I'm so happy!! :cutie:

And the best part was watching the Nugget's coach cry about how the whistles were blown! After the major intentional fouls, tripping, last game....

Vicki, I know you don't go to Camarillo often, but on June 6th, they're opening a Disney Character Warehouse for about a month and a half. It's going to be in the Target shopping center right past the outlets. Just thought I'd let you know since it's the closest one to you right now!

That's awesome! Camarillo is not far from me and I go there from time to time. Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

I know! That was awful how they pushed and shoved the Lakers the last game. :sad2: My bf kept saying: "What is their problem???" when we were watching the game. :sad2:

Vicki I am sorry about your mom. Prayers to her!!

Becci that is cool about your phone. We are hoping to get those when our contract runs out in Feb. Enjoy yours. :)

Well today I just have one doc apt and to finish up a bit of laundry. It is the girls short day at school though. They have swim today also but it is the last day before the meet. Our old team used to post what they were swimming the day before so I am hoping this team does as well. I am very anxious to see what they are going to have them swim! Katy is really good at the butterfly and it would be a travesty if they didn't have her swim that. Plus last year she was on a medly relay team swimming that stroke as well although I am not sure if they will put her on a team this year or not because someon on this team told me they usually only have one relay team which seemed weird to me. We had two or three and our old team was smaller. But anyway I will be VERY curious to see what they have them swim!

Anyway the girls also got a big list of all the activities that are going on next week and I am going to see about volunteering to help out on the last day of school. I have done it every year so far. I usually have to work on Fridays but I would really like to do it cuz it is fun and I like to do it. I will see if maybe I can work on Thursday instead or perhaps come in to work after they get off or something.

They have a LOT of fun stuff planned for them next week. The nice thing is they told us who the possible teachers are going to be up front for next year which they have NEVER done ahead of time (VERY surprising) but nice so the girls have a little heads up who their possible teachers will be and also again now I know when school is going to start. So lots of info yesterday which was good.

Then tomorrow is also Shane's birthday and since mine is next Wed we always just celebrate together so we are going out with my parents somewhere yet to be determined. He already got me my gift which was the bracelet at Dland in April and I am getting him his Wii that he wants and then SOME time tomorrow I have to get him and ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins as that is what he said he wanted as well. Although ice cream and heat don't go too well LOL. Then of course we have the meet on Saturday and Sunday we are going to church but I DID find out more on Family day last night at church. It turns out they are having a big pancake breakfast and then they are baptisizing everyone but the girls AND Shane really wanted to do it in the river like Jesus did so we talked to the lady at church and she said the pastor would do that so we are going to try and arrange to do that after church next Sunday. If we can't we will do the dunking in the pool so my parents can see it and then do the river at a later time but I am hoping it works out. I am really excited for them cuz it will be really cool!

So lots going on in the next week but lots of fun stuff!

Anyway that's it for me. Hope everyone has a GREAT day!

Good Morning Ladies!!

Having a hard time keeping up on this thread lately......been under a ton of paperwork for the twins Social Security appt. today.....probably going to go thru this entire process & 100's of pieces of paper to find out they won't get any benefits because of the adoption assistance we receive.....but we'll see.

We had a great weekend, taking the twins outside & into the yard for their introduction to grass.....that was fun! Had to share this picture of Shyann...she pulled one of my flags up & was prancing around the yard...so cute...."Proud to be an American"

Also played with their hair yesterday (they have very kinky, curly hair that mats up terribly...so got wild with the ponytails....lol)

Hope our sickies get to feeling better, I hope those unhappy at work will find something good to look forward to, I hope those struggling with kiddos will find some peace & balance in their day to day grind, I hope everyone else has a great day!!!

Heather  LOVE  the design......very Diva-like!!!! (the hats were cute too!)

Thanks for the info! I think I will just need to make a special trip to Camarillo...it's not a bad drive.

I was feeling fortunate that everyone in my life is healthy BUT...my mom had her thyroid removed several years ago and they left a small piece hoping that she would not have to take medication forever well that small piece has grown two nodules and they did a needle biopsy when I was in Denver a couple of weeks ago and she called tonight with the results...one of the nodules is cancerous. She'll need to have surgery again and we are hoping that it is contained and that surgery will be all that she needs.

Prayers and pixie dust to your mom! :wizard::wizard:

Good Morning ladies!!!

We are off to the dentist, all 3 kiddos have an appt. Should be fun:rotfl2:

I finally got all 3 closets cleaned out of winter clothes, clothes that dont fit. I am not sure how J had size 2T shorts when he is 5???

Nice!

Good morning ladies! I should be done working by about 2:00 today and then I am officially on vacay! We're having a girls' weekend at my friend's cabin near Yosemite, and since I worked over the hoiday weekend, I am so ready!!!!! We are leaving tomorrow morning and stopping at the Gap outlet on the way. I think there is a Character Warehouse still at that outlet mall, and if it is, I'll have to make a stop there too! Then it is just chillaxing in the mountains for three days! Can't wait!!!!!!!!

Good morning, ladies! I feel so much better today! :yay:

Ok--I am replying backwards! If that makes sense . . . .

Hmm, busy day there. It just seems nuts to me that you're spending all that money for the special dinner and you have a premium pass and still you're going to have to pay to park (valet).... well, I hope the meal is fabulous - I expect it will be!

Actually-when I got to the park at 5 p.m. they were allowing parking in Mickey and Friends, so all was good. Took the tram in and it was cool.

Speaking of jobs, I went for testing today for the position I was applying for. it was supposed to be tomorrow but they called yesterday switching to today. It was a grueling 3 hours, but I'm glad I got it out of the way.

And just when I thought I was done, they let me know that I have to take a 2 1/2 hour computer skills test on June 10th. Then the best candidates who completed everything (application, report, questionnaire, 1st interview and 2 testing sessions) will get a 2nd interview on June 16th :sad2:.

I'm tired just thinking about the whole process.

I wondered about that job! Thanks for the update!

Linda: the dinner was good--I think they fixed the leftover problem by having less food! LOL--but believe me it was enough.

First course was the best--a mushroom risotto! YUMMY!

Second course was an ok salad.

Entree was osso buco with polenta and asparagus (yuck). But also some onions that had been roasted in balsamic--those were good!

Dessert was panna cotta (yuck) a cookie, some berries and something I can't remember. I liked the sparkling wine and the dessert wine--everything else was so dry. We actually had "guest speakers" including some lady who is apparently a famous sommelier -- Jim and his staff seemed star-struck. I called her "Wordy Woman"--just shut up and let me eat already! The other weird thing was that they were describing the courses AFTER you ate it--everyone at our table (all of whom were nice btw) were like--can you describe it BEFORE we eat it?????

But it was a lovely evening but COLD. We were at table 1 and there was no heater over us and it was windy.

Happy Thursday everyone!

I am currently in work avoidance mode--I have two projects that I need to finish by tomorrow afternoon and I am having a hard time getting motivated to do them as it's really, really quiet here today. Both my supervisor and the full time staff member that I supervise left this morning for a conference--I couldn't go because of my niece arriving this weekend--and our graduate assistants are all gone for the summer, so literally I am the only person in the office in my general vicinity. I enjoy the quiet sometimes, but right now it's just too much. And, so here I am actually reading the boards during the day.

I hope that everyone is having a much better day today than yesterday!:lovestruc

Happy Thursday to you all!

Thank you all for your nice messages for my mom. You're just the sweetest, most supportive group and I :lovestruc you all. She will go to Denver next Wed. to see her surgeon who is said to be one of the best and he works out of the University of Colorado Medical Center so I know she will be in good hands. I am not sure when they will schedule the surgery but I was planning to go to Denver in June anyway so I may just need to go earlier.

The girls are so adorable! Those tiny pony tails were just so cute and Shyann with the flag was too precious! I just want to kiss those little cheeks!

Enjoy your vacation! I can't think of a better place to relax then in the mountains! And Yosemite what can I say, from the pictures I have seen it looks just beautiful. We are going for a week in July and staying in Curry Village in a tent cabin...just Mr. CA and me. I know I will be so ready for no tv, no phones, no internet, Bob and a good book is all I'll need! ;)
Good morning, ladies! I feel so much better today! :yay:
Glad you are feeling better and just in time for the weekend!

Everything sounded very yummy but you would think they could have come up with a better dessert!:confused3 I hate being cold and especially when I am eating. I hope you had a jacket so that you were at least comfortable.

We leave for Vancouver early in the morning from Burbank. I love flying out of the Burbank airport it is small and so easy...usually never a line at check in or security. It makes traveling so much easier. We fly through SFO and I hope that connection is an easy one. I’ll check back later – I have the same work avoidance Jane is experiencing! But I have to get my Business Review completed for the hotel that I am visiting in Vancouver. I keep forgetting that the reason I am going really is to see them on Monday but the weekend plans are overshadowing that fact!

Vicki, I'm sorry to hear that about your mom. I also hope that surgery is all she needs. Keep us updated as you can. Have a good trip to Vancouver.

Katie, congrats on making it so far in the interviewing process!! That's great.

Becci, glad you like your new phone.

Courtney, glad you are feeling better.

Laurie, great pics!! Thanks for sharing.

Tina, enjoy your weekend escape!

Jane, Deb and all those dealing with work issues, hang in there.

I am sure I missed someone, but hopefully everyone is having a good day. Hannah is home sick so we've been hanging out together.
Talk to ya'll later.

As much as I love food, and believe me, I DO! I do not care for Italian. Risotto and Panna Cotta - yuck. I do not even know what osso bucco is. I am sorry you were cold, that would bum me out. :guilty: I would love to do the France meal again and try Japan. Breezy & I love Japanese food and sushi. Yummo:cloud9:. Thanks for sharing, and sorry too about Wordy Woman. :upsidedow

The risotto was great--the panna cotta not. Osso buco is a veal shank that has been braised and slow cooked--they are very good! Kind of like short ribs on steroids. I was a little bummed that they didn't have some kind of pasta frankly. But I guess that would have been too obvious. Next year I want to try Japan--the server (we had Ada again--she was great!) said Japan was really her favorite because it looked the most interesting and she got to serve sake for the first time.
