK that would be suffice but there are some things that we can't get at sam's. We always get our milk, bread and a few other items at the grocery store because we prefer it there. Plus some canned goods and a few other things that we can't get there. I MAY rent a few movies today too. I hadn't rented any in a WHILE and the other day I finally went in and the girls watched Coraline and really liked it and I watched Passengers, Gran Torino, Push and Watchmen.

I didn't really like Watchmen but I enjoyed all the others! There were SEVERAL others that I had wanted to rent though cuz it's been a long time since I have rented any movies so I want to go in and get a few more. I want to rent Valkyrie and I know there are some others that I want to see I just can't remember off the top of my head what the others are but I know there were others that I wanted to rent.

Anyway the girls and I are just mainly enjoying for the first time in a LONG while not having ANYTHING to do!

Tomorrow I have to take Lynn to a meeting at 4 for VBS but other than that nothing else going on. As I said next week the girls have VBS all week and I have work on Monday and Friday and Tues I have my prep for my test so I will prob be sticking close to home eventhough all it is is just fasting it is just easier to stay away from the public since being around food makes it harder when you can't eat. Then VERY early wed I have my test and I am hoping I don't feel crappy the rest of the day and that I will feel ok after that but MAINLY I am hoping he can give me something for my constant pain esp so I am not miserable for our trip!

But once I can manage to get through Tues and Wed then I am home free!!! Then I can start packing and getting ready. After that I only have to work Fri and Monday and we leave EARLY on wed the 5th!!!

Hi everyone--I am ready for July to be over.

I got a call this morning from the daughter of my assistant--Francine. She said her Mom had been in the hospital since July 11th! (I had been calling and emailing and was getting worried.) and that she was not doing well, was on a respirator and the doctors were telling them there was no hope--so she wanted to know if I wanted to come before they took her off the respirator.

Of course, I jumped in the car and went to the hospital where Francine's family had gathered--it was very sad. I got to meet her Mom and Dad and see her daughters again. I didn't meet her husband because he was in with her the entire time and when I was in there I didn't want to interrupt him.

It was very very sad. She was only 40. I left the area when they took out the tube and joined her daughters and Mom and Dad in the waiting room--about five minutes later someone came and told us she was gone.

I know she is in a better place and I know that God must have a reason he took her but it seems so unfair. She was one of the sweetest people I had ever met--and had such high hopes.

Please say a prayer for her and her family.

I am so sorry to hear about Francine. 40 is just too darn young. My prayers are with her family and you too. It is so difficult to accept these things. Big Hugs for you. Tracey

Oh Cheryl I am so sorry to hear this!! That is REALLY scary! That is two years younger than I am! Geez how tragic for that family! Many many prayers to them and you. Cancer is such an awful awful thief of so many wonderful people. I saw how it robbed my great aunt of her life. She was such a beautiful person and she slowly got sicker and sicker and it is such a cruel disease. In the end it was a blessing when she passed but like your friend she was much too young! Stories like yours always remind me of losing my aunt. She was a WONDERFUL person as your friend sounds wonderful as well. Again I am so very sorry and many many thoughts and prayers to all involved!!
