*Girls DL Trip* OLD THREAD

As much as I love food, and believe me, I DO! I do not care for Italian. Risotto and Panna Cotta - yuck. I do not even know what osso bucco is. I am sorry you were cold, that would bum me out. :guilty: I would love to do the France meal again and try Japan. Breezy & I love Japanese food and sushi. Yummo:cloud9:. Thanks for sharing, and sorry too about Wordy Woman. :upsidedow

The risotto was great--the panna cotta not. Osso buco is a veal shank that has been braised and slow cooked--they are very good! Kind of like short ribs on steroids. I was a little bummed that they didn't have some kind of pasta frankly. But I guess that would have been too obvious. Next year I want to try Japan--the server (we had Ada again--she was great!) said Japan was really her favorite because it looked the most interesting and she got to serve sake for the first time.

I would be totally in to try Japan next year. I wish I would have signed up for some this year.

Hi girls.
I hope everyone is having a great day!
I have been busy all day at school & now I need to finish some stuff for
my class tomorrow. Then pick up Kaeleb for school.
Busy, busy day!!

I have a headache again. I think it is just stress.

Sarah~ I love, love, love the Parent Trap!!

I started watching it last night but fell asleep about the time they had the dance.

Good Morning ladies!!!

We are off to the dentist, all 3 kiddos have an appt. Should be fun:rotfl2:

I finally got all 3 closets cleaned out of winter clothes, clothes that dont fit. I am not sure how J had size 2T shorts when he is 5???

I still have to do this...it is crazy about the 2T shorts! It's so hard to keep up with all the new sizes and getting rid of the stuff that doesn't fit! It is almost a full time job!

I did go to the gym last night but I still feel icky. Hopefully will feel better soon so that I will feel great when I go up to Vancouver to meet Vicki! My family is going to make a day of it and go to the Aquarium and Stanley Park. I haven't been to Canada in almost 4 years which is crazy since I literally work at the border.

Take care!

Sarah

You guys have fun! We leave a week from tomorrow for two days in Vancouver and then the Alaska cruise. We are taking Theresa's advice and buying HOHO Trolley tix. They are good for two days and we get to see everything that way. And good for you going to the gym. The closest I ever get is when we do DL, I always call it a "gym day".:)

So, we have four comfirmed for next year. We only need two more for a full table of DisDivas!

I really feel that you must really like the genre of regional food and corresponding spirits to get your moneys worth. Other than some bizarre behavior of one event guest, the evening was really, really enjoyable. :cutie:

...I just realized I said really like five times.

LOL--I feel the same way. When I go for single days I don't get an ECV so it is quite the workout for me. Don't plan to do anything else that weekend! Too tired!

Yeah--I looked at the menu for the last dinner next week which is Korea--uhh, I don't think so. Most of it I've never heard of--I'm just not THAT adventurous!

And yes, we need to try to get two more so we can have a full table--our dinnermates last week were fun and the ones last night were very nice, but you just don't know who you'll end up with. However, we have to BOOK together next year so we don't have some of the hassles we had this year. Otherwise it's a pain to get moved around and is not guaranteed.

And Ms. Linda, how much wine have we REALLY REALLY had tonight! LOL

I like your idea of a gym day. :thumbsup2

Cool deal!

And I agree. You need to "really like" the genre of food to enjoy and get your money's worth. And you also need to be open to whatever the menu may be. I could never imagine going to a dinner like that, and then not wanting to try what they are serving or asking them to change the menu to something more of my liking. I like to go to things like that with an open mind and just enjoy the experience. Thank goodness the bizarre behavioe of one of the event guests didn't keep you from having a great time.

Heck, the other day with James was a work out for me. I was sweating like all get out.

Live a little. They aren't gonna serve you something nasty. BTW, where can I find the menus from the dinners this year?

A full table of Divas would be fun. Let me know when and where and I will sign up.

I don't know how to quote your quote! But the info about you workout with james was probably off-topic--we're talking Disneyland here girl--not what you and James do in private! TMI!!!!

I found the menus on Allears.

Come on now....you all know I wasn't talking about anything scandalous.;)

I will have to check the menus out. thanks.

Honestly, I have only had one glass!:3dglasses

I am really tired, though. This week has been so long, even though it's only four days.

We were bad tonight and ordered a pizza from Papa John. But it was soooo tasty!

You'll be there exactly a week after me! I had read about the HOHO Trolley too but I am not sure we will get tickets for that. We will get in tomorrow around 1pm and then Bob leaves on Sunday around the same time. We don't have a lot of time but I know for sure we are going to the Capilano Suspension Bridge...it looks like so much fun! It is a park with suspension bridges up in the trees, looks kind of like a rain forest type park and you can walk all over using these suspension bridges!

I wish I lived just a bit closer to DL (the hour drive can turn into a 2+ hour drive depending on the traffic) but I still would be intersted in joining you all for at least one dinner next year. Let me know when you start planning next years outings!

That was soooo funny Stacie!:rotfl: Especially with hmmm (naughty) minds :rolleyes1 like we seem to have! I had to read it twice and then I remembered you and James were in the park this week!

Well...I need to get packing soon but I also need to go run and finish laundry.:laundy: So much to do so unmotivated to do any of it!

Did you dip it in the garlic butter sauce they send with it????

I'm bad, but not that bad.;)
We tried the garlic butter sauce once. It was like pure butter. The pizza is indulgent enough. You are so quick, Stacie.

I only have Papa Johns at work. Taylor is totally against Papa Johns. Talk about someone who is a die hard when it comes to brand loyalty to Pepsico. That girl. But I will admit, I love the garlic butter sauce. Sooooo good, but soooo bad.

Oh, did I tell you that the other night I drank an entire bottle of Rosa myself? Sure did. I had also gotten a split of it the day before to have my mother taste. I was bummed because there is hardly any in the split. Let alone enough to share. So that's part of the reason I drank the whole bottle solo.

Regarding the whole bottle of Rosa solo....been there, done that. I still have one bottle left and the cute little split that Donna gave me at the Grand. Saving it.;) Why does Taylor not like PJ's? Quite frankly it's the only decent pizza we have found in the IE. I miss Round Table.

Well I've got all the favors bought for my Mom's birthday party bags! I hope that everyone enjoys them, I've had so much fun making them. And i've got my Mom's birthday present bought, It's sooooooOOoooo Pretty, ya'll are going to LOVE it when you see it! I think it's really special.

Once I get the December trip paid off with my parents, I'll start saving for Food and Wine Festival Next year.
For sure I want to do the Napa Rose Cooking Class. { I need to get my DH to upload all those pics}
And I want to do the French Dinner and Japan depending on the dates as I will be coming from TeXaS.
So i need to save $1300. That's if they don't go up in prices. I'll save $1500 just to be safe.:thumbsup2
