*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Hey everyone!
Let's see, Friday I was up early (back at home) because my grandparents were taking us out for breakfast to DuPar's. After breakfast we shopped at TJ Maxx where I found a cute, short-sleeved turquoise & black checkered shirt. We dropped of Anais at mathnasium and headed to the Northridge Mall. My mom had return something to Sephora so she and my grandparents headed out. I went to look for a new bathing suit. Luckily I found a pretty brown and pink suit at Sears but it was still $50!

We picked up Anais and went home so my mom could pack her stuff because she was going to a church sleepover/ VBS. I stayed home with Osita until my came to pick me up to go to Costco. After Costco we went to target where I found my dorm bedding, sheets, and mattress topper. I also found a cute pajamas set that had owls on it. Yesterday I bought my other pair of tenny shoes and a super comfy pair of Speedo flipflops.

I still have a VERY long list of supplies I need but I still have time.

I'm here at my aunt's again, just finished showering after a nice swim!~

Hey girls!!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday.

Today my parents, DBF and I went to the Dodger game. We had a freaking blast, but it was SO HOT!!! I got so sunburned from my knees up to my thighs. I look like a big red freak. My legs from the knees down didn't get ANY sun, but my feet got this crazy tan line from my sandals. And of course DBF and my Mom get this nice golden tan, while I got baked. Ohh, and the Dodgers lost..

I'm off to take a shower, be back later tonight to check in again!

Michelle emailed me today sometime to tell me that her computer is toast so she has very limitied access, also the Bar. So she wanted me to let everyone know that she won't be on until possibly later this week.

Anyone else have a message to pass on, let me know. I worry about losing my veterianary gig, so might need some practice as a secretary!!! lol With the way I type, I am in trouble!!

Hello Miss AmySue! I swear I was just thinking about you today and how you haven't posted in awhile....glad you popped in, we missed you.

Welcome to you, Daisy (what an appropriate name for a bunch of Disney crazed gals, huh?). Just follow along and jump in and post when you feel like it, we are all pretty friendly.

As for the Ent Rate, you must call Hojo's directly and ask for in house reservations. They will have the rate available through Feb 28 at this point. Then you have to get an Ent Card prior to check in. Beware that the cards are valid from Nov to Nov, so buying one now would expire in Nov 2009, before our trip.

Sorry about the sunburn Courtney, but glad you had a good time anyway at the game.
And congrats on the swimsuit Cristabel, they are so hard to find - one that fits well anyway - that I gladly pay whatever the price is just to have it. My suit on "Clearance" at Lands End was about $60, so I know what you mean.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!! I will call today and book a room today and then figure out roommate stuff. I am going to try to get one of my real life friends that is now long distance to come with me....if that is okay.

I currently live in Ohio right outside of Columbus. We moved here from the panhandle of Florida about a year ago. While in Florida we took advantage of the discounts for Disneyworld. I have only been to Disneyland once and I don't remember it. I think that I was about 4 years old.

I have a 6 year old daughter that is all about the Princesses and a 3 year old son that loves Lightening McQueen. We also have 3 cats and have just adopted 2 puppies. I love them to pieces, but a break would be great!

And yes, Daisy is my real name! I was named after my grandmother. Now, if I had just married a Donald! But alas, my prince is named Chris!

Welcome Daisy! You will love this group and I can't wait to meet you in Feb. This will be my 2nd trip and I can't wait either. It is a lot of fun and a GREAT group of gals!

Hey Amy! Good to see you! Hope everything works out with the job! I tell you this stupid economy has just got us all in an uproar. Is there anywhere else you could go if you lose your job? I hope it all turns out ok! Will be thinking good thoughts for you!!

We had an exciting evening last night. Shane got home from his trip and had a good time and then we were sitting in the family room watching a video and Shelby comes running in from the living room and said someone shot the window. I couldn't believe she was right but she WAS!! There was a bullet hole in our front window and it was shattered! I was livid. I knew what had happened. We live on an acre and we have some houses that are in front of ours and the neighbor DIRECTLY in front of us is always shooting off his pellet gun. We caught him before and Shane had words with him because of the girls and all. I don't want ANYONE shooting ANY kind of weapon around my kids or animals. ESP aimed towards my house!!!

Well sure as heck this time he really did it. Not only did it break my window it came within INCHES of hitting my daughter. I mean the window is one thing but I was livid that he could have hit and possibly injured or even killed Shelby. We called the police and 2 Sherrifs and the highway patrol came out. Of course he ran into his house and then totally denied everything. He did show the cops his gun but they said there is no way to prove balistics on a pellet gun and since there was no eye witness there was nothing they could do. They DID warn him and told him he BETTER not be shooting that thing in a residential neighborhood or else. I am still just furious. If I EVER hear that thing or see him again he is done! I am just still SO upset though at what COULD have happened to my daughter. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Anyway THEN Lynn was at her meeting for vacation bible school and when she came home she checked our mailbox at the street where we DON'T usually get mail and there was a bill from the hospital where they took her when she ran away. We ALREADY got one for 300 which I took care of and last night we got one for 2300!!! I was like WHAT!!!

So today I had to call the hospital and fight THAT mess. I tell you it is always something. Shane did have a talk with her last night though and told her that she is no longer allowed to just take off like she has been doing and just go for hours at a time. If she puts in an app she can CALL to check on it. She doesn't need to keep going OUT to check on it cuz we are not stupid we know that is just an excuse she is using to sneak out and mess around. He also told her that she only has these 6 months that she has to toe the line and then she is free to move out and do whatever she pleases but while she is here she needs to respect our rules and respect US. If not there will be heck to pay. So we shall see. Hopefully she gets this job on Tues and that will give her something to do that is productive! Plus it will give her the means to be able to move out when she turns 18.

Anyway I am off to work today and it is the first day of VBS for the girls so they are really excited. Then tomorrow is the dreaded fast day. BLECK! I just want these next two days to be over with! UGH!

I'll be in San Francisco/Vallejo the 7th-9th so I'll just miss you. We'll be in Shasta from the 3rd through the 6th for my grandmas 80th birthday and then we will be stopping in San Francisco and Vallejo on the way home to do some touristy stuff.

Katie.. i love san francisco..don't you? the very first time i went there it was like i knew my way around. it's so beautiful.. i could live there very easily. you know i'm the traveling fool. a few years ago my husband and i talked about how we never knew traveling would be such a big part of our life but it is. we really enjoy it. we also went to california over the 4th of july.. i think we traveled over 6000 miles this month..

may your grandmother be blessed this year and always. i bet she will be so happy to see you! you are one of the sweetest people. one of my close friends mother is not doing well at all and i am going to visit with them for a week. she is like a 2nd mother to me.

Courtney.. what kind of lotion did you use? this last trip..we used bannananananananananana boat 50.. and it really worked.. we would put it on the babies in the morning and no problem all day. one year i just picked up whatever brand.. and boy did we get sunburned. OuChiE! drink lots of water and eat watermelon and take vitamin e oil capsules and stand on your head.. aaahhh haha..gotcha!

I LOVE my grandma. Even though she is turning 80, she is so funny. My kids love seeing her because she's fun to be around & since my kids are the oldest of the great grandkids, she's always playing cards with them and teaching my kids new card games (she's getting them ready for Vegas ).

She hasn't seen the baby yet (except for pictures). She was down here for Christmas but left 2 days before the baby was born (on the 29th). So she's excited to see the youngest of the great grandbabies.

I hope you all had a nice weekend. We had such a great time!!!! It was so nice to see everyone again. Jane's birthday dinner was really nice. There were 8 of us there; myself, Jane, Wendy, Theresa, Marcie, Tracey, Stacie and her friend Nicki. And we all had our tiaras on. Too fun.
After dinner, at Kahunaville we got to meet up with Vicki and Bob. She's so sweet, pretty too! Can't wait to spend more time with her.

The weekend went by so quickly. I can't wait till they all come out again. Hopefully in November. I don't think I'll be doing any kind of TR. At least not now. I'm so tired. But I did put a few pics up on FB if anyone wants to check them out.

Hi there Miss Dawn... I wasn't feeling terrific this weekend but am fine now. Your schedule and mine are the same - we travel at the same time! I was on the east coast over July 4, when you were here. Now I will be traveling to parts of Canada when you are gone, not sure how much internet access I will have. I am happy to hear you're going to SF, I love that area but rarely get up there as its so far away (for being Calif).

What a wonderful group. Isn't Vicki the best? And Bob too.

I mentioned we were seeing Potter. I liked it more than DH did. The production values, there's so much to see on the screen. And I love Emma and Daniel. I wish there had not been so much focus on the character actor, it's hard for him to hold the screen the way a Fiennes can, but overall if you like the Potter series, see it.

The review on G force was a surprise. The trailer is so cute but reviewers are really not liking the film, either for kids or adults.

Thanks guys for the thoughts. Yeah the neighbor is an older guy and we have been finding all these dead birds and thought it was the cats but now we are adding it all up and we now think that he has been shooting birds and that is how he ended up shooting out our window.

What makes me so angry is that the police really didn't do anything and that it could have been a LOT worse if it had hit Shelby. That is what upset me so much. She was SO close to where it hit and I have heard stories before of people getting hurt and even killed by pellet guns if the circumstances are right. It just was VERY upsetting and what makes it worse was we caught him doing it before and Shane yelled at him about it and then for him to do it AGAIN!! All I can say is he BETTER not even THINK about doing it again or else! NOW he is on notice with the cops. They KNOW about it now.

Anyway thanks for the thoughts and hopefully that is the LAST of it! Now I just have to deal with the window! It is a 100 year old window so we can't just easily replace it but honestly I am just glad that Shelby is ok!
