*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

Thanks Beth! :) And you guys have a BLAST this weekend! I want to see pics! :)

I need to go shopping with Rochelle..she always finds the cutest things!:goodvibes

Molly..i'm glad that you all are finding out what the problem was and are on the road to repairing it.:thumbsup2

Debra ... you gave compassionate words.

Kelly.. i know it's been such a hard time with lynn but she's just gotten lost and Debra is right, she will get back on track one day.

I'm playing with my stuff for vegas.. trying this on and that. It's been alot of fun preparing for this girls trip. I will be in for next trip!

I hope everyone doing the exchange has a great time preparing for it and sharing the treasures with a friend. I'll be in the next one for sure.

Anyhoo... just wanted to leave warmth and love for all.:flower3:

I think I might have packed to many clothes :confused3

I would rather have too much then not enough! I've been ironing today, and now I'm ready to pack! Good thing I don't have to go until Sunday!!

Ohhh, you guys have a super fun time. And don't get into too much trouble. Next time when the Diva group wine-o (me) comes, it might be like Desi says, "Linda, you got some splainin' to do!". HA! Seriously, we can't wait to hear all about it. :)

Got my name today for the exchange, so did Breezy - we were emailing each other at work (bad girls, I know) about gift ideas.;)

Happy Friday everyone.:cutie:
Off to make dinner.

Hey Bridgette! I went to Mykonos in 2005. Summer after I graduated high school. It was beautiful. You captured it beautifully. We also went to Santorini, Rome and a few other cities in Italy and France. Oh, I miss Europe sometimes. :lovestruc :cloud9:

Thats wonderful! I only stayed in Greece, but I want to go to Italy someday...

Made it through the day and now I am off until Wednesday! Katie used to do allstar cheer so high school is alot cheaper and less travel.

I love the bag!

You girls have an awesome time in Vegas and don't get in tooooo much trouble!

Thanks!! :goodvibes: I got the duvet on clearance at Target last year. :) I like it too :) I just got the Juicy purse about 2 weeks ago. It was a new item that was marked down for more than 50% off for Nordstrom's half-yearly sale. I'm CRAZY about Juicy!! :rotfl: :lmao:

Oy, if I saw a Juicy purse marked 50% off I would jump on it!!! I'm crazy about Juicy too. Have you been to the outlet in the Camarillo Outlets? I try not to go there often because I spend too much money!

It's okay, my Mom and I email each other while we're at work too. ;)

Thats wonderful! I only stayed in Greece, but I want to go to Italy someday...

It was beautiful. We did a Mediterranean cruise. Greece was probably my favorite though. The super white houses with the water being just sooo blue. Our ocean water here is brown, I never have seen water so blue before.

Why does everyone think we're going to get in trouble?? We will have our lawyer with us, just in case! :rotfl:

Morning ladies!!

I hope you all have a good day. I'm closing the exchange sign ups late this evening so if you are thinking of joining, you still have today to sign up.

I have a dermatologist appt later on to have some moles checked out. I'm nervous because I've noticed some changes in some of them and I just hope those years of tanning haven't caught up with me in a bad way. :sad2:

I've been trying to take care of my health lately. Getting lots of tests done. Pap, mammo, skin cancer/mole check, regular physical, dental work, etc. All over the next three weeks.

Later ladies! :)

Good for you Beth for taking care of business! I am sure that you will get a good bill of health and then can be worry free.

Really logged on to say I hope all you Vegas Gals have an absolutely fabulous trip! Can't wait to hear the stories!

I'm not sure if anyone ever told you guys, but the water in the Aegean Sea is so blue because the currents pick up phosphorous off the northern coast of Africa, which prevents any algae from growing in the water. It's to die for... I need to post more pics soon (they're on my external hard drive at my apt, and I'm at my parent's house because my going away party and open house is tomorrow).

It's 2:45am here and I'm up because I just picked up my sister and her husband from the airport. Their flight was scheduled in at 10:30, but the northermost midwest states (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio) are being nailed with tornadoes and severe thunder storms. In the 25 years I've lived here, I've NEVER seen it lightening like that while I was driving there!

Morning guys.

Yeah Deb and Dawn I know what you are saying I just worry about what she is doing to her life and what she MIGHT do to someone else's like a possible innocent child she might bring into this world. I know for a fact that already at her young age she has already been with over 50 or 60 boys/men whatever you want to call them which just makes me ill. That child is going to end up with a disease IF she doesn't already have one. When she showed up yesterday she looked like trash. She looked like she hadn't showered in a week. She was filthy and she smelled and just looked "greasy". She had hickeys all over her neck and they are living in a single wide trailer and the typical thing that you think of. She is just not thinking about tomorrow only thinking about getting through the next hour. Shane and I BOTH know that this won't last either because she has NEVER lasted with one boyfriend longer than a few weeks and this kid seems like he has more of a brain than most and she was already talking about how she was checking his e-mails and going through them and talking to other girls and being bossy. Either he is going to get sick of her and kick her out or she is going to go back to her partying ways and leave him. That is her "MO" and then she is going to be stuck down there. And we still don't know what is going to happen with the probation now that it is going to be moved back here to our county. They may say that she HAS to live here and that she can't live down there. Her problem is that she wants to live everything moment to moment and she doesn't complete anything. She dropped out of high school and now she didn't even finish her continuation. She dropped out of that.

Sure she wants her freedom but so does everyone but in life sometimes you have to realize that you have to just be patient and go with the flow. I am sure LOTS of kids want to do LOTS of stuff but MOST teens finish what they start and have a "normal" teen life. I worry she is going to end up in jail or WORSE in a body bag or with AIDS. She makes WAY too many poor choices and your luck can only last so long. With running and trusting strangers it can only last so long. She has alienated EVERYONE in our entire family and no one will let her stay with them anymore so she has NO where to go anymore. HOPEFULLY it will work out and she will bounce back and learn from all this but as I said I hope an innocent child doesn't result from this. That is my fear. Last week when Shane's mom brought her stuff back they said they caught a homeless man going through their fridge that she had "brought" home. Again she trusts WAY too many people and one day she is going to trust the WRONG one and it is going to be too late!

Anyway off my soapbox LOL.

We are off to our meet today so hoepfully it goes well.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day!

Kelly.. just keeping your family in my prayers. Wishing only good for everyone.

Kelly, no words just  and good luck.

Everyone thanks for the wishes for a fun Vegas trip. It's been fun planning this for the last 7-8 months and I cannot wait to see everyone this weekend!!! I only wish more of you were coming. :grouphug:

I doubt I'll be on much since it's going to be a busy week but I will try to check in here and/or facebook to post updates. And I'm sure the ladies with those "fancy phones" that allow you to go online will post updates too. (Geez, how ancient do I sound??? :rotfl2: )

Have a wonderful weekend!! :)

Just checking in real quick to say hello to all .

Baby dust to Molly & Heather. May God bless you both with little blessings :cloud9:.

Beth- Good for you for getting everything checked out. I should follow your lead and go to the doctors. I haven't been back to the doctor since I was in the hospital having the baby :scared1:. I skipped my 6 week check-up (bad Katie).

Vegas Divas- I hope you all have a FUN time and we all look forward to trip reports :thumbsup2. We will miss you all while you are gone.

To everyone else "HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND" and hugs to those going through stress and drama .

I'm going to go start shopping for the Exchange. I'm going to ask my BIL if he can take me to Company D to do some shopping.

Kelly--I totally get what you are saying. If she could live her life in a vacuum she'd be fine no matter what she did--but there are evil people/situations out there and woe be to her if she encounters one. She does not have the life skills to know what to do. But, you and Shane have done all you can do and at some point you have to let her soul do its own searching--no matter where that may lead. Very hard to stand by and watch, I know. God bless you and your family during this trying time.

Hi ladies! It looks like I lost my chance to say,

"Have fun in Vegas!":banana::banana::banana:

If some of you are still around, please pass this along!

I have been super busy. I have caught up pretty well, but I just don't have the time to respond. .Just know, that I have laughed, cried, and have felt your happinesses, and hurts too.

I am going away this weekend in just a few hours. We have a wedding in Fresno tonight, so Dave and I are taking advantage of this, and will be gone for the next few days. We are staying in the foothills below Yosemite, so we might take a nice little ride up there too. It has been a few years since we have been there. We are staying at a really beautiful Indian Casino, that looks like it belongs in Vegas. So I guess I can say, that I'm kind of near to you in spirit? :confused3:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Hope everyone has a great weekend and week.

Mel

Okay I've caught up. Not sure how many pages I was behind but the last time I was here was Sunday morning.

Welcome new ladies (I promise I'll remember your names...but my mind is jello right now).

 to all of those in need

Have a great time in Vegas girls :cool1:, wish I could have been able to come.

I have about 8-10 loads of laundry to do (we had to bring our own linens so all of blankets/sheets/towels need to be cleaned).

We had an amazing time. All of the kids went on a zip line (twice) even our Rhys (3 years old). They loved it. I ended up going on the zip line (once) but I did it at night (in complete darkness). Let's just say I cried a lot on Josh's shoulder about my fears but I did it and it was an amazing feeling.

We did a lot of hiking. Yesterday while the kids were in their morning programs, Josh, our 2 friends and I hiked up a large mountain to a hidden waterfall. I can't believe I made it there. I ended up doing some rock climbing and did slip on the way out (received a mouthful of dirt :headache:) but Josh was right behind me and caught me, otherwise I would have really hurt myself. Between our friends and our cameras we have 500+ pictures and lots of video footage.

Alright I'm going to crash now....we walked a great deal (only used the car once all week, the rest of the time we were walking up and down hills/mountains for everything).

Steph

Afternoon all!!

Back from the meet. WHEW! That was crazy. They had a bunch of glitches so it was kind of a long one but the girls did pretty good I think. Not sure what places they got in each event because this was a big nice brand new pool with the touch pads and our girls aren't used to those and so I am not sure what they scored until we get the results. And luckily we have had a mild summer so far so not TOO hot although running around all day after 30 7/8 year olds I still get pretty warm LOL.

Katy and Shelby both swam the butterfly in the medley relay and did well. Katy's team unfortunately still took 6th but she did excellent on her fly though. Shelby's team took 4th and she too did well!

They too both did well on their 25 free strokes although again I don't know what they placed. Then Katy swam back stroke and the board said she placed 2nd although Shane said it was wrong but she looked excellent. Then Shelby swam the 50 free and she did ok. Then Katy swam the breast stroke which is probably her worst stroke but she did it beautifully although she placed towards the back and then Shelby swam the fly and did it nicely although she didn't place very high either. And then they both swam in the free relay. I am not sure what Shelby's team placed but I know Katy's team got 5th.

It was a long day but I think they all did rather well.

Shane is not looking forward to having to get up at the crack of dawn to go see the Christmas Carrol Train LOL but I think it will be a fun day none the less and then we will take him to lunch to celebrate Father's day.

Steph I am glad you had fun on your vacation!!

Dawn and Cheryl thanks so much for understanding about Lynn. It is just an ongoing thing but eventually it will work itself out I am sure. Thanks so much for the support!! :)

And to all you Vegas gals, have a GREAT time!! Man am I jealous! I have only been the one time and SOMEDAY I am going to get back but Shane told me I couldn't go back until I go with him. That is the one thing he DID put his foot down on. I can't go THERE unless he goes with me! ;)

Anywho I am going to go crash! Everyone have a great evening! :)

Sounds like your vacation was physically demanding, yet a lot of fun! Not too much going on around here except everyone wishing the Vegas Divas a great time. I sure know I wish I was going. But I can't be sad as we just returned from a very nice vacation, too.:)
