I wish I could go to Vegas, but I must wait until the next organized group vacation. Any particular month(s) you are leaning towards, Beth?

NO one had better pick on our Canadian friends! I know people! It may not be pretty!

House is coming along...almost first coat done, then just another roll on everything and all the trim work and it will be done...I still haven't had to do any!

Tomorrow we are going to the Raspberry Festival in Lynden, WA and then to a friend's sons second birthday party. Should be fun...hopefully dh will get some more painting done, too!

I hear ya. I don't have many pics of myself either. I was either taking the pic or just didn't want to be in it. I always hated the way I looked so for years and years I was never in any. I finally got over that about a year or so ago when I realized should something happen to me my kids wouldn't have very many pics of me!
Now I make an effort to pose with them and have someone else take the photo.

Your pic is very cute. I will edit it and add it to the front page asap.

And Miss Beth, I simply love that picture of you at the pool! You are gorgeous, girl! And your girls look like they want to jump back into the water - so cute!

As for the next organized Vegas trip, I'm not really sure. There has been some talk of doing a quick one over Thanksgiving. Theresa, Marcie and Debra were talking about coming back then. But that would just be a quickie for those who didn't have other holiday plans.

It would be nice to do it in a cooler month, but then we run into it being too close to the DL trip in February. Maybe sometime in late April? Or early May?

Went to a water park today with my family. Had a wonderful time in 108 degree weather!!

Well, I'm not a real Woody and Jesse fan so it's no biggie to me.

That is such wonderful news!!! I completely understand wanting the surgeon to take look as well. Better to be safe than sorry. I will still keep you in my thoughts Beth... Oh and super cute pictures too by the way. You made those girls sooooo happy!

Well, I do have to say about the photo yesterday....I came from work and my hair and makeup looked good and all....then came the almost 90 degree heat in DL. We were all pretty hot and sweaty by the time we sat down to dinner. I hate that wiped out look, but like Vicki said earlier, it was really hot! Not that we judge each other, cause we most certainly DO NOT! We all drank lots of ice water and enjoyed the A/C.

Sarah, I love giving a new look to our house. Glad the painting is going well. And I always forget how close you are to Canada. I just don't associate WA with being so close, sorry!

Deb, I have been meaning to tell you that I am so sorry your bum knee is giving you so much trouble. Take it easy and pamper it. I know it is probably a major PITA! Hugs to you!

Beth, I don't know why you say that about the pics. You really are such a pretty person, inside and out. And you photograph well. I love looking at pics of me from 10 or 20 years ago. I looked fabulous; as you do now. Trust me, when you are my age, you will look back and appreciate how you look now. And I suppose in ten years I will look back and appreciate how I look now! I guess it's all about aging gracefully, right?

Tomorrow I am going to DL again because another website is having their birthday celebration--with lunch at the Celebration BBQ--which reminds me--did you all know that next week they are changing the BBQ and taking Woody and Jessie away so it won't be a "character" meal anymore? I guess there will still be some entertainment--what no one knows is whether the price will go down. so tomorrow we will see the "old" show--or so we've been told.

Soooo true, Linda! We all were melting yesterday, esp Vicki and I because we were out in the DL heat and humidity since before 1. No way you can keep your hair nice, esp wearing a cap all day. But the fun part was just getting to see everyone. The time just flew by.

Heather went home today, we were supposed to get together for dinner last night but with one of their cars breaking down, buying a new van and then trying to donate the unneeded car, we weren't able to. And I even had some Rosa Regale for us!!! Speaking of which, I went to Total Wine and they have the RR and I was told that there's another wine that's made from the same grapes & same region that's supposedly even better. It's called Casa Sant 'Orsola. I bought a bottle, it's about $1-2 cheaper. I'll let you know when I try it.

Morning all. I am up at the crack of dawn as always. Have a LONG day ahead!! Last night we just stayed in and vegged cuz we knew today was going to be brutal. Shane went STRAIGHT from work in Suisun to set up our pop up along with the team tents. He didn't get home till almost 7 after being up since 4!!! He is going to be toast after this weekend. Anyway we are about to leave and it is 5:15! Anyway hope everyone has a great day and wish us luck. Katy is swimming the IM today and both girls are swimming the 25 free and the back stroke. Not sure if either will be in the medley relay OR finals of anything. Won't find that out till the very end of the day!

It is going to be a LONG day. Lynn is gone for the entire weekend. Shane's cousin took her to babysit and now she is spending the entire weekend with them. Given her attitude lately I am kind of glad.

Anyway again hope everyone has a GREAT day!

I feel your pain! My sister got married last weekend and nobody thought to bring sunscreen while we were having pictures done. All the ceremony shots I'm pale as a ghost and the reception photos I'm as red as a lobster. The aloe gel works great, throw it in the freezer for a few minutes first.

Cristabel, My church did Crocodile Doc this year too. They had the church decorated so cute for the skits and stuff! I usually do "Chadder's Theater" with the preschoolers and Kindergartens. I just love that age!

Linda and all the ladies in the photo, You look beautiful, and no one would think that you were all hot and tired. I forget who said it..........but I wish I lived closer too, so I could hang out! Katie, your baby is adorable!

I got my final OK to go in October. Dave just rolls his eyes at me now. If Kaitlyn is not playing volleyball that weekend for a tournament, then I think she will come with me. Hi girls--I had a blast on the mini-meet last night. Little Laila is definitely going to be a Diva! (the funniest part was when I was eating something and Katie said "she gets mad when people eat stuff around her and she's not" and sure enough--about two seconds later she growled! LOL--it was so funny--she is such a cutie--that smile could light up any room.

It was fun to meet the birthday girl Bridgette and see Vicki and Donna and Katie again along with Linda and my adopted daughter Bree. Anyway other than that I worked today but had to take Bella home mid-day because she was having a Diva day and barking barking barking. We did stop at the dog park on the way home--her first time there--and she had some fun after the initial trepidation (you would be scared too if five or six unknown dogs came running up to greet you!) anyway, we are going to have to do that again soon.

Other than that I'm just hanging out tonight--was supposed to have dinner with friends but cancelled first thing this a.m. because I just wasn't up for it. This old lady can't do two nights out in a row!

I'm glad to hear that bella liked the dog park. I think it's good for dogs to socialize. Our dog never gets to socialize with other dogs, and at this point I fear what would happen if all of a sudden she did get to socialize. She wouldn't know what to do, and she may even feel threatened and try to bite another dog. She would definitely have to wear a muzzle for a while until she became accustomed to being around other dogs without feeling threatened.

Is there any good Universal ticket deals down there? Like do the Costco stores down there sell discounted tickets, or could we stop at a particular store/restaurant to pick up a Universal ticket coupon.....or anything like that? (This is for a trip Aug 31 - Sept 5)

I'm trying to plan a little trip for our family before school starts, and we're on a VERY tight budget to make the trip even possible, so every little bit helps. You know.......
